Happy Monday! Waving hi to you all! I started out feeling sluggish but this afternoon got more pep in my step. We had a nice weekend and the weather has been pleasant. Working on new art collection. It is all about flowers! I love flowers and that flower show at the mall inspired me. nylene- OMG, I was looking out for your birthday and knew it was coming up and still missed it. LOL! SO, I am sending you a BIG 'OLE hug and wishing you a wonderful birthday year. Praying you have a much better year. Here are some flowers for you. Flowers by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr joyfulnana- SO glad you enjoyed your tv program. I haven't been watching anything new and actually been enjoying some vintage shows like Ossie & Harriet. LOL! Of course, watching lots of NBA but I am tired of the ups and downs. LOL! They still have two more series to go and I think I will be watching anything else. LOL! Well, maybe I will check out a little while Ron watches. grammadee- The weather is still cold there. I hope the warmer temps come soon. linda- Your dd is doing terrific in school. I know you are so proud of her. kitbop- SO happy to hear one of your kittens made it back home. What kind and helpful neighbors to help out, too.

kitbop YAY for the orange kitty. He's a tough one isn't he. I'll bet he was so glad to see you. Linda Good for your DD. She is excelling at Non-traditional "girl" classes as far as I can tell. grammadee The weather has been nice and mild here. So my daughter and I are doing what she calls "porch sittin' and rockin'" in the evenings. I'm taking advantage of that before the temps here get into the 100's I'm getting my latest batch of cards ready to send to Cards for Soldiers. 150 this time. 8:30 AM Sunday I was at my grand-daughter's college graduation. She is the youngest of the grands and calls herself the last. Yesterday she told me that being the last was OK because she was the first to graduate college. One more graduates next year and two that have taken "breaks" are back in on-line classes to finish up. Nothing like the baby finishing first the motivate the others.

Thank you kellyr21 - I am very proud of her but wish she wasn't so hard on herself. gramma - yes, she's a rather non-traditional sort in general and I'm very proud of how she's not afraid to be herself. congratulations to your granddaughter!

Congratulations to your dgd, gramma ! And to your dd, Linda . I hope with the end of the school year she can take the pressure off herself for awhile. Bet your art collection is gorgeous, kellyr21 . Nothing much to report here. Waiting one more day for planting. Going to head to town in a bit to check the mail. Hoping the album and page protectors will be in, so I can finish putting the copied pages into my dgd's album.
Meanwhile I have this photo she shared this week from her formal photo session. I want to scrap this for the cover page

Thank you all for the Birthday Wishes. My birthday comes so close to Mother's Day each year that we celebrate the two together on Sunday. By Wed. I had forgotten it was my birthday! LOL. Thanks, kellyr21 , for the pretty flowers. Our kids gave us flowers for the front porch and I am loving them. Also my Iris are in bloom and look so pretty. They don't last long, but I love them while they bloom. kitbop , I am so glad you have one kitty back home. I'm hoping that the other will wander in or you will get a call from some kind neighbor. How is the foot feeling? I'm sorry you have a sore back too. Sounds like a day of rest would do you good. Linda , congrats on your DD doing well on her classes. I know a B+ is hard when you are working for all A's, but it sounds like she is bright and has her head on straight and will adjust. She graduates next year, doesn't she? gramma , congrats on your DGD's graduation. I can't believe she is your youngest grandchild. We still have 2 in elementary school. I am in awe of 150 cards you have made to donate. You do such beautiful work that the recipients will love them. joyfulnana , I'm glad you could scrap with your mother. I have really missed my mom since Mother's Day. She has been gone 16 years, but I always miss her most around her b-day and Mother's day. How is your weather now? Have the crazy extreme weather patterns changed? Are you getting swamped at work. I know this is a busy time for you. grammadee , I just love your motorcycle gnome. Can't wait to see them on a page and card. I am sorry the weather is not cooperating for the necessary planting. I think we have decided not to make a garden this year. I will miss the tomatoes, but have neighbors who will keep us supplied. When will your DGS be through with school for the year? Will he spend a lot more time at the farm once he finishes? I'm glad you are finding little bits of time to scrap. ETA: That photo of your DGD is gorgeous. What a beautiful girl! That will make a lovely cover. justjac , hope your trip and visit is all you hoped for. AussieMeg , what is the weather like in Australia right now? We are just starting to warm up, so you must be heading into Fall/Winter. How cold does it get in your neck of the woods? Alex was chosen for the whole school talent show and then they called to say it's a district rule that dogs cannot be in school. So they video taped his little talent but it really loses something if not live. I think it made him much less nervous though. I am hurting a lot after PT yesterday. The therapist is really stretching me and thinks I am doing well, but I couldn't sleep last night because I couldn't stand for anything (pillow, blanket, etc) to touch that shoulder. I'm hoping when I do my exercises this afternoon, it will limber up a bit. I am making Girl Scout Graduation cards for Angie's district GS again this year. I have everything cut and just waiting for Steve to roll the backgrounds through the Big Shot. I won't try that myself!! Have a good week, everyone!

