Ooh, this collection will be perfect for Alaska photos. It's giving me a wonderful PNW vibe, feels like home I think a lot of people are struggling with worry and uncertainty. I'm trying to check in with friends regularly and there definitely seems to be an ebb and flow - one day people will be tearing through projects and the next it will be the pits of despair and worry, or total lethargy. It doesn't help that *every* conversation seems to be virus related right now. I recommend books! Getting caught up in someone else's story for a while is a relief. Even though I'm reading the roughest of the Harry Potter books and listening to The Dovekeepers (oh good, a siege to take my mind off -- ) it's a nice distraction from my own concerns. {{long distance hugs}} We'll get through this and figure it out. Thanks for the recommendation to read. I also have a crochet project I want to start. Instead, I am watching Love Is Blind on Netflix. Day 1 of quarantine for me, and things have eroded quickly. Everyone is struggling through this in their own way, and it was silly of me to ask if anyone else is having a hard time. Of course you are! I appreciate all of the stories shared here, and your are each in my heart as we carry on in this historic time together. Not silly at all. Honestly the first few days are hard, and then it goes up and down. I'm pretty sure I got NOTHING worthwhile done the first day after our trip was cancelled. I just said f---it! and snacked and wasted the whole day on sulking. And then the next day was a bit better, and the next was a Monday so I considered that a good chance to start fresh and get back to some kind of routine. Nothing wrong with crochet and Netflix - crochet is good for keeping fingers away from face! I plan to do some audiobook and crochet as well as movie and crochet times. If anyone needs free reading materials there is a service Elise Cripe recommended called Scribd that's got a quarantine free trial period, Audible Stories has kids books in 6 languages to listen to for free - I'm going to start with Winnie the Pooh, I think ( how to guide), I saw Audible UK was offering free service to all ages but no sign of that for the US yet, and most public libraries have online library cards that you can use to access free streaming, magazines, and downloadable books (audio and ebook). I love the Libby app to access Overdrive books through 3 public libraries I have cards for. Kids books are a great escape right now - reread Harry Potter and listen along to the Binge Mode Harry Potter podcast for a great laugh. Or if you have a really dirty sense of humor My Dad Wrote a Porno podcast will have you laughing till you cry. For good clean fun, the Office Ladies podcast is good for The Office re-watchers.

The artist is Kolette Hall and the design #52224. I think the name listed is Christmas, Merry, Believe. Thank you! I love Kolette Hall - she is absolutely my favorite Silhouette artist. I found that design but the preview shows the word "christmas" as lower case. In your design, "Christmas" is upper case with a beautiful swoopy capital "C." Does the design come with both options? EDIT: I think I found it! "Believe in the Magic of Christmas" has the swoopy "C" I like in your layout. Kolette Hall Design #52785. Still love everything about your layout! Oh, I am so sorry. I own several of Kollette's designs and I just looked up the wrong one to tell you. It is actually CHRISTMAS PRESENTS HIS PRESENCE - LAYERED PHRASE design #53036. She has another that has a pretty "Christmas". It's #70128. Hope that helps!

KikiPea, your page, the Good Stuff, is beautiful. Did you watercolor that background? I love the white area around the photo filled with dots and blobs of ink. You do that so well. Your clusters are amazing. I particularly love the one with the camera. Cute photos. Lovely page. scrapbookwriter, did you figure out how to post your pages? I’d love to help but I’m pretty computer challenged. I hope with the help of other savvy peas you can post your layouts. refugeepea, how is your DS today? I remember that my daughters slept long and hard after a seizure. I hope he is acting normally today. I laughed at him throwing his shoes over the fence. I know it is not funny to you, but it sounds like he’s feeling well. I hope the seizure was a one time occurence. oaksong, hugs to you. I know that feeling of being uneasy. I hope you can feel peace and comfort soon. Scrapping has really helped keep my mind off all that is going on. That and leaving the TV off. Hang in there. I love your Alaska PL pages. That paper line couldn’t be more perfect. Glad to see you scrapping. sleepingbooty, I am amazed that with all that is going on, needing to print documents to even leave the house, that you are able to settle down and work on your Christmas album. I was telling DH about what you are required to do. I hope it doesn’t come to that here, but you never know. Hugs to you! I hope your mother is handling all this ok. I love your documentation of Christmas movies. I think I will do that next year. I have lots of Hallmark favorites that I look forward to each year. lasteve1, I hope your cake turned out better than mine. I forgot it and it cooked an extra 20 minutes. It’s as hard as a rock. I can’t seem to keep my brain in gear! angel97701, I hope you will post your pages. It sounds like you are getting a lot done. lesley, I love your page. It’s the kind of page I go back to over and over to study every detail. It’s all those beautiful touches that I forget to put on my pages. So gorgeous. I’m making a list of some of the things I love! The color is perfection! nicolep, your 4x4 album sounds wonderful. I’m sure that it will be a great look back at the year when you finish. I love the cover. @bdhardy, I decided to send out a lot of cards too after reading your post. I have boxes of cards exchanged at our Card Club and I know lots of people who would enjoy getting some happy mail. Thanks for the reminder. marie, I love the beautiful design of an ugly disease. You have done a great job of documenting the changes in the world. Thanks for sharing! I can certainly understand why you would switch to Disney scrapping. Those pages are so beautifully designed and I love your clusters and the way you did the titles. joblackford, thanks for the reading suggestions. So far I have found plenty to do, but also plenty to eat! I seem to go through the kitchen and graze! I'm going to gain 100 lbs if I'm not careful. I left love on your beautiful cards in the gallery.

