Hi, I'm thinking about getting a Cricut (not sure if I want to get the Explore Air 2 or Explore 3 yet) and was hoping to get some input from more experienced Cricut crafters. I am tempted to buy the Cricut because I feel like it would be very useful to be able to cut things out and customize stuff for my daughter's school projects and supplies. I would also like to explore making things like stickers with her. It feels a bit wasteful to only get the cricut for that purpose, so I thought about other nice-to-haves. It would be useful to customize some sentiments for my cards by having the cricut write them out for me. I also make felt flowers using dies and it would be amazing to be able to scan those dies so I can cut the (100% wool) felt using the cricut instead... Is that even possible? Other than that, I don't think I'll be using very much vinyl at this point, but never say never Some of the concerns I have about cutting cardstock with the cricut is that all the videos I've watched seem to show people always starting off with a fresh sheet of cardstock. That seems incredibly wasteful... Can't you use scraps of cardstock to cut things out? Secondly, I am wondering about the cost of materials like the sticky mat, blades and pens. I'm in Canada where things are already more expensive, so I want to be mindful of alternatives. Thirdly, I would also like to be able to make signs etc in Urdu and Arabic. How difficult is that to configure in Design Space? I've only just started researching this so would love to hear actual feedback from users too. If you could recommend a particular Cricut (or other brand) machine to me, keeping in mind all the information I have listed above, which one would it be? Thank you in advance for your time and help! Good Morning! It is possible to cut many different things with the maker (which is the model I chose) but I am not 100% sure about the Explore. You would just need to double check but I believe it can, and uses a fabric blade/mat. There are a few different ways to use scraps of paper (or vinyl or fabric) so it is possible to use your scraps. I do use cricut mats and blades but I have seen great reviews of other brands/products. I have not used mine for writing but besides cricut pens, some pens fit and you can also purchase adapters for the pen slots. Design space is very easy to use. Forgive my ignorance regarding the language, but if they use an alphabet that is like English, you would just use whatever font you like and type what you want it to say. If it uses special characters you may need to find a Urdu or Arabic font/alpha to use. You can bring in any font on your computer. I chose cricut because I felt like there were a lot of tutorials/help on youtube and seemed the easiest for me to learn how to use. That said, I see other people say they feel limited and prefer a different machine (scan and cut or silhouette) I have/use/love my big shot, but I do think I save money by having the Cricut because SVG are less expensive than metal dies, and are so customizable. I also do not have to worry about storing dies. HTH

The $5.00 class is a steal! There were several digital files in that class that I didn’t already have. I highly recommend it, just for the digital supplies! i agree with that 100%-tons of included digitals, some are older WITL, some are previous story kit digitals and some are new items. I have watched the first two lessons and 1/2 of the zoom so far. I have less "anxiety" about this project already. I did not really have a plan and was feeling some stress because I wanted to do the week that the community is doing it. I also did not purchase any of the kits and was wondering if that was the right choice for me. I have a plan now after watching some of the videos and am glad I did not buy the kit. If you like Ali's digitals and/or her class instruction and/or her teams instruction (the zoom at least has a lot of people offering their ideas/tips) then you will get your $$$ worth I think.

Scrapbooks.com has them as well as their brand. Their brand is actually my fave over WeR and they are a little cheaper.

When i first cut the cord I went w/ Hulu Live and had a good experience. I wanted to "cut" further, and had one of the old fashioned antennas placed on my home. I live rurally and am quite a ways away. I get more than 70 channels w/ that thing. (for the record the indoor antennas did not wok for me at all). I added a tablo for DVR and I now have local channels free, as God intended lol.
I cut Hulu live at that point and now rotate between a few other services. I keep Philo on all the time and Netflix also. I have Prime due to having Amazon Prime. I have a couple that are Verizon benefits. I also love many of the free apps and am constantly checking those out as well.
If you have streaming and a library card, check with your library for their digital offerings.

Even though I don’t want this month’s alpha stamp I really like how there will be new ones each month to add to subscriber’s boxes. I also noticed that wooden alpha can be added for $5. Guess that one didn’t go over well. I actually really like that stamp. I got it during a 50 percent off sale, but 5 dollars is even better!

I have been using it for a couple years. I have not invested the time necessary to love it, but I do like it and everything I have done so far. Shakti its free for 30 days , but after the 30 days you will not be able to add new items (you keep access to what you have already entered though). For the premium subscription there is a monthly fee of 1.49 or 14.99 annual.

