In light of the current Covid-19 events and confinement rules, let's hold another MEGAAA Crop. I was unfortunately absent during most of the early March crop due to the sudden changes happening in my country regarding the spread of the coronavirus (apologies). As we have now entered the pandemic stage and the entire world is affected, let's encourage the #STAYATHOME movement by coming together online and craft. Any crafts are welcome and embraced! Just make sure you can use your stash. Please don't run to the store to buy crafty goods for the crop. Let's all stay in and make the most of the confinement. It can be difficult to feel like you've lost some of your freedom, to practice social distancing. Fortunately, technology has come a long way and we are lucky to be able to gather in a safe manner to spend some time together. Exceptionally, the crop will start on a Thursday (tomorrow, yay!) so that anyone feeling the need to get creative can dive in ASAP. I understand that many of us are working through some anxiety and fear at the moment so I hope the spirit of community and the creative outlet will help us all feel a little better. Come in, make your presence known and share what you'll be working on in the next few days. PSA: @northrigg's thread is filled with resources to document the coronavirus pandemic, including free goodies from digital designers. Don't hesitate to take a look in there if you want to scrap this historic crisis during the crop.

The Megacrop got pushed aside for me due to a surprise birthday celebration my DH threw for me and a sick kid. My two weekend long crops this month were both cancelled obviously so I’m definitely in. Thanks for starting this sleeping booty!

Great, love this! I missed a lot of the last crop because we were so busy with errands and such, but this time obviously we're staying home (other than I'm pretty sure we're going to need a grocery run and we're getting in daily walks as long as the weather cooperates). I still have so much to catch up on as I'm trying to work through story kits (my product organization system only allows me to have 4 kits to work with at a time and I have a back log of more than that, ideally I will have room for the current kit in my 4 kit rotation) and on project life (I still have a vacation week last September, all of November & December from 2019, and from 2020 I have half of February and some of March to do). My goal is to get most of my catch up done so I can start working through some of my special projects that are on hold (like last year's week in the life).
I was planning on working on all these projects this weekend anyways, but having the online community is especially great during this time.

Very exciting to see you ladies already in here! Creativity to keep our hands and brain busy and away from Covid-19 overload, community to foster togetherness and socialising in a time of physical separation. I'll probably work on current events. I do better when I process all the stuff that's happening in life. When I'll need a break from it (because, eventually, I will), I want to work on some Christmas stuff, particularly the "Classics" section in which I want to document my forever Christmas loves, traditions and habits. Christmas in March because why not?

I'll try and chat, hopefully create something, but my son has been off the walls hyper. Today I pick up the dreaded homework packet. His poor teacher! I don't know how she did around 10-12 individualized packets for his class (all special needs). I kid you not, he made a shiv out of a Popsicle stick yesterday. He's planning something.
People are annoying me, so I'll probably be making some mini albums. I have to be in a happy mood to scrap happy photos. I have plenty of adhesive and papers!

Sounds good. My IRL crop I was prepping for last time was (obviously) canceled this Saturday It's such a great crop too, bummer. But I hope to get back at it by the weekend. I haven't had any time to do anything, even tho working from home, finding it requires more time and is more tiring in ways!

Today is the first day in awhile that I've felt like scrapping. My anxiety has been high, and I've felt way too distracted and worried.
But today I'm finally feeling normalish, yay. The sun is shining. And then to see this crop planned, things are just feeling better in a lot of ways.

refugeepea Sounds like it's really tough on you. Eep at the shiv. Not the good king of eep... Sorry about cancelled crops and events, everyone. I hope this online gathering will make up for some of the planned things you're missing out on. Nasty virus!

Hey MEGA croppers! I want to set up a Hangout session on Saturday at noon MDT. So if you are jonesing for the sight of ANYONE other than the family you are cooped up with, you are welcome to join in. It's not an IRL crop, no snacks or sharing supplies, but it IS a way for us to "see" each other without the fear of infecting anyone!
Watch for a separate thread that will announce it prior to and include a link to the session when it starts.

(((Hugs))) mama Props to the teacher making modified packets. My youngest usually has a modified packet in accordance with his iep. For this? Everyone has the same packet & they just do what they can. I'm not putting pressure on him. Do whatever it takes to make your life easier, and help your ds to find his calm (& keep your sanity).

This morning i dug through my PL cards & cut apart cards, and pulled out any cards that might work for scrapping the pandemic. I think I'm going to alter some with stamps.
This morning I took pics of the younger kids blowing bubbles, playing abcmouse online, and playing Yeti in my Spaghetti board game.

refugeepea Sounds like it's really tough on you. Eep at the shiv. Not the good king of eep... He's cognitively a toddler. So no real intent. Sometimes my odd sense of humor doesn't translate into words very well.

Clearly, I don't have kids! Reminds me of a woman I met. Her three year old daughter was playing with a little kitchen play set. The little one hopped up on the couch next to me and put the little plastic knife to my eye. 😳 Um. Wow. I will be here for the crop. I love this idea and I thank you, sleepingbooty. 💓

Sounds good! It will be a good excuse to finally unpack after my crop last weekend although I've been waiting to unpack until I finally get around to defrosting (and inventorying/rearranging) our chest freezer which is right by my scrappy area.

I had to miss the last one, and DH and I have plans for house puttering this weekend. We had taken time off for a visit with his brother, which was cancelled. But we are planning to hunker down and tackle a bunch of projects. I try to join one day, but time will tell.
What a great idea, love this board.

Glad to see this - I was about to join some Fbk groups, which is never a good idea! (for me at least - I had finally broken free from that toxic relationship...) My life is pretty much business as usual, seeing as I already lived that socially-distant work-from-home life. But we had planned for 2 weeks off visiting family in NZ this month, which is obviously not happening, so I will give myself permission to come play with you guys as much as I want, and to take advantage of those new supplies I bought "to support small businesses" I'm starting to get past the overwhelm (several days trying to figure out if we were going to be getting on a plane or not), the sulking, the distracted messaging/scrolling, and settle back into a routine. In some ways being given these two weeks back is a bonus, although it's also a giant bummer. I'm mentally planning for a 2-3 month distancing period just to be prepared for whatever comes, so I'm pacing myself! We're already in week 3 of Stay Home over here because we distanced in advance of our trip to make sure we didn't bring any sickness with us. Air hugs to all, especially those with kids at home, especially refugeepea - I have an inkling of how much you're dealing with right now and how much stress and uncertainty can rub off on those with special needs. And to kitbop - we appreciate your hard work <3

Clearly, I don't have kids! One day when my twin DDs were 3 or 4, I walked into their room to find one straddling the other with a plastic knife held high, poised to come down on her sister. "What are you doing?!" She called back,"I'm giving her a C-section!" and plunged the knife into her sister's middle, wiggling the zipper of her pajamas open, and proceeded to pull out about 20 assorted teddy bears, bunnies and puppies. I still laugh thinking about it
