Side-lining just a little here. I've read so much "once a child-molester, always a child-molester" in this thread. Many 14-year-olds' hormones go completely out of whack temporarily, and some do stupid things. Once their hormones have settled down, the urges go away. Has it been covered whether Josh Duggar ever did those things again? Because if he knew it was wrong, and didn't continue after his confession, then the parents could believe quite easily that their way of treating the whole thing "worked", whether it was lawful or not. Don't get me wrong, I'm not minimalising his perverted child-hood actions one bit, and I think there should be justice done. But labelling him as a danger to society or to his own daughter, 13 years later, if there was no reoccurrence seems extreme. If his wife knew all about it before she married him, she's going to be keeping her eyes open too. I think the mistake you are making is thinking that this kind of stuff is coming from "raging hormones of teenhood" and that is false. The urges of a child molester have nothing to do with normal teenage hormones. It's a lot more complex than that. This goes beyond typical teen exploration of new feelings, if that makes sense. I mean think about it, when you were going through puberty, did your hormones direct you to sexually touch younger children, namely your siblings? I agree. Raging teen hormones with no sexual outlet can usually be mitigated with masturbation (also a big no-no in the Duggar world), not molestation.

FFS, they just showed a clip of tonight's interview and Michelle has her crocodile tears flowing and Jim Bob is smug as can be. The fact that it's prerecorded AND takes place in the Duggar's home doesn't leave me much hope that she will get to drill them like she may otherwise had been able to if they didn't have home field advantage.

... I'll change my prediction to the majority of the focus of Kelly's interview being on how it is a liberal conspiracy that this all came to light and how Jim Bob, Michelle, and Josh are the REAL victims.

I can't do the Duggars. Something was always off about them to me. And I always thought it was horribly unfair that they made the older kids take care of the newest babies. Let the kids have a life why don't ya.

I am so on the fence. I want to watch, but I just can't stand the thought of spending an hour on Jesus has forgiven us. I would have felt sympathy for the whole family, accept Josh, at the time of the crime. After all, no family wants to face this type of situation. But after seeing the way it was handled, I have zero sympathy for Jimbob and Michelle. She can cry all she wants but really, they totally screwed up the handling of this whole situation. I feel nothing for them. I do feel bad for the girls who were the victims in all this. It's bad enough that it happened, but then to be completely swept under the rug like it was and now to come out publically like that, I do feel sympathy for them.

I had no idea this was already out in the public. Then why bother with the Megyn interview? what more do you expect to find out? (not just you, all posting) I don't follow the family, so I have no idea.

The police report wasn't "leaked." It was released legally to the media under the Freedom of Information Act. Trying to shut down discussion of the topic by claiming it was minors who were involved and therefore none of our business seems desperate to me. what are the laws regarding FOIA and juvenile records? Megyn's a lawyer, she should know. She's had other lawyers on her show discussing this. Maybe tonight she'll apologize for giving an incorrect legal opinion on her show re: FOIA and releasing juvenile records.
Why would anyone expect this interview to not be prerecorded?

Jill and Jessa are going to be interviewed too! Oh my Lord... how brainwashed those girls must be. I have no doubt they will say they have forgiven him and prayed about it and are closer to God now. This just makes me sick. I can't believe the are going to trot out two of his victims to basically stand up for him - because you know they for sure won't say anything against him. Just keep victimizing them over and over! Link to People statement

I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know what Megyn said or whether it's correct or not.

ABC news ran a story tonight that appears to be an excerpt from tonight's interview. After listening to Michelle's whiny voice I just know I can stand listening to her. I think I'll just get the readers digest version here after it runs.

I think the reason the girls probably didn't receive any kind of psychological counseling is because the counselor would be a mandated reporter of abuse to the authorities....and then the gray train would have derailed for Michelle and "her wonderful husband, JimBob".
