Good Morning Pokeys! So much lovely work here! gramma I think your system sounds pretty solid, and your pages are so pretty. If I had to pick a favorite I couldn't. But the beach and ice cream pages really caught my eye. nylene I love those pages! And the story more. I hope you are done with the flooding for awhile. kellyr21 your embroidery is beautiful! grammadee good wishes for DH today. Your Super Heros page is wonderful! So much action! I have that paper and have struggled to use it, I like what you did with the film strips. I enjoy looking at everyone's different styles. It's inspiring! I'm still plugging along on the LO I started Friday. Not a whole bunch of scrapping last weekend (I knew it wouldn't happen lol) I did do some purging and straightening. I'm looking forward to Friday! It's been crazy this week at work, working OT again, which I do enjoy the extra money, I would rather keep my sanity LOL. Waiting to hear if my youngest sister has breast cancer. She had biopsy Monday, I don't know a lot more than that so keeping fingers crossed for her. She's the mom of the niece I scrap with. Sending hugs and waves to everyone!

kellyr21, it was so nice to wake up this morning and see your beautiful stitchery and go to the next page and see your video. I can tell that flowers are in your mind right now. What do you plan to do with your embroidery? Wall decor? on a pillow?..whatever, it will be beautiful. I really enjoyed your video. You have really been doing a lot of painting. My favorite floral is the final one. I really love the ladies with the big patterns and colors on their dresses. I think you should make a video showing how you do that? It looks impossible to me! joyfulnana, I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I hope she gets good news soon. I'm sorry you have had so much overtime. Maybe it's a good thing to keep busy for the next little while. Have you done any more thinking about the kitties? Hope your pages for next month turn out like you plan. grammadee, I have had your DH on my mind since early morning. Even if it's a simple hernia repair, it's always worrisome when someone you love is in surgery. I hope everything goes well and that he can be out of pain. Linda, how is DD doing with the beginning of her busy school year? I hope she is doing well. Is she still working on getting her driver's license? Are you still planning your England tr@beachy, are you still vacationing?ip? beachy, are you still vacationing with your grandchilden? Dh got his stitches out yesterday and can now get a haircut today. I have a few errands to run, but mostly it will be a work in the house day. Last night we went out to see Tori's home remodel. Wow, it was really beautiful. She has lots of room for her 3 grands to run and around and play. She fixes Sunday dinner every other week for all her family and her home just couldn't handle them as their families grow. Have a nice day, Pokeys!

nylene - yay for your DH getting his stitches out! I'm sure he'll appreciate the haircut! That's lovely that your Tori hosts a regular Sunday dinner - so nice when family is close like that. DD seems to be off to a good start with the school year. Dh has been driving her to school in the mornings and she gets to drive home on days she stays after so she's only riding the bus in the afternoon a couple of days/week. Between that and her new sleeping pills, mornings have been a LOT smoother so far this year. She came with us when we went to vote yesterday - DH didn't want her driving to and from the polls because they are down a very narrow winding road with ditches on both sides and we JUST got the car back from the dealership on Friday and then our mechanics yesterday. But we went to pick up milk afterwards and she drove us home from there. She seems to be doing well - but I don't drive so...it's hard for me to tell. We are still planning the UK trip - he has assured me that he'll be able to get on the plane. I really hope he's right.

Hooray, Linda, for plans being on for your England trip. Congrats on your DD's driving. That will leave you less worried about her getting around while you are gone. Is it October you are going? You said you were voting, are they your local elections? Here is a page I finished last night watching the DNC convention speeches. Long speeches are good for scrapping, I guess. Grandpa's Cars

nylene - she still needs to take (and pass) her drivers test. We leave Oct 5th for 2 weeks. Yes - local elections. Just two races on my ballot since I'm non-affliated. Sheriff - my candidate won against the incumbent but I honestly wasn't very excited about either. The County Commissioner race will have a run-off in November since no one had 50+% of the votes. Just the top 2 though and I voted for #3. Not happy with the choices in the run-off - it'll be between the incumbent who is in his 80s and has been in office since 1988-ish and a candidate who I can't find anything out about - his website just has buttons for donation and endorsing and his FB page is just vote for me. The one I voted for had a bunch of information about his plans and ideas on his website and along with the vote for me stuff on FB he also shared local community information as well as offering rides to the polls. And less than 33% of my county's voters even bothered to vote which is super disappointing. I LOVE your page - such an adorable photo of Swayzee and those little car diecuts are so cute! Great journalling!

