I live in Adelaide and we have been waiting for Krispy Kreme to open up here for ages. Every time we travel to Sydney there are always lots of people carrying back boxes of donuts.
This store was in the news because they had to close the drive through as there were LINES of people all down the main road and it was too dangerous to let cars in. Apparently it was a 2 hr wait!!! Just to let you know how crazy people are here for these donuts, 2 teenagers started lining up 2 days before the opening in order to be the first customers. Krispy Kreme offered a year, 6 months and 3 months supply to the first 3 customers. Considering we are in the middle of winter and the temperature is about 4 degrees these boys were keen.
I don't understand the mad rush. It's a 24 hr drive through and it's not closing down anytime soon. And full disclaimer here - I don't eat them, but our kids do.
It's certainly not funny that people were held up at knifepoint but it is very strange that they just wanted the donuts. I'd like to know how they made a quick getaway - carrying 6 boxes??? Corinne

This is great, and would be relatively easy for me because I have nowhere near the amount of stamps most of you have. It's my last day of holidays today so I will save this for 10 weeks time. I have only just started to really use my stamps and sadly found one of my sets of alphas has turned all yellow and sticky. When I tried to peel them off they broke. I'm still going to try and use them (soon!) because the ripped pieces can be put together. Luckily they have a dot design on them which hides the tear marks. Corinne

I have the Fiskars stamp press , the bigger one but am thinking of getting the smaller one for cards. I love that it has the grid, there is no way I would line up letters straight without it.
I also have 3 smaller blocks that are from Kaisercraft. They are a little bit thin though and come with a little blue handle that slides onto each of them. I recently attended a Stampin Up party and used her heavier acrylic blocks and am thinking I might buy some of them for simple stamping.

I'm trying to convince my DH and girls to be the Kartrashians, but they aren't buying it, lol Ha Ha, this is funny. One of the song titles we discussed was " I like big butts" or "Bootylicious" and we thought about how we could dress up like the Kardashians, oops Kartrashians! (much more suitable) Corinne

I shared this on my Facebook this morning. Foil is indeed very versatile. After watching this I actually used foil to cover the arms of my glasses while I dyed my hair. I can't wait to share it with a workmate. Her husband in convinced that the moon landing is a hoax. Corinne

How lucky! They are really pretty buttons. I just sorted out my sewing cabinet and found a tin full of assorted buttons. I must have gone through a stage of matching buttons to the dress I was making because I found lots of little fabric coloured ones. The dresses are long gone but the buttons brought back memories. I am another who loves buttons, buys buttons but forgets to use them. In fact, I just checked in a drawer and found my treasured collection of MM buttons - beautiful matte colours and flat, perfect for scrapbooking pages. I bought them when I first started scrapbooking and (shhhh, don't tell!) they cost about $60. It was my birthday and I got a small discount. I love them and am now going to put them in a jar on my desk so I can remember to use them.

I was 3. My sister was 5 and my mum was doing her hair for school. She asked me to get a rubber band and as I passed by the ironing board I accidentally pulled the cord down and the hot iron fell on my foot. I remember my mum rubbing some cream on it . Later on that day some dirt was delivered to our house and I remember playing on it with the boy from next door, so obviously I wasn't too traumatised.
It must have been a reasonably bad burn though as I still have a large scar on my foot to this day. Because our parents told us stories of our childhood, sometimes I wonder whether lots of those early memories are real or are memories MADE real by the retelling of them over the years.
I do believe the burn one though as I can clearly picture exactly where in the kitchen the ironing board was and the angle.

Lucky I'm on holidays right now! Off to add new fonts to my collection. It's always easier to go straight to recommended fonts than search through thousands.
Thank you all for sharing. Corinne

I have never in my life heard of this method of cooking pork chops. We don't have them very often but I will definitely give this a try. Corinne

I'm in Australia and did usually buy from 2peas. Even though the shipping could be quite high, compared to the prices I would pay here, not to mention being able to buy the newest stuff it was still a better choice for me. I would often buy $200-300 worth and pay about $80 shipping. I also used to buy a lot from Frantic Stamper. Really great service. I first found her a few years ago when it was impossible to buy an ATG here and many places would not ship. The only reason I have recently not ordered too much from her is that shipping has gone up - not from her, but customs. I used to buy a flat rate box for about $48 and could fit several hundred dollars worth of paper, embellishments. That said I am waiting for an order right now. I couldn't find ATG tape in stock here so I ordered 3 boxes, 10 stickles and a die. It cost $66 and $22 shipping. Same products here would have cost $107 (free shipping) so even though I have to wait a little while it is still cheaper. Fran has a really quick turnaround, often sent within 24 hrs. She also includes little gifts- a punch, stickers, die cuts. It sounds like Simon Says stamps might be a good option to look into as well. Corinne

Clearly I am a big fan of the home made Halloween outifit! (my avatar picture is last years creation ) We have decided to have a theme for our party this year. We have asked people to come dressed as their favourite song. My husband is a big Pink Floyd and wants to come as Dark side of the moon -umm not happening!! My daughter is thinking of coming as Purple Rain - dressed totally in purple with purple makeup and an umbrella with sparkly rain hanging off the edges. My grandson bought a wolf costume for a W party so he is going to recycle that and bring his English girlfriend along wearing the flag-- Werewolves of London. I have no idea what I'm wearing, think I might do a s/o thread to ask for ideas. Corinne

