I have both the MISTI and the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. They both do the same thing, but the TH Platform, IMO, is a far sturdier piece of equipment. The cover/lid on my MISTI is permanently "dirty" despite treating it with kid gloves and using only the special cleaners suggested by the mfg. Makes it difficult to use for its intended purpose because I can hardly see the grid lines. On the other hand, although most of my clean up is with water and a Absorber, I can clean my TH Platform by spraying ink cleaner directly on it and it is as crystal clear as the day I got it. Also, I like the open sides that allow you to work on larger pieces of card stock. I'm sure you'll find many different opinions on stamp positioners. I will say that once my TH Traveler's size Platform arrives, that MISTI is destined for the trash!

In addition to the dies for the 3x4 and 4x6 cards, I used dies for stars, hearts, arrows, small banners, circles, small alphabets and triangles a lot when I did pocket scrapbooking.

I've always voted in the national and state elections. But I will admit, in my younger years when I traveled extensively for work and voting absentee was not as prevalent or easy, that I did not vote in all primaries and special elections. That has changed and for 30+ years I have voted at every opportunity.

I bought both a ream of Neenah solar white 110 and a ream of Neenah solar white 80. I took it to my office depot and had them cut ~ 75% of it for me. I cut the 80 into card fronts (4.25" x 5.5"- a quad cut) & the 110# into card bases ( half of it 4.25"X11" & half of it into 5.5"x8.5"- 2x sheet.) I did this over a year ago & still have plenty left, along with several full size sheets. I make a lot of cards! I am so glad I did this. The idea came from Jennifer McGuire. I do this, too. I use the UPS Store. I took 3 reams of Michael's 110# in early November and I was just back there last week to get another 3 reams cut. I usually have 2 reams cut into the 4.25x11 and 1 into the 5.5x8.5. It's so convenient to just grab a card base and start creating! Jennifer McGuire always has the best ideas.

@amayalylac $30 is the new shipping cost - it used to be $20 for the12x12 Kit. Wow! That almost doubles the cost of the kit for internationals. I'll be surprised if they'll have many international customers after this rate increase. I have 1 more month left on my scrapbook subscription and then I'll be getting rid of that. I like exclusive products but the last 2 months have been "misses" for me.

What weight of Neenah card stock do you consider too light? I have some Neenah Exact Index 110 lb. card stock (250 sheets, about $8 at Sam's Club) that I cut up for inserts in my stamp pockets. It's very light. I also have Neenah Solar White 110 lb heavy weight card stock (250 sheets, about $56 at Amazon) that I use for anything that is going to be Copic colored. These 2 are radically different - one is index and the other is cover. The cover is much, much heavier.
I have 2 recommendations for you. The first is the Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110 lb. You may be able to find it in smaller quantities at places other than Amazon. The second is Michael's Recollections 110 lb. card stock. I use this for all my card bases and have run it through my Canon Pixma printer with great success.

I've pm'd this info to GiantsFan but since others are asking about it, I'll post it here, too. Here are some of the places I donate cards: Cards for a Cause - A different cause every month, they have ranged from hospice to pet rescues to Meals on Wheels. The organization may ask for specific types of cards like thank you cards for the pet rescue to send to their donors or general cheer/thinking of you for Meals on Wheels recipients. You can see some of the previous months here. Any amount of cards can be sent and there is no commitment. www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/cards-cause-f215/Ronald McDonald House - You can participate in 3 ways here - as a hostess (for the Ronald McDonald House in your area), a monthly donor (minimum of 10 cards a month) or a donor who will provide cards as he or she can. The hostess will typically specify the types of cards they are looking for. If nothing is specified, kids birthday cards and thank you cards are always needed. www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/cards-new-open-swaps-f426/open-recruiting-2017-2018-ronald-mcdonald-house-month-swap-t617797.htmlCards From the Heart Card Drive - This one is for Valentine's cards for kids in hospitals. It's just about over for this year. (Cards have to reach the organizer by Jan. 31). There are some fairly strict requirements for this one - nothing sparkly, glittery, anything that can be pulled off, etc. due to health hazards to fragile children. The organizer spells out the details in her blog. winterwonderlandcrafter.blogspot.com/2018/01/2018-cards-from-heart-card-drive.html Caring Hearts Card Drive - If you like to make Christmas cards, this one's for you. The recipients are residents of nursing homes. They will begin accepting cards in October. lingshappyplace.blogspot.com/p/2017-caring-hearts-card-drive.html I'm adding one more: Royal Family Camp Card Drive - This is a week long camp for abused children. As I understand it, the camp counselors and other staff members give each kid a card every day of the camp. They hold a birthday party for all attendees (since some of them have never had a celebration) so birthday cards are always welcome. They also need a lot of encouragement cards (you are awesome, great job, you are a star, I'm proud of you, etc.). This camp typically runs sometime in June and the organizer has asked for cards by late May. I'm trying to reach her to confirm that she is once again collecting cards and the dates she needs them. www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/1665527/I'm always looking for other donation opportunities so if anyone knows of others, please let me know.

