My son's college (Ohio State) just told students that all classes are going to be held online. Unfortunately he is a music performance major. He is supposed to graduate this year, and his band, chamber groups, lessons, and senior recital performances are all graduation requirements. We got an email late last night that said that EVERYTHING on campus was cancelled, and then an hour later got another email saying scratch that, they were still deciding what to do about labs and performance classes. We shall see how they handle it. I have a cruise scheduled in June, and if they sail I'll be on that boat. Huge fear at my daughter's performing and visual arts high school if they have to close down as well - every music, theater and dance student has 4/9 classes that are performance-based (and visual arts majors are graded on work they're supposed to do in studios they may not have access to at home).

We made plans last week to go to England and Wales for a Genesis concert but it's not until November. I figure things will either be under control by then or we will have already gotten and hopefully gotten over the illness. I hope so! Or at least for things to have calmed down and to be back to near normality. And not just for the UK.

Well, made the tough decision to cancel my trip to visit my son in NYC in 2 weeks. Going to try and reschedule for the fall. Haven’t seen him since Christmas so it’ll be a long slog until October. :/

I'll be pretty safe.. just driving to Kansas for Easter to see all my extended family (cousins/aunts/uncles, starting around 26 people and that is very conservative number.. it will probably hit 50 people) that I haven't seen in YEARS.. like since I was a kid or when I got married, a few of them were there. Looking forward to it. There is only one place we are stopping that has a lot of traffic is a huge truck stop that has a Starbucks. LOL.. I have to hit it.

Unfortunately we already have symphony and a broadway show that we will just have to eat the cost of 😣

I flew out of Columbus last Monday and out of Washington National yesterday. I totally wore a mask on the plane but none of my flights were near full. Yesterday there were 60 people on a plane that held over 150.
We were supposed to fly to puerto rico on the 16th then back on Friday and into Cincinnati for a big work event but they cancelled the event last night. I was trying to decide what to do now since flights need to be changed to go back to Columbus instead of CVG. If we stay in Puerto Rico until Monday instead of Friday it's something like 8,000 points less so we'r going to talk tonight and i'm pretty sure I'm going to talk him into a few more days.
Fortunately we are staying with friends who have a house so we can happily quarantine on the terrace if necessary. I'm kind of considering making a pit stop on the way home to see my kid in Tampa since we don't have the big event.
The airport was quiet yesterday, I'm SHOCKED at how many people at the hospitals and airports walked right by the sink without so much as a pause.

Good luck!

I'm actually sitting here thinking of booking a flight in June. 3 months... cheap flights.. I can always cancel and get a credit. Tempting.

We are checking about our upcoming events, I know some you can sell online and others you can’t.

My college aged dd was going to head to San Diego for spring break, but $228 round trip flights to Maui made her change her mind. She’s paying so not much I can say other than tell her to pack some Clorox wipes.

Update: we are still going to Peru (DH and I) but have decided to fly our youngest to Montana to stay with Nana instead of Nana coming here. We feel this will reduce the likelihood of Nana being exposed because there's no way she would just sit in the house while in Houston.
DH and I plan to check the news daily from Peru and fly home early if things seem to be heating up.

I'm not cancelling my Spring Break trip with my teenage daughter to see my parents in Seattle. All travel would have to be halted for me to not go. If we get sick, we get sick. I work at a job where I handle money all day, I'm sure I will get sick at some point anyway no matter the hand washing.

DD is booked to go on her 8th grade trip to Washington, DC. This is supposed to happen in mid-April for Spring Break.
I am so bummed, they are giving us updates and so far the trip is on but I'm SO nervous to send her even if they do go on. What if they get stuck/quarrantined and can't get back? Its across the other side of the country, I'm in California.
Nevermind the money, still trying to see if its not too late to get trip insurance, I stupidly didn't sign up to get it. U
I'm also having SUCH a hard time just trying to stay calm and not panic about everything. I can't read the other threads and I'm avoiding the news. I'm trying not to feel so Chicken Little and be brave and optimistic.

Well, shit. Last week, the spring break trip was on. Today, the district has cancelled all trips, so the school trip to Disney is now off. Now to deal with the fallout of that.

Waiting it out to make a decision about the cruise we have booked in the summer. Currently we only have the cruise booked (no flights or hotels) and can cancel with no penalties for a few more months so I’m just waiting (but also preparing myself to cancel)
DD’s birthday trip to Venice with a friend at the end of the month has been cancelled, unsurprisingly.
However, I just booked ds on a flight home from uni in Denmark tomorrow (they’ve announced they’re closing schools, units etc for at least a fortnight so at least one airline is getting some money from us!

I flew from the Bay Area to Austin last week, but this past weekend everything seemed to really go downhill so we canceled our trip to San Diego to see our daughter this weekend. I’m supposed to take my niece to So Cal in three weeks for a college tour, and we have plans to fly to Idaho in May. And of course we’re just now hearing that three TSA agents at our airport tested positive and 42 have been quarantined. I have a feeling we won’t be going anywhere soon.

Trump announced that all travel to Europe from the USA is cancelled. But they can still come in through the UK? And what about from the rest of the world? Like, oh, I don’t know...China? How will this policy help? I was in the shower during his speech, so I missed the details.

I still plan to go to Reno at the end of the month to play many many slot machines at the Peppermill, now will gloves and wipes. My 80 yo parents plan to go to Florida after Easter. I say they should, they are in excellent health and going to very familiar territory, unless there is nothing to do.
