I finally finished the album I’ve been working on of the trip my DH and I took last fall. It seemed to take much longer than it should have for some reason. But I am very happy with the way it turned out! Now on to the next one of the surprise birthday party my DD gave me a few months ago.

My weekend started today as I had the day off so I’ve already gotten and a few pages done and thankfully gotten the rest of my vacation photos printed for the album I’m working on.

I need absolute silence. But I’m the rare individual who always prefers silence. I can’t stand to ever watch tv or movies. I only occasionally listen to music in the car while driving. I even find podcasts disrupting. I know this is very strange.

I've been on vacation the past 10 days so I've had more reading time than usual. I finished Alternate Side by Anna Quindlen, which I really liked. I also reread Beartown by Fredrik Backman, which is one of favorite books ever! I wanted to reread it before I started Us Against You, which I am now reading and enjoying.

My card made with the June HA kit. It was fun to make, tried a few new techniques. I need to learn more about using post-it tape and masking techniques. That card is amazing!! I love it!!

We just got home yesterday from a long road trip to Yellowstone Park in Wyoming. So today I printed a few of my 1250 photos I took and am now working on finishing an album of a trip we took last fall before I start on these new photos from this vacation.

This past week I finished After Anna by Lisa Scottoline. It definitely wasn't one of my favorite books ever. But I'm also not a big mystery reader either. Wait...your username is nancydrew but you’re not a big mystery reader? 😉 That’s funny! I actually never thought of that!!

I like the colors...looks like Doodlebug Hello and Paige Evans had a baby. I like the addition of the brown; I know a lot of scrappers don't like brown, but I do! Yeah, I get that. And I have a personal dislike of "blessed" (although I am a Christian). I love brown! It is probably the color I use most! I could definitely do without the peacock and llama, but otherwise I really like this collection. That doesn’t surprise me though, I usually love anything by Jen Hadfield and Pebbles!

I have been scrapbooking most of the weekend and having a wonderful time although I’m wondering if I’m crazy?? I have been working on and just about finished with a mini album of a party my DD and her SO had. The problem is they are having a few issues and may or may not stay together. I’m wondering if she will want the album or not. But I decided if she doesn’t, I will keep it. I actually love how it turned out and it was a really nice day. I hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday weekend!

I loved it (and that’s saying a lot since I don’t really care for tv and hardly watch it!). I didn’t realize there was going to be a second season. I’m very excited to hear that! Looking forward to seeing it!

I had a mostly good reading week. First up, Lawn Boy. This one is about, well, a lawn boy. Here's my GR review. Meh. I was completely underwhelmed. The main character wanders through his sad life with tons of mishaps, finally finding some fulfillment at the end. 3 stars is actually a bit generous. Next up was Beartown. Finally. Here's my GR review. If you pick this up, expecting to read about hockey, you'd be right. But you'd also be wrong. It's about so much more than hockey -- love, tragedy, loyalty, overcoming, what makes a family, the decisions we make that shape our futures, and much, much more. Beartown follows four young hockey players -- Amat, Benji, Kevin, and Bobo; and two girls, Ana and Maya; and their respective families in their hometown of Beartown. The boys are the stars of their local hockey team and enjoy the status that comes with that stardom. Until it all falls apart. And that's where the story really starts. Unputdownable. One of my favorite reads of the year, Backman slapped the puck into the goal on this one to win the Stanley Cup. 5/5 glorious stars. Lisa I loved Beartown!! It was one of my favorite books ever! I am really looking forward to reading the sequel this summer.