She graduates next year, doesn't she? Yes - next year is graduation. She's just very frustrated because that is her first B and it's in a virtual class - she hadn't wanted virtual but her scheduled dictated it and learning French virtually is hard. She really loved her French class last year (in person) and has struggled this year. Alex was chosen for the whole school talent show and then they called to say it's a district rule that dogs cannot be in school. So they video taped his little talent but it really loses something if not live. I think it made him much less nervous though. Congratulations to Alex! I hope the talent show goes well. Do let your PT know at your next session - feedback is important.

gorgeous photo grammadee - that'll be perfect for the cover page. When is graduation? Her grad is June 7th. I am driving to Calgary the weekend before that to spend a little time with another ds's family, then flying to BC on the 5th, back to Calgary on the 10th, then driving home on the 11th. Hoping to get that page done in time to get it into the album before I go.

AussieMeg , what is the weather like in Australia right now? We are just starting to warm up, so you must be heading into Fall/Winter. How cold does it get in your neck of the woods? We're only nine days away from winter 😭 and the mornings are soooooo cold! it's 8:30am here now, and it's only 5C (41F). Our temperatures have been between 16C and 20C (60F-68F) this month. I don't know how people cope in countries where it snows! I'm too much of a big baby for that kind of cold! I'm sorry to hear that you're still in pain. Does it feel like it's starting to get better, at least a little bit?

Good morning Pokeys! nylene I hope your shoulder feels a bit better today. Linda I can relate to your DD. I did well in school, but still stressed about anything that wasn't an A! grammadee that is a beautiful picture. I can't wait to see what you do with it. AussieMeg we're heading into summer and it was 3C this morning, and it is only warming up to 10C, but we've had a rainy weekend. I had a great visit with my mom and sister. We did a little bit of yard work, went shopping, ate, and watched TV. Very low key and relaxing. I got my nails done last night and I decided to go with bright pink. Have a great day everyone.

I don't know how people cope in countries where it snows! I'm too much of a big baby for that kind of cold! I always think of you when I revel in the light returning to our side of the earth. Funnily enough our temps yesterday were the same as yours! But ours on on the upswing--I HOPE! You wonder how we can live with cold and snow. I wonder how you can live with the 35+C temps you get each summer! A perfect summer day for me has a temp around 25C. And a night that drops down to about 18. Dd is coming today, and Dh is planning to mark the lines in the garden, so *maybe* we can get some seeds in the ground today. Later I will be taking dgs to soccer practice while dd hosts a webinar. Before all that starts, I want to stuff a few more page protectors. Albums and protectors arrived yesterday, so no excuses now... Tomorrow, on my way to the funeral, I plan to drop off the last couple of pages to be printed. That includes the title page I am working on now, which will need a 5x7 photo (Which I will print while there) slid into a frame. Have a wonderful Wednesday, Pokeys!

AussieMeg, Winter...makes me shiver. I am so looking forward to warmer days. We have had a lot of late afternoon rains and cold. The days start off sunny and warm, but end in cold rain. We really need the water, though so I can't complain. It seems so strange that your winter starts in June. I would love to visit your country. grammadee, what a treasure you are making for each of your grands as they graduate. So much work but fabulous reward. You have a busy day in front of you. justjac, so nice that you could spend time with your mother and sister. Is this your twin? I love nice, relaxing visits!Do you have any fun plans when school ends? I just finished 24 graduation cards for Angie's Girl Scout District. They all have a star-embossed background which Steve did for me. I'm staying away from the Big Shot for a while! My shoulder is better and I can tell I am making progress but I really hate having the therapist stretch me tomorrow. I know it is necessary, but it's pretty ouchie!