Here are a couple of pages I finished last night. I think it's obvious that I like paper piecing more than designing pages. The paper piecing really keeps my mind from straying to all the strange things going on in the world. I have a couple more in the works and hope to get them finished this evening or tomorrow.

Your clusters are amazing. I particularly love the one with the camera. Cute photos. Lovely page. Thank you! The background is a Vicki Boutin (surprise, surprise. 😉) paper from her older collection called Field Notes. I did use white gesso under the cluster of photos from top to bottom, and added the art crayons black droplets.

Wow, nylene, the piecing on that burger is amazingly detailed! I don't have the patience. This layout itself was bitsy for me, finding elements to put on each circle. It wasn't hard. It didn't take long, but it felt trying. Lots of old stuff got used! layout one dollar smile by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Yes, she stands out wherever she goes! LOL It makes her easy to find. The other day she hinted that she might go back to blond. I doubt she will give it up yet, however. She's a nut. How's your son? I thought I could comment on your mini album in the gallery, but I was wrong. It is going to be so cute. I love the Just Another Day in Paradise with the floor mopping, in a dress and heels. So funny. That's such a cute collection. I hope you are going to add to it.

He's been pretty good. He slept a long time again last night which is normal sleeping hours for most kids! He has less of an appetite right now. He's always been underweight, so I need to watch that.

It's nice to know that he's back to normal. I think the sleeping is a normal reaction. I edited my post above to comment on your cute album. I remember books and magazines when I was growing up with that type of pictures. It seemed normal then, but makes me laugh now. Great job.

I bought a few of these lines a while back and I knew I needed to find a way to use them! I was inspired by Anne Taintor products annetaintor.com/I have some other images and quotes saved, but I started with the easiest premade 3x4 cards first.

Hi All! so glad everyone is crafting and having some distracting fun. I have done a few pages so far. I finally scrapped DS’s high school graduation and his leaving for college photos. I tried to concentrate on using scraps for the most part on one page and I’m really happy with how it turned out. I also made a page with just using Washi tape strips for the background. Trying to use up those supplies.
I spent a little time this morning sorting through and organizing my desk some. It always helps me to use different supplies after I do that. I guess because I unearth things I haven’t seen in awhile. What motivates and helps you to use some of your older stash?

Comments on creations shared on Page 5: sleepingbooty I love your happy holiday movie pages in your DD. So colourful and full of depth, yet so clean and simple. I can never get that balance quite right, no matter what format I use... lesley , that photo is really sweet, and your kraft/white page with the hit of teal is GORGEOUS!!! Love the scallops and the birdie, and... well, everything about it! nicolep , you look like you are well on the way to a fun DD project! How did it go? marie , your documentation of the new reality we find ourselves in is really well done. All of the slogans and images give a pretty accurate accounting, and yet the page looks vibrant and strong. Great idea to intersperse this traumatic time with happy memories from the past. Your Disney Christmas page is beautiful. Love that cluster of deep red flowers, but the whole page made me smile. And your Halloween page is super FUN! LOVE that giant sign (or is it a float?) as title, and the other pic's tucked into that collaged border strip across the lower part of the page. Perfect colours. Wow! oaksong , I can see both your pages in the original post, but can only enlarge the fist one by hovering over it with the mouse. The second one that appears again in the attachment area can be viewed larger there. Great photos. Love all the blues. And that paper line is perfect for adding a little extra, yet sticking perfectly to your theme. You can join Flickr for free. If you are a member there, I can help you post photos from there. If you take photos on your phone and have a Tapatalk app, I can help you post directly from your phone. There are others on the board who can help you with posting from other sites without using the attachment feature. Linda posts from fb, I think, and joblackford posts from IG. Thanks for sharing your pages, and if you need help sharing others, just holler! ETA I see you have mastered FLICKR! YAY!

Thanks, grammadee, I finally figured it out with Flickr I’ve done it before but it’s been a long time. The BB code works a lot better now than it used to. It was easy, and the results are so much better than low-quality attachments. It just took a little perseverance the first time.

On to the creations shared on page 6: refugeepea , what a fun project your mini album is! What a wonderful way to help raise your spirits. Love all the different images you chose, and their cute/punny/funny/true captions and phrases! teacherlisa , I love your celebration of the colour blue! Cool idea to snap a photo of all the blue scrappy supplies! Good to see you scrapping again. cannmom, that is a fun photo! And I love the washi background. I really need to do something like this, or I will NEVER finish a roll of the stuff! oaksong , nylene , kitbop , I will leave some love on Flickr before I post my own scrappy endeavours of the day here.