Good evening, Pokeys. Thanks for all your good wishes for dh. He seems to have weathered the surgery well (much to HIS surprise I think), but from what I recall of my own experiences, tomorrow may be a rougher day, once the meds they used today wear off and muscles start to cramp. They did send us home with a scrip for a new pain med. He took it in the hospital and said it took his pain level from a 10 to a 2. Hoping he will find that he can take it to give him some relief on a "regular" day. He walked around for a bit when we got home, but has been pretty spending most of his time in his recliner. I think he plans to sleep there tonight. kitbop that Super Hero pp is from a 2016 Echo Park line. If you could use it, I still have another sheet of it and could send it to you. Hoping to get back to the rest of you tomorrow. It was dh's surgery, but for some reason I am exhausted...

grammadee , so glad to know that the surgery went well. I hope the pain meds get him through these first days and that the surgery takes care of his problems. Linda , thanks for your comments on my layout. I'm slowly getting through my BIG stack of photos! I understand the frustration regarding elections. DH and I are out of step with most of the state in local elections. I do my homework, listen to their recorded remarks, check their web pages and vote accordingly. Seldom do our picks win. I have ideas and photos for 2 pages sitting out, but need to have time to sit down and actually work on them. Dh has his eye treatments this morning, so maybe while he is resting afterwards.

Good morning, Pokeys.... Best wishes to your sister, joyfulnana. Our ddil has surgery booked for September 10th. Her dad is also on a waiting list for major surgery, so not sure if her own mom can help her much. I told them to call if they need me, but ds is really good with the boys, and doing household stuff, so they will probably decide to handle this on their own unless there are complications. Sounds like your dd is determined to get that drivers' license, Linda. Will she be able to get the test before you leave for GB? That will be such a relief if she can get herself and her sister around while you are gone. And I am glad your dh has decided to be such a trooper and planning to get on that plane. I am planning to head over to the Sharing thread today to look at all your pages and leave some love. How are the young'uns doing, nylene? Love that you are crafting while you can. I hope to check out your latest on Flickr. And while I am there I will be checking out your pages, gramma, and your floral video, kellyr21. BTW, kellyr21, your embroidery really reminded me of my mom. She embroidered tons of pillow cases and kitchen towels (many of them sewn by her from sugar and flour sacks), and many of her designs looked much like the one you shared. Enjoy your last couple of days of freedom, justjac! Dh is feeling okay, just very tired this morning. But that is pretty standard for day after surgery. He has been up a bit, walking around the house, but I am going to have to coax him to eat something. After all the gastric issues, he is afraid in case he gets gas pains on top of post surgical pain. One funny thing. A year & a half ago, I bought him an adjustable bed, which he absolutely refused to use the controls for, and has slept on it flat this whole time. This morning, I see that he has it in reclined position with his feet raised a bit. Recognizing how a bed's motion can HELP him, I guess. This morning I posted the last of the pages I worked on at the ski lodge on Tuesday. And I took on the first sketch I will be posting for SKETCHtember to put together my August calendar page. Will be posting that on August 31st. It was easy to set up the kits for Tuesday cuz I had so many stories I wanted to scrap. But there are not as many printed photos that are calling to me right now. I had hoped to print my pic's from Calgary and from Haying in the 30's while I was near a WalMart on Tuesday, but the WM photo centre there has closed down . So many of the pages I have in my head don't have the photos to put them together IRL.

Not sure if DD24 will be able to come while we're gone or not - it's too long a train ride for Amtrak to allow cats so DH would have to drive up and collect her and the kitties the weekend before and then drive her back again afterwards. Dh is feeling okay, just very tired this morning. I hope he continues to heal well and that eating doesn't cause additional problems

nylene - yay for stitches out! I'll bet that haircut felt good for him. I'll bet Tori's new kitchen is beautiful, and that she'll have fun cooking in it. I hope you got more scrap time. Tonight is the first night I've really had the convention on, and I agree it makes great background noise. Of course I'm not scrapping to it lol. Oh man, I have never in my life been so excited to vote. I'll be so proud of us as a country if she wins. Keep doing what you're doing, I'm in a similar state and situation, it starting to look like the tide is turning. Linda - I understand that trepidation of letting them drive right after you got the car back. I have stories about myself and DS1 that I could tell lol. I hope it all works out to get DD to Florida and that the entire trip goes smoothly for all of you. Keeping fingers crossed on DH and the flight. grammadee - it almost sounds like DH isn't feeling so invincible. I'm glad the surgery went well and I hope he's a good patient for you. I hope DDIL's surgery goes well too, and that they will ask for help if they need it. I hope you are able to get some rest too, and that you get your pictures soon. My sister got her results today, she has cancer in both breasts. One is the size of a peanut, and the other is smaller than that. They are doing surgery next week, and then radiation after that. I'm hoping this will end similarly to gramma and they will say she won't need radiation. She's in very good spirits all things considered. I have still been thinking about new cat or cat(s)! if gramma and kitbop have any say LOL! I'm not quite ready to get to know a new kitty but it won't be long. And it's football season lol. The Chiefs are playing at home tonight, and again for the next two weekends. I have to get back to strategizing when to get out on weekends, Monday and Thursday nights lol. I had decided I wasn't going to try a December album this year. And then I saw the Elle's Studio December release and it just makes me want to do an album again lol. I'm going to sort through my Christmas stash first, because I have a ton of stuff I could use lol. ETA and call out Linda. She voted for 2 cats too lol.

