Between camping, 4-H activities and dog shows we just do several long weekends throughout the year. We've already done one 4 day camping trip with my parents in February. We did a combo camping trip/dog show this past weekend that was very relaxing. We have a 4 day dog show in August, a 4 day camping trip in September and a week long dog show in October. All of them are in either Washington or Oregon. I also have a 4 day country music festival the first weekend in August in Sweethome Oregon that I go to. I think this is my 11th year

Going home to see my dad and siblings in July. Hoping to get to Myrtle Beach in August. Otherwise we're hanging out at home with lots of swim team meets, ballet intensives, and some working out for me! Where is home? Myrtle Beach is a great place to visit. I enjoy choosing the different restaurants on 'Restaurant Row'. Summer is a good time of more intensive training for swim & ballet. Enjoy your workouts.

Vegas without the kids will be a very enjoyable time. Senona is a place that I haven't been to. Where will you be staying in Vegas? Are you going to any shows?

Annual trip with our car club. This year we're cruising the Blue Ridge Parkway down to NC then o. The way back we're going to the Virginia Intern'l Raceway so the guys can drive the track. There will also be go-cart races for the guys and girls. i haven't seen the final itinerary yet but I know our group leader will have plenty of unique places for us to stop at for sightseeing, shopping and eating. He always plans the best trips. Can't wait until next month. The Blue Ridge Parkway is spectacular. The many twists & turns ake it a challenging drive. What car club do you belong to? As a spectator, it is fun to see many cars on 'a car run'. The most unique one I saw was in northern Holland with Alfa Romano (?) cars seemingly coming out of the Northern Sea. Have fun!

Nothing big here. We're in the process of paying off all our debt so we decided to do a couple of short day trips with the kids instead of something big. The girls are doing soccer camp in July and my mom will probably be coming to visit at some point. Stay cations are a lot of fun. It is so great to visit where you live, knowing that many people spend a lot of money to see what is i your backyard. Check groupon & your Chamber of Commerce for discounts. Paying off debit rather than keeping spending is a great way to teach your children about personal responsibility. Thank you! We're only an hour and a half from the ocean so my BFF and I will bring all of our kids as often as we can because it's the cost of gas and we'll bring all of the food we need. We have some movie tickets that we've been holding onto and Finding Dory comes out either the last day of school or the next day so I think we'll use those as a start off to summer! And we'll do the $1 summer movies a few times throughout the summer. I do watch Groupon too - I just purchased a round of mini golf for the 5 of us for $26 - saved $15! And we gave the kids a few options of what they'd like to do this summer (a day trip to Boston to walk around and see the sights, Six Flags, etc) and I believe they chose Six Flags. And I know my MIL is going to take them to another amusement park by herself. We're planning a big trip next year after the majority of our debt is paid off - it'll be a 2 week trip to Michigan to see my family and then Wisconsin to see DH's family and we're planning on stopping a few places along the way that the kids will enjoy (Cedar Point for one). They understand how much that trip will cost and are willing to not do anything huge this year so we can do everything we want next summer.

We're spending 10 days in Anaheim and LA. It will be DD's first CA trip, and my first that isn't for work. Make sure you go to Huntington beach. The Ruby's at the e d of the pier is a kinda cheesie, classic memory. Are you going to Santa Monica? I like to have a dress up a bit and have lunch at ghe Polo Lounge (outside) at tbe Beverly Hills Hotel. Just walking in & seeing the huge bouquet of flowers in the main entrance is an 'experience' to remember. I park outside the hotel & walk by the apartments. The landscaping is beautiful.

We have rented a house on Long Beach Island, NJ with a few other family members. We have never done this before, so we will either love it and make it a yearly event or hate each other and never speak again!
Ds has been invited on both a camping trip and a beach vacation with my bff and her family and he is attending a weeklong basketball camp at a local college. Trying to round out the rest of the summer for him. He is almost 13 so he is too old for day camp but too young to be left to his own devices all summer!

Cedar Point is fun! You can also involve them with maps (old school) & learning about other places along the way. Tell them about your personal memories at various places that you had, family events & similar. Have fun in the planning

My DH is taking me to Paris for 8 days as an early 50th birthday gift in June! I am soooo excited! Then in July my parents and my brother and his family are coming here for a week. We will head to Austin after that to get my DS moved into his new apartment and doing some antique hunting in Comfort, Tx.

I know AAA used to give you maps if you were planning a trip so I think we'll contact them. Our plan is going to do Niagara Falls overnight on the way to Michigan, stop to visit my mom for a few days and then drive to the west side of Michigan and stay overnight. And then hop a ferry over to WI. Stay and visit DH's family for a few days and then hit Chicago, Cedar Point, Hershey and then home. We're a family of planners so we've been discussing this trip for almost a year (we originally were going to go this summer but decided to hold off one more year). And thanks, we'll have a blast planning it!!

Are you going on your own or part of a tour? September is a good time to go as most of the tourists have gone home. Check the weather forcasts as it can be quite warm. I spent a week in Switzerland in 2003. Stayed in Bern & did day tours to Lucerne, Interlaken, Moritz, Black Forest & other places. Take lots of pics & share.

My husband and I plus 2 other couples are renting a beach house for a week in our city. Right on the water! And the best part is that we can run home for random odds and ends if we have to since we will be in our home town! Where is home? & what beach? Stay-cation at it's best!

