emhibb, where do you get yours done? I print them at home with my HP printer. I print them on 4x6 photo paper, and the software that came w/the printer lets me insert 1, 2 or 4 photos to the template. I use Photosheet to make smaller prints. It is free to dowload and very easy to use. I don't print photos at home but I just take them to the photo lab and they print them for me. I usually do 2 x3 as two will fit nicely on a normal 6 x 4 print.

Are you talking about an Australian show? I'm just taking a guess because you mentioned accents. If it is the same one it only aired here for a very short time. I didn't watch it as it didn't seem funny, although the main actor is actually funnier on comedy shows. Of course if it's a completely different show, please ignore my entire post!! Corinne

I love BB creams for everyday wear. I have tried Avon - too slippery and the colour was too pink, Maybelline- okay but still a bit shiny. My favourite is Garnier and I have recently tried their mature age one (I'm 50) and it is really great for my skin. The colour is good, application easy, it lasts and the price is excellent- about $13 AUSD and as they often have specials, I usually stock up. I still use the other ones, just usually on weekends if I'm popping down to the shops but I won't buy them again. Corinne

I'm using my Cameo to make a world globe, a compass rose and the word Geography out of map patterned papers. I'm also making a set of canvas wall art thingys- 2 will be covered in Where the wild things are material and the 3rd will have a quote from the book on it, cut from my Cameo. THEN,I have about 4 or 5 more titles to cut for the rest of my displays for Book Week amd a crown to make. That's all for my scraproom, then I'm heading out to the sewing machine to finish making my costume- Max! It will be 2 weeks before I can get back to my normal scrapbooking stuff! Corinne ETA Nearly forgot, also making about 50 snowflakes for our Narnia display. Thank goodness I have my Cameo

Definitely leave them there for 24 hours. My son in law once found a pair of shoes hidden behind our wheelie bin. Turns out our grandson was smuggling his new Nikes out of the house and wearing them to school and needed a place to hide his boring shoes until he returned home each day! We said that he should have kept quiet about it and left grandson to explain the missing shoes. Corinne

I wish I knew how to add a link. A newsreader in Australia spoke quite eloquently about - he nominated those who can donate to do so, to whatever charity they wish and then went on to list several such as Red Cross, Cancer Council etc.He also suggested helping charities that provide clean drinking water to people, instead of wasting water. However, things got quite nasty on social media and he ended up apologising for speaking on air about it. His name is Lincoln Humphries if you wish to Google the story. I too, don't like being peer-pressured into doing anything and would politely say no. ALS is a great cause and I am glad it is getting so many donations. However, we support quite a few different charities with a monthly payment so do not always have extra to donate. If someone got cranky with me, I'd ask them straight out, "How much do you donate REGULARLY??" I don't talk about the charities we donate to, it's something we choose to do and it's not something that usaully comes up in converstion. Corinne

A couple of days ago, a man in the UK had his entire front lawn stolen. ~Click~. You couldn't make it up. You are right - you couldn't make it up!! That's just.....well, I don't know what to call it! I hadn't seen this until now! I just saw this on our news this morning! The fact that CCT is becoming more commonplace makes me wonder what on earth these people are thinking! I've had a friend nurture a beautiful bird of paradise plant for months and have it stolen- ripped right out of the ground.

I remember reading something about this, perhaps on 2Peas? It is very likely an urban legend, but supposedly because it is a Christian affiliated company, it is something to do with scanning being "the mark of the beast" I did google and found a link to a blog which claims this was said by someone who works there. And of course we all know it must be true if it is on the Internet. And no, I'm not really a conspiracy theorist, it just was the first thing I remembered. I am just jealous that you have huge craft stores that sell lots of scrapbook stuff cheap, even if you do have to line up. Corinne

I read this completely wrong and thought you were asking if YOU were too old for a sewing machine! I have to agree with the suggestion to get it serviced.
Last weekend I bought a new machine because my Singer machine of 30 years was just not working that great. And to be honest I was lured in by the thought of a one step buttonhole, instead of four. As part of the deal they will service my old machine for free - I can't part with it for sentimental reasons so I hope it gets a new lease of life with the service. I probably will still use it for scrapbooking and crafty things and keep my new one for clothes and costumes.

