This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members. If you are on a Team, complete the 4 challenges and post them on this thread for an extra 4 points.

Thanks for setting up our home for the month nylene - I'm glad you're healed enough to pop in now and then. Taking DD17 to the Ortho Urgent Care in the morning. Apparently she did injure her arm when she fell a week ago Friday but she didn't want to say anything and derail the camping trip. But climbing the rock wall this weekend and then carrying lots of metal etc...in welding yesterday...has made it hurt significantly more so...she finally said something. Sigh... Sewng machine is still being uncooperative. I fixed one issue and another cropped up.

Happy May, Pokeys! Thanks for setting up the thread, nylene . Looking forward to chatting all month.
Linda , I hope your dd's arm/shoulder is not too badly strained.
Still grandparenting here... Days are pretty quiet--except for today when the accountant emailed the papers to be signed at 10:30 this morning and said if the signed copies were not back and their fee paid by noon, then nothing would be submitted to CRA until Monday May 6th--which would have led to a big penalty being assigned us. Of course our gimpy internet did not help. I needed to send the papers three times before they actually had received them all. And dh had trouble logging in to the Credit Union to make the fee payment. I know there is a challenge to scrap about Taxes, but today did not yield any Kodakrome moments... So let us just say it's a good thing April is over...

I could say more but I won't. Yes I will - what a jerk!

grammadee, this made me laugh out loud! I am so sorry for the big rush and the internet not cooperating. Of course it would act its worst when you are under a deadline! Glad you finally got it sent! gramma, I second your comment about the accountant! Linda, oh how I hope your DD's arm/shoulder is not badly damaged. I have great empathy. I hear you on the sewing machine. It drives me nuts when I need to get something done and my machine acts up. It always happens when I am in a hurry. I hope you can diagnose the problem and fix it. kellyr21, your latest video of your beautiful girls has stuck in my mind. You are so very talented. I'm sure Ron is so proud of you. I hope things go better for you this month. I hope your weather is pretty so you can get out and walk. Today ours is so pretty, a little chilly but beautiful. We have just lost a dear neighbor. He was almost 96, but such a great and active man. We tend the kitties for him and his DD when they travel. We know it was time, but it leaves a hole in the neighborhood and in our hearts. Another neighbor asked Steve if he could make a wooden Mickey head on a dowel to place in a bouquet. Garn loved Disney! I made a pattern for him, but he could not see well enough to follow the lines on the bandsaw. Luckily Em was here and cut out 2 for him. He chose a beautiful piece of walnut and he did all the finish work on them. They turned out very nice. I felt bad that I couldn't cut them out, but Em did a great job. We went for a walk to take them to the neighbor this morning. It was a good walk for me. I'm trying to go a little further each day. I am hoping to have enough stamina to sit through the funeral on Friday and then keep my appt with the surgeon. Busy day! Our dishwasher went kaput and leaked all under our wooden kitchen floor. I'm hoping it will dry ok. We called DS to ask what brand of dishwasher he would recommend and he said he was heading for SLC and would pick one up and put it in tonight. I don't know what we would do without him. There is no way DH or I could hook a new one up or pull out the old one. We make quite the handicapped pair!

grammadee - the words I'm thinking about your accountant aren't appropriate here. I'm glad they got filed and are done for another year. nylene - I'm so sorry about your neighbour. I'm glad Em was able to help Steve with the cutting and that your son will be able to take care of the dishwasher for you. What a pain though. (and no overdoing it trying to clean it all up either) We're back from the Ortho Urgent care - saw the same doctor she saw when she broke her wrist. No fracture this time but she's sprained it. She had an NP I think examine her first and she couldn't pinpoint the pain but the doctor came in and rotated her arm so her hand was palm up and rotated it to palm down and it was obvious watching DD's face, that he had pinpointed the issue. She's to wear a brace for two-three weeks for school and other activities (doesn't need to while watching TV or the like).

Hello Pokeys! How is it MAY already! That really snuck up on me. Linda I'm glad DD doesn't have any broken bones. You need some calm and quiet now! grammadee I'll echo everyone else, your accountant is a jerk and sounds like they dropped the ball on this with the tight turnaround. You've been in my thoughts this week, knowing you are grandparenting. Knowing how exhausting that can be. Sending you lots of high energy vibes lol. justjac I love that final page! And it's so fun seeing your craft room. (and feeling better about my huge stash lol) nylene! I'm so happy you were feeling well enough to start the thread! You could use some calm and quiet as well! I love that your kids step up and hlep you both so much. I dont' know about you, but man one week without my dishwasher and I was so ready to just eat off paper and use plastic utensils lol. kitbop have fun setting up your new space, I can't wait to see it! One of my nephews is getting married this weekend, so I'm going to be getting myself ready for that. There is this thing that happens when you work from home for years. You don't have decent clothes for other events LOL. I've got to put together something to wear lol. I took tomorrow and Friday off to hopefully get Some scrapping in on iNSD this year. I signed up for the SG crop (thanks Linda ;P lol) so I want to try and play along with that tomorrow and hopefully join in on the crop mom is opening. I won't be able to open a crop tomorrow night, but I should be back strong next week

Good Thursday morning, Pokeys! I will take any energy vibes you can send me, joyfulnana. Dgs has been working hard to keep himself on an even keel this week, but I am looking forward to having a bit of down time for sure. Mom is supposed to land in Edmonton about noon tomorrow. She then has a 3 hour drive ahead of her to get home and probable jet lag. Dgs told me yesterday he should just spend the weekend here to “let her rest”. I guess that means he is enjoying himself here LOL. Okay. Gotta run. Driving him to school this morning…

grammadee - I suspect his mom won't be the only one who needs some rest. I hope you get some downtime to recover and scrap I'm scrapping today - playing along with the SG crop. It's a trifle warm here 89F feels like 92F (32-33C) and my air con is struggling and it's nearly 80F inside (26C). Repairman will hopefully be here tomorrow to service it.

