Hey girls! I'm starting a thread for chit chat just in case there's some people who are not keen on jumping in to the private message and might want to take part here instead (I am sure I would be too scared to speak in a PM with a bunch of people who seem to know each other). So we can chat here, or chat on the PM, whatever you guys would like I am still struggling to get going this month. I have made a background for the Sketchy Saturday sketch and now need to start doing some serious layering under my photo. I am just not feeling the mojo that much, I go to my craft room, look at my desk and wander off again! I must go and make myself sit down and do something.

I'm tired this morning - and sore from all the walking and swimming this weekend. So I'm off to a slow start this week. I'm scanning layouts in preparation for putting them in an album - and then I have photos on my desk to sort....hopefully at some point, I can work on cards...and layouts...

Well, I am enjoying my steroid burst, even if I haven't done any actual scrapping! I've been editing and uploading photos all day yesterday and today, in between doing lots of knitting and crochet. I'm taking slightly less medication now so it might taper off, but I'm making the most of it while it lasts! I felt so motivated last month to see how much I could achieve even when I felt rubbish. So I am determined to keep going and power through as much as possible. And new photos always inspire me to scrap

thanks for the thread kiwigirl i do hope it will draw out some of our more quiet team members. or maybe they're not quiet and the rest of us just talk too much?? craftykitten make sure you take points for all that stuff you're doing. if you don't feel well enough to scrap, you deserve points for what you do feel well enough for. and again, you are a freakin rockstar girl, i admire your courage so much!!

i do hope it will draw out some of our more quiet team members. or maybe they're not quiet and the rest of us just talk too much?? HAHA I think the rest of us just talk too much! hee hee hee... I'm at work, on my lunch break, wishing I was home in front of my scrap desk. My older DD and I went to IKEA Saturday afternoon and enjoyed walking around seeing all the stuff and buying two new Raskog carts (black). I wanted the blue but decided the black was much better (will go with my brown-black Expedits). I spent three hours yesterday clearing off my scrap desk and putting all that stuff in the carts! My table is clear again, I have plenty of room to move things around while scrapping AND everything is right there! The two carts are on each side of my chair and can easily be pushed out of the way. I did one card and one layout last night but have not had time to take a picture or upload. craftykitten I hope you're feeling better soon. Chemo is tough but you can do it. Hang in there!

I have brown/black expedits too MDscrapaholic but only one Raskog and it's the aqua. I would love another one to get stuff off my desktop though. I would love a dedicated mixed media Raskog. In fact, if I go to one of the cheaper shops that sell them here in the UK (Hobbycraft or DunElm) I might get another and do that. It would mean I would have to get rid of some of the crud that accumulates in my craft room to make room but I am good at making crud disappear! craftykitten what the other girls said, you are a rockstar and I do think about you a lot and wonder how you're doing. Glad you're back on our team again! I am thinking of you too Linda and hope those numbers are coming down for you.

craftykitten - you're in my prayers MDscrapaholic -I would love to shop at IKEA - there's a new-ish one about 90min or so from here...one day, maybe... kiwigirl - thanks. saw my dr this morning to f/u on the low iron and we talked about the glucose numbers and she increased one of my meds (I'm on three for the diabetes - and they are all now at max dose). Really hoping that gets the numbers under control. It seems like we up the dose and my numbers get better for a while and then they get worse again and we up another dose...rinse and repeat.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I really don't feel brave, or strong, or like I'm doing very well. But I just have to get through this.
I've spent all day working on a photo order - editing loads and putting 2 on a 6x4, 96 prints in total....and now the half price code is not working. I am LIVID. Just let me get a hold of the person on live chat for help...

Fingers crossed for you Linda, hope those numbers stay down! I couldn't believe how much stress affected my BG level. The cat has been ill and I had a bad week last week, and the week before that too actually and my BG is still higher than I would like. But man, some days the numbers were shocking me! Scary. Hope you got the code sorted craftykitten, how frustrating! I have done the whole, adding 2 pics to a 6x4 thing before and it's so tiring! Why oh why does nobody print 3x4s? Grrrrrr!

Yay craftykitten! And MDscrapaholic and kiwigirl are convincing me I need one of the raskog's or a knock off. I've been on the fence about one for months. But all the stuff on my table really drives me nuts! I will probably pick one up at Michael's since it's a lot closer than IKEA for me.

I haven't been able to do much of anything at my craft table this month. It seems like I'm constantly in my car shuttling kids to and from schools and appointments, and when I'm not doing that, I'm doing yard work. I did take two of my DDs to a couple of town harvest festivals over the weekend, so I'll have some new photos to scrap, and that makes me happy. But I honestly don't know when I'll be able to get back to my craft table. There's just too much on my to-do list. (sigh... )
It's still early in the month. I'm still hopeful I can finish a couple of simple projects. Keep posting your beautiful cards and pages and inspiring me!

Hope you got the code sorted craftykitten , how frustrating! I have done the whole, adding 2 pics to a 6x4 thing before and it's so tiring! Why oh why does nobody print 3x4s? Grrrrrr! Does anyplace in the states let you print 2 on a 4x6? I used to be able to do it at Walgreens online, and yeah, they'd be two of the same, but I didn't care that much. But now if I want smaller than 4x6, they will only let me print them as FOUR 2x3s. BOOOOOOO. I have all these 6x8 album pages that need 3x4s. Thanks for starting the thread. I didn't mind the PM, but I can't click LIKE in there, which I like to do when people say hi or whatever so I can acknowledge without necessarily having to add an entire new post. I am going to a crop on Saturday and I hope to get a bunch of cards done then!

