We canceled our trip to Utah. We would be visiting family including parents in their 70’s. Not worth the risk.

My active duty air-force daughter in Maryland was just proposed to by her marine boyfriend last night! He is stationed in North Carolina, but drives 6 hours every weekend to be with her. When he goes back to base on Sunday night, they won't be able to see each other until at least May 11th. I am so happy for them and so sad for them at the same time!!! She is 28 and has waited so long for this, ugh!!! Lisa

I have a question for those of you who are cancelling hotels. I was to go to NYC at the end of the month. I purchased my hotel room in November as part of the hotels chain's annual sale. It is non-refundable. This is a smaller "boutique" international chain (based in the EU) with 23 locations. I spoke with them via online chat last night and they will only allow me to rebook immediately. No credit for a future date, etc. I'd have to make my mind up now when I want to reschedule this trip. Needless to say, that's difficult to do right now. If I leave it be, I'm out $900. If you were me, what would your next step be? Call and speak with them in person today? Wait a few more days until things are worse? Not even bother to try and convince them to give me a hotel credit? What has your experience been when you've cancelled your reservation, especially if it was purchased as non-refundable? Do I call my CC company and ask them to deal with it on my behalf? Thanks! Just posting my tiny 'win' in the scheme of all things COVID 19. I finally was able to speak with a real person today, and clearly the hotel chain changed their policy. No charge, no change fee, no nothing. Just simply, easily, and without resistance they canceled my non-refundable reservation. I'm back to loving CitizenM hotels again

Dd is due to fly back to college next Monday. They will have been closed for 2 weeks and are currently not planning to extend it, but I assume they are watching just like everyone else.

My girlfriend desert trip is cancelled. All the events we had tickets for are cancelled with full refunds and our host is flying back to Canada while she can. I'm the least impacted because it was just a two hour drive for me, but everyone else has airline credits.
The next trip for us is in June to Greece and we're waiting it out for a while.

Any & all travel, vacations, etc needs to be put on hold for now while they get a handle on this. Domestic travel should already have been shut down.

Agreed, which is why I'm holding off on canceling my airline ticket. I'd prefer a refund over a travel voucher, and that won't happen until airline travel is either shut down, or my flight is completely canceled by the airline. I think we'll see (US) domestic airline travel start to shut down by mid-week.

WestJet, a Canadian airline, on Wednesday said they were expecting 12% layoffs on Friday it changed to: The union representing WestJet flight attendants is expecting layoffs of more than 50 per cent of its staff.

Just made the decision today to postpone our Vegas trip that we were to leave for on Tuesday. So bummed. It's a bummer, but the MGM (and Wynn) family of casinos are closing temporarily starting Tuesday... and I expect the Caesar's group isn't far behind.

Vegas is shutting down. MGM resorts announced today they are closing all their Las Vegas properties. This is huge. Encore and Wynn will also be closing. Caesars properties are staying open, for now, but that could change, too. My family was supposed to be on a cruise April 4th with 22 other friends. I am actually RELIEVED that the cruise was cancelled. We will all get through this and then the celebrations will be bigger and better than ever! Don't despair!

MichyM I’m glad that worked out so well! How is your son? Was he able to get the food he needed? I’m sorry for all the peas whose vacations have been impacted and hope you’re able to reschedule!

Thankfully I don't have anything booked until mid December when I'm flying to the UK for Christmas with my brother and his family.

We weren’t going to the strip, unless we had found a show, so that’s okay. We were staying with family. But, now, there is literally nothing to do out there, even off strip.

Last year’s trip wasn’t ideal, and this was a make up for that. We weren’t going to the strip, unless we had found a show, so that’s okay. We were staying with family. But, now, there is literally nothing to do out there, even off strip.

I am waiting to hear from my hotel about cancellation. I requested it. We are canceling our trip to Phx. So sad, this was my mom's "I finished chemo!" trip, but we cannot risk her getting sick, or possibly spreading anything.
