Ds was about 4 and he was in his bathroom pooping. He used to call dh or myself into the bathroom with him because he "got bored". This time he has called me in. We are not bathroom humour kind of people. I'm standing in front of the vanity waiting for him to finish when he explosively passes gas. He very sweetly looks at me and says, "Oh my, my butt sneezed." Like straight out of a cartoon I burst out laughing and in the process of doubling over, I crack my forehead on the vanity. All of this gets the attention of dh who walks in as ds says, "Wow, what a day! My butt sneezes and mama's a head banger!" Dh just crumpled to the floor in laughter. I got to tell the hilarious story all day due to the goose egg in the middle of my forehead.

Seems to be I'm resilient, a badass, and probably a sucker. I've been dealing with one thing after another with one family member after another since late Jan. I have 4 siblings and 3 step siblings and 2 parents. I'm the only one that seemed to have what it took to get everyone back to living their best lives. I'm a bit exhausted and maybe have a touch of PTSD. I'm working on self care now.

My mom is 0- my dad was 0+. My oldest sister is 0+. My second sister had Rh Incompatibility and had to have a blood transfusion and doesn't remember what type she has. I have 0+ as does my brother behind me. My mom received RhoGAM with both of us. My little sister's dad was B+, but his dogtags had told him he was B-, she also had to have a blood transfusion and is B+.

Whitecaps Pizza in Kings Beach is in our top 3 all time favorite pizza places. They also have a decent craft beer selection.

I would ignore her. You very succinctly told her you were no contact. If you respond at all, she will continue to contact you. I am sorry she put you in this position in the first place. Greed amongst siblings sucks. I am on the cusp of having to deal with this with my 4 siblings and 3 step-siblings. Its going to suck.

That there are not two actors named Ralph Fiennes and Ray Fines. 🤣🤣🤣 This comes as a most shocking revelation. I was watching a show about Lord Somebody and his motor car collection and his sex scandals, and they kept mentioning his son Rafe but it is spelled Ralph and I fell down a rabbit hole of pronunciations. Also, the estate is called Beaulieu, which most in this country would probably guess is called "BO-lew" but is actually pronounced BYOO-lee. Like Bueller. 😳 I did know his name is pronounced Rayf as I was in England the first time I heard of him. I was surprised to later see it was spelled Ralph. What show were you watching. Beaulieu is one of our favorite places to visit - I was just there over Thanksgiving. Needless to say, there is no mention of a scandal at Beaulieu. I know of Beaulieu because of wellway, and how to pronounce it because of RedSquirrelUK! The motor museum is FABULOUS! There are the ruins of an old Abbey, that is always a treat to read about and explore and the manor house was used as a spy school during WWII. Many notable spies came thru that school, to include several very famous women!

I posted this in response to someone else after we got back in Dec. We have been many times, so very little of my list hits the big touristy things. However, many of those things are very cool and not crowded. We did stay in Airbnbs. One in South Kensington and one in Hammersmith. Both were great, but very different from each other. We also wanted to be able to chill at the end of the day, so these worked.
Sky Garden in the walkie talkie bldg - tickets are free a week in advance, or you can reserve a bar reservation for a cocktail, or even dinner in one of the 3 restaurants and have access to the Sky Garden. I recommend going while it is still light out and staying thru sunset into darkness. You won't regret the views from up there. Two things nearby are The Monument to the Great Fire, which you can climb the 100+ steps to the top of, and the smallest statue in London - I'll leave you to discover it.
Madison - it is on the top (6th, I think) floor of a shopping center right near St Paul's Cathedral. On your way up to the rooftop bar on the elevator, you have a full glass elevator with the most gorgeous view of St Paul's Cathedral. Definitely a dusk into night thing. We did the Queen's Walk along the southbank, it ends at St Paul's Cathedral.
Columbia Road Flower Market - if you are there on a Sunday 8am - 2pm. Its truly a delight. A pleasant walk from Old Street station will get you there in about 20 min. There are other stations that are also about a 20 min walk. Bethnal Green is one and maybe Liverpool Street. You can also take the overground to Hoxton and have a 7 min walk.
If you are looking for an outstanding fish dinner, I cannot recommend strongly enough Fish Central! I love fish, all fish, I've lived near the ocean for most of my life, BEST FISH DINNER EVER. Closest underground is Old Street.
Covent Garden is a fancier market, and has a bunch of high end stores and nice restaurants.
Old Spitalfields has all kinds of vendors and a lot of food carts with loads of yummy food choices.
Borough Market is a classic, but I strongly recommend you avoid Saturday. It's just crazy packed. If you do go to the market, it's worth standing in line inside for the paella and outside, by the seating bleachers, for the pork sandwiches.
Chez Abir Restaurant is a Lebanese restaurant that is outstanding, and we've eaten a lot of Lebanese food in London. It is on the far west side of Kensington/Earl Court area. Can't remember nearest underground, but it is a 10 min walk from it.
Somerset House has an incredibly amazing collection of art, in a former estate, that is magnificently set up so that you see each piece with informative descriptions of the art and the house. Nearest underground is Holborn.
John Soane's Museum is a treat! The guy was an architect that gives us that very broad arch you will see in the bridges crossing the Thames as well as at the top of the red telephone boxes. His house is full of curiosities, I mean every surface full, but the guy had money, so it's massively cool stuff. If you go, ask the docents you come across for their favourite thing in the house. They are very knowledgeable.
If you go out Portobello Road way, stop in at Biscuiteers. They have the cutest biscuits ever! A biscuit for my Peaps!
Hope this helps!

I guess mine is technically a dressing gown as it zips up the front. Mine is shin length, super sleepy fuzzy fur, with a hood and two pockets with bunny faces sewn on and floppy bunny ears. Its called Bunny Woobers and I love her. I wear it in the mornings when I'm cold.

Thank you for the update. I did get a hold of a neighbor to check in on my hibernating desert tortoise. I was scheduled to go see my family in Indiana 12 Feb - 26 Feb, but on 26 Jan my brother landed in ICU with a MRSA infection in his lungs that had traveled from a cut on his leg and I came out immediately, as it was a bit touch and go. He is doing better and should be out of ICU tomorrow. I want to come home, but its probably making more sense to just stay. Wish I had packed better. 😖 Oh how scary. Glad he is doing better. This weekend we should be drying out for a little while but understand wanting to stay if you can. Shopping? Definitely shopping. My head must have been pretty wacky, because my suitcase is nuts. 😖 On the plus side my brother is out of ICU, and had incredible improvements today. Hopefully just a couple more days and we will bring him home.

Anyone know how Ventura County faired. Specifically Thousand Oaks. Dh and I are both out of town in different places, with little internet service. Thanks. It hasn't been too bad here. It's rained a lot and for longer periods of time that I ever recall recently but we do dry out inbetween. Right now, Tuesday afternoon it hasn't rained since earlier this morning and then it was light rain. It's been chilly though, wow! I've enjoyed it being cozy and WFH but I'm staying off the roads as possible and I told my team to do the same. No need to haul into the office if we don't have to. I've watched the local news and we've had incidents here and there but I don't think anything major has happened like last year, thankfully. When do you expect to be back home? I hope you are having a nice trip Thank you for the update. I did get a hold of a neighbor to check in on my hibernating desert tortoise. Ah, yes, kamper is right, we exchanged a couple of hundred dollars, and spent the month struggling to get rid of it. We ate at the Darwin Brasserie in Sky Garden. The food was great! Our table location, we are still talking about it. We had a corner table up against windows with a view I will never forget! One more thing, everywhere you order food, they will ask about food allergies or there are signs prominently posted suggesting you do so.
