Like most any collection, there are some papers I would use, and might purchase. It's pretty rare that a collection comes out that I *must* have every bit. But I totally agree with Sarahbee in the fact that the vintage vibe and modern phrases and fonts don't click for me.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! There's a floor and decor not too far from me and i had planned on going this weekend. I'm glad I have some specific things to look for, instead of just wandering around. I have a good idea of the style and finish I'd like, just not the material or construction. Thanks for giving me a new starting point!

We are finally going to replace the nasty carpet in our living room, dining room ( who DOES that?!) and staircase! My dream is to have the entire first floor ( which would include foyer, kitchen, a small hallway and guest bathroom) all the same flooring throughout. We want a wood look, but nothing I've seen so far, I trust in a kitchen. I wouldn't mind the wood look tile in the kitchen, but don't want that for the whole house, and besides, how would you cover the stairs in tile!?
UGH so many choices and none that I've found are exactly what I want - wood style (probably not solid wood, don't want to mess with sanding and refinishing) sturdy and tough as crap for high wear and tear, a dog, and two boys, tougher than water and food spills in the kitchen, and not tile.
Is there such a beast?

DUDE, I like the fly paper! It's the ANTI-"best-day-ever" paper!!! Think about it....page titles could include, "Well, this just stinks"....."Crappy day"...."Something stinks"...."Ain't no flies on_____" (that's something my dad used to say!) Heck, I want it just for that paper alone!

I had bloodwork done recently and was told I should start taking vitamins, mainly low on vit D. A few years ago I was taking a women's daily pack, it had a few different things in it, one was a fish oil capsule for the omega 3's. I can't find the brand I used to take. Anyone have a multivitamin or pack they'd recommend? Holy crap there are about a gazillion choices out there right now!

Dude..... I am in love with Maggie Holmes.....one of her first collections is what got me back into scrapbooking after a couple of years long dry spell.
But DANG. Horses. Bows. Pink. Ribbons. Swans. and there's a few patterns that I swear have been in every single CP collection since the beginning. The B side of the "Festival" paper....it's in poolside, journey, Oasis, and Gather off the top of my head. In the beginning, I loved that each collection could work together with the others, but Man, it's really getting to be too much for me, and Crate has been one of my all time favorite Brands. I know she has a daughter, but seriously, even if you could design your own private collections, how many horses and award ribbons and bows and swans can you use?
I do appreciate and am happy with the new line, she did break out of her tradition a bit with the carousel and kites, so I do feel like a jerk for calling out all the other repeats. And I understand designers wanting a signature look, and that some icons like cameras are universal and versatile. But the swans and horses always make me wonder!

Right now I do have a tablescape with silver and Mercury glass. I made a table runner out of burlap but I haven't decided what to machine embroider it with yet. I live alone so no kids or husband to spoil my decor. This sounds beautiful! I love both burlap and mercury glass. I don't have my home decorated in any specific theme, it's pretty casual and eclectic. If Pottery Barn, a family photo album, an antique store and an old beach house had a baby, I'd be livin' in it! Our main dining table is in the kitchen - it's a big room with an island, but the dining table is big (60x60) and our actual "dining room" is stupid tiny...at one time we had a small antique sideboard, and a round table with four chairs in there....and it was....cozy. So we ended up selling that table and it's currently only got a bookshelf and the sideboard in there. We used it as a sitting room for awhile. May go back to that, but whatever, nothing to do with the main topic! I'd love to keep the table set with dishes, but A) they would probably be dusty before we actually used them, and B) one of my sons or DH wouldn't notice and toss the transmission onto them! The table is situated between the garage door and the door to the patio/yard. It's always dusty and the chair legs get freaking cobwebs all the time. GUUUHHHH

what's everyone have on their dining table? I want to jazz it up, it's boring as crap right now! I've looked on pinterest but I don't want an over the top tablescape for a party on my table for just day to day. Do yall leave your table set? Or partially? Our dining table is right by the door leading from the garage, so if I don't at least have placemats on the table, it ends up being the catch-all place for car clean-outs, project tools that don't quite make it to their original spot, backpacks, etc etc.
So, what decor do you have on your dining table for every day?

