Just reading your post made me pea-livid. That type of behavior (arriving late, talking during performance, messing with cell phones) makes me FURIOUS. Especially when it's a performance I paid good money to attend. That guy who told her to put the phone down, I probably would have kissed him full on the mouth after. Lol. I haven't been to any group performances in two years because of covid, and I'm afraid I might just cause a scene if what you describe happened to me at this point, since I've lost my tolerance for fools and the inconsiderate. My friend thanked him after the performance!! Lol

I am surprised they didn’t have a “no cellphone” announcement, which they should have (although sounds like they would have missed it anyway, being late). I have been a ballet subscriber since the 90s and theater/opera patron as well, and in the 90s, as I recall, if you were not there at the start, you were ushered into a room where you could watch a simulcast until intermission. Sounds like that is where they belonged. I was surprised they didn’t have them wait, it’s always been like that before, the ushers wouldn’t even open the doors for you to gain access until an act was over!

Plus, there are signs everywhere, with the rules, it’s on the electronic tickets, it’s printed in the program….

NTA. I despise people who act like that during performances. I was so pissed. Plus it was one of my friends first time going to a ballet performance. I tried to hold it in but it was so distracting!!

NTA This stuff drives me crazy. I'm guessing there was an announcement about not using cell phones/taking pictures, and, being late, they missed it. I swear, sometimes I think people treat the whole world like it's their own living room. Yes there was a lengthy announcement about cameras, cell phones, turning them off, etc. Plus you had to always have your mask on, which of course hers was a chin strap the entire time.

So we go to the ballet last night. We arrive on time and are seated. Light go down and music starts about 20 minutes later, and unfortunately, ushers are still seating late arrivals (I did send a message to the theater) —the tow directly in front of us. There are 6 empty seats. Usher confirms row and leaves. They have a party of 8 people 5 adult women and 3 children. So they stand there talking out loud to figure out their seats all the while blocking everyone’s view behind them (curtain hasn’t come up yet but music is still playing). Curtain comes up, and they try to sit crammed into the aisle when 2 have to make the rest of the people at the end of the tow get back up to let the 2 out. (We were seated in the center of the orchestra section pretty pricey seats). Other 2 women end up in the row in front of them. So they’re finally settled. But during the entire first act, they had their cell phones out, were taking pictures and texting. 3 Blue screens throughout the first half. At intermission, my girlfriends and I were stating out loud (but not yelling) how rude it was to be pulling out phones and taking photos and texting. They were still sitting in front of us, but were are not sure they heard us. They go up and do whatever and come back before intermission is over, and mom cracks out bags of twizzlers and M&M’s for their group! 😳 So then intermission is over music starts, curtain comes up and within 5 minutes the woman again pulls out her phone and is talking photos and texting!!! So I lean forward and say, “could you please put your phone away? It’s extremely rude and distracting”. She fires back at me twice as loud and says “well it’s a good thing the play is up there” ? What? (We think she meant not to pay attention to her) And she was all like “geezus, sheesh, laughing like she told us” looking around at others for acknowledgement that WE were the assholes. So not even 2 minutes go by and she starts texting again. (I did look around for an usher then, we were too far down and center to see them) So her little girl says something to her about the mean lady yelling at her, and mom puts the phone down. About 10 minutes later, she and the other woman put up their phones to take more pictures and a man on the other side of my friend sternly (and he had a clear deep voice) says “PUT IT DOWN”. They didn’t bring out their phones the rest of the play (thank goodness). But the little girl kept turning around looking at me giving me dirty looks. Play is over and I’m expecting her to go all Karen on me. She doesn’t, I think because someone else called out her shitty manners she figured she wasn’t going to win! 😆 So as we were walking out, her group was all gathered in the hall where the little girl (her daughter) was telling their group all about the “mean lady who yelled at them” They were late, rude, and had terrible manners, not to mention that she was teaching her children it’s okay to break the rules about phones, cameras, at the ballet. I don’t think I was being an asshole, but they sure think I was!

The heartbreak is overwhelming at times. The loneliness. And he fucking feels nothing because he spends his days and nights talking to her. My life is over as I know it. I'm worried about my kids and my pets and my house and my life. He's worried about beer and her. I'm keeping the house up, buying groceries (for ds and me) and making dinner for ds and me. I'm making sure ds has what he needs for school and is staying on track. I'm trying to make Christmas and life normal. And he's drinking and talking to her. How the fuck is this fair? It’s not. He’s a butthole. Do your kids know he has a side piece and us a cheater? Do for you and your son. Keep the prick away from you.

Among the gun rabid and rights rabid, it’ll be interesting to watch who/if/how these “responsible gun owners” (“They didn’t break any laws!”) will be defended, considering the context of the son’s crime. Crimes. Will the word “scapegoats” trend? As a “responsible gun owner”, I am pretty sure majority of “responsible gun owners” are disgusted by these parents and are happy they are being charged. But nothing will be done by “a majority of responsible gun owners” to change what’s happening.

I want to make a large batch of soup and freeze the leftovers. I want to be able to grab it from the freezer, put it in the fridge overnight to take to work the next day. I don’t want to have to transfer it from a ziplock bag to a container for reheating. I would prefer to use reusable containers to reduce waste. This seems so easy but I have fear of breaking plastic containers or having freezer burnt soup. Thank you. I use glass mason jars to freeze my soup. Best thing ever!

There is seriously something wrong with the people who think that sensible gun legislation is violating their freedom. How many dead and injured kids will it take before they say “Enough?”

