No way - don’t stop! Keep going while the inspiration is alive! Those other things can wait! I totally agree, if inspiration continues to strike, definitely keep rolling with it!

I have a ridiculously stupid question. What program do you use to even start?? Photoshop? Not a ridiculous question at all! At the time I was a graduate student, I was able to purchase Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator with my student discount (was still an expensive purchase at time). Unless you get an older version, now they seem to only have a subscription based model (which I think is expensive), so to start, I would use Gimp (which I have heard is similar to Photoshop). Here is the linky: www.gimp.org

AmandaA I have the bough dies as well and found I have to use a metal adaptor to get clean cuts (even with newish plates). I was just going to comment to use a metal shim plate. That being said, even with a metal shim plate, I can't get some clean cuts from dies from certain companies, so I'll just pass it through my Big Shot several times and even flip the die & paper over until it cuts clean through. If you don't want to wait for the shim to arrive, I have made my own shim with several pieces of cardstock stacked together.

I wish I knew how to use digital designs. I remember feeling this way. It is difficult in the beginning, but after a while it is really addictive to play around and see what you can make. I've been making my daughter's birthday invitations, our Christmas cards, etc for a while now. It does get easier- I promise! Although the more you know, the more you realize how little you know (although with knowing a little you can still do a lot!)

I feel so stupid for preferring using watercolours instead than any of this type of markers. What am I missing? Are these aimed at people who don't like using traditional watercolours? You should not feel stupid at all, if anything, I feel stupid for buying the zig markers in the first place. I thought they would lay color down easily and then I could follow up with water or vice versa.

Hey christinebk , what don't you love about them? They are on my wishlist, but maybe I need to put the Mermaid markers on my list instead. scrapperal The video shows it best, but they behave like a marker and it bugs me. Also the colors are not as vibrant as I expected- if I do watercoloring (which is my favorite), I'll grab my actual watercolor palette. If you want to try them out SC has them on sale right now www.studiocalico.com/shop/clean-color-real-brush-12-color-setOnly 2 sets left as I looked, sorry if they sell out

Any thoughts on how these compare with Zig Clean Color watercolor brushes? Here's one review. Thanks for sharing this review, I have the zig markers, but just haven't been in love with them. Going to have to buy some Mermaid markers.

A thread about it is also on the Stamping board. Sorry, I missed it on the card-making board, despite my going once a day to see what's posted!

I agree with scrapnana about no lid support on the one corner. I am surprised SU was concerned about larger projects as they are basically about card making. I also wonder about the snap in hinges. How many snap ins and outs before they break, or get so loose they no longer stay in? Totally valid concerns! I was just excited about the innovative features (2 lids and lids being able to move). Hoping that they construct it solidly.

I only just found out about the Stamparatus from Stampin Up, so I just wanted to share the info here. I am not a Stampin Up demonstrator, just a happy card maker, and I must say I love the things this stamp positioner can do. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3teCr7Xo4G8&t=4s

He loves penguins, so if you can make him a penguin card I'm finishing up mine for him (first 2 attempts didn't come out as I wanted them to look). What a brave sweet little boy, breaks my heart.

I had planned on going more simple, but this August I lost my beloved kitten, Pan, to a brutal dog attack, so I'm going back and adding in all the extra photos I snapped of him. It's making finishing my December Daily for 2016 much more time consuming, but it's also therapeutic, too. I am so sorry that you lost your beloved Pan. I hope that you will be able to document him. I am so glad you have his big brother Wolfie! Hugs to you, it is so difficult to lose our beloved furbabies.

I put this on the NSBR side too. Another option: 9-year-old cancer patient asks for cards to celebrate 'last Christmas' early "For most, Christmas comes the same time every year. But for 9-year-old Jacob Thompson, a cancer patient with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma, the festive day is arriving early — and it will be his last. According to the GoFundMe page set up by Jacob's mother, the family admitted him to Barbara Bush Children's Hospital on October 11 with the understanding that he would pass away within a month." "Jacob loves the holiday season," Thompson Simard said, "and we want him to know that Christmas wishes come true and that there are good people who care all around the world." Jacob Thompson C/O Maine Medical Center 22 Bramhall St Portland, ME 04102 Thank you for posting this- will do this for sure and trying to do the Caring Hearts Drive. My Girl Scout troop have done cards for our local senior residents homes before, but have never done the Caring Hearts Drive.

Artifact Uprising just sent an email about A Season of Intention. The link takes you to a mad libs sort of take on what the season will look like for you. As a bonus, they will send a completed graphic to you. I thought it would be a neat twist on a manifesto page. Thank you for sharing this! mom - do you need help with the cameo file that you made, my Cameo has been getting a lot of usage this year, so I'm happy to help!

I don't think I'll be able to do December Daily this year, although I planned to. My Mum would have been 80 on 30th December and it's my birthday on 1st January. It's not going to be easy, is it? Sorry to bring this up again, but I am so sorry for your loss. One day at a time, do whatever you can when you can. Sending prayers your way.

You know, I've read the email like 4 times and it still makes no sense. Long winded and confusing. I don't like the part about it being a surprise. I don't understand why they can't spend more on IT to upgrade the backend, many other websites don't crash and have a lot of consumers.

someone else's dog eats washi?!? I thought it was just our goofy guy! he apparently loves the taste... I only know about it by finding the chewed up rolls on the floor (or in his poop). Perhaps our doggies are brothers from different mothers Mine started using it as teething toys. I have since then wised up and keep them in spice racks high on the back end of my desk instead of on a raskog cart.

nooooooooo! that super sucks!! i would do a LO using at least one of the papers, chew marks and all, and a photo of the perpetrator with a sign reading, “i’m such a pig i eat scrapbook paper between meals!” or something along those lines. i’ve never had trouble with my cats getting into stuff, although i do find cat hairs all over my pages, generally stuck in the adhesive and poking out behind pictures and such I would absolutely do a layout with the eaten paper and have the title "STINKER" If it comes down to it and your poor doggy has no other recourse would absolutely trade OA paper for your doggy (Just joking) He could join my washi- eating doggy and they could have many scrappy adventures!

I now only buy from SSS when I absolutely can't live without one of their branded items. And there are fewer and fewer of those that are must haves. This is where I stand as well.
