I'm thrilled to say that I finished my album last night! I had more fun playing and working on this project than I've had in a long time. I used the FJ kit, added in some of HS winter wonderland papers and bits of last year's FJ kit. I did make my own album instead of buying a new one. I took an older SS and repainted it. Some years I go to the end of Dec. and some I go to the 26 which is our last official Christmas celebration with family. This year I chose the 26th for the simple fact that my album was super full! Definitely need the larger ring size next year! This has been my second year using the FJ kit and I've been thrilled with it! Lots of product, fun embellishments and well worth the price, despite the shipping costs. Ali's kit is pricey as well but I get way more product, better designs and nicer colors with the FJ kit.

I am still working on my album. I got sick right before Christmas and just was too tired to work on it and I had my grandson staying with me over his break so I wanted to enjoy my time with him. My plan is to finish it up this weekend. With moving and most of my stuff still in boxes my album was pretty simple but I am fine with that.

Reporting in as another finisher here!! WooooHoooo! I had the incentive of getting it done before we leave for a trip to India - I know that once we're back Christmas will seem like an age ago ( so last year <gg>) I still have to catch up with Project Life and though I would like to do as lasteve1 and leave my Christmassy bits and pieces out on my worktable, that's another thing I had to do before we leave. I'd been working in such a midden with stuff everywhere! Just as I was looking for four sheets of paper to cover the brown Simple Stories album I ended up using, I spotted four catalogue pages from a classy place we love visiting...they proved perfect for the purpose. I can't decide if I liked the 6 x 8 format or if the pages were just a bit too big for my style (I've done 4 x 6 for the last few years) I didn't use any of the page protectors that came with the album, nor did I use the tabbed chipboard pages, because they were just too thick when my folder was already rather full. I didn't buy a fresh new collection to use this year but used what I had...but although I still have enough to make several Christmas journals, I think that really, I've used everything I like. I'll donate the rest of it and buy something new and on trend (!) next year. Anyway, two last pages... Our Christmas card - I thought I'd done well to make 100 until I read of someone's amazing achievement (you know who you are nicolep ) Not that it's a competition... (I lose !) Last but not least, I baked Pecan Tassies and thought I'd include the recipe in a pocket between the pages. I am so done with Christmas now!!

Thank you hop2 and cristelina for kind words. I am always so inspired by the work shared here, yet seldom share mine. Don't know why! Yes indeed, cristelina, had sleepingbooty not gathered us all up and kept the December ball rolling right through the month, I would surely have felt less inspired and missed the company of so many creative and extraordinarily talented people here! Thank you sleepingbooty! Time to take a bow

Congrats to everyone who has completed their albums in the last couple of days. lasteve1 I've been loving following your album on insta. Your photos are gorgeous and I love your style. elegantsufficiency I'm so glad you found the perfect papers to cover your album, they're so beautiful. I love how your pages are not just a typical rectangle - that Christmas tree shape is fab. Beautiful pages you've shared too!

Wow, lovely pages ladies, and applause to all the finishers. I’m getting closer to deciding on where to start with mine, but that’s still a ways away. I got rid of the family who kept interrupting my quiet time yesterday, and got caught up with library work today, and tomorrow I’ll get my eyes checked so I can order some new glasses and refresh my look, and then... Well, then I have to do some organizing and counting for the taxman. But after that I can craft! By then I might have figured out what I want to do. I have some ideas. BTW cristelina thank you for the murderous Christmas kitties! That message made me laugh out loud, for real. I have your card at the front of the big box o’ 2P swap cards so I can see those adorable little monsters.

Great job, all of you album finishers! It’s such a nice feeling to complete this project. You are inspiring me to keep at it!
I set up and planned out my January scrapbook/journal tonight. So now I have Fall, December and January journals all going on at once. My 2019 pocket page scrapbooking is only finished through May. I’m glad things are settling down so I can get back to scrappy business!

I got some good foundation pages done for days 1-19. My kit only has numbers up to 25 so I have to figure out how to do the rest, since my family was here for New Years to celebrate. I’m hoping to get to make some progress over the next couple of weeks when my house and schedule gets back to the usual level of busy. I am getting some ideas from the pages you are all sharing though, so keep on bragging and showing off your work!

