I didn’t look closely so I thought Coco Paradise would be about chocolate. I’d buy that. The papers are pretty but I don’t have a use for them. (Why are they calling it Coco? I tried looking it up but all that comes up is a Disney cartoon about a child that goes to the land of the dead.) I With Liberty istickers are similar to some stickers I bought last year so another no. Just for you isn’t for me. Oh well. Coconuts! 😃

Lately I have been seeing a lot of punched shapes in Instagram scrapbookers work. I went on a retreat two weekends ago and I did end up using punches on a couple layouts. I have an insane amount of punches. Tuesday Morning used to have tons of punches and I'm glad I bought them up. (I miss Tuesday Morning so much.) The majority of them are basic shapes but I do have a few, like a deer and an octopus, that I pull out sometimes. The deer is great for decorating Christmas presents. As far as trends, mixed media is still going strong. I also see lots of "sprinkles" - enamel dots, sequins, Nuvo drops, gem stones, etc. lately. And lots of Cricut die cuts. I have a tags, circles, heart, square, not so much snowflakes, animals etc. But I think they are super useful for crafts, cards, gifts. Bulky to store but awesome to use with scraps. I have to remind myself to work with them - like stamps - but it's nice to have them. I also miss Tuesday Morning. Covid supply issues killed our store here in Fountain Valley, Cal. I discovered that store just a few years ago. The pricing and inventory for scrap and craft supplies was amazing.

There should have been some sort of quick email blast sent out, at the very least. If there wasn't going to be a clearance sale, then say so. Don't just leave your customers in the dust. She traveled to Paris and NYC in '23, read 68 books (!). Maybe she is just burned out? Elise Blaha stopped posting on IG and selling (but has hubby's radiology doc income). Over the years I feel you do develop a relationship with designers. You buy their creations, support their business. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with discontinuing your business, going a different direction or taking a break. As a long long, time supporter of hers I'd love just a tiny blip indicating where all of this is going or not going. Be done or do it right lol.

I've been doing PL since 2013, switched to 12 x 6" album in 2014. Moving on to this size was doable. Two pages, weekly spread, plus inserts, if necessary.
No subscriptions, print all my journaling, no hybrid. Use my stash rn, like KP, AE, Echo Park, Lawn Farm. I actually don't have that much but I tend to hold on to 6" x 6" paper pads from YEARS ago. Just in case lol
Print my own photos. Use pockets in all different sizes. Anything I can get my hands on. I like Pokemon card holders - 2.5" x 3.5". Can be cut down to fit. Easy to add self created accent cards (not fillers, lol).
Scrap weekly or anytime I get a chance but keep a spiral notepad ready to jot down daily going ons. I always want to add thoughts in the notes or a diary app on my phone but I always forget. Handwriting quickly in one place, along with grocery reminders etc work for me. I try not to fall behind too much. Best tip I can give any newbies. Start with today and keep going, then add the previous days, weeks. Using "fresh" content is funner and more authentic. I am big on journaling, so that's my strategy. For the most part lol. You do you.
I also use thin cardboard from paper pads and cover them with cardstock to create inserts. Same with nice clothes tags that I cover. Years ago Boden Kids had a cute reindeer on their mail catalog. I used it as my "Hello December" opening. I think I stole that from AE. I still use some fun (decent paper quality) catalog cover cutouts from the likes of O'Neill etc on occasion for summer themed inserts (I am in SoCal).

Not at all. I've sent so many emails I think I have carpal tunnel now. She posted to her personal instagram that she went to a movie, I almost replied to ask about when the subscribers will get the link for the 6x8 digital paper but didn't because I assumed she would block me or something. I would have asked for a movie review to see which response came faster, but I'm petty! I received the digital download minutes after purchase. It feels like she is done.

I’m disappointed in the end of the subscription but knew it was coming. I’m also shocked at the price of her kits now, just looked to see if anything was worth adding this month (no, the shop is bare bones) and saw that the Dec kit is $40.49! If that’s what potential future kits will be priced, then it’s a very hard pass for me! Sad this is the end as I’ve always loved her style and on topic themes. No one else out there fills this void Yes, $40+ price tag was shocking. Like one last cash grab. I do like most of her designs but I also get the feeling she likes designing more than the business/shipping/customer service aspect and it's becoming too much a drag for her. I listened to Elise Blaha-Cripe on the pod where she says she is done with social media sharing/selling etc. The profit margins are so thin in that business, so I get it. But for Elise it was also lack of demand. Hope KP figures something out - I'd hate for her to close everything down.

