nylene - I love that card club page - the soft pastels are perfect and I'm so glad that you're putting YOUR activities in the scrapbook too. Enjoy Five Guys! DH and I worked on a jigsaw puzzle last night and finished it up this morning. I don't have a photo yet of ours but it's this design. DH is planning to frame it for the craft room by the sewing area. I made a Texas sheet cake and potato salad (from my granny's recipe) - DD is going to grill burgers and hot dogs this evening.

Linda, I love that puzzle. I am always drawn to sewing scenes, especially when there is an old Singer treadle machine in the photo. This will be such a beautiful, bright addition to your craft room. Your Texas sheet cake sounds delicious! I haven't made one for a while and I am hungry for one. Little by little I am taking over the cooking and cleaning again, but DH has been a BIG help. I hope I have a little more movement and ability in my arm in the near future. Right now it's not worth much and just aches, but I am faithfully doing my exercises every day.

How did you feel about your eulogy? My nephew (dSIL's oldest son) wrote the eulogy. He had reached a writer's block when he started thinking about delivering the speech to the gathering at the church, and was struggling. After they called & asked, and I agreed to read the eulogy, he was able to complete the writing, and did a wonderful job. I was handed the document on Thursday evening, and read it aloud several times that night and then again in the morning in my hotel room. If I continued to struggle with the word flow or timing, I changed the document to fit how it was easiest for me to read. And I added a couple of sentences to fill in one spot. But otherwise it remained exactly as written. I received lots of complements from people who attended the Mass, and I explained who had actually written it. The family was really appreciative of the job I did reading it.
I have written and delivered several eulogies, and when reading them to the gathering, I always focus on how this is about the LIFE of the person we are saying goodbye to. It is the one point in the funeral when people can remember the PERSON, listen to stories about them, and maybe smile a little at the memories those stories invoke.

That paints a lovely picture grammadee of your sil's eulogy! I'm so glad it went well and that you celebrated your sil in a way she would smile at. nylene - keep at your arm. I just wish you weren't still aching so much. As therapists, my OT friend and I often preach to our patients about doing normal household chores instead of exercises, because exercises only train your body to do those specific movements, not the compound movements needed to really live. So things like cooking, chopping, opening cupboards are such good exercise (as long as you don't push beyond your current limits mind you). Linda - I have a new puzzleboard that I can't wait to try out. Your puzzle is lovely!

Thank you nylene and kitbop - I don't usually keep my puzzles once we've assembled them but this one is a keeper. grammadee - it was a blessing for you to give the eulogy for your nephew. I know my sister and I were so grateful that our husbands gave the eulogy at my mum's funeral. And I agree - a good eulogy celebrates the person and their life. nylene - I'm sorry that your arm is still aching so much. I hope as it gets stronger it'll feel better as well.

Good Tuesday morning, Pokeys! That cat puzzle is really fun, Linda. I thought at first glance that this was a pic of one of YOUR helpful kitties! Hope it doesn't give any of them ideas when it is hung in your craft room. So glad to see you are making pages again, nylene. I plan to take a closer look on Flickr. Really hoping the discomfort in your shoulder will ease off as it becomes more used to moving through its "normal" range. I found the most useful take-away from PT were the stretches that helped loosen the joints and muscles before &/or after the usual day-to-day activities. I have a go-to set for my knees, and another for my shoulders. Typed this in a different thread, then decided to just copy & paste it here: My new stove arrives today!!! I am excited to... boil eggs LOL. I have an air fryer, an electric skillet, a portable oven, a toaster oven. Dh has a barbecue and a couple of electric grills. But I miss being able to just grab a small pot or pan and just start cooking... Meanwhile, while I wait, I am putting together a few cards I need for June.

