- you can tell DSIL that it's spelt wrong so you cannot put that shirt in anything official Pretty funny tho! I could not believe I missed a typo on that shirt! Until I thought about it. And thought about who it was saying there was a typo lol. I do agree - no way it goes on the calendar and that's a good reason lol. justjac I love your WITL! I love how simple and easy you kept it - so doable! - and it's so pretty. And your cards are so cute! grammadee, that's terrible! I'm glad the explosion stayed inside the oven! I hope you like the new one in person. And you are sooo busy without that unnecessary inconvenience. Linda, how's DH? Is he feeling better about flying? kitbop how's the foot? You all sure have a lot going on! And not in good ways!

So does bad luck come in threes? If that’s the case I should prob just curl up and hide so it doesn’t find me. While at dgs’s baseball game last night, got a call from my brother, who told me our sister in law—widow of one of our deceased brothers— was in the hospital and it didn’t look good. She was 84 years old and developed sepsis after a kidney infection. She had been in hospital since mid week last week, and had seemed to be improving until yesterday morning when it all went south.
Dd arrived and I handed off the boy and the bedding plants and drove 3+ hours to be with her and her family. She passed away over night. I got to say goodbye, but she was already out of it by the time I arrived.

Linda and joyfulnana , I don't know how you can stand to be under a tornado watch. I would be a basket case. I hate wind and have had too many scary experiences with wind. Linda , glad your DS arrived home safely. I'm sure he has enjoyed some of his interesting postings. I am enjoying your pages and hoping I can get to the point that I can scrap soon. A few cards wear me out and I'm ready for a break! justjac , I love the photos of you in the WITL. Great idea to use rainbow colors, but they all hang together so cohesively. Love that interactive card for your mother. You really did have a prolific scrap day with grammadee . kellyr21 , I have not been over to scrapbook dot com yet to see your pages and cards, but you have love here in the gallery. I love seeing what you are making. kitbop , any trace of your kitties yet? You and they are in my prayers. I'm hoping that someone kind who finds them will search and see your flyers. Are you feeling more settled in your new home? Your scrap room looks wonderful. grammadee , when you have appliances die, they blow up as well as die! I'm sorry you are having to shop for a new one, but glad you were in the house and checking on it. I love your shirt, even though for you it is misspelled. You can tell that he loves you! I am so sorry for the loss of your sister-in-law. I am sending hugs to you and your family. joyfulnana , your day out with the kids sounds wonderful. So nice that you can get together and play games and enjoy each other. Seems like the days are flying by. I am trying to do 2 sets of exercises each day and PT twice a week. Today we went to Alex's school where he was chosen to participate in the 5th grade talent show. They got a new little puppy 2 weeks ago and Alex has taught her to sit, lie down, shake and dance. He demonstrated in front of the class and then the little thing wet on the rug! Even with the accident he was chosen to go on to the larger talent pool and showed his tricks today. Today there were no accidents and he was chosen to represent 5th grade in the whole school talent show. I know it makes Em nervous to expect an 11 week old puppy to avoid accidents when she gets surrounded by children who want to play with her. She's a tiny little Golden Doodle.

grammadee - I'm so sorry about your sister-in-law. May she rest in peace. joyfulnana - DH saw the doctor yesterday and was prescribed something to take before flying. He has a work trip scheduled in August so hopefully that'll be a good test of that before our big trip in October. nylene - sounds like you're being very diligent with the PT and exercises. I bet Alex is thrilled with the new puppy and the talent show.