Example: Echo Park >> Definitely stuck in a rut. All their lines look similar. Same colors and same style, every collection. I just looked at their fall releases and they still sell all their previous stuff. It's all the same. Yea, I expect pumpkins, leafs etc. but these corny sayings are so dated. Harvest this, farms that, so blessed, family time. Happy Fall Y'All. Plus, like you mentioned, the designs are all the same, often recycled. Really lazy.

I only read here but have been doing PL for about 10 years. I use a variety of pocket protectors. Some I cut down or modify. Simple Snap, Hobby Lobby, BH.
Which album are you using? Hobby Lobby 12 x 6", black (they stopped offering others colors)
How are you getting your cards this year? Some stash, some Lawn Farm, AE + KP/PP stuff. I make my own a lot of times actually. I definitely don't do a lot of "fillers". If I do I create them.
What's your favourite thing about PL? The journaling. The photos are all on my Mac but adding journaling of everyday stuff is really important to me. I also look at magazines like BH+Garden, Real Simple occasionally to see how they lay their stories out, overlay text etc.
What's your main struggle with PL? I feel I need to get away from filling out a "weekly" layout so to speak (2 full page protectors). More substance - less looking for a (meaningless?) photo to fill a pocket.
Do you have any stories you're already looking forward to document in 2023? My son will attend college, my daughter will graduate college. More trips, away sports events. I also like "lists". Stuff I currently enjoy. My kids aren't young so less material than in years before.
Got any ideas for your title page? I used KP/Paper Person Today's Highlights Tags and patterned paper from one of her Evergreen (Christmas) kit. I am a huge rabbit fan (year of the rabbit) and the gold foil rabbit die cuts and other tags are perfect on darker paper.

Hi, me again. 👋🏻 😆 I just wanted to give the “today’s highlights tags” from last month a shout out. If you didn’t get them, give them a look! The pic does not do them justice. All the tan-mustard looking colors are actually gold foil and they’re gorgeous. I’ll be using a 2023 on my opening PL page, and saving another (I ordered an extra) for next year’s DD. Really pretty. The year of the rabbit pieces can be saved for Easter stuff, if you’re not into lunar new year. paperperson.shop/collections/stickers/products/todays-highlights-tagsI am a rabbit person and yes, they are beautiful. The deer tags in green would be pretty for fall, the other "stamps" also have a woodland vibe suitable for year round. Very pretty and now only $1.75. The "Happy Baking Tags" also all have gold foil accents and fun colors/designs. They can be used for anything baked, some cooked or along a favorite recipe. Also $1.75.

I get 6 x 12 with 3 rings albums at Hobby Lobby. I have currently only found them in black. The pocket pages are all kinds of brands, like BH or Snap. I often cut them down to fit the album. I get them on amazon or at Hobby Lobby.

Same, didn’t think of checking until I saw these posts. Sure enough, green alphas missing from Magic kit. I understand they don’t want to package every single item separate, but there needs to be a better system to make sure that the orders are actually complete.

A bunch more of those gross, sloppy handwriting stamp sets. she's really making it easy for me to not buy her products. I already don’t like having too much of AE handwriting in my PL (I feel some people go so overboard with that, her guest designers often or certain DD albums, that it ends up looking like a lifeless copy. AE stamps are clean. But the KP sloppy handwriting (also a different handwriting in earlier stamps) is unappealing. I’ll just call over my 14 yr old son to help me out, his handwriting is pretty bad 😉.

I have the ET 2550, has good reviews on Amazon. Use it every day for PL journaling and photos plus my daughter prints home work for high school.
I bought it March 2016 and not running low on ink! With the Canon I was constantly buying cartridges. Print quality is good. Only drawback for me: Does add a white border to 4x6 format. Maybe I set it up wrong, idk. We are happy with this printer.

If you have the photos on your phone you can use PicCollage app for templates. One of them is 2-4x3 printed on a 4x6. Endless collage variations. I often use Walgreens 1 hr service with a coupon from retailmenot. All done online. Dirt cheap. Or I print at home using an EPSON ET-2550. Its one of those ink tank printers. Its good enough for my PL life stuff. I print all the time, my daughter prints enormous amounts of pages for school. Got the printer maybe two years ago, haven't refilled ink once and its not even halfway empty (there are only four colors to be refilled, so maybe the photo quality suffers? I haven't had an issue.)