Re-reading the minimalism thread I remembered the crafty YTer Tanya Hubbard and went to look at her channel - she has a teeny tiny TN for her DD and some thoughts on the size and also the value/downside of preparing the pages in advance. TLDR - too small, no fun for her, because she wanted to be more crafty during the month. She did find it easy to finish though. Much to late for anyone else to be interested in, I’m forming an idea around the binders that they (Travelers Co.) sell for TNs - I’m thinking that a collection of handmade or store bought TNs stored in a binder to create a multi-volume Christmas Journal could be really fun. The binders are easy to decorate and hold the notebooks in with a wire that slots into the middle pages (like old magazine binders) and I can get the binder locally or on Amazon. I already have one Christmas TN and although it’s a bit small the size is fairly easy to work with and the binder style means no wasted real estate for binder hole margins, kwim? They store on my book shelf very easily. So that’s the plan, I think... www.jetpens.com/TRAVELER-S-COMPANY-TRAVELER-S-notebook-Binder-011-Regular-Size/pd/13655

I agree joblackford and think your multi volume binder idea is great. I cant get over the disappointment of opening a full size TN ring binder (which seems huge) only to find a set of skinny little pages inside. But yes, I imagine it would be quicker to work in that format and whilst it's not for me, I can imagine it's perfect for those with less time. I am currently sitting in 30C heat waiting for our room to be ready - not expecting or deserving any sympathy even though our overnight flight landed at 4.15am this morning and it's now 11.15am. The relevance of all of that? When I said I was so over Christmas, I didnt quite expect to be hearing local versions of The Holly and the Ivy and O Come All Ye Faithful in India! Weird...

Hello and happy new year! I've been lurking and not writing here recently as I should be working on my DD when I'm reading this, so I'll read for a bit and then go back to work, otherwise, I end up in a large rabbit hole and don't get anything done (I am very good at procrastinating). You've all been super inspirational though, especially you, sleepingbooty, you have been tireless on this thread and it is very much appreciated (I'm sorry the strikes stopped your Disney trip, hope you get to go soon). We have been hibernating quite a bit here and not left the house much, which has been rather lovely. I did manage to go and see Star Wars, which looking back in my old DD albums has become somewhat of a Christmas tradition - my OH will see a Star Wars (or if there's not been a SW film, some other) film with his dad and then a few days later I'll go to the fancy, plush cinema up the road and watch it by myself. I flipping love it. Also quite glad we're done seeing family for a while. I swear I get more introverted as I get older and every Christmas we are expected to see both sides of the family. My side is fine, but my in-laws can be hard sometimes. On boxing day my father in law decided to bring up the election results knowing full well Dave and I are on polar opposites to him politically wise "what do you think of Boris now, or are you still sore you lot lost?" You lot. Like it's a football match. UGH. I walked away and helped with the washing up while Dave took on a pointless debate. And then a day later my mother in law emotionally blackmailed Dave into giving her money because she didn't like her Christmas present. WTAF. I'm fuming from this, if anyone had said something like that to her all hell would have broken loose. D is upset too, this attitude is not what he was brought up to do. Aaaanyway, sorry about that rant. I guess I needed to get that off my chest! Dave suggested that we go somewhere with snow next Christmas and I am ALL FOR IT. I'd love to see Tromsø, D wants to do Lapland. I don't think we can afford either, but we shall see. Maybe somewhere in France? I just have days 30 & 31 left to do for my album. This is amazing for me! I've not felt so positively about a project like this for years. Normally I feel burnt out by now, but I'm thinking of doing extra pages (including documenting a cake - this recipe from Joy the Baker. I made this twice over the month and it's incredible, one of the best cakes I've eaten ever.). I am going to try and get the album finished this weekend, I want to get started on my OLW and think about how I want to document this year too.

Working on my DD today - hoping to finish it up over the weekend. Sent DH out to pick up the final photos (New Years Eve and Day) - timing-wise we're not doing anything for Epiphany this year...12th night is when we take DD19 back to college and then Epiphany itself...DH works and DD13 needs to head to bed early as school starts on the 7th. So I'll end with New Year's Day.

I have to say ordering several small orders of pictures made the project a lot less overwhelming plus I was able to scrap throughout the month. I found myself searching for pictures to enjoy the holiday more. Thanks to everyone for pushing me to keep going. My last batch of pictures arrived today so I’m excited to finish the project!!

I ordered photos weekly in the beginning of the month and a couple of times/week during the busy time. It gave me the opportunity to take photos I missed and to scrap as time allowed.

Hi!!
I took a long break and just got caught up. Can't wait to check out the pics of the finished DDs.
I was moving right along when my printer stopped printing black. Ugh! But I called Canon (after changing all the ink). They said it is likely a clogged head so they are sending a new one and a whole new pack of ink. What?!?! What kind of awesome customer service is that? I think I'm on day 21 so very close to the finish.
The kid was trucking along too but she also needs photos so we wait. I'll work on it a bit in the evenings after work next week. I go back on Monday. Boo.
After xmas we went to DC for a couple of days (it's only 3 hours away). We ran into some of our bestest friends there and got to spend a day together. It was amazing. Then a day in Berkeley Springs to take in the hot baths on the way home. Perfection.
The holidays were good, the tree is down (evil tree), and just one box of decorations left to put away. I would have put them away sooner but we got Disney+ and have been binging the Mandalorian. Amazing. Also LOVED the new Star Wars movie.
I'm grossed out about the world right now. The fires, the war, I might have to hibernate.
Oh, we are also house hunting. Yikes.
I have loved reading about everyone's adventures!
Happy New Year!!!
