pancakes thanks for the feedback, that’s helpful to know. I agree that inked customer service is awful. But at this point with my scrap stash and budget, I would rather have a kit with less, but well made, products than a lot of cheaply made stuff that just sits in my stash. But I could definitely see the opposite if I didn’t have a stash problem and wanted more options. I know what you mean about the shiny cards, the ones from feed your craft are like that. These aren’t like that, they remind me of Becky Higgins core kits with thickness and print quality and have that dull almost chalky look because the print quality isn’t that good, so none of the colors are vibrant. So maybe they changed the cards since you subscribed? ETA: here’s photos of the most egregious card. The first one is the messed up side. You can see the black ink along the edges and see the pattern through it in places. The second is the back side so you can tell what you are seeing through/bleeding onto the other side. I’ve never had that problem with CT cards and I’ve been subbed for over a year now. Sorry to hear you’re disappointed on your first experience with them. For me, what CT lacks in quality, they make up for ease of use. Yes SC cards are thicker, their chipboard is thicker, their ephemera packs are smaller and on a thicker weight but damn, I found SC so difficult to use in the end. I am still clearing out useless SC bits from my craft room. Stickers with useless and too quirky sayings I can’t relate to, ephemera packs with odd shapes and pieces that are too obscure for my photos, chipboard in weird colours that don’t match outside of a kit and endless amounts of those washi tape strips. I’ll take a little reduction in quality if it means I can use a kit up easily with very little effort. The ephemera packs just seem to work beautifully with my photos and the stories I want to tell.

Can someone explain the new sub to me? Is the new Citrus Twist album specifically made to hold TNs? The whole notebook in each page protector? Or is the new album for individual pages created the size of TNs? New album for individual pages created to the size of TNs

The scrapbook add on seems to be a regular 12x12 kit but without exclusives or a stamp set. To offset that it’s $10 cheaper than the full kit was. Were they not quite sure about the new direction and doing this a a backup? I hardly do12x12 any more—I switched to 81/2 x 11 since I didn’t like the square shape. I do like fact that they offer page protectors and I might be interested in trying a TN down the road but not just yet. I think they are confident in their new kit but didn’t want to disappoint their subscribers who had been subbed to their 12x12 kit.

I like the cards but the kit is boring. Same shit, new year it would appear for SC.

You are welcome, quietgirl. I usually use the big end and the sides to use different colors. When they dry on the sponge, I cut it off to get a clean piece. That way I can use the sponge for quite a while. I don't wash them. I use, dry, cut, repeat. I hadn’t thought of using a sponge + acrylic paint + stencil. I’ll have to try that, this year!

Inspired by the paint and stencils release in Maggie Holmes new line, I'm going to try my hand at using stencils and acrylic paint to add texture and depth to my layouts. Though I'm not buying new paint. The craft stuff I have now is fine. Might need to look for a stencil I like. What technique are you going to try? 😀 If you want to add texture, I really recommend picking up some modelling paste. It goes through stencils beautifully as acrylic paint can be messy with stencils alone. You can mix it with the acrylic paint for some great dimension.

I must have no imagination because I immediately thought acrylic paints and stencils when I saw that sneak. I agree about the periwinkle being fresh, hope the rest of the color palette doesn’t revert back to more of the same. After Christmas it’s nice to look forward to some spring invoking releases! you were right - the collection does have new acrylic paint and stencils 👍🏻

I have a few albums I'd like to use this year, but I don't like their color. Can someone please tell me how they covered theirs? Is it easy? I would like to know this too. My only 9x12 album is an ugly gold colour and id love to cover it up

Well, as a current CT PL subscriber, I'm not massively concerned about this news. I'm intrigued and I trust Trina enough to at least give it a few months and see how I get on with it.
How I understand it from the email is that it is an improved, more versatile version of the current PL kit, I'm all for improvements!
The kit is still going to include 3x4 cards, which for me is essential.
We'll see how it goes - I want to continue seeing chipboard, 3x4 cards, ephemera and puffy stickers. If those things drop off, I'm out.