Hi Pokeys Up to my neck in boxes and mess. I really don't know when I'll have time to set up my scraproom. There is so much to organize and unload this weekend, and the fun room should be my lowest priority... Linda - so glad DDs arm will be OK - sounds like she tried to ignore it and the arm had other ideas! Love your layouts!! joyfulnana - have a blast this weekend grammadee - I think YOU need a BREAK! nylene - I'm so sorry about the dishwasher and flood. Glad DS is able to help out. gramma - HI!

kitbop - I hope you have plenty of help with those boxes and mess and that you're able to at least set up a small corner somewhere for crafting and de-stressing. It'll be SO nice when you're all unpacked and set up. Thank you - yes - she tried to ignore it and she might have gotten away with it if she hadn't climbed the rock wall at the picnic... Another layout to finish July 2015 - woohoo! now to decide on my next angle of approach...do I work on August 2015? do I work on some of the fairly current big kids photos or our photos? cards? a trip? so many options

Hoping over the iNSD weekend that we will find the sales &/or the inspiration we need to play with paper!

My nieces and SIL are here for the weekend for a dance competition so I will be trying to fit scrapping around hostessing and checking out their dances. Also the girls will be sleeping in the room adjacent to my scrap desk. Well it's kind of all one room since there is a doorway between but no actual door. But I need to make a Mother's Day card for my mom and get it in the mail ASAP so we'll see how that goes.

good luck squeezing creativity in justjac I'm off to a slow start today but I did do one layout so far. I don't love the photos (from 2015) but there simply aren't too many pictures of me from then so... And another layout

Happy May and Happy Friday! Waving hi and hope you all are having a nice day. I gotta catch up here. We did have a few day or half day trips last weekend. My favorite moments was visiting this mall we love and their flower show. They had all these mannequins that were all decorated with flowers. I took lots of pictures and will share. So beautiful! Thanks to all of you that watched my new art video!!! I love making videos as much as I love making the art. LOL! I have so much to share about this collection. Will post soon. You gals are the best cheerleaders and I appreciate you!!! Ok, be back this weekend.

grammadee it's sweet that DGS wants to stay the weekend, I guess he doesn't think you need rest too lol. I hope you get some soon. I get pretty crabby if I don't have any time to myself for a few days. justjac have fun with your nieces and good luck sneaking in the card making! Linda your layouts are lovely! How cool that you have a google Earth shot of you guys! I love love love the bright blues and greens of that LO with Annabelle. I love those colors and the sea shells, and the colorful paper strips in the Family LO. I'm glad your A/C has been repaired, I would have been whining so much if it was 80 degrees inside. I get whiny if it's over 75 lol. I don't tolerate heat well at all. kitbop moving sucks, and I hope the moving goes quickly and that you are back in your scrap space before you know it. I understand about how the scrap room seems like low priority, but to me, after I have the kitchen good 'enough" and the bathroom done so I can shower all I want to do is unpack my scrap stuff. Even if it's just to pet things LOL. Rudy's class did a wax museum project, each student was given someone from history to learn about or "be". Rudy was DaVinci and he looked so cool. His mom is so creative. It was a really cute project and because I had taken off work, I was able to go. I got a couple of pictures. First he told me no pictures, then said as long as I didn't post it or scrap it. Then he decided that he would let me scrap it lol. He hates pictures, but he loves scrapbook pages about himself lol. I got a little scrapping in yesterday morning, and finished the journaling on some pages. And that's probably all I will get in this weekend. I'll do the games at the SG crop, but won't get to any of the challenges or sketches until later.

kellyr21 - oh! that sounds lovely - looking forward to seeing photos! joyfulnana - thank you - I'm having fun with the SG sketches and these older (2015) photos. I'm very grateful that the AC was a quick (and not terribly expensive) fix - especially since DH is away on business next week. I also don't tolerate heat well. The wax museum project sounds like so much fun! I hope you can share the pictures/layout on the crop at least - I would love to see Rudy as DaVinci! One more layout for now and then I have to cook dinner and move laundry along... Dinner is done, laundry moved, and I'm back to scrap some more last one for tonight

Love all the little girl LO's, Linda. Glad you are having fun with the on line event. Hoping you are enjoying the wedding, joyfulnana, and the dance competition, justjac. That flower festival sounds like a feast for the eyes, kellyr21: glad you got some photos to bring it back into focus later. Dd picked up the boy and the pets about noon today. He was ready to head home, anxious not to miss any more Saturday hangout time with the kids on the block. She was thankful we kept them an extra night. I guess she slept from 4:00pm until 7:30PM, got up for a couple of hours to do laundry and get something to eat, then went back to bed about 9:30PM and didn't wake up until after 7:00 this morning. Tomorrow she and I and dgs have tickets to the youth musical theatre presentation, but I hope to get a page or two put together in the morning. I have a page plan. Just need to dig out photos and papers so it will save time in the morning.
