I would have said something about my daughter talking about twerking. Of course then they would have given her the look!

I just wanted to say that I really appreciate everyone's help. I just have a second to skim your posts, but I've already gotten some ideas.

groceries WITHOUT couponing??? Or wasting gas money driving to a bunch of stores around town....
Dh may be losing his job in January and I want to figure out how to stretch our grocery budget now. I'd like to be able to buy the supplies for our meals and possibly a few items each week to store. I'd really like to be able to make full meals that we can just freeze and use later.
I spend about $150 each week on groceries (3 people, supplies for 5-6 dinners, 5-6 breakfasts, snacks, cat and dog food, cat litter). Dh is a meat-and-potatoes guy, ds would never eat a vegetable if he could help it. Ds hates tomato-based sauces.
I usually shop at WalMart for boxed and canned goods, Giant Eagle for meat and fresh veggies/fruits. I go to one and stop on the way home at the other. I'd rather not have to drive an extra 15-20 minutes one way to hit any other places.
And then, what should I start to stock up on?
Would it be worth looking up one of the stock-piling blogs (not the end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it even if it feels like it ones, kwim?) and start following their directions?

Not iTunes!
I need one stinkin' song (Green Day's Pulling Teeth) and already bought it on my Android tablet. Now, I need the song on cd so ds' drum teacher can hear it.
I can't figure out how to get it from my tablet to a cd, so I figured it would be easier to just buy it and burn to a cd. BUT, the only *safe* website allowing paypal I've found is iTunes.

Get him to lie on a large long piece of paper, draw around his frame and get him to "dress" himself in seasonal clothes... Would be interesting to see how big he gets in a year! ... I am assuming your son is young. My 16yo DD is homeschooling. I can imagine how it would go if I asked her to do this! My son and his friends would probably love to do this, as long as they get to decorate someone else's person. Lol

Thanks for the suggestions! He's eleven and wanting something a bit more challenging this year. I love the canvas with alternating colors idea. I was also thinking of taping off the season name on canvas and then removing it after he applies the paint.

Ds and I started doing seasonal art projects when we started homeschooling. I take a base item and make four copies. Then, on the first day of the new season, ds alters/decorates the item in typical colors.
For example, last year I printed out a bare tree. Summer was tiny balls of green and red tissue paper for leaves and apples. Fall was leaf die cuts. Winter was deconstructed cotton balls for snow. Spring was paint dabbed on using a percil eraser. Another year, he did faux stained glass using stamp ink and puffy paint on clear binder dividers.
Anyway, I just realized I don't have an idea for this year. Help please!

The cartridges probably dried out. If you clean the print heads (Q-Tip dipped in >90% alcohol), allow them to dry and replace the cartridges, it may have been fine. Dirty print heads can be problematic. Oh Becky, I wish it was that easy. lol
It's all been cleaned and dried and replaced (after I read your comment). It then said "cartridge error". I take the cartridge out (new one put in last week), replace it, and hit "ok" when it says to load paper and align. Then, it looks fine - no messages or anything. I tried to print two pages and it started to print then stopped and just said "printing" on the printer screen. I went through and cancelled the job, cleared the screen, unplugged/replugged/restarted everything.
The printer kicks on and prints the missing page of something I tried to print three days ago.
I give up. lol

I don't need any faxing, and I completely forgot about the scanner!
I think I'm going to have to get something tomorrow. It was in power-saving mode, and all of a sudden started to print one solid sheet of black. It took me a minute to figure out what the sound was and by the time I made it to the printer, there was an inch and a half of solid black.

I have a Lexmark 5650. It was unplugged for a month while we were moving, and ever since then it's been a pain in the butt. Cartridge error messages, having to restart my computer to print something, and now it only prints every other page. We've deleted everything, reloaded the program, installed updated drivers - it doesn't help.
I don't print as much as I used to (50-100 sheets per month) but it needs to print "professional"-looking, kwim? I've had printers where it just looked cheap, no matter the settings. 8.5x11, b/w and color.
Any suggestions? I guess we paid about $150 for this one. I'd rather not go that high, but if I have to spend a bit more initially and less on ink, that would work.

This is MaxYouFuck er: I can't decide if he's being oh so cute, or ready to eat my face. Penelope has this weird look she gives and we call her our little serial killer. He's a beagle, right? That the "I hate you for not feeding me right this very second. Can you see how starved I am? I'm wasting away here, servant." face. My beagle has perfected that look, and I swear, she can produce that tear stain beside her eye on command.

I also have a friend that is downsizing to a townhouse, so I am going to transfer a photo of her current house onto linen, and using my silk embroidery ribbons to embroider her garden. Hopefully that will be done in time to be her Christmas present (fingers crossed!) I LOVE!!!!! this idea!

Well, I'm shocked. The mom of one of ds' friends is on there for "sexual abuse of a male (adult)". I've never met the woman, nor has ds ever gone to that house, but whoa!

next week. We are staying halfway between Myrtle and Wilmington, and I'd rather not go to Myrtle this year. We are going to the Battleship, ds wants mini golf, dh just wants something ds won't be cranky at.
I laugh because ds is a moody 11year old on his best days.....

Did you talk to the butcher before you had it processed? I always talk to the butcher and tell them how I want it processed so I get what I want. We've had beef butchered for years and never once has the butcher not asked what cuts we want. You said your in-laws bought part - did they talk to the butcher either? Did they get the same cuts?

I've been stuck on 181 for months now. It's to the point that I want to pay one of my friends that has passed it to log on and do it for me. I hate this damn game but just can't delete it.

Haven't read all of the replies....
My thoughts are if it's THAT important to her, let her wear them! It's a pair of shoes, not a pair of shorts with the butt hanging open. If the school has a problem with it, let them tell her.
