This is so unbelievable. The things that DNA testing can do these days is amazing.
I remember this case SO well. I was a young mom with an 18 month old when this happened not far from where I live. This case had a HUGE impact on how I parented. I know I was way more vigilant/over protective than I might have been if not for this disturbing case.
*Warning, before clicking on this link, know that it is a disturbing story about
a 9 year old little girl who was abducted less than a block from her home when she got off the school bus.
. Does everyone have that *one* horrific case that changed their parenting forever? Luckily, I don't.

I like his singing, but he is no Freddie Mercury. I can't even wrap my head around the comparison.

Is your degree a bachelors? Could you sub in a school building? Proctor tests? Home Depot or Lowes in their kitchen design department Yeah, it's a Bachelors. I don't remember the requirements for subbing - I need to look them up . Lowe's might be an option. I'd need to do some refreshing of standards and stuff. Thanks.

Sansa and Tyrion....Theon....Jorah and Dany (although she pissed me off to no end)......

Mixed feelings, but I was crying at the end. The music playing was really beautiful. Sansa and Tyrion looking at each other and him kissing her hand is what set me off first . Then Jorah, then Theon... but did the other dragon die too? Was anyone else wondering if Aunt Lyanna would make an appearance in the crypt . Omg. The episode ended and my 15 year old was attempting to play the song. I put the dog out and take a shower - he's got the new piano portion figured out. "I recorded it bc it sounded cool. Wasn't that hard to do, Mom."

I am. There's a local kid - one of my homeschoolers!! - that has made it to Hollywood. **Angie**, are you talking about Cody? I met him last year and was quite impressed for him. I don’t follow AI and did not realize he was even auditioning until he made it through. Do you know when his Hollywood episode airs? Sorry, just saw this. His part never aired. He didn't make it past Hollywood Week. I think that AI should show snippets of everyone that makes it to Hollywood Week. They used to, but now all you see of the ones cut are those that had the biggest tears.

I love it and hate it. I think it is incredibly well-written and so very true. If it weren't for the brief dry humor and the scenes with Harriet Jones, I wouldn't be able to watch it.

That house has a lot of odd corners inside, like in the bathroom and entry where they've installed a fireplace. But my guess for picture #14 is that's where the ghost of the person they bricked in (photo #20) lives. I was trying to forget that picture.

Man cave? That house is...ummm...interesting. The purple fireplace had me scratching my head. But for 135,000 I could probably live with it...if it was near me. In which case it would cost twice that I assume The fireplace! They put some serious effort into the decorating bits.

Ah, house hunting...so many highs and lows. So many opportunities to say "what the Everlasting hell is THAT?!?" Take this one for example. Low price for this area, just means we'd have a nice budget to update things. Good bones, all working fireplaces. The tub is a bit freaky, but again, update it. But, what the hell is picture #14?? I seriously cannot figure it out. www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/32-East-St_Westover_WV_26501_M48444-42701#photo0

I just purged a lot of my scrapbook supplies - gave them to a local Girl Scout troop. They were thrilled! I, too, keep a box of cross-stitch supplies. There are several unfinished projects in there and I always think SOMEDAY I'm going to find time to finish them. Yeah, right... Didja know there are fb groups where people take your wips, finish them, and return them? I did it for someone once.

It's all well and good to suggest that she offers less money so she can fix the road, or fix it herself, but that isn't going to fix these problems: Ugh, sounds awful! I'm sorry that it didn't work out **Angie**, it really did sound like the perfect house on paper. these things come with the territory when you buy a large property in the middle of the woods, in my experience. The funny thing is that it is right outside of city limits, in one of the most expensive areas. I knew going in that it wouldn't actually be perfect, but I was really surprised that those properties were that nasty.

This picture is a few years old. The green in the middle is the property we were looking at. The north and east is the forest. Directly south is now a muddy junkyard. The collection of buildings to the southeast are abandoned trailers and trash. The first section of the private drive (coming off of the main road) is really steep and a sharp incline. When we pulled in, the front of my dh's jeep (which has a liftkit) scraped. The ruts were so deep, I could have gotten out without stepping down.

