I don't live far from Lancaster (PA-home to many Amish) and actually one of my dogs is a surviving puppy mill mother. She is blind and lived in a small cage for 7 years and was bred who knows how many times. We were told that they were going to shoot her because she was no longer any use to them because she was too old to have any more puppies. Thankfully, a rescue was able to get her out of there. It really bothers me that there are signs and billboards there with Bible verses and they are supposedly so God fearing, but they treat their animals so poorly. Not trying to sound judgemental but I believe if you are religious, you will treat all living things with kindness.

Mayweather and McGregor both agreed to fight, and both got millions of dollars to do so. In dogfighting rings, the dogs do not choose to fight- they are forced to. Your analogy is ridiculous. I am on the 2nd chance for Vick bench but still want to weigh in. That particular analogy might have been 'ridiculous' but the fact remains that Mayweather has beat women multiple times, including in front of his children. He was facing 32 years in prison but did a plea bargain and instead just made $300mil fighting. If Vick doesn't deserve a 2nd chance, then why are we holding parties to watch Mayweather? That comparison isn't 'ridiculous' to me at all. FTR, I'm not a fan of McGregor either. We have enough race issues here in our own country. His 'dance for me, boy' line is repulsive and also shouldn't be celebrated. I was invited to a friend's house to watch it. At first I was going to go, just to see some friends and socialize and check out the hype. Then I really thought about it Friday night and decided that for me, going was very hypocritical of me based on how I felt so I changed my mind and didn't watch any of the coverage. To me, her post was comparing what Michael Vick did to boxing. It was not about what scumbags they all are in real life. If that was what she was referring to, then I agree with her 100%.

I find it amusing all the people in this thread who are disgusted with Michael Vick but watched the barbaric fight this weekend. As if watching humans harm others is entertainment. It's like don't wear fur but I eat meat. Spare me. Mayweather and McGregor both agreed to fight, and both got millions of dollars to do so. In dogfighting rings, the dogs do not choose to fight- they are forced to. Your analogy is ridiculous.

There's another thread here about how social media is not always so great for kids, and there are days when I just hate it, but Duncan being found is probably a direct result of it. I guess we have to take the bad with the good. So thankful for all the people who were out searching for him today.

I flew for AA for many years and I can say that what the OP described is not anything I ever witnessed on any of my flights. That said, I had my fair share of unruly passengers--adult and child--but never to the extent of the above.
We were never told that we couldn't reprimand a child. Safety has to be first. FAA regs state that all passengers must be seated with seat belts when the seatbelt sign is on. If ithe sign isn't on, it's strongly suggested, but you can't force someone to stay in their seat if they need to get up. I can't imagine flight attendants on any US carrier putting up with that behavior from both the parents and the children. The flight attendants absolutely should have intervened. I think you should write a letter to the airline about it. Make sure to include flight number, to/from, and date of flight. They will definitely contact the crew and ask questions.
Someone mentioned maybe it was a non- rev pilot and the f/as didn't say anything to them because of that, but that would be a sure way to lose their jobs (the non revs and the working crew)
If someone passes away on a flight and they don't make an unscheduled landing because of it, the crew will try their best to move the body to the last row if at all possible. On a completely full flight though, that could be difficult.

My parents were born and raised in Huntington but moved to Pennsylvania after they got married. We spent a lot of time down there through the years. Marshall is a pretty school-it's very near the downtown area. I wouldn't have had any reservations about any of my kids going there. I think you will find drug problems anywhere, unfortunately.
The people in Huntington are very kind and welcoming.

Honestly, I saw the headline and a picture of the victim (from an earlier time) and I couldn't bring myself to read it. It's horrendous and it rips my heart out. I don't know the particulars, but these teens need to be prosecuted. Just sickening and heart wrenching.

I'll be curious to hear more about the parents. I'm not one to blame parents for what adult children do, but I have to wonder if the affluent lifestyle is a contributing factor. Is it that they think they are untouchable because of their wealth?

I live in the Philadelphia suburbs, so there are all kinds of things being thrown around here regarding motive. My oldest DH (recent colllege grad) just said some people she knows in the area have said that apparently there is a link between diNardo and a guy who has been accused of seriously beating a Temple University student. Supposedly, some of the 4 young men who were killed witnessed the beating. The accused was a known drug dealer and DiNardo owed him money. So to wipe the debt clean, DiNardo "took care" of the witnesses. Sounds crazy, but it's something that a lot of local kids are talking about. Kind of sounds like what mom had said was being discussed on Web Sleuths. Who knows. It's all speculation. I just can't imagine how the families of the 4 victims are managing. That would absolutely destroy me. So tragic.

I have 2 pugs and they are great with cats. They are very low key dogs. My jack russell mix, on the other hand, would not be a good fit with a cat.

MerryMom, did they refund your money? Did those who paid the $300.00 get anything back? That seems like a scam, IMO.

I live and work in the same community that Bianca did. Obviously, our local news will be more detailed than news in other areas. There has been a lot of support for the Roberson family, and that is how it should be.There is a Go Fund Me page that has raised over $40,000.00 in 5 days, and I expect that amount to keep climbing.
From what I understand, it was not realized that she had been shot right away. Her car swerved off the road and hit a tree, and I heard that they first thought her injuries were from the car hitting the tree. So it may not have been until the autopsy that they realized she had a gunshot wound to her head.
Once the suspect was identified, the media interviewed people who have known him. My opinion is that they did it because people cannot fathom what kind of person could do something like this. There has been nothing positive said about him. People are outraged that he took the life of this beautiful young woman.

She is a good person because I would've inflated the emergency slide and been halfway across the tarmac while they were picking up their mouths. Fuck that. That was my other thought...I'd have pulled that exit door and been out of there like that flight attendant a few years ago (who remains one of my personal heroes). I'm not familiar with ice storage on a plane but why does anyone think it would melt? They have electricity and refrigeration, right? Ice doesn't disappear during long international flights. Not that that's really important here, but yes, ice placed on the pulse points of a naked 4 month old would bring the temp down considerably if the plane was only in the 90s. I wonder if anything else was going on with this poor baby. The ice is packed with dry ice. There is no refrigeration, at least not during my career. I retired several years ago.