The dies are very thin with a sharp edge. I guess I will try a bit of trial and error to see what works best for me. The sushi one has very small pieces so that will probably be a bit tricky, wish me luck! Corinne

I am obviously not meant to do this. I was excited about how easy it was but then realised that I had downloaded the new version of software which did not match the video. Despite google searching I still cannot find a simple video showing me how to do it. I thought I had it worked out but when I went to cut it , it said registration failed!!!! I will persist though, but I'm not trying again till tomorrow! Corinne

I have a nice collection of stamps and am only now just starting to use them on my layouts. I have recently bought 2 sets of matching stamps and dies and need some advice on how to use them. Do you stamp and colour first then use the die? I have a Cuttlebug, but I've only ever really used it for embossing so I'm not sure how to match up the die and stamped image without it moving. Is it better to leave images on bigger pieces of paper? I was thinking of stamping, then cutting THEN colouring. I don't want to waste time and effort colouring if I muck up the die placement. I am also planning to stamp on Stampin Up white cardstock that comes in the A4 pack. I think I once read it is designed for stamping??? Hope this makes sense! I would appreciate any advice whatsoever. Clearly, I am quite clueless. Corinne

I made new files that matched my folders on 2Peas - eg 1 horizontal, beach etc. Then I saved each layout. It took me quite a few hours but I did it in 30 minute batches. Now I have them all saved on my computer so I can use them easily. While I have Pinterest I decided I'd like to have access to them even if the internet was down.

An order from Stampin Up arrived today. The newest colours of cardstock and matching ink pads and a great flower/leaves combo stamp set and dies. Unfortunately the stamps were out of stock and I have to wait for them.
I also have a parcel coming from the states that has 10 stickles, 6 rolls of ATG glue rolls and a die to match my Lawn Fawn Let's roll stamp set. It is a very cute set all about sushi and it is one of my most outrageous impulse buys ever! I am hoping to do a bit of cardmaking this year so looks like everyone will be getting a sushi card. Probably now need to buy Copics to colour them in properly!

I just went to a launch, make and take event too. I ordered the new colour range of cardstock and ink- really love the orange, yellow and purple combo. And I ordered a set of flower/leaves stamp that you can overlap (?) - stamp different coloured smaller flowers on top and the matching dies.I have been using up my supply of K & Co flowery embelishments that are similiar to these so the idea of making more is definitely appealing.
My last order came within a few days, but this one is taking longer. Hoping it arrives very soon as I'm on holidays and would love to play with them! I also bought the hexagon punch and the matching stamps so I must use them too.

I mostly scrapbook but am really interested in making cards and using up all the stamps I have accumulated over the years. I recently attended a Stampin Up launch and am waiting for a delivery of new stamps so I shall check back on this board for sure. Corinne

We have started having an annual Halloween party - really just an excuse to dress up! Last year I decided to go as Mimi and my husband was Drew Carey.
Lots of people didn't immediately recognise me on the night so I was a little bit concerned that I looked TOO much like her but it's a fun photo so here it is. (the other choices were me as Cleopatra or as Reaghan from the exorcist!!)

I googled and found an article about 2peas closing, and in the comments part someone posted a link to this board. Thank goodness. Lesa This is me too. I had actually noticed the small writing saying FAQ about 2Peas closing and immediately went to see what people were saying on the boards and of course realised that they had been shut. Corinne

I'm sure I still have some bright green ones hidden away somewhere. I also bought a box of black ones from EBay with the clever idea of covering them in patterned paper - which I did- ONCE!! It actually turned out quite cute as it was a layout using KI memories papers and I put a small dinosaur embellishment in it.

I love being Rick-rolled! Admittedly I am a closet collector of kitchsy songs and love his songs. They are on my IPad and I play them loudly on my way to work. My favourite is "Cry for Help" And he is certainly looking good for 48! Corinne

The teen that lives in our house is our 16 yr old grandson. We were trying to decide on a movie to watch together when one rated "high level sex scenes" came up. He said "that would be awkward watching that with you two' with the usual teenage boy smirk. "what, you don't think we've SEEN sex scenes before?" I replied. My husband was quicker - "And don't you think we've actually DONE them as well???"" That sent him screaming from the room big time!! By the way we are only early 50's so it's not like we are REALLY old!

Okay, my memory of Sydney. Pretty girl with dark curly hair with a boyfriend in the military, serving in a war zone. She claimed to have ovarian cancer and she was seriously ill and there were posts about how the boyfriend was having trouble getting leave. Peas were outraged and giving advice on who to contact and were also sending cards to a friend to pass on to Sydney. Peas started getting suspicious because in some posts she mentioned a daughter when she supposedly had no children. To cut a long story short it turned out that is was a middle aged scrapbook shop owner who created Sydney. Who knows why? Attention, make her life more interesting?? There was speculation that she had stolen the photo of the solider boyfriend as her scrapbook shop held classes for a mini book that involved military. A few years later Cara (from Texas) found the picture of Sydney on the internet. Apparently the "real" Sydney was a porn star. That's what I remember anyway! 2Peas was my first messageboard and I was a lurker back then and couldn't believe some of the stories. Much better than daytime tv! Corinne

Well, I have just spent 20 minutes trying to upload a picture to use and I have searched through the admin and support to see what I am doing wrong. It lets me upload a photo, little bar turns green and says uploaded, but then all that shows up is a little box with a red cross. So if anybody had any idea how to help me I'd be most grateful!
