I may change my approach to Dec Daily this year by not being confined to the exact dates. One daughter has already gone tree chopping, and I like the idea of having a Thanksgiving photo. These are both pre-December. Also, since I include my 3 daughters (they are in their 20's) in my Dec Daily there are some days with multiple events, like on the weekend, and some boring mid-week days with nothing going on. So my plan is going to be 25 pages to Christmas, in chronologic order, but not limited to specific dates. This is exactly the approach I do my DD in. I always do 25 pages for my album in chronological order but don't do a photo each day. My album is more a Christmas memories album.

Thank you so much for starting this thread. I absolutely love doing DD! As I have posted somewhere else, I got an early start on my photos and album. Last week I helped my daughter decorate her home and then did mine. We also Christmas shopped last week. I also got some photos at Thanksgiving going through Black Friday ads. So I've completed the first few pages and have more photos printed. I'm mainly using a couple of older MME lines.

Me too! I actually have quite a few photos already for my DD! In the past week I've had several great opportunities to take photos. I've helped my daughter decorate her home 2 different days. We also went Christmas shopping one day. I've also made my cards and gift tags which I always include. And my daughter sent an invite to her holiday party. I started my album this weekend!!! Love this time of year and this project!!

I am so excited! I'm starting my first page of my DD today! Since my DD's are more Christmas memories than an actual picture a day, I am ready. Yesterday I helped my daughter decorate her tree. I know it's early but she is having a Christmas party the first weekend in December and because of her work schedule she needed to start getting ready now. I am remembering how much I love doing a DD!!

The WRMK staple board, Heidi Swapp Cricut cartridge and also my hubby to make me a new table for my scrap room. I have 2 long craft tables in there now but since I tend to stand a lot when I scrapbook I would like a higher bar type table. He made one we use to eat at and it's the perfect height.

I have to rethink my format. I was going to use a 4x6 mini album I have but am struggling because it is too small for photo and journaling. But it's so cute and perfect for this project.. Can you make a pocket behind each photo, journal on tags, & tuck the tag behind each photo? Great idea!! I think that would work! Thank you and thank you for the daily prompts and guidance for this project!

My husbands mother was/is a documenter. Now he's the firstborn so naturally everything was documented! She took Polaroids every week and write EXACT ages, his and then later his brother and sister. So he appreciates my scrapbooking. One of our dear friends had some sort of virus in her brain a few years ago that caused her to lose a lot of her memories, permanently. She's completely healed now but the lost memories won't be recovered. She gets my obsessive need to document. One of my fears in life besides a kid getting hurt is Alzheimer's or some sort of memory loss. So yeah I date everything and even if it's obvious which child is in the picture, I still write it down. What if I die and they can't figure out who is who? (They all 3 look freakishly alike). juliehenry4 that is my greatest fear as well. That is one of the reasons I am so passionate about memory keeping

Can you get him to write about, or tell you about his memories of growing up? In the end it is the memories in the scrapbook that really make the difference. When my kids were small, I had a film camera and not a lot of time. After photos taken each month of the first year for each child, I took photos at Christmas and on birthdays, and not all of them turned out. There are a couple of years, right after we moved and I had an extra couple of hours added onto each work day for travel that I seem to have very few photos. I wonder about all the photos that are taken today and "posted" somewhere, yet never printed. As technology changes, the new platforms make it difficult or impossible to read the older files, so I am not confident that electronically saved photos will always be available. Grandmadee, I worry about all the photos on digital memory as well. Most of my family and friends only use their phones for taking photos and do not print any. My daughter actually "lost " all her photos from about 5 years on her phone, none were printed. She did end up getting them all recovered thankfully but it was expensive. And the album I'm making is a gift for my husband but I'm leaving space for him to help with the journaling.

Here is my cover. I found the mini album I wanted to use and sorted out my Thanksgiving papers and embellies. That is the extent of my prep. Every other page will be done as I get to it. May do more than one on a particularly thankful day. cover by Gramma Dee, on Flickr That is absolutely beautiful!! Love it!!

My cousin's husband is one of 10 children. There is exactly ONE photo of him until he met her at age 17. It is a cub scout photo at about age 8. His parents couldn't afford to buy his school pictures. They did not have a camera and did not take photos. It is hard to believe that no relative took any photos at family gatherings but no one says they have any photos. 30 photos isn't bad. I think I have about 15 or 20 of my husband and most of those are baby photos or graduation photos. I think about this sometimes and wonder if future generations will say the same about videos. They're becoming so common now, and coming technology will allow all of us to wear cameras all the time and record any/all the moments of our days. I have just a handful of DS. I wonder if his children will wonder where all the videos are!? I wonder about videos about too. I have even less than you do. And wow only 1 photo. That is sad. I guess I am very lucky to have 30.

I have done this several times in the past. I absolutely love this project! Besides my DD, it is probably my favorite project to do. I don't do it every year and actually wasn't going to do it this year but you all got me really wanting to do it again!

I have a frustration that only you fellow scrapbookers would understand. For my husband's 50th birthday I am making him a scrapbook of his childhood. Since his parents are no longer living,I asked his sister for his childhood photos. There are exactly 30 photos of him from birth till we met when he was 20... I have commented to several family members (mine not his) and friends and they were not surprised. They just said not every one is a picture taker. I understand that but only 30 photos seems so sad... I guess that reinforces why it is so important for me to take as many photos as I do and scrapbook them.

I'm also a non-prepper. I actually love the concept of prepping ahead of time but it just doesn't work for me. I have the album and supplies bought and ready but that's as far as I get. I do work on it (time allowing) in December but usually do most of it in January and always finish by the end of January.

For our anniversary (which was last month) my husband gave me a picture of me taking a picture and wrote me a letter telling me he loves to watch me taking photos and doing what I love and am passionate about. He wanted me to make a scrapbook layout of the picture and letter and frame it. I just finished that layout!

Mine is so incredibly tiny it's ridiculous. Here it is before we moved in. It's the 3rd bedroom that lost a ton a room to create the stairs into the attic. I have my desk that just fits in the alcove with the window to my right when sitting. On the long wall on the left i have an old buffet and i use for storage and can lay out my 12x12 album on top and work standing. To the right i have a storage unit from costco with the 8 canvas boxes for storage. Directly behind the door is a radiator with a table over it that can use as flat storage, but i don't like blocking the window. I need to figure out how to organize the closet to maximize my storage. I do have heat, but no AC so i have to take a break from crafting in the summer. [img src="http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161012/f0fd49ce9b68f31106935f2 bf4d48b24.jpg"] [ Oh my goodness!! I misread this and thought you said "mine is so tidy it's ridiculous"!! I was so jealous of you!!! Lol

Am I the only person that still just uses cartridges with my Cricut? I have the original Cricut (which my daughter is now using)and an Expression. I know I'd have a lot more options with Explore or Design Space but I just have no desire to be tied to my computer.