Good morning, Pokeys. nylene, I hope the PT session goes well and does not give you too much discomfort. Congrats to your talented grandson. Too bad they couldn't have made an exception for his little puppy to appear live in the school for his performance. So glad that you are crafting again. How sweet of your dh to run your Big Shot to emboss all those card fronts! I will be heading out, later today, to the town where my dSIL lived. There is a viewing this evening, the funeral tomorrow. They have asked me to read the eulogy. Not sure how much of it is written, or if we will piece the rest of it together tonight. Dh has decided not to attend, so he will be staying home. Dd and dgs will drive up and back tomorrow. I plan to stay until Saturday, as there will be a family gathering after the funeral on Friday evening. Going to keep working on dgd's album this morning. I have a page put together with a frame to slip a 5x7 photo into. I will print that today. Hopefully I will be able to print the photo, then slip it into the frame on the page, and then have them copy the page for her book. I would love to give her the original of this page, but it is way too poofy for an album with as many pages in it as hers will have. Better get back to stuffing page protectors...

Happy Thursday! Waving hi to you all. I did a little scrapping and mini album making this week. Not sure how I feel about my page but maybe I will work on it more today or tomorrow. No exciting plans for the holiday weekend but I hope we can make it to the tennis park or regular park. We haven't been out on the tennis courts to hit balls or play this year. I do miss it. nylene- I am happy to hear you had a nice birthday. Wow, you made a lot of cards. I know your dd appreciates your work. You do such beautiful cards. Hang in there with your exercise. I hope it gets less painful soon. grammadee- Congrats on your dgd graduation! You got some nice trips coming up and I know you will have a great time. Also, good to hear your garden might be ready to start. AussieMeg- Wow, I didn't know it gets that chilly there. Brrrr!

Gorgeous grammadee ! A perfect title page for the celebrated young lady. How will the ribbon photocopy? Your photo is excellent, but I'm curious as to what a scan does to it... Big bolstering hugs coming at you, hoping your next couple of days and eulogy go smoothly through the sorrow. Wow, I didn't know it gets that chilly there. Brrrr! that's rather nice fall weather for us here Altho we're already in the 80s/90s here - my oldest, with his head in the clouds, said "seems nice for summer". I had to remind him that we still have a month of SPRING left here and yet we've had the AC on every day this week. nylene - how was the PT? I'm so glad to hear that you are progressing and that you were able to churn out that many cards! That is so very kind of you to do - I hope they appreciate you! justjac - can't wait to see your nails tomorrow?? I haven't done mine in so long - they just can't hold up at work. But I gotta get my toes done because ^^weather = sandals! Our new furniture got delivered yesterday. One word: big. It's hard to imagine in a showroom just how BIG these items will look in your space! We were getting used to having a large empty house, and now it's rather full. We got a sectional with 2 recliner parts to it, a new kitchen table (didn't need it but there was a floor model on great sale) and a new dining room table (we've never had a true dining room, just the kitchen area). I've got so much done this week, and yet it's not enough IYKWIM. I feel like I need another week of vacation to recover from my week of "vacation"!

Hello! Gorgeous page and young woman! Congrats to DGD! Sending good vibes to you. We've already had some pretty warm weather, and I know I'm the weird one, but I envy AussieMeg going into winter lol. I just don't tolerate the heat well lol. nylene I hope the PT didn't hurt too much! So good to hear you are feeling a difference! I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already! Oh! and a long weekend too, I keep forgetting that part! yay! I'll be here with a link, same time , same channel if anyone is going to be around, I had totally forgotten it was a holiday weekend here. I've got a cat trying to take my fingers off here. lol

Our new furniture got delivered yesterday. One word: big. It's hard to imagine in a showroom just how BIG these items will look in your space! Yes, we found that out when we bought a new entertainment unit earlier this year. It came in three sizes, and we bought the biggest one, because it was the only one with an opening large enough for our big-arse TV. We have a huge lounge room, and this unit takes up almost the whole long wall. I knew it was big, but when it's in a huge showroom, you don't quite get the feel for just how big it really is. (And to the guy who made a You Tube video showing him putting it together - YOU LIE! It did not take two hours at all, it took SIX HOURS! And my DSO is very good at that kind of thing, and had all the power tools required to get it done quicker.) Tell me more about your new couch - what colour and material is it? Do you love it?