Good morning Pokeys! Yay for a new stove grammadee - I missed the stovetop much more than the oven when we were stove-less My kitties don't need any ideas - they have plenty of their own, lol Took DD to the dentist this morning for a filling. And unsuccessfully chased a lizard around the kitchen - I'm hoping when he comes back into view that I find him before the cats do. Planning to play Mastermind with DD after lunch and then will hop on the crop this afternoon

LOL! AussieMeg- I didn't know it got so cold in your part of the country. Stay warm! Have you heard of a clothing store/brand called "Camilla"? When, I was visiting the mall I saw the store for the first time and it was so beautiful with boho chic vibe. When I went to the website, I saw it is an Australian brand and lots of stores all over your country. Beautiful designs but I will need to make a lot of money to afford those prices. LOL! Dreaming...

I hadn't heard of that label, so I just had a look at their online store. Yikes!! Even with the 10% first purchase discount they were offering, it's still about 80% too expensive for me haha! Although the colours were right up your and my alley!

Linda, your layouts are so pretty.I love the one of you with the doughnut. I really like layouts that are split design from corner to corner, but never remember to try that. That a nice use of the printed floral on Scott's page and the layering on the opposite side. Pretty colors. I remember those bright circles on Me, Myself and I. Was that a Provo Craft print. It brings back memories of shopping when we had a PC scrapbook store. Cute kitty page and I love that your family celebrates every holiday. The greens and St Patrick touches are really fun! Thanks for sharing your pages here!

Off to the garden again this morning to finish setting in some plants. My back sent me to the house a little earlier than I had planned yesterday evening. After that, and watering everything we did set in, I need to head into town to run errands and mail a couple of cards. Left love in the Gallery for your sweet pages, nylene. Hoping to get back to comment in the Sharing Thread for yours, Linda.

Sorry about your back grammadee - good luck with the garden and errands today We've scheduled a weekly family game night during the summer -last night DD17 picked Clue which we haven't played in ages. Today she and I will be making brownies for her to take tomorrow to her friend's house - they're having a get-together. Cropping again this afternoon, I think. I need to cut some lizards out on my Cricut first since I couldn't find any in my stash yesterday.

Linda, that's a pretty neat setup your husband is building. The building blocks are a nice touch. I love your Beekeeper Gnome and little bees. Great photo. I really laughed at the journaling about Dorian and Dusty. How did you get those perfect photos of their interaction? I am grateful that the damaged trees did not impact your home. That must have been some wind!! I love the pretty photo of your March flowers. What kind are those? What a fun place to eat with friends. I love the decor. Your use of the fruit and veggie label papers was a great pick. We have only been to one Cracker Barrel while visiting in Georgia and I don't remember the decor standing out to me. We have one locally, but we haven't eaten there. Maybe we should. Thanks for sharing your layouts here. Lizards?.... AussieMeg, I caught some of your pages in the gallery. You do such beautiful pages! grammadee, I hope your back will settle down and allow you to finish what you couldn't do yesterday. It seems that Mother Nature doesn't wait for anyone. Things need to be done regardless of how we are feeling. Take care of yourself. You have lots of travel ahead! I am scheduled to see a new surgeon on Monday. It's a recheck on my shoulder, but a new doctor since mine passed away suddenly. My Physical Therapist is requesting that they do an MRI because he has fears that the rotator cuff has come undone. I have been so faithful with PT and have made just miniscule progress. He thinks I should be way ahead of where I am. I can only lift my arm at about 20 degrees from my side and that's what it was 2 months ago. It is making me discouraged. I dread going through all this again. I am beginning to do a bit of scrapping each day. It seems to cheer me up!

Thanks nylene - I got lucky with the photos of Dorian and Dusty. I'll be praying that the MRI and the followup visit go smoothly and that you like the new doctor. (((Hugs))) I'm sorry progress has been so slow.

