6 black dresses. I had to go to a funeral last week and scrambled for something dressy enough. Not going to get caught again. I’m going to buy all six in hopes that one or two will work out.

PurOrganica Urea 40% Foot Cream - No Pumice Stone - Callus Remover - Moisturizes & Rehydrates Thick, Cracked, Rough, Dead & Dry Skin - For Feet, Elbows and Hands - Made in USA a.co/d/hZxn8gRUse this after your shower. It’s very strong, so after my heel cracks improved, I only needed to use it a few times per week. It helps dissolve the dead skin and moisturize it. Great stuff.

My mom was a great cook and used all the vegetables. I hated Brussels sprouts; they were so bitter tasting. Nowadays I love them roasted. I read that the new varieties have bred out the bitterness and increased the sweetness.

My cat is so weird. He’s old and loud. He has the two separate boxes for poo and pee. He likes to sleep under the covers on me but with his nose touching my face. He also loves to sniff my breath. Weirdo.

My father passed away the day my mother had her knee replacement surgery. We waited a few months until she was recovered enough to attend a memorial service. Family was being very insistent that we have it soon, but we wanted mom to be comfortable enough to get through it.
My FIL died last Tuesday and his service was on Saturday.

Bumping this thread -- I just returned from my FIL's funeral in Louisiana. My SIL picked up a bunch of king cakes from Dong Phuong Bakery, and they were DELICIOUS. So so good, more like a flaky croissant texture than a cake. I'm a big fan of the cinnamon one.

I'm not on tiktok, but I love watching videos of cars being detailed. It's one of those things I leave in the background for noise, and I enjoy seeing the cars looking so spiffy.
Also first time song watchers - there are 20ish twins who video themselves hearing a classic (usually rock, but sometimes country) song for the first time. It's fun to see them gasp at something I loved back in the day. I also watch some music teachers who do the same thing.

I had a male OBGYN. He saved my life when I had an ectopic pregnancy. I’m eternally grateful for his skill and expertise as a doctor. Plus he was a super nice person.

I’m not very good at styling hair, but a touch of hair wax to tame them down might work. You just take a tiny dab and rub it between your fingers to warm it up, and use a light touch.

Paradise by the dashboard lights? Lol! Isn’t that like 20 minutes long? I’d go with something Neil Young. You always sound good singing his stuff.

I buy 5-6 boxes from anyone who asks. DH’s partner’s granddaughter, my nail Tex’s daughter, the kids at Stop and Shop. I put them in the freezer. DH and DS will polish them off eventually. They don’t make the kind I like anymore - do-so-dos. I love supporting Girl Scouts.

I’m having some trouble liking it because I have such a clear picture in my head of his character from reading the Karin Slaughter books. He plays the part very differently. I agree. He is so not what I imagined Will Trent to be. In my head, Will does not dress like that and he’s hot. I did like Angie. Yes! Angie was perfect. And Will is supposed to be tall, thin, and hot.

I love sumac. It’s a key ingredient in a middle eastern salad called fattoush. So fresh and yummy.
I also add it to yogurt dips and sauces. It adds a bright flavor to tangy yogurt.
It’s also an ingredient in za’atar, a spice blend that I use a lot. O

Shakshuka
I just put this recipe on next week’s plan. It looks delicious.

I didn’t use a recipe, but we had black bean and sweet potato tacos with mashed avocado last night. Boy was it good. I heated a can of black beans and mashed about half of them and added some spices (cumin, coriander, garlic salt). I roasted cubed sweet potatoes with olive oil, garlic salt, and lots of Aleppo pepper. Spread the black beans on a flour tortilla, added the sweet potato, and topped with avocado and a squeeze of lime.

My husband does the initial sort looking for edge pieces. He enjoys doing the edge so much that I let him do the whole thing. I usually work from the top down from the upside down position, but I put together chunks that I notice go together and then add them with a pancake flipper later. I love doing sky and clouds. I find it meditative to look for the gradations of color in the pieces. I don’t usually look at the box at all, but my husband does. He likes to pick out a piece and figure out where on the board it goes. We complement each other well.
We’ve just gotten back into them after a hiatus. I have a spinning puzzle board and a bunch of flat plastic jewelry trays for sorting.

We just finished Star Trek Cats. It fits my husband's personality completely. I love doing animal puzzles -- it's so much fun to find little eyes and ears and tails. Did I mention that Spock looks just like my Percy boy in my avatar? kels99 We also got that Costco Dowdle puzzle. The Dowdle puzzles are awesome -- there are puzzles for so many cities and they are colorful and fun to put together. sunnyd Check out the puzzles in the long running puzzle thread during 2020/2021.

i remember reading all the headlines when it came out. but no one has really provided any details since then. did the snow plow run him over? he he lose control? i all i know is he had two surgeries and has blunt force trauma to his chest. that is so scary. i really hope he recovers well. i really like him in Mayor of Kingstown. The article linked in the OP says neighbors said the snowplow ran over his leg, causing severe damage. But it didn't say how he got the chest injury. Just awful.

Pasta with olive oil, garlic, spinach, and cherry tomatoes. Top with toasted pine nuts and parm and red pepper flakes. You could add fresh mozzarella or Italian sausage to make it more hearty.

My (now adult) kids’ 4th grade teacher was arrested for murdering her boyfriend. She allegedly poisoned him over time with antifreeze.
It’s been at least 10 years since I’ve seen her, but she was a lovely and wonderful teacher. So awful.