Our youngest DD is married to a Pixar animator. When we travel to CA he always sets up a day for us to visit the Pixar Studios. It is not an open site so you must be accompanied by an employee. It is always the highlight of our visit. Whenever we watch a Pixar movie in the theater we have to stay to the very end to watch the credits roll to see Jon's name. At the end of Coco they paid tribute with photos of all the relatives of animators who passed away that year. Jon's older sister had just passed and her photo rolled through. It was a neat experience. Jon didn't tell his family, just told them to stay to the end...and there she was. Very special. So this is my page remembering Coco. Coco

I finally found my mojo and got 2 pages completely done and a mostly done 3rd. Stupid Xyron ate the letters to my title so I'll have to recut those tomorrow. Ended up printing photos from yesterday and the past two weeks to get myself going. Will try and figure out the tap talk thing tomorrow to post photos.

I continued on with my Wolf Pack cards - I think I have about 28 done now, some repeats and variations of ones I did yesterday, and I have a few more mostly done which just need to wait until I get another paper (I’m going to fussy cut some bears for them). I tidied up and I’m going to work on something different tomorrow. http://instagram.com/p/B-BG8m-A3Nh

So glad to see and hear that people are crafting and taking time to play. So good for the soul... Congrats on finding your MOJO, natscraps. Too bad about your hungry xyron! I hope you figure out how to share your creations. Would love to see them. joblackford these cards are as beautiful as the last few batches and I loved those! I am torn between wishing I had picked up some of those papers, and thinking I could never create anything as beautiful as your cards myself. Had a busy crafty day. Spent the morning colouring with my new watercolour pencil crayons from the March SSS card kit, and putting together a card with the panel I finished. Then I worked with Silhouette to cut a 4 layer title for a page I want to build. Got about halfway through that, then left it for the afternoon while I joined some Peas on a Hangout session. Worked on my 6x8 book during the video chat. Sorry, sleepingbooty, but it would take awhile for me to decide I prefer this over my 12x12's. I miss all the extra real estate LOL. Or maybe my discomfort is that this has more focus on ME, and I really prefer to be the observer, photo taker and story teller. My card and pages are in the Gallery. This evening, I finished cutting the title layers, so hope to get at least a couple of pages done with it tomorrow. (Yay! back to 12x12's with a focus on kids and grandkids!)

I didn't get a lot of scrapping done today. Instead I ended up playing cards with the kids for most of it. A little while ago I started back working on a couple of Halloween pages that I began last night, but now it's after midnight here so I guess I'll finish tomorrow.
Great looking through this thread and seeing all these fantastic projects!

Page 4 love: grammadee Eep, no distancing at the pharmacy? What? That's absurd. I hope all the preparations/groceries for social distancing are going well and that you've found everything you needed. gramma 'Something Nevada Swap' Love your little exchange goodies! The star pattern is so retro and cool. I bet (ha!) your fellow crop group members will love what you've prepared for them. @kendramage This is all part of the transition phase. You need to come to terms with the new normal, the hard realities of the world, the "survivor's guilt" of having the luxury of staying at home while someone close to you is on the frontline. What has worked best for me is planning out the day a bit: make sure you have 30min of doing this, 1h of doing that, and definitely write in some time to be creative. It helps not to overthink the process and just dive into it. Once your days become a bit structured, things will start being easier and you'll feel less paralysed. It takes a while, mind you. A psychologist mentioned this transition can take up to 10 days. Don't beat yourself up over it. *safe distance hugs* kitbop *virtual hugs* This crisis is definitely making a lot of people experience some anxiety. I hope you can find a way to give yourself the mental space to focus on something. It's hard at first, I agree. 'Jake O'Lantern' That is a super cute title! I love all the geometric play here: chevron, rectangular photos in a horizontal strip, the round pumpkin embellishments. So much fun to look at! Great idea to add in touches of softer purple to break through the bolder autumn colours: it makes the project look fresh and different. nylene 'Christmas Cars' Oh, this one's so fun, nylene! I love the PL vibes and all the journaling + photos you managed to work in here without making the LO feel crowded. Such great pattern paper selection, too! (Echo Park?) Picking green was such a genius design decision to mirror the leafy/mossy trees before they were turned into cars. I adore how the scalloped edges mimick the car wheels, by the way. Such a subtle way to underline the main story element. I'm super impressed by all the amazing wood work. Kudos to Steve! thwarth Oops about that missing photo! I hope you've found it since and were able to finish your LO. Good luck with the homeschooling, by the way. refugeepea So sorry about your son's seizure. It sounds super scary, especially if it's a new development. *virtual hugs* Your situation is a good reminder that I have it easy for my quarantine and shouldn't complain. I hope you can figure out how to proceed next for your son's health and that you managed to get him waitlisted. Best wishes to your husband. I admire those who are doing an essential job and are on the frontline. Thank him for me! KikiPea 'Melt Ice-Creams' Oh, this is such a fun take on the ice-cream theme: I love that you decided to add that bright yellow and black to create graphic elements reminiscent of car racing (I saw that 'pit stop' sentiment ). Really entertaining and different, a great way to bounce off the ice-cream shop's logo!
