I just heard on the news.... an active shooter an a concert at the Mandalay. Has anyone else heard this?
*lets not make this a political thread anymore. Political posts tend to have a downward spiral...so let's use this as a way of showing concern for those who were there and updates. As it is, I have one friend in the hospital and another has not returned texts. I am hoping he is safe.

Omg, this is so awful.
The shooting started during the concert and the sounds of the shots, and subsequently people fleeing, were caught on video. There is nothing graphic in the video but it is very disturbing.

Checking Twitter. One persons says the gunman is shooting from an upper floor of the hotel. Others report multiple casualties based on police scanners.  Horrible. |

shit CNN just said something about multiple locations..no confirmation yet. One suspect may be dead. Hope they all die painfully. |

We go to concerts all the time and I've been to Vegas probably 8 times. This is so horrifying. I feel for all the EMS and ER and PD etc staff as well.

I need to go to bed but I can’t stop following the news on Twitter. I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year, and have been going since like forever. It is like my second home. So sad and scared for everyone right now. |

It sounds like a shooter is down. Unknown if there are more. There were lots of reports at other hotels, but *so far* they seem unfounded.
This is just awful.
ETA: LVMPD just confirmed that one shooter is down.

Police reported that they believe there are no more shooters! They are supposed to give a full briefing in about 10 minutes, but I am going to bed. I dread what the news is going to be when I wake up tomorrow. Good night everyone.
