I've been twice. Don't miss: Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Badlands, drive through Custer State Park. If you can, drive Needles Highway (SD Hwy 67). We also make a side trip to Devils Tower in Wyoming and then hit Deadwood on the way back. It's amazing country. I agree with all of this. I have never seen Mt. Rushmore at night, so I will have to add that to my bucket list. People watching at Mt. Rushmore is also fun. In North Dakota, visit the Theodore Roosevelt National Park--Painted Canyon. Have fun!!

((Hugs)) to all those missing their dad. I lost my dad 4 years ago to a massive heart attack that came out of nowhere (no blood pressure/cholesterol problems, very healthy active guy). The last 4 years have been my most difficult as I have adjusted to our lives without my dads leadership, helping hands, and fierce love and ability to protect and provide for his family. Even though I have been married 16 years to a wonderful man, I still relied on my dad for so many things. I can smile now on Father's Day and feel blessed for having him as my dad, but, I know I will always feel like I am missing a piece of me and can't wait to see him again someday! Erin PS-thank you OP for giving us a place to remember our dads. :-)So much of this sounds like what happened to my dad and how I feel. He has been gone 22 years, but I miss him everyday, often many times a day.

She is beautiful. For a beautiful Southern female, how does Tallulah, and Talu for short, sound?

Some furbabies are just so special that they leave a big hole in your heart and life. ((Hugs)) My soulmate dog was a sheltie mix.

I too hate this game, no matter what it’s called. The first time I played was at the little work Christmas party. I received a beautiful fleece blanket that a friend/co-worker had made. The office “witch” stole it from me, and gave me the gift she had received, a traveling alarm clock. I was sad because I really liked the gift, and my friend/co-worker was mad because she didn’t want something she had made go to the office “witch.” When I related the story to a friend, she basically said I should have done what birdy’s great grandma did. She said I should have told the office “witch” “I like my gift, and I’m not trading.”

HRH is gorgeous. I love orange tabby kitties, and HRH looks to have a beautiful floofy tail to boot.

This is my baby Daphne who died two weeks ago after 17 1/2 years with us. RIP What a beautiful girl with a beautiful name. I am so sorry. I know how wonderful Siamese can be because I live with Bree, a sealpoint.

I can't watch it because it is North Dakota with mountains , but I do hate the shows that are really dark. This is also why I only watched the pilot. For anyone who doesn't know, North Dakota does not have mountains.

Cowl neck or turtle neck sweater, blazer and slacks or jeans. I love winter because I can wear sweaters. It's a good thing I live in North Dakota.

Depends on what kind of road you're talking about. On the highway I'll stop wherever if I have to pee bad enough. I can still hover and when you gotta go... On a dirt road in the middle of nowhere? I'll pee couched down hanging on to the bumper of the car. It's a skill every North Dakota girl learned as a small child and comes in very handy when you're a teenager My 89 year old Mother can probably still do it akathy, I am sitting here grinning. Yes, it's a skill every North Dakota girl learned as a small child--because for instance, there are no public restrooms between Max and Minot, and it's a long way if you have to go.

Thankfully, your son is all right. I knew a Canadian who hit a moose with a small Honda. The Honda was totaled, and he had a broken leg.

"But I like the idea of smaller blankets for the shelter animals. It might become their 'lovey' that they take to their forever home."--I like this idea.
I am so sorry for your family's losses.