We stayed at the Honua Kai last year and loved it. Lots of different little pool areas, some adult only which suited us, but lots of fun for kids too. We hired a car and there was so much to do relatively nearby. We stayed in a studio apartment complete with kitchen. We went to the Safeway(?) supermarket to buy food and were in there for several hours. Our first time in an American supermarket - so many choices of EVERYTHING compared to where we live!! They offer snuba diving and snorkelling which was fun. We chose the Honua Kai after hours spent on Trip Advisor. It is how we picked all our places to stay in Hawai, on Oahu, The Big Island and Maui and we were not disappointed with any of them. Enjoy your holiday. I am very jealous. We hope to come again next year. Corinne

Many years ago I had a friend that would buy very expensive clothing, wear it to weddings etc then return them. On day she bought a $250 dress (very expensive nearly 30 yrs ago) which was cream lace. Her husband forced her to return it as he was sure she would spill something on it and they would have to keep it. She argued for ages and was devestated to return it. My daughter works in retail and yes, after race days young guys come in with shoes they have worn for a few days. To minimise the wear and tear they apparently cover the bottom of the shoes in gaffer tape. She discovered this, as one of the guys forgot to remove it! After saying he had never worn them.

After using my father's own notes on his life story to put together a eulogy for his funeral, I have started writing my own version of my life story. While not exactly writing my own obituary, I would hope it would at least make it easy for someone to put together one for me. I would like it to include memorable moments from my childhood, perhaps the story where I was so stubborn and wouldn't put on my shoes and my parents drove off (around the block) and when they came back I was STILL sitting there with no shoes on! Definitely something about my teaching. I didn't finish high school and had a baby a week before my 18th birthday, so I am very proud of going back to uni as a single parent when she was 5 and becoming a teacher- a job I love. I have made a list of things in preparation for my funeral, what kinds of flowers, service, songs and even who is NOT to be invited. (the last one sound a bit terrible but I can't bear the thought of hypocrytical people being there, a little irrational I know, but my sister has promised me she'll carry out my wishes even if my husband disagrees. He is a bit more forgive and forget than me. ) It was my 50th birthday last year and I put together a slide show for that so I am hoping to add some new photos each year so that it can be used. It was such a huge job to hunt down and collect photos from family members and scan them so hopefully no-one will need to do it for me. It may seem a little morbid to some, but I so wish I had taken the time to have more of a discussion with my mum about these things. She has dementia and although I feel confident to make decisions I really wish she could have had more input into what will be the celebration of her life. Corinne Corinne

Ugh. Anyone pushing anything at me on my front doorstep annoys the hell out of me. When it's someone pushing their religion I always give them a huge smile and politely tell them I'm an atheist, and would love to tell them more about my chosen non-beliefs, so would they be so kind as to leave me their address and I will visit them unannounced one day? That usually does the trick. Can't say we've had anyone come to the door with a child yet, but that won't prevent me from using my standard response. We always had people knocking on our door early on Saturday mornings and finally my husband invited them in. He is an atheist and enjoys a good, fiesty debate on religion. They returned several times, each time bringing more senior members of the church with them. And yes, they often had young boys with them. They would leave pamphlets which he would read, write notes on and discuss when they next visited. I was getting annoyed having strangers sitting around drinking tea in my lounge room while I was trying to clean the house and said so, but they actually gave up first and stopped coming around of their own free will!!

