Happy birthday, gramma! Glad your family is showing you the love! Just a quick not to let you know I am home safe. Planning to fall into bed and sleep til I wake up. No pressure to get up early tomorrow. Or to be anywhere at a particular time. It is our anniversary, but we aren't planning to go out anywhere tomorrow. Dd will be coming over to pick stuff in the garden and we will have a simple supper here with her and dgs.

Thanks for hosting last night joyfulnanaGlad you made it home safe and sound grammadee Happy Anniversary to you and DH! Last night's layouts were all super simple. The first one I started last week and couldn't make work so picked all new papers and tried again. The other two are basic grids. DD17 went with a friend and her family to St Petersburg (FL) today to the Dali Museum. It's a bit of a drive from here - about 3hrs or so depending on traffic - but she should really enjoy the museum. I love that my kids ALL love museums.

Good Morning my Pokey friends! Thanks so much for joining in last night guys! Linda I seriously love your "basic grids". I love grids and they never look basic to me. My hometown is where the Pony Express started, and I have been thinking lately I want to check out the museum again. I haven't seen it since my middle school days. I appreciate the history much more now. We were also home to Jesse James for what that's worth lol. on grammadee I'm so glad you have a restful day planned. I hope you sleep until noon if that's what you want to do! I love that puzzle background paper! Is that from the Simple Stories line too? Such cool paper. Today is the usual housework, laundry and the usual. This is the first weekend in a while I don't have anything going on and I'm going to enjoy it. Last night I started on my first sample for next month and I want to make more progress on that today. I'm also pick up Abby's ashes today. Sure seems like it's been longer than just a week. gramma I'm so glad you were celebrated so hard by your family. You deserve it I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Thanks joyfulnana - I really like grids also but they seem really basic compared to the layering and embellishing and mixed media on everyone's layouts. A Pony Express museum? That sounds super fun and interesting. Making a note in case we road trip that direction in the future. (((Hugs))) as you pick up Abby's ashes. no real plans here today - grocery shopping and errands, hopefully some more work on my photo labelling/scanning, and I want to try and finish up my last layout from last night

Ah, gramma, I can't open the link. What was it? Glad you had lots of love on your birthday! It was nice to see you last night. justjac, it was nice to see you last night. Great news about your air conditioning! Sorry you have to head back to school soon. joyfulnana, thank you for hosting last night. It was a fun crop and chat! I hope you get all your chores done today and have some rest time. grammadee, so glad to know you are home safely, and that you have a relaxing weekend. Nice to have you back. Linda, I love your grid pages too. Your puzzle page especially since the photos all fit perfectly together too. Great use of the puzzle pieces and that background paper is perfect. I love seeing your flower pages. So many flowers that we never see in the west.Beautiful. My favorite is the first one with the barbecue. Did you use a sketch for this one. I was thinking you said you did. It's great! My morning was spent grocery shopping and then helping to get the house ready for another possible flood. Once it started raining, the sand bags were put in place and the basement was fortified. The water came right up to the sand bags but no further. However, we are expecting another deluge or 2 before the day ends. Oops, there's thunder now. Off to watch the weather!

Welcome home grammadee! Hope you might get some quiet time now. nylene - so excited for the new baby! I remember the middle name - Alonzo - but I can't remember the first name. I remember the middle name because a local friend of mine has a grandson named "Clayton Enzo" and I thought your new g-gs's name sounded strangely similar. I hope you can keep the water out! We had a tornado touch down 6 miles from us today...we were under a tornado watch at work, and the storm was pretty fierce - lots of flooding in low areas, but we're nice and high (both at work and home) gramma - your link won't open for me either, but I assume it's about a cat? justjac - glad you could pop in last night to say hi. I guess I'm hoping you get some nice hot weather to put that AC to use!

congratulations nylene - another great grand baby for you to love and scrap! Do the two newest ones live close to each other? I bet being so very close in age will be fun growing up. My younger sister turns 50 in October - she is the youngest grandchild on my dad's side - and the oldest great grandkid on that side was born a couple of hours after her on the same day. We've always called them twin cousins. Unfortunately we've rarely lived in the same country but FB has made it easier to connect and we'll be visiting with him and his family this October. I'm so sorry about so much rain/flooding. Glad you were able to prevent more from coming in and I hope that continues. (((Hugs))) gramma - lol black cats are so sweet and so underappreciated. We've had two in the past. Jacob (1998-2012) was lean and sleek and DS32's special kitty when he was little. And then Midnight wandered into our lives around 2013 as an outdoor stray and moved inside in 2016 - he passed in 2022 at about 20. He was a big round beachball of a kitty and so sweet and loving.