What a sweet story about Alex and his puppy in the talent show, nylene! I hope there will be at least one photo they can share with you so you can scrap it! Hopefully the new med will help your dh deal with his flight anxiety, Linda. I know how much you are looking forward for your trip to the UK. On the stove situation, I have to wait until the home & hardware store owner returns tomorrow to order a new one, and then its arrival will depend on when he can get it in from the warehouse and deliver it out here. I had thought my kitchen could at least LOOK like a kitchen in the meantime, but while I was gone, dh tore the old stove apart to discover what went wrong and see what he could salvage from it. But he did agree to get the barbecue and electric grills on the deck functional (have been "mothballed" since fall) so we can cook out there until the new range arrives. I did a bit of cleaning out there on Tuesday, and today will finish getting the patio table and chairs functional. This evening, I need to pick up my potted flowers from the greenhouse and pick up dgs after ball practice to come out here to stay with us. No school tomorrow. Dd was planning to come out tomorrow afternoon to plant garden, but not sure yet whether the weather will cooperate. Oh and tomorrow the internet guy is supposed to come and solve all our problems... No word yet on when the funeral will be, but I am leaving her "kids" (oldest is 62 years old) to figure all that out. If I don't hear by the weekend, I will call them.

grammadee I'm so sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. Sending hugs. The community where I work is grieving this week, too. There will be three funerals in the coming week, starting with one today for a woman who worked at the middle school. There are so many family connections in a small community. Our receptionist's father's funeral will be Monday, and the vice-principal at the high school's mother's funeral is tomorrow. nylene Alex's puppy sounds adorable. Linda I have my fingers crossed for your husband. I hope his work trip goes well in August. We have a long weekend in Canada this weekend, and I am heading to my sister's to visit with her and my mom. DH has to stay home due to work. My sister has a sunroom on the back of her house, so I hope to spend some relaxing time visiting and knitting, when we're not doing a bit of yard work.

Thanks grammadee and justjac - I'm hoping the med works for him and I'm very grateful that he's agreed to try it. Sorry about the kitchen mess grammadee - good luck with the grilling out. I hope the new stove is sooner vs later. justjac - sorry about all the losses in your community.

grammadee, that sounds exactly like what my DH would do. I kept telling him not to pull the microwave out until we had the new one to install. Turns out it wasn't the microwave at all and it was an electrical switch that just needed to be turned back on. Apparently when he was cooking he turned that switch off, not knowing it was to the microwave. LOL You have a busy weekend coming up. I hope the planting goes well. I'm sure your DGS will be a helper. I hope the weather cooperates and that funeral/memorial plans go well for your DSIL. Linda, so glad that your DH has some meds to try and can do a dry run in August for his work trip. I have great empathy for anyone who has fears like that. It's something you can't just talk yourself out of. justjac, safe travels to see your mom. Her sunroom sounds delightful! What are you knitting now?

Good morning, Pokeys! How is your Friday shaping up?
Dgs has taken over my computer to type something, so I am relegated to the dining room with my iPad. Typing seems to calm him, so I will trade that for the sanctity of MY space…
Internet guy is scheduled to arrive sometime today.
I need to order my new range once the local hardware store opens.
Dgs and I need to make some birthday cards.
Gardening may not be on the agenda. It rained again last night. Dh will check when he gets home from his foot/leg care appointment.
Have a Fantastic Friday, Pokeys!

nylene I'm glad to hear that you are getting a bit better every day! And I am impressed that your DGS was able to train such a young pup! Linda It will be great if the meds help you DH. It would be awful if you are not able to take you planned trip/ justjac That sunroom sounds sooo nice. Enjoy your time. kitbop I didn't realize that you had broken a bone in your foot. That's no fun. Any sign of the kitties? Are you settling in the new place? Moving is just so - - - - interesting. joyfulnana I hope to be on the crop this evening. grammadee How are your DH's legs? Are they getting the edema under control? Did anyone watch Young Sheldon last night? I don't usually watch it but for some reason I started it last night. BIG MISTAKE It was the episode where the father dies. Like a dumb #)*& I sat there and watched. Wreck me - my daughter came in and I crying like a baby - "Mom - what are you doing? Turn that off!" Oh - right, I have a remote. Sometimes I am not the smartest person I know!

