They settled with Ranger before court so no precedent has been set, right? Help, US law Peas!

I felt like Ranger Tonic caved by settling. I really hope SU fights and fights hard. WRMKs letterpress was way before the misti, so she copied them. And I didn’t think I could like her any less, guess I was wrong. It seems like she will not be satisfied until she is the only stamp positioning tool

I just don't get how she can do this. There are zillions of products that are copies of others. What a sad lady she must be to have to hunt potential copiers down and take them to court.

Ug I still have no idea how she managed to get a patent for the MISTI which was copies from existing devices. Maybe someone should challenge that?

This woman is really a pimple on the ass of the stamping community.

Ugh, what a nasty woman. I agree about the letterpress thing - someone should sue her for copying it. She must have been friends with the judge who gave her the patent or something.

No matter what the outcome of this, it's not going to stop the Chinese manufacturers from making inexpensive stamping platforms, nor people DIY'ing their own. I'm quite happy with my free CD case + piece of random craft foam solution, rather than a vastly overpriced piece of plastic that seems to have a lot of reported problems. *headshaking*

Unfortunately, I am not surprised that she is bringing legal action against Stampin' Up, but I am surprised she waited this long to do it.
I really wish that WRMK would sue MSP for infringement, since hers is an adaptation of their letterpress, and she referenced the WRMK letterpress when she applied for hers.

Sad - but certainly not surprising. Once a bully, always a bully. Until someone stands up to her. That's the only thing that stops bullies.

I wonder if Stampin Up is selling enough of these to engage in a prolonged lawsuit and if they have deep pockets. She seems to see them as a threat. I hope I have enough stamp positioners to last me through my stamping life. Looks like Europe will be the only place to go to avoid buying one of those raspberry things. The WRMK peg positioner doesn’t work very well for me unfortunately but I gave it a go.

I appreciated knowing. Otherwise I might have been tempted to take one home, although I have the Tonic stamp positioners, so I really don't need anything more. However, I am considering buying the SU version before they are taken off the market. I'd better do it before it is too late.

If you're at all handy, or know someone who is, it's pretty darn easy to make your own stamp positioner for a few bucks. They're nothing more than a rigid clear surface on hinges after all. Just do a youtube search for "DIY stamp positioning tool" and take your pick. The one that uses an IKEA hinged picture frame looks to be amongst the simplest. If you only need a small one, a CD or DVD case is even easier.

I'm trying to downsize and already have the Stampendous and a MISTI that I bought before she started her crap. I'm seriously thinking of getting the SU one both because I'm afraid they will discontinue it and to support them!!
But I really, really don't need it. But now they even have a nice bag for it

This is me. I'm trying to keep spending and supplies in check, but I have 2 full size THSP's and 3 [yes 3!] TH Travel SP's. Oh, and a Stamoholic which I haven't used since I got my Tim's because the Tim's are so much better.

I could always send across a few contraband SU platforms if they are discontinued. None of MSP's crap applies in New Zealand.

I have 2 of Tim's big ones and two of the travel...I also bought 2 of the same as me for my daughter for Christmas...I also can not stand a bully...and one that is far from honest, she did not come up with the original herself...

I spotted three Tim Holtz travel sized platforms at my Tuesday Morning for 12.99 each. I bought two so I think I have a lifetime supply. Our store is very tiny so big stores may have more. They had the WRMK also for a few dollars more. They are from the same batch as mine I guess and there are hairline cracks emanating from the peg holes just like the ones I bought earlier this year. Maybe they will last forever but I also had some shifting on mine so I don’t use them anymore.

I still want the Stamparatus. I like the idea of making a border so quickly and easily.

My crafty friend who has a Stamparatus likes it very much. She has the other brands also but she uses her Stamparatus a lot. She did add a thin layer of something to the base because she had that stamping in the corner issue and that solved it.
