It sounds positively horrific. And all the more frightening because there is no idea as to the motive yet.

This is horrible. They are reporting that the shooter is a local and with all the cameras in Vegas they can hopefully piece this all together. I just wish they could have prevented it.

my entire family is in vegas. Hopefully safe at home. I woke up to a text from my brother in Vegas saying him and his wife were safe. Then I turned on the news and saw the live update. Dear God.

It took explosives to get into his room and stop him. No good guy with a gun could have done anything.
And that he was using high capacity automatic weapons is why he was able to kill and injury so many people so quickly.

No indication of ties to Islamic terrorism. Stephen Paddock was a 64 yo white male. Nevada resident. Had a lawsuit against a casino 5 years ago.

He's a resident of Mesquite, Nevada and they are reporting known to police. If I remember right, it's just over an hours drive to Vegas.

Why the ever loving fuck do people have machine guns??? Cindy Because it's our 2nd amendment rights of course. And naturally those rights would be violated by laws against owning machine guns. Oh and the NRA of course keeps its eye on those rights by funneling money to our corrupt congress. Does that answer your question?

All the security at the concert did nothing. He had a perfect vantage point from a room on the 32nd floor.

My brother, his wife, baby, and his middle daughter live there. Not close enough to have been in harms way, unless they were there, but I doubt they were. We have a text into them, as well. Prayers for all affected!

I just woke up to hearing this. I am just sick over this. So many times we have been to Vegas (usually 3-4x a year) for concerts. This just hits to close to home for me. WTF is wrong with people?

Horrible. Our world breaks my heart. I just couldn't like this, but I echo it. I heard this news on the radio while driving my daughter and her friend to school and we all just sat in silence. I hate the world we're giving them sometimes. Im sitting in my closet trying to start my day and having a hard time doing so. I feel so heartbroken for the hundreds of people and families affected. I am determined to get up and go out and do something beautiful in the world today. Probably after I spend some time crying in the shower first.
