I just bought Island Escape by Kaisercraft. Very pale hues with beautiful pink flowers as accents. I don't know how to link unfortunately, but I buy a LOT of tropical paper and this one is my favourite collection so far- even bought the matching album. I bought paper pack and embellishments but am now thinking I need to go back and buy the wooden embellishments too. I am just starting to scrapbook again and this is so perfect for my wedding photos from Fiji. I also bought their Ubud Dreams collection- beautiful blues and mosaic/arty designs! My grandson just returned from a Bali holiday staying in Ubud so I will get to use them straight away! Kaisercraft is Australian and I love that they put out new collections very regularly and have matching dies, stencil templates for misting as well as the collection papers and embellishments. Definitely one of my favourite companies and I actually use up a lot of their paper as I find it so easy to use all their co-ordinating bits and pieces. Corinne

I use Dove in the shower every morning. I use face washes and wipes at night ( if I remember!) but never miss using soap in the morning.

As long as I know their rough whereabouts, it's fine. We do kill Redback Spiders because they are poisonous and can make you really ill. I just found out that my daughter used a back scratcher and "diverted" the spider I mentioned before into my grandsons' bedroom so it didn't get into her room! He's been on holiday in Bali and returns home tomorrow. Corinne But...but....but.... How the HECK do you know the "rough whereabouts" of s SPIDER? I mean, they run. They hide. They move through the walls! Ha Ha! I think I may have to rethink my attitude. After reading your post, just out of interest I went to investigate the "rough whereabouts" of said spider in grandson's room, expecting to see it high on wall. As I slid his door open 4 furry legs curled around the edge! I nearly died!! I yelled so loud it ran away quickly, last seen heading UNDER his bed!! So yes, I now actually do know the whereabouts of this spider. For now....... Corinne

WAIT A MINUTE, HOLD THE BUS!!! AussieMeg and other Aussie peas.....if you have a big ass spider in your house like the one on the video you let it stay? Oh hell no! I would be out of there so fast. **shudder** As long as I know their rough whereabouts, it's fine. We do kill Redback Spiders because they are poisonous and can make you really ill. Haha!!! Yuk! I never ever kill Huntsman spiders, I let them roam free in my house. But if I found a gazillion babies in the house then I would definitely be getting out the can or Mortein on those suckers! Last night a reasonably big one was right up in the corner above my desk. I cunningly left my door open all night and yay, it is now half way down the hallway heading for my daughter's room! We never kill them but if they start jumping or RUNNING ACROSS THE FLOOR!!! we have a special spider catching device that we use to capture and release. It is a see through plastic cylinder that is closed at one end and open at the other. Place it over spider (it's about a metre long so no chance it will land on us) and it will run down to end. Cover open end with plate, run outside (door already open in readiness) and throw spider into garden. Corinne

We had a destination wedding with just the 2 of us , last year in Fiji. We have been together 24 years and cost was a huge part of the reason we chose to do it the way we did. We did tell our children beforehand (and my sister!) but otherwise it was a surprise. We actually announced it on Facebook with a picture of our rings before the ceremony. We actually planned to have a ceremony back home in our garden for about 100 guests 6 months later (when summer arrived) but due to a retaining wall problem our yard is a mess so we have postponed that idea. To be honest I don't even know if we will bother now. Those who care -close friends and family have all seen the video and photos and its seems like a lot of effort and money that we could use for other things, like a new bathroom and kitchen! Our wedding was absolutely perfect for us and I have no regrets. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Corinne

2 people were killed here and several others injured after letting off illegal fireworks this NYE. I LOVE (professional) firework displays, but don't know why people get such a kick out of illegal fireworks. Especially at 3am!! Idiots. I was just going to post this! Totally illegal where I live but people still do it every NYE. I decided to lock my cats up early - still daylight, 7pm to avoid the panic. Went to put them in their run, only to discover the teenager that lives behind us in his parent's garage had lit a big bonfire right by our fence and had already started partying with his friends! Cats were freaked out by the smoke and noise and refused to go in, so then had to corral them into our laundry later so they didn't run off. Luckily fireworks around here only go for about 1/2 an hour after midnight so it's not worth calling the police, but 3 am?? Just rude. Corinne

We have this book in our primary school library. It is a lovely book and really helps kids understand that different is just different.
I actually saw one of our students borrow it recently- he has Asperger Syndrome (and tells everyone!) so I think he was attracted by the title.
I did not know of the dog one, will definitely look for it in the new year to add to our collection.