Merry Monday to all the Pokeys! beachy and kitbop , yesterday evening I watched last week's Amazing Race Canada episode and they went to GUELPH! Well that’s cool, I wonder if I can watch it anywhere. I lived in Guelph for 8 years, it would be fun to see if I can recognize places. I just Googled it and apparently they were in Fergus and Elora as well. Those two small towns are about 20 minutes from me.

beachy , are you still vacationing with your grandchilden? Hi nylene, we got home late Sunday night. We had a fantastic time! Lots of swimming in the lake, fishing, campfires and playing board games. Perfect weather too, I didn’t want to come home… This week I’ve just been catching up with things at home, working in my gardens and trying to get back to exercising everyday. I also finished another 2010 layout and have two more almost finished. Hopefully will post them tomorrow. I took tons of photos up north and I think I’m going to use grammadee’s suggestion and start alternating between scrapping my catch-up years and photos from this year. I’ve already sent a bunch to be printed. Congratulations on another new great grand!

Good news that they caught it early for your sister, joyfulnana. Hoping her surgery and recovery go well. I have just caught up on Flickr and in the Sharing thread. Whew! And I loved your Utube video on your lovely floral artwork, kellyr21 .

I'll bet Tori's new kitchen is beautiful, and that she'll have fun cooking in it Starting by reading the past couple of days' worth of updates and I *must* have cats on my brain because I read the above as "...tori's new KITTEN is beautiful and that she'll have fun cooking in it"...which was disturbing for a second grammadee - I'm glad DH is through the surgery and hope he recovers quickly - for your sake!! It's rotten that he's going through body pain and digestive woes simultaneously. nylene - glad DH is on the literal mend too! My DH just shaves his head because he's so thin on top and hates the look. He never had good hair however. My boys both inherited my texture and thickness of hair, and the men in my family did not go bald, so they are hoping they won't have their Dad's hair woes! joyfulnana - I'm *so* sorry about your sister's news. What a shock, both sides! I'm so glad they found things early but that doesn't take away from any of the worry. Linda - DS1 had his 2nd level license for 5 years. What finally made him take the final test was that the "learners" was expiring and he'd have to start from the base level if he let it slide! He's still not a comfortable driver - will let others drive if he can - but he gets around just fine. I'm so glad your DH is feeling positive about England - yay! Gotta run - hi to all! See you later???

DD24 is on her second learners (she got the first 2 weeks after she turned 15) and I'm not sure she'll ever end up taking the test. DD17 can't test until DH signs off on her being ready OR she turns 18 - but either way she'll need him to take her to the test and lend her a car Trip is getting a bit more real. My sister got our train passes in the mail yesterday and I just wrote the cheque for our lodging in Didcot - Aberdeen, Oban, and London are pay on arrival. She is already packed, lol (and so is BIL since she packed for him). I'm starting to try and figure out what to pack and if I had to guess, DH will be packing the morning of our (evening) flight.

joyfulnana, I am so sorry for your sister's diagnosis. I am glad they are small, but both sides??? That is just not fair. She is in my prayers for a great result. I'm sorry this adds a worry for you too. Kitten? Kittens? Take your time and get the perfect match. Abby was purrfect for you. kitbop, yes, cooking and kittens would not go well in the same sentence. They have expanded their house by more than half, upstairs and downstairs. They currently rent part of the basement to young marrieds. She loves to cook and entertain (didn't get that from me!) and her family of 7 has grown to 13 with another baby due before the end of the year. Now she has lots of room. gramma, you are not an old woman in CA. You are a young at heart, fun, delightful woman in CA. So glad you are doing well. beachy, your vacation with the grands sounds wonderful. I like the idea of working your scrapping on both ends of the photos, older and recent. Linda, I hope your DD takes and passes the test. Even if she is uncomfortable and nervous driving at first, she will gain confidence soon. I am excited for your trip! Glad plans are still on. grammadee, I hope your DH is doing better today. Seems like the 3rd day is always the hardest for me after surgery. I can't believe how fast you are doing pages. You are definitely not pokey, but you are a Pokey Pea! kellyr21, I went to leave comments on your video but it said they were turned off. I don't blame you for not wanting trolls posting, but wanted you to know I really enjoyed it. I hope to work on a couple of pages this evening.