Happy Thursday! Hope you are all doing well today. I had a good birthday and thanks to all of you for your birthday well wishes. I decided to stay home and order my favorite pizza. Maybe this weekend, we will dine out. Of course, I had cake! Ron got me a carrot cake and a slice of red velvet cake. Yes, AussieMeg, even though we stayed home, I did get all dolled up and took some pictures. So a scrapbook page or two are on the way. Left some love in the gallery. linda, great job on all the pages you are getting done. nylene, that sweet baby girl looks so adorable. What a beautiful page. nylene- Oh, thank you so much for the beautiful card!!!! I am looking at it now as it sits on my bookshelf. You make the best pop cards. Thanks for all your support and friendship over the years. I am praying for you still and hope you see real progress soon. Sending you a gentle hug! AussieMeg- LOL! Yeah, those prices at Camille are up there. So we can just dream. Maybe one day I will hit the lottery and buy a dress. LOL! But, I guess I have to play the lottery to win. Well, there goes that option. There are so many dresses on the site I like. But this yellow stands out. Link Heregrammadee- Take it easy with your back but I am glad to hear the garden is starting.

There are so many dresses on the site I like. But this yellow stands out. Link HereI clicked on the links, and then I had to click through several security warnings. When I finally got to the button where I could opt to visit the website despite the warnings, I got this: "THIS WEBSITE HAS BEEN BLOCKED We blocked this website because it may contain malicious content and could be harmful to your devices. You haven't done anything wrong. We automatically block potentially dangerous websites. We recommend you leave this website. kellyr21 , that is a stunning dress and yes I can see you looking gorgeous in it, but the price surprised me even tho you warned us! nylene - oh no, oh please let your shoulder be OK! I do hope the new doc listens and helps. I'm so sad you lost your own trusted surgeon. grammadee - my back won't handle more that the smallest bit of gardening without acting up! I don't know how you manage all the planting. I hope it feels better today. I've really enjoyed an hour of scrapping after work this week with the online crop. It helps me recover and change my mindset from work better than mindlessly browsing the internet, or going to the gym (which admittedly I need to get back to, but since I resent going to the gym it doesn't make me feel like I've recovered from work, I still need down-time AFTER the gym and by that point it's bed time!)

kellyr21 - beautiful (but oh so expensive) dress - I think that yellow would look fabulous on you! glad you had a good birthday and took photos! AussieMeg - goodness - I would backed away from there also. kitbop - I've enjoyed seeing you at the afternoon crops! I hear you on needing to get back to the gym - me too - and we have one in the garage so it's really not a hassle to do it but still inertia... Today's scrapping didn't go so smoothly. I had quite the hunt for a clip art lizard I could cut with SCAL/Cricut (he did turn out cute though) and then I didn't get the sandwich quite right for my QK alpha and ended up having to finish the cuts with scissors. I don't love the games page but...it's done. And then I didn't have an E for my tree layout and had to sub in a 3 I think just the monthly recap of Cats page and the Easter pages and I should be done with March 2024 - hopefully tomorrow's crop will do it.

Hello Pokey's! Happy Belated Birthday kellyr21!!! I can't wait to see the pages from your evening! That dress is so pretty and it would be just beautiful on you! Whoa that's a high $$$ dress lol. Linda I'm really enjoying your pages. I love the ways you use patterned paper, and that so many of these pages are about YOU! Those lizards did turn out really cute! grammadee I hope your back has settled down and you are feeling better. gramma how are you doing? nylene Gracee is adorable and so is your page. It's so pretty! I hope you get some good news from the MRI, don't have to go through another surgery. Whew it's been a week! My mom is in the hospital with pneumonia and possibly another infection but they haven't said for sure. She seems to be doing ok, and she was feeling a lot better today. She was admitted on Monday. The kids are good though! lol. DS2 is clean a year, and completely off probation and doing really well. He's been promoted at work and been given 4 raises in 9 months lol. I'm very proud of him! As far as my job, that's where the other craziness comes in. I believe my co-worker is going to be fired on Monday. He's suspended right now. He's been acting out quite a bit because he's unhappy with his wage, so he's been doing the bare minimum, creating more work for everyone, and just being an arse. And it's going to bite him lol. So Monday will be interesting. I am so ready to scrap tomorrow!
