For the working poor or those at poverty level, travel or a passport is a luxury they can not afford. true- but not just working poor or poverty level. Economic class, but I think it also has to do with geographic location. Like someone said, the US is a very large country. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest (Northwest Illinos), where it was at least a 3 hour drive to get to an international airport (Chicago). International travel was NOT something we were going to be doing. (not to mention, both my parents have only flown in small planes, and commercial air travel isn't on their radar at ALL.) We drove 12 hours to Minnesota every year for vacation; that was a heckuva lot cheaper- and quicker- than driving 3 hours just to get to the airport. Maybe international travel seems more 'normal' if you're more affluent AND you live closer to an international airport, like i fyou live somewhere on the East Coast. ?? I could see that. I grew up in the Bay area and have always lived 30-40 minutes from 2 international airports. Come to think about it it didn't occur to me until your post that not all US airports are international airports. I am not sure I have ever flown in or out of a non international airport.

I should add...that while I have 4 kids. We always leave all the towels that need to be replaced in the tub, hang everything else. Make sure the floors are picked up and put all the kids extra blakets/stuffies in the pack and play so they aren't in the way for bed making. I make sure all garbage is the in the cans and ready to be taken out. I try to remember to tip $5 a day. But I agree with the comment above about building that into the price. When we were at Disney World it annoyed me that I was having to tip (I did it because I realize it is important for the cleaners) when we were paying $500 plus a night for the room.

This is shocking to me. All 6 of us have ours. My oldest dd at age 8 has been to England, Ireland, Wales, and Mexico (5 times). The younger kids (6, 3, 1) have all been to Mexico - we go down to Cabo every other year for Christmas. We were supposed to go to New Zealand/Australia last fall, but I sent dh on his own because I didn't want to deal with the trip with the kids at their ages (7, 5, 2, and 6 months old at the time).
I got my first passport at age 5/6? We were going to Europe. I don't think I have ever let it expire. With kids, it is more annoying because they are only valid for 5 years vs 10 years as an adult.
I remember thinking it was weird when a good friend wanted to get hers in our late 20's because she had never had one. I was shocked that she didn't already have it. She had only been to Mexico before you needed a passport to do so. Her parents had traveled internationally, so I assumed that she had hers.
I guess I just assumed everyone had them.

I thought this Washington Post Article was an interesting read on tipping during travel. I have tried to be better about tipping at hotels, since we are a party of 6. But $10 a day was more than I expected.

So I was on the older end when I got mine, 4th or 5th grade. I had Samantha, my sister for Kirsten. I was so excited to take my dd to the AG store in NYC to pick out her first doll. Just this past week I was on eBay buying the sewing patterns for the dresses for Samantha, Addy, Kirsten, and Molly - Felicity for some reason is double the price so I haven't bought that one yet. I would hold on to them!!

So many older kids with dolls! I can’t have them in my house that long! So funny how all kids are different. My older dd couldn’t wait to get rid of them. Younger dd currently hardly touches them. They are in her room in a bunk bed and she has 2 soft sealed bins in her closet taking up precious space. She has 2-3 friends who love AG so when they come over she plays with them. Other then that she doesn’t touch them. She is only attached to Luciana, last years’ girl of the year (the only one she bought with her own money). She asked to keep 2/5 dolls. She asked to go through the stuff and give most away. I have a family I gift our items to. I can’t fathom selling our stuff to someone I don’t know so I gift it to a young family we’ve known for years. As a side - her attachment to luciana is adorable! She said to me ‘you know how my first doll Ella looks like me? Well Liciana is me’. Dd has wanted to be an aerospace engineer for the last 6 years and it was wonderful of AG to come out with a doll who worked for NASA. I would buy them! My dd is 8 and loves hers. I also had my mom store my sisters and mine and she just now allowed to play with those too. She loves them!

and because Denmark won't talk about it, he's cancelled his upcoming visit to Denmark. Image of child stamping their feet comes to mind. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-49416740He has described it as essentially a real estate deal, curious what his plan was for the 56,000 people who live there. They’d probably all get to become automatic US citizens. Because they’re probably mostly white, and I’ve heard that’s what we’re trying to increase in this country right now. 🤬😡😢 Or he’d jack up their rent to such an extreme level that they would all have to leave. To go where I have no idea. Mostly not white actually....but I am sure once he finds that out he wouldn't be as interested.

Maybe Google Photos? My DD shares photos of our grands that way. I don’t think I have enough room in my acct. 😔 Set up another gmail account! You can store up to 15GB in an account for free. Or you can also upload to Google Photos free storage, you are restricted to 16-megapixel images and 1080p videos - anything bigger will be downscaled to those sizes. Also note that even if you upload an image that's 16-megapixels or less, Google will not retain your original photos. Google Photos saves pictures as a high-quality compressed jpg that's "near-visually identical but takes lot less storage." That's fine for almost everyone, except serious photographers. So you would probably be fine! I also find the $9.99 a month for a terabyte of storage more than worth it. I have a couple 100,000 photos uploaded. I like knowing where they are and that they are easy to search. Also Smugmug is another option to look into.

I've been CG for a couple of years now. NO shampoo. Only CG approved products - Trader Joes tea tree conditioner is my favorite.
I co-wash (conditioner wash) multiple times a week, I get drenched when I work out. I am a mom of 4 (1, 3, 6, 8). So my hair is up in a messy bun 99% of the time.
But when I do the whole thing to do my hair curly it is amazing!! But I don't have time to the whole crazy thing most of the time, so up my hair goes. And I can't go more than 48 hours without washing after doing it with product because it makes my head itch.