I just discovered Blitsy.com. $29 order gets you free ship and $10 off $40 for new members. I think you have one hour to check out, that's how long the items in your cart are reserved. I am ordering Carta Bella Autumn stuff and Crate Paper. Some stuff I want sold out but also popular items on sale. They are located in Chicago, so no sales tax for me. If you'd like to check it out here's my referral link: blitsy.com/ref/85z924Update: As of today, Oct 14, the order has been received but NOT pulled, next step is shipping. Totally unacceptable. I may just email them ...

First of all amazing job and congratulations on your weight loss.
I agree with OPs that you should get the skin removal surgery. However, do not consider Mexico, Dominican Republic or other "deals". Yes, there are success stories but it is just way to risky. Just as an example, I had fat grafting done. This is not traditional lipo. It is used to enhance natural breasts with fat from your thighs or belly. Or - in my case - it is used to make reconstructed breasts with implants look better (and it is warmer). Reconstruction after mastectomy because of breast cancer or preventive mastectomy. Anyhow, I had NO idea how hard the recover was going to be, how much swelling, for weeks and months. I started researching and came across tons of liposuction stories (which is more invasive, as they suck out enormous amount of fat) some of them done in Mexico. It was scary and dangerous. To have major surgery done (which probably takes a few hours) in Mexico is just not something I'd even look into. Also after any surgery you HAVE to move around every 2 hours to avoid blood clots. They want you to walk throughout the day. Try that on a crowded plane. This sounds crazy but even my daughter had to walk the day after a 10 hr scoliosis surgery fused a spine and implanting rods. Recovery at home with access to doctors, pain control, family support, is so important. I know the poster meant well, but that's just my .02 cents.
Wishing you all the best!

Who's creepier? Cruise or Muscavige (Scientology boss)? This documentary may bring them down because their mrmbership has dropped so drastically. Twitter is still blowing up with negative comments about this cult. They can't fight the bad PR.

I used a 6 x 12 album from Hobby Lobby last year. Actually two albums are needed for a full year in my case. I cut down BH page protectors and use Daily Flash, Snap etc. They also sell 6 x 12 page protectors. I think Kelly Purkey jumped on that format for 2015. It is very manageable. The bigger page protectors, give me space to do mini layouts for special occasions or just for fun. the smaller ones are perfect for weeks with little content or photos. I ordered a kit from AE, however, the SC page protectors she was using for AWITL do not fit a traditional 3-binder album. I think she included 8 x 2 page protectors which looked interesting and were used with daily activity sheet.

I only ordered the kit, no album. Before I had inquired if the page protectors fit a regular album and they do not, so that's why I passed. Apparently different page protectors than shown on AE website shipped from SC. AE said, she'd be adjusting the design. For those wanting to add more page protectors - they are as of now not in stock.
I do like the kit. As OP mentioned, a bit Martha Stewart-ish. However, the neutral pallette is nice because I will add my own color pops (Halloween themed). Quality is nice.
The stamps are nice but nothing new. They can be used (in moderation) for the PL format.

I print at home using collage apps on my iphone. I used to use Picasa, but the apps are so much quicker because most photos are taken with my phone. Once in a while I use Walgreens with a coupon for larger sizes.
I also selected a much more manageable size of album for me. With the traditional 12 x 12 from BH I always had a hard time filling up all pockets. I also do not have a craft room and leave my album/some craft supplies out in the kitchen, so 12 x 12 was really big. I now use 6 x 12 albums I found at Hobby Lobby. I was able to modify most leftover BH page protectors to fit this album. If I have more stories to tell, I add another page protector. I may have to split my album in half because of bulk, but it seems stress-free so far. 8 1/2 x 11 is also a good option.
At the beginning of the week, I try to set a theme: What stories do I want to tell? Like last week was all about my sons AYSO soccer. Before it was about fall around here (or total lack off). I buy very little supplies compared to past years. Mostly PL cards at Hobby Lobby and some stamps for Kelly Purkey/Ali Edwards. I am incorporating her Week in the Life supplies into my PL life.