Nothing will be done. Republicans and their right wing faction will say that this is a “fake video, these kids are actors, and no one got hurt or died.” They’ll scream, froth, and spittle out “NO ONE IS GOING TO TAKE AWAY MY GUNS!!! 2A, IT’S MY GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO GUNS” Just another normal day in the US. Nothing will be done because the republicans in congress are much worse than they ever have been in history. The GOP is too busy trying to ban abortion rights to be bothered with actual children dying. The Democrats seem to be too afraid of their own shadows to do anything about it so here we are. That’s not exactly fair on Democrats…they’re at least trying. Republicans are delaying, denying, obstructing.

Here is an updated article with more information. www.cnn.com/2021/12/01/us/michigan-oxford-high-school-shooting-wednesday/index.htmlFrom the article: “ However, authorities did learn after the shooting that the suspect and his parents met with school officials a few hours before the shooting. Officials met with just the suspect the day before and with the suspect and parents the day of the shooting, Bouchard said. "The day before, it was a meeting with school personnel about some concerning behavior and the meeting the day of was with school personnel and parents about a different issue," Bouchard said. The sheriff declined to go into issues on either day. "Prior to those two meetings there was no contact or nothing in his file by either concerning behavior or discipline," he said. McDonald told CNN she was not able to comment on what, specifically, the gunman, parents and school officials discussed during their meeting. "There's an additional piece of evidence that hasn't been released yet, but I can assure you it was troubling, it was disturbing, and unfortunately he was allowed to go back to class," she said.” I’m wondering the following: 1. Did he take the gun to school with him that morning, and/or 2. Did his parents know he had the gun that day, and/or, 3. Did his father/parents take the gun to school and give it to him after the meetings?

Thanks for all the input and suggestions. papercrafteradvocate my issues started when we turned the heat on too, ugh. I got out the humidifiers and put one in my bedroom and one on the main level yesterday evening. I also took some allergy meds along with nasal spray before bed last night. It helped A LOT. I felt almost normal. The whole family had covid tests before Thanksgiving so that was my most recent test which was negative. I was at my orthopedist last week where they always take my BP and it's normal. He did suggest that I add electrolytes even when I'm not doing long training, so I'm going to throw in some Nuun into one of my waters during the day. If it keeps happening, I'll deep dive into more of the suggestions here. Please Lord, if I'm allergic to gluten, let me survive until after Christmas baking. LOL I’m allergic to wheat. If I eat something that has wheat in it, I do get terrible headaches.

Oh my gosh this is happening to me right now. I have a headache almost every morning and todays is a killer. I want to cry and vomit. That sounds horrible, and very much like my migraines. I take painkillers and cola, the sugary caffeine helps but I know it makes some people worse. My other half takes allergy meds for his headaches. Hugs and sympathy to everyone suffering. It started when we turned on our heat! I HATE being hot. And it’s dry heat. I keep a water bottle on my nightstand and am going to remind myself to keep hydrating. I just ordered a small room humidifier for our bedroom. I used to suffer from migraines but haven’t in years. This weeks been sucky getting up! I do take Excedrin after I’ve eaten in the morning, with water or tea…. The headache is usually gone by lunchtime.

From local news here. News 12 NJ. FOUR days, he had the gun FOUR days!! Responsible gun owner!?!? NOT!! The shooter kid will claim self defense for being bullied. A judge will disallow the dead from being referred to as victims, and allow them to be called bullies. While the shooter kid won’t be allowed to be referred to as a shooter, murderer, killer.

NO FUCKING CHILD SHOULD HAVE TO ENDURE THIS! Omg that made me ugly cry for those terrified kids. I’m so angry that this is still happening as often as it does. Hell once is too often but after nothing changing after Sandy Hook I don’t see anything significant changing to actually help. This is the top of the 20’ tree I decorate every year. Takes a whole day to do, with 2 people prepping ornaments and florals, one handing up ornaments and a designer placing them! Went for a very floral more natural artistic look this year. I’m slowly changing all their decorations out each year to change it up. Man, I can’t even imagine. The logistics alone of decorating a 20’ tree are… daunting, but I would also imagine it’s really difficult (and expensive!) to get ornaments big enough for it! Your standard 3” ball just won’t work. 😂 It’s takes a ton of the 3” balls, lol!!! I use them more inside the tree than outwards. I probably use upwards of 200--300 ball ornaments on a 9’ tree (mostly inside for reflection and depth) on the tree in the first picture, I think I used about 350-400 ball ornaments. It’s hard to shop for larger ornaments, I’m the girl buying 3-4 carts of ornaments in July when they’re putting them out, I also order through wholesalers but this year, only a part of what I ordered came in, everything else was delayed. I definitely lay out thousands of dollars purchasing ornaments and decorations early in the season or a year before if I can— Decorating trees for “production” (meaning no sentimental attachment) is a lot different than doing the ones in your own home. It turns into a “task” on a list of things to do.

I’m waiting to hear if I’m part of a team going in to decorate another local historical mansion (manor) here—if so, my part is to make 245 paper fan/rosettes from 6” to 12” in diameter…I estimate that to take 2-12 hrs days to make them and it has to be installed by Friday!!!
Nothing like waiting until the last minute!
I have 2 more trees (so far) to decorate for clients and 6 homes with porch pots full of pine greens, birch, pinecones and berries…
My/our own flamingo tree will get done likely mid December.

You’re too kind!! Your trees are so cute—live the colors, they’re so fresh looking (I’m sick of glitter and bling! Lol) I have been super busy and this weekend I rested! Back at it tomorrow!! This one is for a historical home that started tours thanksgiving evening. They asked us to do a not so Disney version of Frozen (and I had never seen the movie!!!) myself and 2 others decorated the 10’ tree, the long garland below the stained glass window in the background, and an arch made of 2 skinny trees bowed over and connected at the to of the stairs in one day!!! And we did not put that fugly hat on the reindeer!!! My friend works here and I asked him to go hide it! I think the tree looks better naturally lit, in this photo, it had photography lights on it.