kitbop, new great-grand is Myles Alonzo. He is a cutie. I wish I could get more photos. I am glad you survived the tornado watch. I hate wind and would be an nervous wreck if I lived in tornado areas. Do you have to take certain precautions at the hospital during the watch? Linda, the 2 new mamas are cousins, so the babies would be 2nd cousins, is that right? They live on opposite ends of the state but their grandmas live in the county so I think they will visit often and try to get together. They have been the best pals growing up even if they were in opposite ends of the county. Both couples have just finished college and are doing post-grad work so you never know where they will eventually settle. gramma, you do beautiful layouts. I love that wonderful dress you made. What is the fabric? Congrats on the big awards. I know that open class big awards at fairs are hard to come by. At least around here they don't judge like 4H where every item gets first, second or third, but open class awards just one winner and a runner-up. You deserve that beautiful ribbon! Love the beach pages but especially that little dirty faced guy. You know he has had a great day! I love the big ice cream cone and the strips of ice cream colors. Lovely pages! I know nothing about rugby, but I an engrossed in all the action shots you got. Great use of the banners on each page. I love, love, love polka dots so those pages really speak to me! The black and purple are so dramatic. Love it. You have been scrapping up a storm. Speaking of storm...we weathered the first onslaught and the 2nd without a drop of water inside. We are waiting for the 3rd one which is supposed to be more severe. I think we are well prepared.

Welcome Baby Myles, too, nylene! How many great grands is that? Glad you had no water damage inside from the storms, and hoping this STAYS the case! Whew, kitbop! Glad that storm missed you! I think it is justjac's fault that it is cool and rainy this weekend. New A/C will do that... Either that or that dh had a neighbour cut some hay on our field... Love the kitty meme, gramma. And gorgeous pages! I will be checking them out on Flickr over the next few days. Quiet day today. Dh's digestion is still plaguing him so we didn't go out for our anniversary as usual. Dd & dgs came over. We picked veggies and berries between rain showers, and I made beef soup with rice and veggies, then we played a few hands of cards.

grammadee sorry that your dh wasn't up to a big celebration but it sounds like a nice day anyway. I finished up the last layout I started on Friday - not sure why it took me so long to get it glued down - but I was having issues with placement - those PP with big images are hard to use

Linda, that Red Lobster page is great. I love the little red lobster. Just the perfect amount of embellishment. grammadee, I'm glad you are home, but sorry that your anniversary plans fizzled. When is DH's surgery? I hope he is feeling better. Happy Belated Anniversary anyway! Myles and Millie make 6 great-grands. I am eager to see them, snuggle them, smell them. I think Millie will be in town this weekend. We survived the 3rd wave of water and put the sand bags back up yesterday as the weather was threatening another storm. It came in the night but missed our area of town. Homes just north of us had feet of water in their basements. We learn more lessons with each storm and feel very prepared if we are at home when they hit. If we aren't home we have neighbors who can locate and use the pump, but we would probably have some damage. Waving to all the Pokeys. Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Merry Monday to all the Pokeys! beachy and kitbop , yesterday evening I watched last week's Amazing Race Canada episode and they went to GUELPH! I actually put together a LO today! Was starting to add another page kit to my bulging GO-bag that I will be taking tomorrow, and then decided I would just do the LO here. I started with an Allison Davis sketch for August in the SCT Sketches 2024 class. Basically all I picked up from the sketch was permission to slap down a bunch of uneven strips of cs LOL.
nylene I missed your post while I was fixing mine. So jealous of the baby snuggles! Fingers crossed--again--for no water damage for you. Dh is still not feeling well physically. And he is also feeling really down emotionally. The health centre called this morning to confirm his surgery time on Wednesday. It is scheduled to be day surgery and I need to have him at the centre by 7:30 AM. Not sure it will "cure what ails him", but it is a start. I hope to talk to someone there to get some pain maintenance in place, not just for post surgery, but also going forward.

grammadee, I hope all goes well with your DH and his surgery. I hope it fixes the issues he is having now. Hugs to both of you. Here is the page I finished on Friday night. A little bit sticker-sneezy but it's done and the story is told. The cards are the ones one of our members taught on Tuesday. I have made 6 of them. Very easy to make, but a classy design. Happy Monday! Waving hi and saying prayers for all you sweet peas that have had loss and medical stuff going on. HUGS! I was in the gallery recently and saw lots of nice pages and cards from you all. I will be going back tonight and leaving more praise. I did finish my flower collection video and hope to post it this week. So fun to make the flowers and video. I hope to continue this week doing more art. I did a little embroidery yesterday and today and finished a project I started a long while ago. Embroidery Project by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr

That is such a sweet hoop of flowers kellyr21! Your art seems to be flowing well for you lately! nylene, I think you toy layout perfectly highlights those toy photos - it's rather a seemless flow between the page/embellies and the photos themselves, kinda like the toys are actually on the page. And I think the cards are the perfect blend of intricate and subtle. grammadee, getting to the surgery is the first ordeal - never fun when something like that is looming. We will be hounding you for an update tomorrow I'm sure. Where are those superhero papers from? I could use it for a couple of my florida pictures. Your page is so much fun!!! You do coloured backgrounds so very well. gramma - unless I go to the petfood store, I think I'm "safe" from another cat for the moment. With wanting to travel more, and already finding it difficult to keep up with the cat litter (pet hair and cat litter, my nemeses) I will acquiesce to DHs feeling of "2 cats is enough" for now. Your pages are stunning - do you have any idea how good your colour and pattern combos are?