This is my first month and I’m so disapointed that I subscribed, the shipping is gone up by 50% and I can’t add anything til mid month when I will have to pay shipping again This is the worst subscriber mistake I’ve made, I’m cancelling as soon as my 3 months are up Which sucks cause I do love the kits As a subscriber, you can add to your order and it will ship free. Did you see the code on the front page of the shop? From the CD website: At checkout, please use the following coupon code to get free shipping on your order of items to be shipped with your subscription: BRIGHTSHIPPING

What a great idea!!! I bet the residents will put them to good use.
You do exactly what I do when packaging cards for donation right down to the plastic sleeve and the inclusion of the inside sentiment on a small piece of paper.
I also could have written your first paragraph word for word. Joy comes in the making for me, too. I donated over 1,000 cards last year and hope to donate 1,200 this year. If you need donation sites, let me know. I can point you in the right direction.

I bought the Scraperfect No Clog Writing Cap. It's available in 3 sizes and I got the size that will fit on the .5 oz. bottle of Matte Medium. I've only been using it for about a month but so far, so good. scraperfect.com/product/no-clog-writing-caps/I also use the Zig Chisel Tip Glue Pen. So when you are done using a cap for the Matte Medium, do you remove it from the container and flush it out? Leave it on the little bottle? I don't look after my Glossy Accents very well, and often have to unclog with a needle. But I am thinking the ones you are talking about would have openings big enough to do that? I threw away the original Matte Medium cap when I put the No Clog cap on. When I'm done using it for the day, I just tap the bottle on the table to settle the medium back into the bottle. No rinsing. Whether I'll be able to transfer the No Clog cap to a new bottle of Medium remains to be seen. I'm not sure I've ever "finished" a bottle in my life - I've always had to throw out clogged bottles. I just used it again this morning and it worked perfectly.

I have cut several sheets of printables on the SNC. Some were gridded journal boxes and others were the monthly Cocoa Daisy subscriber printables. Next I’m going to try the sheet of labels included in Kelly Purkey’s kits.

I bought mine a week ago just for cutting stamped images for card making (eliminating the need to buy matching dies). A big plus was that it doesn't need to be connected to a computer to work. It took me under 30 minutes to get it unpacked, set up and cutting images. The only settings I changed were those recommended in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl-jQka-x-EI shut off the welcome screen, set the cut pressure to 1 and set the blade to 9.5. That's it - and it's cut 110 lb. Neenah card stock beautifully every time. I ordered 3 new stamp sets today. Before this, I would have also purchased the dies at a cost of about $50. I figure I'll have saved enough in the next month or 2 to justify the purchase.

Listening to podcasts while I'm in my craft room. And they don't necessarily need to be related to creativity/scrapbooking/card making. Just something to keep my mind busy while my hands are busy so I actually stay in the room and get something done.

This thread was so helpful to me last year. I certainly didn't accomplish every thing on my list each month but it helped me focus on what needed to get done. January goals: 1) Finish and send cards for the December Cards for a Cause (these will go out tomorrow!) - 20 cards done!2) Make and send cards for the January Cards for a Cause - made and mailed 96 Valentine cards!3) Make and send cards for the January Ronald McDonald House - 20 cards mailed!4) Replenish my stash of birthday, thank you and thinking of you cards - 6 birthday cards added5) Work on December TN - not a darn thing done6) Take pictures, record stories for January TN - up to date through yesterday7) Put together a "Books I've Read" TN and start using it - well, I've finished 3 books so far this year. Guess I better get my TN started!New update! I'm so proud of myself for really buckling down and hitting my goal for Valentine cards. Tomorrow I will be attempting to put my craft room back in some semblance of order. I will go through my Valentine supplies and purge anything I don't think I'll use and then put it all away until next year. OK, I'll admit there's one box of Christmas stamping supplies that I need to do the same with. And then I'm moving on to working on January memory keeping in my TN.

I hope you love yours as much as I love mine. I got mine last Friday and it's had quite the workout making Valentine's Day cards since then. It's great to revisit those stamp sets that never had matching dies.

I miss running to Archiver's on my lunch hour. It is so much more fun to see things in person, rather than buying online. My checkbook is happier, though! Popping into Archiver's for red cardstock usually ended up with a bill of at least $25. This is my answer, too. I miss them so much! Seeing product in person, that great wall of Bazzil, crafting at Manias, etc. My Archiver's was next to the grocery store. My weekly "grocery" bill dropped significantly when they closed.

I scrap in a traveler's notebook insert so I try to keep it very flat. Just photos, journaling cards, die cuts and lots of stamping.
For cards, I usually have an element on foam adhesive. Twine or sequins might also make an appearance but I have to keep mailing in mind so I don't go too crazy.

I got mine today, too! It's fabulous!!! I had it unpacked, set up and cutting images in under a half hour. They are perfect. I watched a YouTube video by Hedgehog Hollow and used all the settings she used. I think she only changed about 2 of the factory settings. Here's the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl-jQka-x-E