I'm very anti-clutter in my house but my garage is just so cluttered! There's room to fit my car in, but there's so much other stuff. I have boxes that I hauled down 5 years ago from my storage unit with my Ex and he didn't want anything so they all came my way. Since I hate clutter in the house, I've just left the stuff in boxes because I don't want to bring more into my place. Every weekend I say I'm going to tackle the garage and I don't do it because it seems so overwhelming. It's going to get hot soon in Tx and I know I won't do it then so another year will pass by with a very cluttered garage. Ugh. Can you commit to going through one box this week? Then, next week do another box. You can bring the weekly box in the house when it gets too hot. I promise, once you start, it will get easier. Just start with that one box. Same here. I have some physical limitations, as well as decision fatigue. I have had to make realistic expectations for myself. I remind myself that I did not get all.this.stuff in one day, so I am not going to be able to get rid of it all in one day either. One box, one bag at a time. I am off work next week and I set up the next 5 totes I am going through plus one tote each for trash, donate, sell and I am ready to go for next week. (fun vacation huh? lol)

I rarely do in my paper scrapping. Mostly because I don't scrap in the moment so the context in that sense is already gone. However I have started my own version of PL/Photo 365 using the PL app. I do 3 LOs with a photo a day plus I have 5 additional filler pages for the month: large photo month title page, current events/memes page, currently reading, currently watching and this year I added a senses pages that highlights the taste, smells, sights, sounds and feels of the month. I use screenshots and download photos from the internet. Using the app makes it super easy, and I have a template that I use for each page for the whole year. I have chosen a kit and just change the filler cards for each month. This year I'm going with a specific color for each month with in the kit I chose. Last year was the first year I did this, I printed individual pages and will add my regular LOs (eventually) to the proper month. This year I'm going to print a photo book. My regular LO will be in their own album. I absolutely love this! I love the PL app and think I am going to add something like this into my process! I have been adding in a lot of screenshots to a monthly insert, in my chronological album. I have included some screenshots of news events and memes etc. By nature I am an everyday moments scrapbooker so these things fit in well. I tend to chose news stories that I have an opinion about. I would love to know what my grandparents thoughts were during various elections or any world events that had some impact on their lives. I did do a covid19 TN.

I only ordered stamps and had to pay for shipping (seems like they need to change the verbiage on their website because clear stamps do not "always ship free"). I started a convo but got the "nothing from the sale ships free" response. It was part of the sale exclusions, totally understood, but thought I'd ask anyway. I have found that full price stamps ship free and sale stamps do not (in my experience) Lisa

I really love it for the bone in skin on thighs too.
I meal prep a lot, and use mine to roast veggies.
I want to use it more so I am always on the search for it things I can do with it.
I love to reheat pizza in it, and make pizzas from naan bread
I love to make bacon wrapped hot dogs in it.
If I think of more I will come back and edit.

The Kraft 6x8 Documenting Pages sold out in minutes as well. Weird. I was getting the digital anyway because of Ali's IG story saying they were offering them in a clear, white and kraft option for versatility so I can use them on a variety of papers. But, I found it funny that those pages sold out so fast. Thanks for that- I missed out on them and was hoping for digital. Excitd it will have the other options.

So I will be the weirdo here lol.
I like the peach album. I like the 10x8 size so I hope it sticks around, but I don't love the stars album. I may use one of last years albums for this project, or I might use the 6x8 peach album, not sure yet. I used to do the project right in my normal 8.5x11 album and have been thinking about going back to that too- so totally undecided. I normally buy the main kit but this is the second year in a row that I am not. I used the digital kit last year to make hybrid pages, so I might look into that this year. The only thing I like from the main kit are the kraft pockets. I am going to try to recreate them w/ some kraft cardstock and some of the stamps that I already own. I like the idea of a highlights page so I am going to create that in whatever size I chose to use. I like some, but not most of the mornings/evenings kit so I think I am going to recreate some of the pieces I like from that kit too. I love the kraft documenting pages and hope that the digital ones will translate well to something I can use over and over again. I plan to buy the physical ones also. I will probably buy duplicates of the alpha stickers- I love the font and hoard them in the other colors so... I do love all of the stamps so I will probably get all of those-I need to double check that I don't have a numbers set that is similar.

I agree. I complained a lot and was not charged. It was a huge hassle to go to the PO to pick it up though. I now have a new carrier and have resumed my normal delivery, but I did have a PO box for 2-3 years I think

I ended up having to get a PO box. I was not happy even with that but it was better than smoky mail. I have a rural route and they drive personal vehicles.