I can NOT fathom how anyone still supports this administration. They are literally destroying the very agencies and protections that once made us great.
I can't help but feel like it as long as his base feels like he is protecting their "religious rights" --- or more accurately forcing their moral standards on everyone else --- they are willing to turn a blind eye to everything else. It is disgusting that they feel their right over other's rights is more important than the basic rights of clean air, clean water, education, and safety.

Two of my college roommates were at the Route 91 Harvest shooting in Las Vegas. They thankfully escaped without any physical harm, but I know they have both struggled since.
One of my best friend's uncles was on the plane that went down in the field in PA on 9/11.

World of Wonder Travel is run by Breanne and she is incredible!! We have booked multiple Disneyland and Disney world trips with her. She does everything!! We are west coast, so she got up and did our dining and fast passes for us. She constantly checked any deals that came out to see if she could get us something better. She is amazing. We did Spring Break this year and it was warm, but not horrible. It was crowded, but doable. We are doing Universal and DW in February, she helped us book the split stay. And then again next April for Spring break. We decided do have this be our year of DW and did annual passes there instead of our normal Disneyland passes. Breanne can answer any and all questions you might have and she is free!!

What an amazing idea. A childhood friend teaches preschool and had an idea about having people sponsor a child for scholastic books. She said that they offer books each month for as little as $1 but some parents still can't afford to buy them. She asked for volunteers to sponsor a child for $9 so they could get 1 book a month the entire school year. The first 3 people that commented, sponsored her entire class and everyone else donated to help stock her classroom with books. I love seeing people help teachers out! I did this for a friend! I had a bunch of scholastic points from when I taught and she works at a small school. I was able to provide 2 months worth of books for the whole school!

I have permission from admin to start this thread. Hoping maybe she will PIN it. Many teachers/parents struggle with school supplies. I am a retired SPED teacher of 36 years and if our school didn't supply it, I had to buy it. So I had this idea. If you so desire, post your Amazon wish list here for supplies you need either for your classroom or your child. I know I would like to help out a teacher or parent with an item or two off their list. I am hoping we can help out a couple of you. After watching a HUGE act of kindness yesterday at our local Costco, I felt the need to spread some. I may post about what I witnessed in a separate post. ETA: I completely understand not wanting your personal info on here. You can PM me if that's easier...not sure how else to help make this happen... This is why I love the peas!!! As a former teacher I can't wait to shop off people's lists! Thank you for setting this up!!

I found a Babylock rachel on fb marketplace for $75 and a Babylock serger/coverstitch combo on marketplace for $200. I also found some great vintage machines at thrift stores, but had to pass them on to others because I didn't have the space. My favorite was a White treadle in a beautiful table that I got for $40.

"I am learning that no group has the market cornered on grace. This week I’ve received grace from Christians, atheists, evangelicals, exvangelicals, straight people, LGBTQ people, and everyone in-between. Of course there have also been strong words of rebuke from religious people. While not always pleasant, I know they are seeking to love me. (There have also been spiteful, hateful comments that angered and hurt me.) The information that was left out of our announcement is that I have undergone a massive shift in regard to my faith in Jesus. The popular phrase for this is “deconstruction,” the biblical phrase is “falling away.” By all the measurements that I have for defining a Christian, I am not a Christian. Many people tell me that there is a different way to practice faith and I want to remain open to this, but I’m not there now. I have to say that his book helped solidify the start of my journey into this back in 2001. "Falling away" was the best move I ever made. I have never been happier!

I’d get a park hopper ticket and go from when the parks open until they close and do both. Unlike Disney World, you can easily walk from one park to the other and back - they are just separated by a large courtyard/square. I brought my niece from Israel there in February 2018 and we only had one day. We spent a long day and shuttled back and forth between the two. There are things you MUST do in Disneyland and also MUST do in CA. Radiator Springs racers, in CA, for example, doesn’t exist anywhere else. And, right now, the only open Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is in Disneyland (it will open in Disney World at the end of August). Also the Guardians of the Galaxy version of Tower of Terror is also ONLY in CA. It is definitely do-able to hit the highlights of each park in a full day. I would agree with this. Get there 30 minutes before opening, buy the max pass and park hopper! Totally doable! If you can't get Radiator springs on Max pass do single rider line!

I lOVED summer camp! The first week I went was the week of my 8th birthday, you had to be 8 at attend and my mom convinced them to let me go since i turned 8 on the Tuesday of the week. I went to that camp for 1-2 weeks from age 8 till the summer before my senior year of high school. I also went swimming camp at a local university that we got to sleep in the dorms, I did that at least 3 or 4 summers.
I loved it! My oldest is 8 and I was super bummed that I couldn't convince her to do it this summer. My nieces and nephews range from 7-14 and none of them have ever gone - which I find super weird since their moms (along with dh) went a couple of weeks every summer and loved it.

So I voted yes. Yes I think he should be impeached - in terms of - he should be impeached for his actions. However do I think that attempting to impeach him is the best path for the democrats - NO. I think that they need to keep letting him be an idiot, solidify their message, and kick his rear in the next election.

We booked a package with regular park hopper tickets and I upgraded mine to a season pass the first day. That way we got discounts on everything. We ended up upgrading everyone else on our last day. No real reason other than we didn't feel like dealing with it till the last day. We did 10-day hoppers over Spring Break in April. We knew we were going back in February for the Princess Run Series. So between the two trips, there was about a $50 difference between having the tickets vs season passes. So we added on another trip. Originally we were going to go in August before school starts but decided it was going to be too hot. So we are going to go again for Spring Break since it is a week earlier this year. So we will leave to head home the day our passes expire.