Do yall get as overwhelmed with all this as I do? SO. MANY. OPTIONS. Vitamins, acids, retinols, etc..... This thread reminded me of a website, I want to say it was Oil of Olay but I checked their site and can't find what I'm thinking of. Anyway, it's like a skin quiz...you answer several questions about your skin type and what issues you want to work on - acne, dark spots, wrinkles, dry skin, etc. and it will "customize" a skin care routine for you, of course using all their products, but still, it would be very useful to see what they recommend, then find comparable products in your desired brand. Does anyone know of such a beast in existence these days? I don't want to go to a makeup counter in the mall or a big store, as whatever brand they are pushing will OF COURSE be the exact thing my skin has always needed, and I don't want the pressure ( or having to talk to a 20 year old about my crows feet and her just, "like, totally getting where I'm coming from, grrrllll!" Edit: well I just found it, it's on the Loreal website! But in searching, came across approximately a quarter of a gazillion others that I may try. Off to the rabbit hole I go....check on me in a little while...if I don't come back, send help!

I subscribed to Cocoa Daisy last year....I LOVED it!! Cute exclusive papers and extras, EXCELLENT customer service, and a great variety of products in each kit. I stopped for financial reasons, but every once in awhile, I take a look at the kits and drool. Please share pictures of yours and your friend's kits as they come in, I'm not familiar with Paper Wishes.
Have fun, you will LOVE the CD kits!!

Thanks for the support, y'all....and the great advice. I think I will scan the last pictures, mainly as as safety net for me, so I can get these last pages done. They aren't the most important pictures in the entire album, but maybe I'm getting more emotional about finishing this project than I thought I was...reading over this thread this morning, my eyes welled up with tears. Y'all are so kind. I miss my Dad. 😔

Good point, msliz....I just can't get over how long I'm dragging out these last few pages! If ever I've had "perfection paralyzation" it's with these pages. They "HAVE TO" live up to the rest of the album, and the story as a whole. It's getting a bit silly, really. I probably should just put these last few away and approach them another time, but if now now, when? I'll probably have the same problem, with more anxiety on top of it, knowing I bailed a second time! Ha....who knew scrapbooking would bring out so much ridiculous phobias and hang ups!

I've been working on a vacation album that was about 75% complete when I stopped working on it. It was a vacation DH and my kids and I took to visit my Dad while he was living in Hawaii. While I was working on this album, my father was diagnosed with cancer and passed away 5 months later. That was 3 years ago, and I'm now in a place that I can work on it again.
I LOVE what I've done with it so far. Not very many pages are 100% complete, as I just wanted to get them on pages and in the album so my Dad could see them and I could write down his perspective of the trip. So I have about 5 single pages left to build from scratch, and about 25 to finish in some way- journaling, embellish, etc. These last few pages to put together are taking FOR-FREAKING-EVER!!!! Seriously. Like more than a day per page. I want them to flow and have the same style and vibe as the rest of the album, and they mean so much more to me than when I began this project. I know these are the last vacation photos I'll ever have of my Dad and my family. But seriously. If it took me this long to do EVERY page I'll ever make, I'll never get near the photos scrapped that I have a story for! I'm trying to give myself a break, as these pictures and this album are so precious to me, and I know I need to just enjoy the process, but GEEZ already, the process is dragging on and I don't know how to speed my a$$ up! The photos were taken pre-digital camera so I can't screw these up, I can't just print another one and try again. The negatives are long gone.
The page I just finished, I freaking LOVE....I made some surfboards and sand, and tucked the photos into the layers of sand....not much into paper piecing these days but like I said, it fits with the feel of the rest of the album. Off and on, it took me 3 DAYS. THREE. DAYS.
UGH. Back to it....working on a one photo page of my son....for the 5th hour now, I'd guess. No real reason for this message, just a vent!

Hey guys! We've been out of town and I just got home!
Man, y'all have shared some awesome ideas! The photos are from a trip to Hawaii to visit my dad, in 2002, before my first digital camera, so what I've got is what I've got, no reprinting options for me, as I've lost the negatives. ☹️ I can't wait to get back to my desk and play with some of the ideas y'all have given me, and I'll try to post the result!
Thanks again for sharing your pages and hunting down examples for me... more ideas than I had even hoped for💕😊

I should have bought more!! The scrapper's anthem! I can't name a specific collection, but I always loved, loved, loved anything Basic Grey. I am so sad and disappointed that so many companies have merged with AC. There is too much sameness. Oh you reminded me of another huge favorite of mine...Basic Grey Spice Market! Oh how I miss Basic Grey...

From pinterest (there are mini pictures here, but you get the idea -- one set is horizontal and one is vertical) I really like this one, but not for this particular layout.. I really want the pictures to be really close together, ya know? I'll just have to play some more, poor me! Thanks for sharing this one, I'll definitely keep in in mind for other pages!

Make a block of paper, then add some type of card/paper that evens out the measurements. Does that make sense? I can't post links, because I'm about to start driving g, but if you look on Glitter Girl's YouTube channel, she has a few LO's like that, too. Oh woman, do I ever know what you mean....that's the go-to arrangement that I'm trying to get away from! LOL!!! I'm a huge GG fan - have seen all of her videos, and taken most of Shimelle's classes. Love her teaching style.