Well I would go in at $5,000 below appraised value. You will need that five grand to fix your driveway. The funny thing about places that look like dumps, is they eventually get cleaned up. We turned our noses up at a few properties because the dump next door and now those properties are extremely valuable. I could kick my self. Dh priced it out. If we got permission from the other owners because it's a shared road, it would cost between $10,000-15,000 to make it driveable. We went up it in a jeep that dh takes off roading and I was sure we were gonna get stuck.

Well, it is the perfect house. Perfect acre of land with a vegetable garden, a moveable chicken coop, a flock of free range chickens, flower gardens, and adorable seating areas tucked into the trees and bushes that edge the property. It made my heart thump and I could picture old fashioned lawn parties with tea and finger sandwiches.
But.....
To get to it, I would need to buy a four wheel drive with a high ground clearance. We wpuldnt be able to get two of our vehicles more than 10ft from the main road. The "road" is little more than a drunk cow path. It isn't a private drive so I'd have to deal with the neighbors. Speaking of the neighbors....
To one side of the property is pine forest owned by the state. No problem there. The other sides look like a post apocalypse wasteland. Deep muddy areas. At least one abandoned (I really hope so!) trailer from the 70's. What looked to be an unlicensed dump. A kennel with a multitude of dogs. Piles of metallic things. No houses to be seen.
The property is land-locked so you have to drive right through it all. I've never been so grossed out by my surroundings. The house is listed at $50,000 over appraise value and we would have paid the asking price. If it didn't look like a playground in the middle of a landfill, that is....

Dh actually likes it, it's in our price range, it has the high speed Internet we have to have, and it meets dh's criteria.
It's a ten year old Cape Cod on an acre of land, they have free range chickens and call it a hobby farm. I just sent them a message (its fsbo).
If we like it, this will actually be the perfect house. DH will have space to putter, ds and dh will have the Internet they need, and I'll be able to put my dreams of running a homeschool resource center into reality.
Fingers crossed!!!!!!

My new gp asked the same - she said it was to make sure the information I had given her was correct and to help if I needed to change meds later on.
She actually called me and said that a medication I took yers ago could be the cause of a current problem. If she didn't have that access, I wouldn't have thought to mention that medication to her.

My parents sort of did when I was younger. My mil will pick my fil up to eat holiday dinners (they are divorced, he's in a home).
I told my dh that if we ever get divorced, that's it. Damned if I'm gonna spend time with someone I can't live with.

My kid is a hard core gamer and we stream almost everything. Plus my dh sometimes has to work at home. We have to have high speed internet.
We currently have Xfinity cable and internet. DH found a house he likes, but it has Atlantic Broadband. That and Frontier are the only options.
Does anyone have experience with Atlantic?

OMG I totally forgot about FB Flair.. Yeah I loved it.. don't know why... My DD just brought something up.. she said the other day, remember when you used to play Farmtown (was that the name?) all the time? Plowing fields and building houses.. I LOVED that.. I would watch tutorials on how to build stuff. I don't even know if it is around.. You could hire people or be hired to make money. Edited to add.. Now I sound old.. I don't remember bumper stickers... Farm town is still around. It is freakin' huge, but still not an app so I can only play it on my pc

Ah, Delegate Porterfield. He's a piece of work - some of his former classmates have come out with stories of how he would bully them. And he's not just homophobic, his racism is what caused his blindness. Story is that he called a guy in Chicago a "f@#$ing n!##@r" and he got his ass kicked. I've also heard that someone tried to slit his throat - supposedly you can see the scar. A veteran (female poc) has registered to run against him in the next election. We were hoping he'd have a stroke over the news....

It sounds more like a financial disconnect. You have big dreams and want to make a major purchase and he is not ready for the financial commitment. Maybe have an honest talk about finances with him. If things are well financially it might help him realize that these big plans (new house, buying a building, a new RV)are doable. He's the money guy, and is the one to come up with these ideas. He just changes his mind soooooooo much.

Are you married to my dh? And tommygirl , we are financially able. I’m actually the one who worries about money. But sometimes your life becomes so routine you just need something to look forward to instead of another day of work or laundry This completely. We just sold our final rental property (never again!!) and have enough for a nice downpayment on a house.