Happy Friday! We finally got a cool day here after our temps were in the 90's and high 80's. Today, it felt good to turn the a/c off so far. LOL! Waving hi and hope you all are having a nice day. Thanks for watching my video. It was so fun to make and when I watch it feels relaxing. Plus, it was a joy for me to share all these flowers with you gals. nylene , I think the last one was the show stopper and I love that dark grey background. Here my blog post about this art collection. I told some of the backstory and what inspired me. Link HereAlso, I am glad you all like my embroidery and it bought your fond memories grammadee. I plan on starting a new one soon. nylene , not sure what I will do with them but framing is a nice idea. nylene , I hope to do a tutorial video showing how I made these flowers. I wanted to make one already but it was too hot to get up all my equipment to film it. Geez! So it's coming. Your layouts in the gallery are so sweet. That one with your dh and dgd is just so precious!!! Melts my heart. Glad you have been able to scrapbook these special moments. grammadee - Your layouts are just awesome, too! Those dgks give you lots of fun moments to document. Your pages look like they could be in a magazine. Beautiful work! Waving hi to you all and you are still in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there and have a restful weekend.

Thanks for hosting joyfulnana - great seeing everyone I spent most of the crop fussy cutting the rest of the embellishment sheets I have from SG's Graduation line - in part because I wanted to use some of them and in part because I wasn't clear on a plan for my photos, lol. I did end up finishing one whole layout...If anyone has seen my mojo...please send it back home Pretty decent day here though. I made chocolate chip zucchini bread with the last of the zucchinis from last week's farm box and a single jar of peach jam from the last of the peaches. The farm box arrived - carrots, cabbage, onion, white potatoes, cantaloupe, more peaches, cucumbers, and yellow tomatoes. I chatted with DD24 for a while - she's doing good Missing her brother though. Physical Therapy this afternoon - it went well, I'm worn out afterwards but...I have less pain overall so a win.

Love that page Linda. The cluster border looks so good. I couldn’t remember earlier about sequins. But I used wet glue and tweezers to place the sequin. It did sometimes stick to me but not tooo much lol

Thanks everyone Yes the stars were fussy cut - the Scrapbook Generations collections all include sheets of embellishments to fussy cut The camera and word strips were also grammadee I feel like it might be too cold for peaches and cantaloupe on your farm except maybe in a greenhouse or orangery Groceries and dropping off recycling today (no kerbside here) and hopefully some scrappy time. At a minimum I need to clean up from last night

Good Morning Pokeys! It is always great to see you grammadee even if it's just for a few minutes. Linda I love how easy those SG papers are to fussy cut. Yesterday ended up a pretty lazy day, mostly cleaning in my scrap space, I have quite a stack of pages in various stages of done. So those are corralled, and I'm cooking up plans to finish them. I'm hopeful I can use some of the Sketember sketches with them. Today Rudy will be here for practice. I have a coupon for a free pizza, and that child never doesn't want pizza lol. So Pizza and trip to the "duck park" - there is a park near Bass Pro and we feed the ducks when we go. It's going to be very humid today, I'm sure we won't last long at the park. I'll make sure we don't lol.

Good Sunday morning, Pokeys! I am not a good-or a patient--fussy cutter, but that was a great way to use the crop time, Linda. There are a few companies that include sheets of images to cut apart. P-13 is one of them. And Quarter 3(?). And Vicki Boutin does LIVE's where she fussy cuts images out of papers that could be used whole. For one of the SCT events, she included a sheet of images just for fussy cutting, but I don't think her AC lines usually include those. Dd's family is planning to come out here today to help with a few things in the yard and garden. Yesterday when the weather was beautiful, they went back-to-school shopping. Today it is chilly and feels like it might rain. But they won't have time during the week, so I guess they will do the outside work today. Today I plan to do prep for making relish. If I can cut up all the veggies and wash the jars today, then it won't be such a huge job tomorrow when I can shred the veggies, add the sauce, cook the relish and put it in jars. Yesterday I pulled one ginormous zucchini from the garden and baked some muffins and a couple of cakes. While I was down at the garden pulling this one out, I saw that there are actually a few MORE of those behemoths out there. I guess that is what happens when you get some rain...