I only have a double width built in wardrobe - would love a walk in! I have a big tub that I keep my winter clothes in and usually swap it out with my summer clothes at seasons end. As part of a major decluttering of my life, I gave 3 garbage bags of clothes and shoes to Goodwill, which has left my wardrobe workable for the first time in many years. I discovered that I really don't wear pants/jeans/skirts anymore so got rid of most of them. I buy dresses and wear them with long sleeved cardigans and tights/boots in winter and with short sleeved cardigans and sandals in summer. I decided to go by colour because I normally think of what to wear by colour- "think Ill wear my blue astronomy pattern dress" Another problem I have is not hanging clothes up straight away, often leaving them in clothes baskets. Now, I make sure they get hung up straight away. It has only been a week but I love having a tidy bedroom AND being able to find clothes quickly! Corinne

I love reading everyone's responses! I would like to figure out what is wrong with my old Cricut that I used maybe a dozen times and just stopped working. I belonged to a monthly CTMH card making club years ago and would like to find another one-it kept me motivated and I don't even make cards! My CTMH rep is no longer selling. I tried to use my Slice recently, haven't used it for a few years and it cuts all crooked. I need to try and work out if it can be fixed. Even though it will take longer to cut out letters ( I have a Cameo) I love some of the fonts I have for it. I must get my Cricut out too- hope it still works. I really want to use some of the tropical shapes I have on the beach one. They are both on my desk so it's not like they are out of sight, out of mind so this should definitely be a goal for me in 2017! Corinne

Well, in my part of Australia no-one is wishing me anything other than " Have a good day" or "See you" When it gets closer to the actual day, retail staff may say "have a great Christmas" but this early? Christmas decorations and music have been up for a while though. We are atheists and just received a lovely card which show the 3 wise men heading to Bethlehem. It's on display. It really is the thought that counts- someone cared enough to think of us and send us a card. We love the Christmas lights, we will play Michael Buble's Christmas CD and say Merry Christmas to everyone! (Happy Holidays is just not said over here, definitely seen as an American tradition) Recently I taught a unit of work on Celebrations to primary aged students- we learnt about Hannukah, Kwanzaa , Eid, Chinese New Year, alongside Easter and Christmas. Celebrations and spending time with family (usually eating delicious food!) is what we focus on! Corinne

I will definitely wish you luck and a speedy recovery! I'm having surgery today too- but I am having an ablation and a mirena put in. If it doesn't work my next step will be a hysterectomy. I haven't been under anaesthetic for over 25 yrs so I am a little bit nervous, but am sure I will be fine. Keeping my fingers crossed all my problems will be solved. Good luck! Corinne

I love the one with all the cats! We had 11 at one stage- all strays/rescue cats/kittens. Sadly we have lost 5 during the past 6 months. But considering we took them in as kittens and they all passed away at the ages of 14/15 they had a pretty good run. 2 are fourteen, 2 are 13, 1 is 6 and the latest kitten is nearly 3 so we still have the joy of cats. Oh, I forgot to mention that it was the first online scrapbooking shop I was brave enough to buy from!
I was lured in by the Chatterbox Den paper pad ( I found some still hoarded last weekend) and the SEI paper.
Could not buy these brands in Australia and I just had to have them all! Although postage was never cheap, it was still worth it to have the latest and greatest products way before they ever appeared in shops here.

I started scrapbooking at the beginning of 2000 and I think one of our instructors at our LSS mentioned it. I only went on to look at the gallery and pea soup- downloaded so many quotes, titles and full page black and white pages of layouts. Only recently came across a whole pile and threw them out! I ventured onto the NSBR site one day but never posted. I have a great memory and can recall most of the drama and entertainment that used to happen there! I started to tentatively post and had probably posted/replied about 20 times before 2peas shut down. It took me a few days to find this site and I resolved then and there to post more. Put up an avatar, share photos, comment and even start threads on both Scrapbooking and NSBR boards. I still read a lot more than I post but I'm improving! Corinne

Here in South Australia we have had a ban on plastic shopping bags for at least 10 years. You do get used to taking your own and it really isn't a problem. We have just been travelling interstate where there is no ban and we were given bags at the supermarket check out with only one item in it so there are just so many wasted bags in that state. I was just scrolling through and reading before I replied but you have just said exactly what I was going to type! We go to Sydney quite regularly to visit family and can't believe how quickly one item can be put in a bag before you even say "no thanks" They don't even ask you if you want one. And we are always surprised at how messy some places are with all the discarded cans and bottles. Because they are worth 10c here they are always collected by kids or people trying to make some money. There is an old, retired man who pulls a shopping trolley bag behind him and carries one of those plastic "claws" . Most mornings as I drive to work I see him walking along the main road cleaning up rubbish AND collecting cans! Corinne

Well, I just found some in a drawer and was wondering the same thing. After reading these responses I am going to put them in to be developed. I know it is quite dear here but oh well, maybe there will be some special memories! My prediction is that they will be all black- probably photos of the night sky. I know my husband was using film years ago to practice his astro photography using his telescope. I can't imagine that I would have lost/forgotten any rolls of film seeing as I used to be such an avid scrapbooker! I shall report back when I get them developed. I hope the OP does too! Corinne

All of our cats were feral cats that we took in. Most of them lived outside (cat run at night) and it took them a few years to be really comfortable with us, coming up for pets etc. Now, Celia was abandoned at 2 weeks like yours. We too had to feed her with a teat pipette and toilet her. She will be 6 next week. She can be very affectionate but suddenly turn and scratch without warning. She loves to be near us (she is sitting by my feet right now!) and enjoys sitting on the arm of the lounge chair but never has been a lap cat. She also sleeps on the bottom of our bed each night and wakes my husband (never me!) for breakfast each morning She has always been an indoor cat but knows our other cats as they come in occasionally and she goes into their yard too. They are very sociable (we had 9 at one stage) but Celia will start to hiss and run away if they come too close. Our outdoor cats are all about 14 years old and are as tame as any "pet" cat. The older they get the more time they spend inside. Hopefully your cat will improve with time, like Celia. Do you have any other cats for her to socialise with? Corinne