My dies finally arrived today so this weekend I will be trying your suggestions. A few of you have mentioned Silhouette files that match your stamps?? I have a Cameo. Can you explain how you do this? Do you need to have the designer software? So far I have not upgraded nor used any files other than those bought from the silhouette store so I'm not sure how to do these things. Thanks in advance. I'm a teacher/librarian in Australia. I teach science to Year 2 and Year 7 students and Resource based learning with the rest of the school, Reception to Year 7. I have been teaching for 25 years, mostly classroom teaching from years 4-7, but have also worked as a Drama/Art specialist teacher, AET (Aboriginal education teacher), NAP (new arrivals program) and as a Behaviour support teacher. I love that I have been able to do such a variety of work, I think it stops me from becoming jaded! I really enjoy the teacher threads, as teaching seems to be very different in the US than here. Easily my favourite paper ever! In fact, seeing it on 2Peas led to my first internet purchase. I bought a pad of the Den papers and still have some left now! Like others, some of my favourite layouts were done using their paper. I really miss the classic plaid designs, you don't see too much of it around anymore. Of course, I still have a sizable stash along with all my SEI and KI memories paper.

Mmm... last weekend I used some Making Memories metal embellishments on a page - a little plaque with a quote and a couple of little metal bars with short phrases. I used one of Kaisercrafts latest range of papers that had a lot of grey in it and I just needed a few little clusters of something and they were perfect! I also used an old shipping tag and wasn't happy with any twine or ribbon I had so I found a lunchbox FULL of Twistel. The mustard one suited my layout colours perfectly. I think I win. These things were probably bought over 10 years ago I think! Corinne

I still love them. I have 6 bottles sitting on a shelf right in front of me right now and they are all only about a quarter empty. I do use them but nowadays instead of punching cardstock or putting brads in the middle, I just squeeze a touch of Stickles into the centre. When and if I ever do use them up I'm sure I'll find something else to store in those cute little bottles.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I don't know all the song but am going to do some searching for costume ideas. And I might have to change my avatar picture after Halloween with this years' costume - to replace the picture from last year. Corinne ETA And I think all the guests would go home if I welcomed them wearing an itsy bitsy yellow polka dot bikini!

I think I might actualy remember the song! I will have to go look it up. And yes, fanny here means your "front bum: Corinne ETA- I just looked it up. I loved that song. Admittedly I was ten at the time. The chorus does focus more on the "be tender with my love" bit so I had forgotten about the fanny. But my favourite book was "the Enchanted wood" and Fanny was one of the main characters so I would not have thought twice about it either.

This year we have decided to have a theme for our party- come as your favourite song. Pretty sure my husband is doing Rock Lobster but I'm still trying to come up with ideas. I sew so can do homemade costumes without many problems. At the moment I'm tossing up between 99 Luft balloons or Bat out of Hell, but I'm not really THAT excited about either of them so am looking for creative suggestions. Thanks! Corinne

I have joined up there also because I miss having a gallery to look at and have decided to be brave and start posting my layouts. I never did at 2 Peas. I have tried to take photos but they never turn out that great so I think I will try the scanning approach. I have a scanner so does anyone have any helpful hints or links to tutorials that they found useful? Thanks in advance!

I've used Peaceful, Easy feeling from the Eagles on a layout about lying in a hammock in Fiji and I did an entire layout based on the song 100 years by Five for Fighting about how time is passing by. I also used In the living years by Mike and the Mechanics on a layout about my dad which I love because it included a picture of us towards the end of his life and the journaling talked about our sometimes bumpy relationship over the years. Pussycat, Pussycat I love you from Burt Bacharach on a kitten page.
It's a great question, next time I look through my books I'm going to make a list. I'm pretty sure I have used lots more. Will definitely watch this thread to see what other people come up with.

I just saw a Two Peas in a pod layout in the new designs released at the Silhouette store. I already had the little 2 peas file but this is a whole layout design. I wonder if it's a coincidence or whether someone read the threads here about creating layouts about 2Peas! Corinne

I know 2 Lisas. One was born in 1962 so she's 51, but the other one is in her early twenties. Actually I also teach a little girl called Lisa- she is 7 or 8. I think it's still a very pretty name. Corinne

I use Loreal Excellence too. My problem is I forget what colour I last used so each time my hair is a slightly different shade of brown/auburn. I dyed my hair yesterday and cut the top of the box and kept it in the bathroom drawer so I can remember next time. I sometimes try other brands but find none of them keep the grey at bay as long as Loreal.
