If every company named their cardstock pink and red and blue, etc it would get confusing. Why? You could say SU! Pink, or LF Pink, or whatever. Or just... not call it anything but the colour name, does it really matter what brand your particular cardstock came from? *headtilt* I don't understand how it would be confusing. Well, SU has probably a dozen or more shades of pink, at least, some retired, some current. Some of the shades are quite close, as well, but slightly more yellow or blue or whatever. I do think the alliteration is to help people remember the names, I know it helps me. I have a lousy working memory, so any tip or trick to help me remember things is welcome. You should see me muttering to myself when I have to run into the grocery store for a couple of things, lol. Seriously, though, those alliterative colour names are burned into my brain. I do like to know exactly what colour I'm using because I often match ink and cardstock and accessories. I'm not necessarily good with colours so I need all the help I can get.

That makes sense - I guess It's never really been an issue for me, given I have no inks that match paper on purpose, and certainly no 'retired' paper colours (that idea seems downright silly!) Still think it'd be just fine if they used more normative colour names though. I know why they don't, which is to make people buy their overpriced stuff exclusively, and in the pure capitalism sense it's the right move.

I have no particular loyalty to any one company, but when I find ink colors that match my favorite colors of card stock, I try to get the re-inker, too. I have several CTMH re-inkers to go with my ink pads. However, I really like and use Momento inks more these days. I only have one SU ink pad.
Unfortunately, I don't know where to get re-inkers for Momento inks. I have black, but I want some of the colors. Anyone know who sells the re-inkers for Momento?

Marco Paper carries them; so does Oozak, and theirs are 20% off. You have to go to ink pads and then inks, and then pick the tsukineko brand to get to them.

You're welcome Any time I can enable, it makes me happy. And both of those shops are small businesses, and that makes me happy, too.

I have seen them on Joann's, Amazon, Etsy, Ebay and Ellen Hutson. Make sure you are spelling it correctly when you do a search. Many people spell it Momento, but it is Memento

In defense of SU at least the color names are close to the colors they are trying to represent. Hunter Green looks like a hunter green. Mello Moss is a moss color. I don't mind the names for inks. If I had to reink one of my blue ink pads, for example, it's a lot easier to find Tempting Turquoise instead of trying to find light blue.
Many of the craft companies go a little bonkers naming their colors. The colors make no sense. You get crazy things like Very Canary Yellow Bird Blue. I made this name up, lol. It does seem at times they want a cute name over trying to represent the colors. Least SU treats their color combinations like a grown-up Crayola crayons collection.
Even DMC gives names to their lines of floss. You have names like Celadon Green, Straw, Pumpkin, Autumn Gold, etc... As a cross-stitcher this is so important because you want the right gradients and blends when your stitching so your project won't be an incoherent hot mess. I always think of my inks that way too.