We usually go for a week in Spring and Fall. We just (like three hours ago) got back from a car trip to So Cal. Hiking and the observatory in Griffith Park, Hollywood Blvd, Santa Monica, Ronald Reagan Museum, Universal Studios, Queen Mary. It had been at least 15 years since we were in the LA area. It was fun, but I'm glad to be home and looking forward to sleeping in my own bed.
Not sure of our fall trip yet.
During the early summer we usually go to Phoenix for a weekend (if we can get cheap airfare). And we do a weekend camping trip a couple of times during summer months.

We're taking a family vacation to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware for a week in July.
DS is going to Wisconsin for 10 days in early July with some HS friends to stay with another HS friend and his family at their lake house. It will be his fourth summer there.
In September DS has a week-long business conference at a resort outside San Diego and we may be leaving DS alone for the first time since he will have lots of marching band commitments.

We're spending a week in Mexico diving with the boys, then the boys are flying to Newfoundland for a month, and DH and I are are heading to Europe for two weeks (London/Paris/Edinburgh/Dublin, with a 4-day whiskey tour thrown in). After the boys get back, my oldest and I head to choir camp (him as a counsellor, me as staff) and DH and my youngest head to Sask. to visit my in-laws. Where in Mexico? There are a LOT of great places to dive. Do you have family in Newfoundland (guessing on your 'Dildo' sign)? Have you researched the recent budget tnat the NFLD Gov't passed? Many new taxes for residents & tourists. Your overseas trip sounds like fun. I haven't been to Scotland or Ireland but have great memories of both London & Paris. Have a good time with the whiskey tour. Your family is spread all over Canada. Sask is so different than Nfld. This explains a lot (to me) about your wicked sence of humour. Enjoy choir camp. So great that you had an imprompt concert for thr PMO while you were on tour this spring.

Just quick trips here: Dh and I are 2 nights in Stratford for the Shakespeare Festival and then 2 nights in Toronto Camping somewhere in Ohio (I think, dh is supposed to be making the reservation. He has been looking at sites for over a month) Somewhere else for a weekend trip. What plays are you seeing in Stratford? Stratford is close to my hometown (Baden). There is a fish & chip 'dive, that has delicious buttertarts, on the Buttertart Trail, outside of downtown on the way towards Goderich. Yummy. Are you seeing any shows in Toronto? The city-pass is a good $ deal, depending on where you are going. Camping isn't 'my thing', but enjoy! A mystery trip as well. Take pics & share when you come home.

We have a timeshare to use each year so we try to alternate driving and flying trips each summer. In June my son does British Soccer Camp and then goes with my mom and does a week long Art Camp at the museum. Then we are headed to Orlando for about 12 days. Universal and Legoland are on the list. Every other year we travel to a family reunion and this year we fly to Arizona for 3 days. My son will come back and try to attend a Bible School. He loves to stay busy and I'm thankful my mom loves to take him to some of these things. I've love to go to Cedar Point and try out the Valravn with DH. Last year I took my son to Kings Island with a friend and it was a lot of fun since I hadn't been for 20 years or so. He isn't ready to ride those type of roller coasters yet. I always feel bad about spending more money going to amusement parks after vacation, so going with a friend saved us money.

So great that you had an imprompt concert for thr PMO while you were on tour this spring. DH an I were in Cozumel in November. We're staying in Riviera Maya this time because I promised myself that, the next time we went, we would dive the Cenotes. I'm a bit concerned with my 14-year-old and the water temperature in the Cenotes - the kid has no body fat. My parents live in Newfoundland and the boys stay with them every summer. It gets them out of the city and gives them a glimpse of what my childhood was like. The London et al trip is a for DH's and my 20th anniversary. It's also the first trip since I think 2011 that we aren't going diving. DH is a big Scotch fan so the trip kind of grew from that. Dublin and Paris, though, are for me.

We'll be doing our annual trip to Christina Lake, British Columbia with our boat ... this year for three weeks We will take in a wine tour in the Oliver, BC area and hit the Walmart in Colville, Washington during our stay 3 weeks beside a fresh water lake in BC is Canadian heaven. Stock up on the Rotel! Check out the Campbells cooking (slow cooker, stove top baking) sauces as they are not available in Canada. Sweet Korean BBQ, Applewood for pulled pork, Chicken pot-pie are really good. There are also 'Chilis Restaurant' cooking sauces that taste great. Enjoy the wine

Ill be taking the kids to the UK for a couple of weeks to visit their grandparents, then I'll head off to Greece to volunteer with the refugees again for a couple of weeks. DH and DS will meet me in Rome. DS recently did a school project on Ancient Rome, so he wants to see the coliseum. We'll probably visit Venice and Pompeii and spend some time on the beach - possibly hop over to Sicily, not sure yet. DD will be back in Japan working as a camp counselor. I also have to fit in a trip to the US among all that too!!

We are having a staycation. Hubby has 2 conferences to go to and Tori leaves for bootcamp July 18th. We will be enjoying our pool, a bunch of music perfomances (tons of places have free summer concerts), the boardwalk, weekley fireworks, movies in the park, soccer games, friends over, camps, oceam, movie/game nights, bbq's, boat days , riverwalk and so on.... Enjoy your summer and the music pool, fireworks, movies and the fellowship that comes from these activities. Stay-cations are great as you don't have the hassle of packing & all that comes with that. Wishing Tori all the best for boot camp. ( ( ( hugs) ) )