Just popping in to say I’ll be here tonight 7:30 EST if anyone is able to join me! dd just came to pick up dgs. The internet guy should be gone by end of day. No idea if what he is doing will be an improvement, but if not we can alert them to try something else. (What he is doing is not what we requested b/c he is "not trained to climb that high" on the TV tower, so we may need to switch providers) Anyway, I should be able to join you ladies for awhile this evening. I won't be crafting, but would love to chat.

grammadee - I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL's passing. It was kind of you to drive down to see her even if she wasn't alert - I really believe that ill people are aware of visitors even when they are unable to respond, and I'm sure you gave her comfort. Your stove story is really scary however! I'm so glad you caught it before worse happened. Linda - sorry about your headache and I hope it let's up! Fingers crossed for your DH - a trip to England would be more complete with him along. joyfulnana - I may be a bit late. It's DS2's birthday, and the chili (his request, thank god it's raining and not hot/sunny!) is cooking but we won't eat until 6:30 and then we have cake/games/presents. But I'll be along for sure! I am looking forward to unwinding! gramma - I enjoy Young Sheldon but only watched the first season sporadically, then we got rid of cable. I've been watching clips that appear on my Facebook feed and want to watch it fully (it can be a gym show, or a while-I-scrapbook show). I know the writers were sad they had to kill George, and wished they hadn't written it that way in "big bang theory" but had to stay true to story. I've seen that scene - nylene - oh my, that puppy will win on cuteness alone! Good for Alex teaching her tricks already - I bet his mom wishes he'd focus on housetraining justjac - that is a lot of loss to process for a small community. But how nice that you are all that connected that you can support each other! We are gradually unpacking now - the basement is *full* of boxes that need sorting but I definitely need more shelves to finish that project and store things where they can be found. On the living floors, i think I only have about 10 boxes left, and several of those can't be unpacked until our bedroom furniture arrives - we upgraded ourselves to King size, and couldn't resist the dresser that went with the bed, so Katie has inherited our queen and dresser (and she is thrilled!). No cats But this loss has introduced us to a *wonderful* neighbourhood - so many people have told us that they are out walking and looking every day, and the kids on the street have come by to alert us to cat sightings a few times. There is a facebook group just for this part of town and *boy* are people trying to help! We're not giving up. But coyotes. And hawks. and cars.

No wonder Dusty was trying to hog the camera, 2homeschoolmum--you were scrapbooking about KITTIES! Awesome pages. My fav is still the grid with the layered squares. Hope your dog is okay, gramma. Good news: the sickly orange cat is home! He was picked up about 1 block from home #stupididiotcat The humane society called and said "we think we have your cat, he looks pretty rough". ----------------> you mean, he looks like Hobbes? gramma - glad to hear it kitbop - thank goodness! here's hoping his buddy comes home soon too. Thanks - I've tried googling to no avail. I suspect it might be CTMH or something like that but I can't confirm it. Broke the shredding blade to my Oster Kitchen Centre (c. 1980) tonight making carrot-raisin salad. DH has already ordered me a replacement from Ebay. I picked up storm debris at this house today and DH and DD17 went over and picked it up at the old house. The county starts picking it up from the rightaways on Monday. So we have a big pile at the side of the road at both houses. Tonight I'm working on labelling my parents' wedding photos - both the scans and the physical copies - and organising them into photo cases. My new 5x7 case arrived today - I filled up two of them already with 1970-current - and I'm hoping this one will handle all of the bigger than 4x6 but no bigger than 5x7 photos from pre-1970. We'll see. I am blessed to have so many photos from their wedding - both professional and snapshots - especially since it was a small wedding at a registry office in London with a small reception afterwards. DH has to work tomorrow so I'll either continue working on the photos or scrapbook or both. I pulled photos, papers, and a sketch for a layout with my scrapbook space reorganisation photos at the end of the Friday crop but haven't actually done anything else with them

Good Sunday morning, Pokeys. nylene I am so sorry I missed that it was your special day last week. How did you celebrate it? Happy belated birthday! Still wet and dreary here. Yesterday I made another greenhouse run. Like every other small business, each site specializes in certain types/varieties of plants, and I like to check into at least three or four each year. When I left, the skies were clearing a bit, and I was hoping we could get out on the garden this morning. Dh said the surface of the garden had started to look drier while I was gone, and he was sure I would drive into the yard yelling at him to get out there and make the lines for the rows. But it was raining again by the time I got home. Stopped for the evening and much of the night, but coming down again this morning. Trying not to whine... We have definitely needed the moisture after so little snow this past winter.

