I wouldn't worry about skipping the onions. Can you use garlic, or perhaps leeks to add an extra layer of flavour missing from the absent onion?
It does look like it comes together quickly. You could prep some of it ahead.
It sounds really good. I think I'm going to give it a try.

I lived in San Francisco right near the People's Temple right before they moved to Guyana, and was there to see how devastated people were after the 18 Nov massacre. 9 days later mayor Harvey Milk was killed. It was a tough time to be a 13-14 year old girl in a big city, with big city things happening when I came from a town of 500 in rural OR and grew up without tv.

I think I'll give this a go as well.
Damn, I hate #4 on your list almost as much as I hate the asshat that caused you to put it there, but please look into it.

I am keeping you guys in my thoughts while you navigate this tricky situation. I will also send out vibes that your parents will step in with help.

So very sorry about your sil.
Hoping that the early diagnosis for your dh leads to an easier plan for kicking it to the curb.

I pretty much still look just as I do in my avatar, so I see no reason to change it.

Laundry is my jam!
However, I sucked at it while in England for a month. You have to really plan out your laundry over there, as our instant gratification here is not what goes down over there 👿 it's definitely glitchier. I now know better, and can pack and plan accordingly.
I tolerate the rest of the chores to the extent that it's not a dreadful mess in here. But don't look closely where dusting is suppose to happen.

I saw some great ones when I was in London. Especially in advertising.
One of our favorites was not punny, but funny and a bit too eyebrow raising for them to branch out to America. Fuckoffee - Come Happy, Leave Edgy!

Hard candies in a flavour she likes, but isn't her favorite. Biotene products for dry mouth symptoms. Something small and silly that reminds her of you guys as kids. Perhaps a small stuffy that looks like your dog growing up.
I am so sorry she has been stricken, I will keep her safely in my thoughts.

I don't like the compression ones because you have to keep compressing it every time you remove something.
If I am moving every few days, I tend to organize by outfit. Otherwise I have all shirts together, all unders together etc. I also have a cube that has my pyjamas, and my bag of things I like next to my bed.

Thanks for the memory! I loved Pink Junk as a kid. I always wished for more crust, I wish my mom had thought to go up the sides.
I'm sure the Queen is looking down and getting a giggle over you sharing her recipes. 😁 I hope your Christmas was peaceful, warm and bright. And may your New Year ring in with your heart resolute, a spring in your step, and many happy hours paper crafting.

We did well gift wise here. Last year dh blew it, this year he made amends with cashmere sweaters! Ds got me a set of geodes to bust open. Definitely wins in my book. Dh got new bike shorts, something for his truck, and sport gels for biking. Ds got Lego!
Our fail happened on Christmas Eve, when dh got a bee in his bonnet to make pizza from scratch rather last minute. Holy fuckoly! The mess he made was unconscionable. I ended up staying up until 2am deep cleaning the oven and stove top to say nothing of everything that needed to be wiped down due to sauce being everywhere. The number of dishes he used was nuts. Thankfully the pizza was really good, or I would have just left. And luckily there was enough leftovers for Christmas dinner as I was not about to cook anything after having to do the clean up.
I really wanted to just walk away from it all, but him cleaning the mess would have made the situation far worse. I did make him sit down on Christmas morning so I could detail out every fucked up thing he had done the previous night, and we are good!
ETA I bought a book for ds, The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse, that dh immediately picked up and read. He got misty eyed and said he wished someone had purchased that for him when he was young. Later ds came to me to tell me how much he appreciated what I wrote in the book.