I'm a bit pissed by this release, at this time. It's the 15th Dec - most of us know what format we are doing next year and have the albums ready.
They could have officially announced that 9x12 was coming way sooner, so people could have held off from purchasing other solutions.
Ali/SC forget that the rest of us have to plan ahead and don't just get given shit loads of product all year around. The rest of us have to consider our budgets and purchase in advance.

I broke free from it the day I went back and looked at a completed album. I didn’t see the paper, stickers, embellishments. All I saw was my story and memory preserved.

Wow, I'm really surprised. I've never shopped with CD but from what I understand - their kits are highly sought after.

I bought one stamp from Citrus Twist
I was a bit disappointed by the offerings for Black Friday this year from my usual brands. I’m usually so so tempted but this year, nothing tempted me!

When I discovered modern day scrapbooking, it was 12x12 for me. But I found that since my true love is papercrafting in general, I am open to a lot of different sizes, and formats, sometimes even mixed. ETA: except digital. That does not seem fun to me. This, 100%. Except my 12x12 was 12x12 pocket pages. Discovering that has opened up my eyes to papercrafting. I love escaping from the digital world.

I will be carrying on with the 6x8 format with the view of doing a 12x12 for my honeymoon. Where do you purchase your page peotectors? Simple Stories are my go to for page protectors. I pick them up on amazon or eBay

I wonder how many more sales that Carolina Moon card kit will show up in before it’s actually sold out Gosh, that kit is like the herpes of Studio Calico. Just when you think its gone, BAM. Its back and no one wants it. i feel the same way about the ‘I love ewe’ washi/masking tape that just won’t go away!

Remember when they had a stamp giveaway on instagram and I won a 6x8 stamp and it was USED? Not only was it used, I didn't even mind that that much, but they just crammed it into a too small envelope with no stamp packaging and the plastic backer got bent. Well, the stamp I won is now on sale in the shop. Seriously, they couldn't give away one of the fresh one!? I know I got it for free so I shouldn't complain, but it's just sleazy to run a giveaway and then have that be the prize, especially when you still have them in stock. Wow how low can they go? Just when we think they’ve hit rock bottom they surprise us again.

I can’t even be bothered to browse their sale section. All the paper crafting stuff is STILL mixed in with party stuff plus the new addition of cookery items??? Obvs ex-BBB but it’s all junk.

I got what was happening too but I hadn’t considered, purely because the bank of words on the site it’s so big, that they are recycled from last years jewellery. I knew there had to be some sort of automation or recycling from somewhere, though.
Either way, it’s a desperate attempt to make some extra cash and I won’t have any part in it. Ali is single handedly flushing her brand down the toilet now by agreeing to stuff like this.

There’s no way Ali wrote all those words. I imagine she wrote out individual letters and common ligatures and it’s all been ran through software to automatically generate the words.

If I take a lid off a mist to use it, I put it back on immediately after I’ve finished. One day it will be a chair or your carpet that it will tip onto and stain

This isn't even really a "release". Why not offer the numbers at DD time when they match that project. They would all sell out in minutes. They DITL kit doesn't even go with them. So weird. The DITL kit looks like pieces from last year's Give kit reworked. Nothing new with it. The chipboard numbers are cheap! And I like the "die" But do I need it. No...But they'd work in my DD. So even with the $3 shipping, I'll still end up getting them because I'm a sucker. I'm not sure I agree the chipboard numbers are cheap. I think they're priced fairly but seem like a bargain price because they're not a million dollars like her usual chipboard sheets.

We have very small Works, and we do have a Range, I've just remembered. Although it's in a different town so I'd have to drive. I do go to the mainland sometimes but it's a bit of an expedition...I liked being able to pop into TK Maxx on my lunchbreak! Also I'm coming to the end of some of the 12x12 pads that I got from there and I could do with some more Ah apologies I didn’t realise you were on one of the Isles. The Range has a massive craft section and sometimes The Works has some good little bits online, which you can order for pick up in store.