AussieMeg - Wow, I didn't know it gets that chilly there. Brrrr! I'm in Melbourne, Victoria, which is down south. We are one of the coolest states in the country, second only to Tasmania. If you go up north, the climate is tropical, and the temperature is 31C - 34C all year round. That's about 88F - 93F. I would love those temperatures, but I would not be able to handle the six month rainy season!

Happy Saturday Pokeys!
It was so good to hangout last night with you guys. And even though we were quiet, it was so comfortable. I never felt the need to try to fill the air with conversation.
I think I'm going to do a little shopping at Joann this weekend, and maybe the LSS about 45 minutes from me. Laundry and other chores, like shopping for food. I detest meal planning and grocery shopping. I get so tired of making the decision of what to eat day after day lol. Some fun scrappy shopping can be the reward for getting the work done lol.
There is also an annual thing here in the city called the Parade of Hearts. It's huge heart sculptures that are painted by local artists and then placed throughout the city from April to Aug. I believe there are just over 100 hearts this year. Once August is over, the hearts are auctioned off for good causes. I'm going to get out and find the ones that are in my part of the city this weekend. Not sure what else yet. Maybe nothing lol. I mentioned in the team thread that I also have to get knitting again. I have 1 1/4 blankets to finish before Christmas.
I hope everyone has a good weekend!

joyfulnana - sounds like some fun plans for the weekend! Enjoy. I get tired of menu planning also - I don't mind shopping. Today we did recycling (no kerbside - we have to take to two different places to drop off) and grocery shopping. I did get to talk to DS for a couple of hours - he's in Spain atm. These are from last night I still need to journal on these pages but otherwise they are done and two sympathy cards

Great pages Linda! I love the title for your eclipse page. Including the glasses was a great touch too. I have to giggle when I see Dusty so comfortably lying in the center of your scrap table. He knows where the fun is. Your embossing folder is so pretty on those sympathy cards. So sorry that you have need of them right now. joyfulnana, thanks for the link last night. It was such a comfortable evening. I finished the first page I have done in months. Today I hung the flowers and little bees on the bulletin board at church and they look cute. It's nice to be scrapping a bit again. I look forward to your Friday nights!!

Good Sunday morning, Pokeys! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I am home from the funeral. It was a bitter sweet time, reliving memories with friends and family. Music and friends were always a huge part of my brother and sister-in-law's lives, and she had requested her funeral end with a PARTY! So for Friday night a community hall was rented and filled with musicians and music and singing. Lots of laughter and hugs, and I got to take lots of photos with my camera, but have not looked at them closely yet. That's one of the things I need to do today so I can upload some of them to my phone to share with family members. I am home for a few days before leaving again for the grad. Lots to do before then. Bedding plants and the rest of the seeds need to go into the garden, and I need to finish stuffing pages into dgd's albums (there will be two). You were right, kitbop: the scan turned out horribly. So I have a new plan. I will use the original page on the outside FRONT of one of the albums, and will put together a simple no-photo congratulations page for the first page inside. As part of my "stuffing", I will be sliding in sheets of pp in coordinating colours into blank facing pages at some point throughout the albums as well. So what am I doing, today? I am off to dgs's baseball tournament! It is local, so not far to drive. And I still have the morning to chill. He has a double header this afternoon. Not only that, but the SUN is out! Supposed to be a the first nice warm day in a long time...

welcome home grammadee - I'm sure it was bittersweet but it sounds like she had a wonderful send-off. Enjoy your time at home - good luck getting the albums stuffed. She's going to love it. Good luck to your gs in his tournament! Not sure what my plans are for today - depends on what DH decides to do. Hoping to get some scrapping in - at least the journalling on those two layouts so I can put them away.

It has been months since I did a scrapbook page. I have finished 2 plus a bunch of cards. The Card Club page is a scraplift of Linda's National Scrapbook day page. Thanks, Linda. Star Student BrockCard Club grammadee , glad you enjoyed the gathering after the funeral. How did you feel about your eulogy? I'm sure you did an excellent job. I hope you have been able to get those bedding plants and seeds into the ground. You have a busy summer ahead of you. We have not done anything fun over the weekend, but plan to go to 5 Guys for dinner tonight. We haven't been there for months and it's a great treat for us.
