My first boyfriend had a 1975 white Jeep CJ5, the short one with the wheel well cut into the door, whichI was mostly a passenger in, but drove a fair amount. It had a soft top, and the soft doors, no radio, no locks, no anything you could steal. I was 18 and in the Army early 80s. We lived in Monterey CA and drove all over the central coast and valleys, it might have been loud, but we didn't notice. I loved that vehicle! 😍
My second one was a 1989 red Jeep Wrangler soft top, half metal doors, no radio, no locks, no anything you could steal, that I was leasing from my mother's co-worker/friend while he was over seas for a few years. I was 25 and living in South Lake Tahoe. Commuted back and forth to San Francisco to see my boyfriend, now husband, and later from San Francisco to Los Angeles, also to see my boyfriend. I was never much bothered by the rode noise in it. I loved that vehicle! 😍
I never had any real issues with either one of them. They both got regularly scheduled maintenance. The CJ5 we sold with over 300,000 miles. And last I heard, the jeep I leased is still getting around in San Francisco with its original owners kids at the wheel.
My sister recently purchased a 2022, tricked out Bronco. Holy cats does she carry on about her ride! 😈
All that said, I wouldn't want a bare bones Jeep again, but with some bells and whistles and a hard top I might be persuaded to get another. And my sister's Bronco is bitchin'!

So, this just means that Amazon will delivery when they want to no matter what we prefer. Yes, and it’s so frustrating! We ended up putting a big deck storage box on our front porch with instructions on the top to please put packages *inside* the box, then also put a basket of packaged snacks in there with a note to take one, LOL. I’d say it works about 95% of the time. At least if the packages are put inside the box they aren’t visible on the front steps from the street. I think I'll try a deck box next. Hopefully Amazon can get on board with a snack.

I'm going to add a gripe about Amazon to your thread.
I always ask them to put my delivery behind the huge brick pillar that is on my porch instead of right against my front door because my house is at the top of the T of our road and you can see my porch from a long ways down the road. I have even resorted to putting up a sign asking them to drop packages behind the pillar. UPS, FedEx, USPS can all manage to read the sign, but Amazon, where I have an option to remind them when I order, cannot follow directions, nor read my sign. Grrr. Got home after being gone a few days to several packages behind the pillar, and all Amazon packages smack in front of the door.

Very cool. I hope it all comes together perfectly.
We bought our house on our way to pick my sister up at the airport on Mother's Day. We had decided to stop looking at houses for awhile, but came upon this new development. We knew which style we wanted and they showed us one that had just fallen out of escrow. We checked the backyard for privacy, and left a dollar for ernest money before zipping off to the airport. We are still living here 27 years later.

I'm assuming that family dinner tonight happened because it was your birthday, so I will fully back you that something should have been done, even if it was just a card.
I'm sorry that happened.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Many years ago I went with my sisters who were having readings. I waited out in the lobby for them. As we were leaving she called me by a nickname that only my siblings use, and only when we were quite young. She then told me that I wasn't going to marry the blond haired boy I thought I was going to marry and said my husband had dark hair and unusual green eyes. She nailed it!

We bbq on a 20 year old Weber over wood. It's the only way Dh likes to cook outside. I'm pretty good at it too.

Hmm, just not sure I would make it that long. My guess is I would have filled several notebooks with weird ramblings and questions for people I missed. mom, sending you a 20 second quiet hug.

I wonder if I can get him to do a song for my name. It's not hard to pronounce, but most don't get it right the first time they see it.