I hope he's no worse for wear and that the other comes homes soon. Happy Belated Birthday nylene! It was so good to see so many pokey's Friday! grammadee you missed justjac by seconds. I finished binge watching Bridgerton and I wish we didn't have to wait a month for the second half lol. I spent a good amount of time yesterday sorting through photos from my childhood years, it's fun to look back on that. And I scrapped with Mom for a bit online, her idea, and it was a good one. I wouldn't have scrapped if she hadn't asked. I really need to be getting my points figured up for the quarter so far.

Happy holiday Monday to you all! We'll get to celebrate this again next Monday for the Americans. And to make our holiday feel holidayish, the weather here is unbelievable - 85 degrees later today, with humidex of 95 degrees. (Sorry for your wet existence grammadee!) I brought my thyme plant home from the other house yesterday. It has survived 5 winters now, uncovered, so I wasn't willing to leave it there. I also dug up my English primrose. It was a gift from an elderly patient 20 years ago - she brought it from England so many years ago, and was having to leave her house, and asked if she could give me a piece of her garden primrose so that she knew a piece was still with someone who knew the story I left a small piece still growing at our old place and hope the new owners will know it's a pretty plant. I don't know what to do today! We worked really hard yesterday and my back is begging for a quieter day because it's spasming on me. I could sit inside and scrap, but ^^weather. I'd love to go for a walk in the woods but I'm still in a cast boot, and the mosquitoes have emerged into the humidity and are feeding their post-winter hunger. joyfulnana - glad Bridgerton is good. I may wait until June to watch, and instead start watching the previous seasons to get the feel again. I also want to watch "young sheldon" as a binge. nylene - I'm so sorry I missed your birthday! You always make sure everyone else gets recognized and then we go and miss yours. Hope you had a WONDERFUL day and got spoiled!

Good morning, Pokeys!
Woke up to drizzle... AGAIN... Didn't put my plants out yet cuz temp was hovering around freezing. Have put some time into crafting, but can't seem to focus on any one project.
Yesterday I cut the pieces for my motorcycling gnome--actually two of them--and this morning I assembled them. One will be for a page, and one for a fathers' day card.
This morning I watched the first On Line Card Class, but have not moved to pull out my folders and ink. I need to make a bunch of Sympathy cards for my nieces and nephews, and want them to be special--like their mom was--but as always, sympathy cards are hard. Was hoping the class would inspire me to get started, but not feelin' it... Maybe I will start by simply embossing some panels for future use and take the pressure of completing something out of the equation.

Happy Belated Birthday nyleneSorry it's so wet grammadee. We've had a rainy weekend after a rainy week also but it's no where near freezing here. Yay for the motorcycling gnomes! Sorry that the sympathy cards are needed and so hard - I need to send a couple also and need to make them first. I think the embossing panels is a good plan. joyfulnana - glad you got to scrap with your mum - childhood pics are so fun to look back on and reminisce. kitbop - lovely story about the primrose - can you make a note about the location and maybe print a photo of it blooming to leave for the new owners when you sell? Take it easy today - give your back a break and take care of that foot. There will be more beautiful days to come. I didn't scrap over the weekend - other than the crop here. I've been sorting and labelling photos from 1969 and wishing my mum had labelled more of them. Housework this morning. I'm pretty wore out after two nights of not-good sleep. At least yesterday I was able to sleep in but not so much today. This is the last week of school and DD is panicking about grades. Last night she was in tears because she's pretty sure she's getting a high B in French - which she's struggled with all year as an online course (the in-person didn't fit her schedule unfortunately). I'm more than happy with a high B -she is not. Today I got an unhappy message that welding grades were in and she only had an 89 despite making up her absences. Turns out he hadn't put in the makeup work yet and once he did, she has a 97. Thankfully there shouldn't be as much drama with her other classes. (I hope).
