I went to bed oblivious, and woke up to this? My first thought was he cheated. I can't believe that many American's listened to that pile of crap and voted for him. My first thought was that I need to move renewing my and my kidās passports to the top of my priority list. The forms have been filled out for a few weeks but there hasnāt been a time when weāve all been free to go since both parents have to be present to renew DDās. This morning she asked me how many hours weād have to drive to get to Canada. |

Sadly, I think I am going to have to do a 'turtle' for quite a while until my horror turns to numbness... immerse myself in my sewing, x-stitching, read a LOT of books, and do very little - if any - social media reading/watching. The first 4 years were bad enough for me, and my relationship with my DH. I know that's not the best way to handle it, but mental health survival and all... I've spent most of today watching knitting YouTubes while knitting, and preparing a far more elaborate evening meal than is necessary for just me to eat. No news, this is the first 'politics' thread on here that I've read - I've mostly been on another crafting site that restricts political posts. And I don't even live in the US, nor am I a US citizen, but I do fear for the fallout around the world. |

All any here remember is that gas was cheaper. Yeah, gas was cheaper. Because we were in the middle of a pandemic, and no one was going anywhere!!! Also, they are so insular, that they have no idea that fuel and grocery prices are rising all over the world - it's nothing to do with the US president, but more to the wars raging in Ukraine and the middle east. Oh, and US gas prices are still incredibly low, compared to what we're paying in Europe. But donāt you know, Biden is responsible for those wars as well (according to them)? He is the cause for all that is bad in the world. But of course Trump was not the reason for anything. |

Well I'll be happy for the miracles his supporters think will happen to start immediately.
I'll have so much more money, cheap gas and groceries, Mexicans merrily building a wall for free, and think of all those black jobs our friends can now have! I tell you, America is surely going to be great again with even less birth control choices and more restrictions than we've ever had.

I expected Velveeta Voldemort to win. Still not happy about it. I said to DS this morning "this is the last time he can be president" and DS said "yeah, Auntie says he'll try to change the constitution and stay and the only way he'll leave is in a coffin". So needless to say I need to have a conversation with "Auntie" as to what's appropriate discussion with her nephew. I'm starting to think "Auntie" may be on a watchlist somewhere  |

I cannot post the words I want to say. I will just put it here instead of my social pages: you reap what you sow. I work at a church and decided last night that after the Christmas choir concert, I will be stepping back from attendance. Today is the day a small group attend a noon prayer meeting. God help the first person that says something to me. I worry about my daughter and my niece. I quit church. I will not sit in a house of worship with people who support Donald Trump and pretend to be Christians. They also worship Trump which goes against everything the Bible teaches. |

I had to hold my sobbing daughter in my arms this morning. She's 17.5.
I was on the phone with my 20-year-old daughter as she tried to get ready for class. She was mid panic attack. She has a medical condition that makes pregnancy extremely high risk for her.
My husband is currently looking at job openings in Canada and English-speaking European countries willing to sponsor us on a visa. We are done with this country.

Iām just sick about this. (Understatement of the millennium). I know Iāll be okay - white, homeowner, good job etc. but Iāve never been okay with the āget mine, screw everyone elseā attitude. This is going to be a terrible 4 years. BUT maybe this is what the country needs to wake the f**k up. Thereās no reasoning with his followers but when they start to suffer or get poorer, whatever, maybe we can climb out of this hole in four years. Jesus that feels like a lifetime.
