Have a two night stay in NW Arkansas (about 100 miles away from where I live) planned for the end of the month. Ds and I attend an annual music festival at a local small college. Not huge, probably less than 5,000 people attend, mostly over 55, most from southern/northern US. We are still planning on attending, but given the average age of most participants, and I’m sure fear of the virus will keep many home, I bet they cancel.
Also have a trip booked to NY to see family in early June. Will wait and see what happens, I may have to cancel that, and will if it looks dicey. I can rebook with no penalty which is why I booked flights (and the fare went down almost $300!) last week. I’m healthy, but I’m 68.

My girls and I flew from Houston to Atlanta this past Saturday (we're in Atlanta now) for Spring Break. Let me tell you that both airports were P-A-C-K-E-D! Tons of school groups traveling out of Houston and security was crazy long lines except pre-check. We saw not one person in Houston with a mask or gloves, but did see lots of hand washing and sanitizer use. At Hartsfield, we saw maybe 6 or 7 people in masks (three appeared to be airport maintenance workers). It is definitely business as usual here. We drive to Charleston tomorrow and then back to Atlanta on Saturday for our flight home.

I'm about to book my flight to Germany this summer. I'm hoping by July things will be under control, but I'm taking advantage of the new rule that flight booked before the end of March can be transferred without an additional charge.

My DD and her BF are going to Paris end of May for her 21st birthday. I can't see her cancelling at all unless the area is locked down beforehand. They are traveling by Eurostar.

We're flying to Ft Lauderdale on April 24th and leaving on a southern Caribbean cruise with RC on the 25th. We're planning to go unless RC cancels the cruise.

We leave for DC on Sunday. We don’t plan to cancel unless public spaces like museums start closing. I don’t want to pay to go on a trip and not be able to see everything. We will also be in DC for a family trip on Sunday. My daughter has a compromised immune system and we aren’t canceling either unless we see DC start a quarantine. I’ve booked us a VRBO rather than a hotel so we can be away from people.

the flights and the risk of quarantine are the biggest concerns. Yes, agreed. It's a tough one.

No, there is no reason to other than the tendency of the general public to panic. I'm immunocompromised and I am still flying the first week of May.

One kid is going to FL during spring break. So far, the trip is still happening. Depending on what's happening there then, he may be forbidden to visit Grandma afterwards for a few weeks.

My son's scheduled to fly next week to a big swim meet - latest word is they're going ahead with the meet. We're waiting to hear if the big world championship robotics tournament will go ahead in April. My kids' team has already qualified. It involves a lot of international teams.

Both my high school boys are also performing with their jazz band at Disneyland in a couple weeks. They also have a Latin convention in Southern California in April I’ve not heard anything about it being cancelled. Our spring break plans though are up in the air at the moment. Also some colleges are cancelling their admitted students days...

www.foxnews.com/media/dr-fauci-elderly-underlying-conditions-coronavirusInteresting news to consider From the article Dr. Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said on Monday that the elderly and those with underlying medical issues should immediately suspend all travel plans, warning that they could have an acute reaction if exposed to the virus.

Dh and I have a trip to Portland Oregon and the coast of southern Washington scheduled for the end of this month. We have already paid for everything and none of it is refundable. I really can’t decide what to do. We aren’t elderly or immunocompromised.

We pulled the plug on our Alaska cruise, mostly because my parents (who are in their 70s) weren't comfortable going. We're pushing it to next year.
DH and I are trying to come up with something else to do in place of it. It's our 10 year anniversary so we want to go somewhere!

I’m wondering if anyone has had any events cancelled other than travel?
I’m running a half marathon in 2 weeks and I’m very curious if it will end up being cancelled.. (this will make a big impact on my planning for “long runs” ughhhhhh)

Looking for official confirmation of this now.

What are you planning on seeing?! I love the Udvar Hazy Museum of Nat'l Air and Space. A little outside of DC tho. I hope you enjoy your trip! Arlington cemetery is also awesome.

Also some colleges are cancelling their admitted students days... Oh didn't even think of admitted student days. If they have to do that, hopefully they extend the commit date past May 1st, so maybe the students could visit at a later date. So far my daughter's university hasn't cancelled anything other than spring break/study abroad trips to a few countries. Her university is surrounded by/affiliated with some of the best hospitals in the country, so I think they will be on top of things.

(this will make a big impact on my planning for “long runs” ughhhhhh) Our women in engineering Girl Scout event was cancelled for next weekend and push to another weekend in May. It’s put on by Whirlpool, and that have a Coronavirus plan in place. Part of it is no large gatherings for their employees. And since this is hosted by women engineers who work there, it’s a no-go. I get it. I do. But I am mildly perturbed by this. There are no cases of Coronavirus in this area. I think cancelling at this point seems silly.

We have been to Arlington many times, my grandfather was killed in World War II and is buried at Arlington. My husband's co-workers from New Zealand were visiting last week and took a weekend trip to DC. They were not allowed to enter Arlington because they are not US citizens. I don't know if that's the rule, or if they misunderstood something.