Yeah I do similar stinkerbelle and use Photoshop to put two photos on a page. Then there was a problem with uploading but that was my error, then there was a problem with the code but they fixed it. Those photos had better then turn out nice! But it's still cheaper than using my home printer so it will be worth all the hassle.

I do that at Walgreens ( generally I go in & do it on their scanner as a collage print.) 2. If I have a specific size I want I can do it the exact size on my digital program ( Artisan from creative Memories/Forever) & put it on a 12×12 & I have printed at Costco. 3.Also I have a 3x4 die that I use to cut down Pictures ( it's amazing how much background you can cut out!)

Hmmmmm, so it's 9:30pm on Tuesday. Do I watch Bosch or do I get onto Photoshop and do a layout? I used to watch a $h!t ton of TV, but ever since you girls got me hooked on scrapping again I've hardly watched any TV. I blame Sketchtember!

I am struggling on with a LO, I'm doing JaneB's My Way challenge but it's taking a long time! Hopefully I can finish it off tomorrow. I definitely think I went too hard out in September and now I'm paying the price, the mojo has gone!

kiwigirl - I'm sorry. Set it aside and hopefully it'll finish up easier tomorrow. I have to admit this month's challenges aren't inspiring me as much as previous months - there are quite a few I don't have supplies for (more than usual) and some of the others - the numbers aren't working for me (they call for 5 of something and I keep using 3). I think my mojo is struggling also after several months of churning out lots of layouts, I'm off to a somewhat slower start this month. And I keep looking guiltily over at my sewing table - there's an unfinished project sitting there too...

You could do both... I have a laptop on my desk for watching stuff on while I work or listening to Audible. I love Bosch, it's bloomin' brilliant
My hand is improving. I've been cuddling hot water bottles at night and it seems to have helped. I was finishing up my two examples for Saturday's Cardtober and it took me an hour to tie two bows. An hour.. for two tiny bows!! Then I had to lie down
My Wacom graphic tablet arrived today. Silly me thought I'd be able to jump right in and use it but it's taking some getting used to and now I have cramp in my right hand I'll have to limit my use of it because my right thumb joint is worn out and can only do small amounts of work, hence the reason I use my left hand for the mouse. Still, I have options to split the work between both hands so that's good.
I'm not picking up many points either; like Linda I'm using the wrong amounts or simply not putting enough on my projects
Well, I've had my chocolate and umpteen pills, so I'm off to bed. See you all tomorrow

I have never used a Wacom tablet JaneB but I can imagine how hard it is to get used to one! Nice morning here, the sun is coming up over the other side of the valley and it's looking amazing. I am off grocery shopping this morning but there's a Hobbycraft (the UK's bad version of Michael/JoAnns) near Sainsbury's so I might pop in and see if there's anything interesting there that I have to have, maybe it will kick start the mojo! Should be golfing later (I don't play, I caddy) so a good walk and hopefully I can finish off the LO on my desk eh!

They do so much more than my old Bamboo - and I've only got the basic small one! I can have different options for the pen depending on the program, I can make menus that appear as if by magic. It'll be brilliant once I get the hang of it
It's cleaning day here - which in reality means a good natter with my friend while she makes us all neat and tidy Ooh and I've just remembered, she'll be bringing this rather stupendous Halloween wreath I've bought from her friend how sews them!

JaneB I'm so glad to hear your hand is doing better! I have been spending time trying to clean and organize things. I have an online crop this weekend so I'm hoping that will keep me going. I really have to start photographing the two tubs I have of my adult sons school artwork so I can get that into books for them. But it's such a huge task I keep putting it off. That's time I could be scrapping lol.

well...I finished up the Okinawa 2017 layouts and am scanning them now. Waiting for the very last one to dry (nuvos) before sharing it.
Not sure what I'll tackle next - lots of options on the to-do list...should I work on Okinawa 2018? Family 2018? Finish up DD18's high school album? Finish DD12 Junior GS album?

I want to see the Halloween wreath JaneB I hope you'll show us on one of your fabulous pages soon joyfulnana that does sound a big job photographing school artwork! I don't blame you putting that one off. What did you decide to tackle next Linda? I did a LO today, channeling one of my favourite scrappers ever. I think it may have got my mojo back so that's good. I think I might go and shuffle some papers on my way to bed. Sometimes if I pick a background paper (usually white or black cardstock so that's not hard), photo and maybe some papers, it gets me thinking overnight and I pick up easily in the morning. So I might try that and hope for the best!

kiwigirl - I haven't actually SCRAPPED anything else yet between a phone call from DD18 and a phone call from my mum but I did sort my military embellishments into Navy/generic military and AirForce/Marines/Army....I had a BUNCH of Navy stuff mixed in with the rest. And then I pulled out the letters and photos from DS's boot camp and A-school and sorted those by layout in preparation for finally getting them scrapped. That might be the next project actually -to get started on that.

It will likely be in the photobook somewhere but here's the Halloween wreath kiwigirl
https://www.instagram.com/p/BoyYAlFHDbz The new chair is great mostly. But it's wheels are new and sticky and it won't turn corners too well yet. It needs scuffing up, but in the meantime it's not doing my hands (or shoulders) any favours. I was in a lot of pain last night after my first day using it. Hopefully I'll get settled and have it working smoothly over the weekend
I haven't done any scrapping yet either, just cards. I'm intending to do a video for my card today for tomorrow's challenge, and then if I have the energy tackle Sketchy Saturday or something. But it's only 6.35am and the bones are already creaking and groaning