Thanks for your replies. I think I will stick with the kraft background and choose a few patterned papers that work well together and co-ordinate with flowers. I like the idea of a matching element throughout, just have to decide what is shall be. Thanks for the link to the pinterest board. I had searched only for tropical wedding layouts, but of course I can still use the ideas just change up the colours and embellishments to match my tropical theme. And there were lots of simple titles there that I really liked. Give me 6 months and I'll come back and post what I've done! Thank you! Corinne

I got married in July and put together a quick photobook for my mother in law and aunty using about 45 photos. But now, I would like to make a 12 x 12 scrapbook. I have bought some wedding papers form different collections but of course don't have enough of one particular one to do an entire album We got married in Fiji so I will do a few layouts using the beach wedding paper and embellishments and put them in the holiday album. For the main album I'm thinking of using a kraft background and several cardstock colours, maybe white, green, blue? Our photos range from beach- blues/sand, garden- green, green and green! we also have some beautiful sunset shots which range from orange/pink/purple. I do have some lovely stampin up stamps and dies of tropical type flowers so I am contemplating using these along with some silhouette cut flowers for embellishments. Then I thought of using quotes on each page printed in a die cut shape , or possible one word/phrase die cut across page? Does anybody have any links to any wedding pages or albums? Or quotes or phrases? Most of the photos are of the two of us as we eloped. And we are in our 50's, been together for 24 years. ( just to put it into context- "We've only just begun" might not be as relevant!! All suggestions very welcome. Thanks Corinne

Oh my goodness! I must track this down and order it all. My grandson is 18 but is studying Astrophysics and Space Science at uni so I would love to have this paper. No real idea how I'd use it but I'll worry about that later on! Thanks for the links to the NASA posters too. I'm going to print them off for him. Corinne

Not intentionally! We only have a few scrapbook shops left where I live and this particular one is on the other side of town so I don't get there very often. It is unusual in that I think he still has so much stock he started with years ago! He never has sales or puts things out in sale bins. The shop is a rabbit warren of many little rooms and some huge sheds out the back. Last time I went I spent 3 hours there and found so many random pieces of Basic Grey that I had loved and used up. The tartan, papers from the Mod range. Also lots of Wild Asparagus and My Mind's Eye. Of course they were all still original price- about $1:75 a piece!! But I was so happy to buy some favourite papers I bought them all. To give you an idea, he still has Junkitz paper, Karen Foster, Sassafrass.. Corinne

The Ink Road drama continues... I had to block her from my email.. she continues to email telling me I am wrong for contacting paypal... and that I was a scammer... Hello.. I paid .. she didnt deliever. Who is scamming who???... geez... Oh, I recently ordered from there recently. I was desperate for some doodlebug embellishments/stickers. I had googled the items I wanted and she had them. I received tracking that said it had arrived in Australia and then heard nothing for several days. THEN the tracking number was coming up as non existent??? I emailed her again and she said she would check as it was sale time and she was behind on orders and mine might still be in the queue. This didn't make sense as it had supposedly left her days ago? Her website gives no indication of what country she is even in and I did inquire about that as I would understand a long journey as I live at the bottom of Australia! (she didn't answer me) Luckily for me it did arrive about 5 days later. I'm glad I read this, I won't risk it again. I willingly paid the high postage because I desperately wanted the items to match the paper I had bought but now I'm worried in case I don't get the correct items at all! Thanks for telling us the name. I realise you didn't feel comfortable at first but I certainly appreciate it. Now I'm off to have a look at shipping costs to Australia from some of the other companies listed on here. Corinne

My nephew is competing in the Paralympics in the Long Jump. He is 18 years old and he has dreamed of this day for many years. When he was young he came home one day and told my mum that he was always picked last for teams because he couldn't run as fast as the other kids. She showed him a newspaper clipping about the Paralympics and told him that if he worked hard at his sport one day he could be going too. During the past 3 years he has travelled and competed in Switzerland, London and last year won a Bronze medal in Doha in the World International Championships. Sadly my mum passed away last year but she inspired him to reach for his dreams and today walking out into that stadium he achieved them. We will be keeping our fingers crossed for him on Monday but whatever the outcome we are so proud of him. He has been growing is hair long and didn't want to cut it and he doesn't like shaving but today he shaved and put his hair up in a man bun! So unreal to see the little boy who used to have his legs in plaster (from Botox- he has Cerebral Palsy) walking out there into that amazing stadium. Corinne HE WON THE GOLD MEDAL!! First track and field gold medal for Australia, a PB by 11cm and a Paralympic record. We are so proud! The best bit was watching how happy he was. I can't add a photo right now but his name is Brayden Davidson Thank you all for your words of support. Our family are over the moon! Corinne