I think the easier question would be "what are you NOT buying like crazy right now?" 😳😳 Ugh....THIS. I go through stages...over the years, I've noticed my pattern, that I buy the majority of my scrapbook stuff in the spring....I live on the gulf coast so I always have beach and summer pictures to work on, and the yellows, pinks, oranges, and all the aquas and other blues!! SWOON!!!! So, it's the usual for me....summer lines, and colors.....sigh....luckily there's not really an autumn in Texas, but if there were, I'd find a way to put turquoise and yellow on the pages.

What are you buying or using like crazy right now? What are you hoarding? I don't know about y'all but I go through stages with things. I just went through a sequins stage where I was buying/hoarding and using them up like crazy. Then it was stencils and templates for a little mixed media. Now I am all about woodgrain. I am all about buying every.single.piece of 12X12 woodgrain paper (or putting it on my wishlists) I can find. I am super excited about the Simple Stories woodgrain that is coming out but will have to wait for a good coupon! What about y'all? Crystal, I could have written this response! So wierd! I want to make some shaker cards for some birthdays coming up, so I've been buying sequins and the like, and for some reason I've wanted to try my hand at using messy stuff with stencils, but I don't have any. I have a silhouette so every time I pick one up at HL or put one in my cart, I think that I can make it, so I can spend the $ on something else, Ha! And i just finished a page I had started a couple of years ago ( actually it's an entire album project....a vacation we took with my Dad, and he passed away while I was working on the album...I had to put it away til it was easy for me to work on it again) and the page I was working on had thin strips of dark woodgrain paper on it...and I started looking for more since it went really well with beach pictures, which I have a ton of. SO FUNNY!!

I've started working on a vacation album I had never finished, and had kept my own little "kit" of papers and embellishments with it so the last few pages would be cohesive with the rest of the album, even though I started it a few years ago. The majority of the papers I used were Basic Grey Konnichiwa, and Glitz Designs Uncharted Waters. Even though I started that album...holy crap....it was 2013!! I still freaking love these lines! I bought the crap out of Uncharted Waters, I used it for another vacation album, a cruise, mixed with coordinating papers from my stash. I still have probably 20 sheets of it....Favorite line EVER. We live on the gulf coast, my FIL has a sailboat, so the nautical motif is very useful. I love that it isn't the traditional red and royal blue of lots of nautical lines, I love that it has ocean and dreamy feeling motifs, it has my favorite colors to scrap with, navy, hot pink, and golden yellow, with kraft. Just a little distressing....and the nautical theme isn't in your face...just subtle anchors here and there, and ocean wave looking patterns. I wish it came with more embellishments, but those papers were my dream line! I've probably used 3 6x6 paper pads, 1 8x8 paper pad, and probably 20 sheets of this line over the years. I'll be sad when I'm done, but I think it's had a good run, and I'm not tired of it yet - I just pulled it back out to finish this project and was reminded of my love for it. So, do you have a collection or line that's been your all time favorite? A paper or a few that has found its way into dozens of various layouts? What made it your favorite? Is there a current line that you love? Tell me tell me tell me! For more current favorites, I'd have to say Shimelle's Starshine line. I love the fresh colors and clean look. Love the coral and blues, and while the space theme is not my thing, the rest of the papers and embellishments make me so happy. I'm probably on my way to it being my Uncharted Waters replacement, the way things are going...I find places to use pieces of it all over the place.

Age old problem, right? Working on a page with one portrait and one landscape 4x6. trimming one to 4x4 isn't an option, and I'm tired of the same couple of ways I do these types of pages. Can ya'll share your favorite pages or sketches with this combination, please? I need some new ideas! I've looked on pinterest of course, but would love to see what yall have done! Thanks so much! Ok yall have made me feel better about the number of photos I have on my phone! DH and I just upgraded our memory ( I wish that was a thing in real life....sigh...) so space isn't an issue, but I just get tired of scrolling through them all for the few I really do want to keep on my phone. I wish when you move them to a folder, it actually literally moves it, not just " is also located in this folder." I thought that would solve my problems, having different folders....one for kid pics, dog pics, screenshots, etc. Maybe it would work better if I were more dedicated to sorting them, then I'd ONLY have to look through the folders to find what I want. I'm just too lazy, I guess. So many ideas and options....thanks so much for sharing how yall do things! Cindy

google photos is the phoenix that has risen from the ashes of picasa, so check that out first. Steph has a great free class on it at www.modernphotosolutions.com But I think it really depends on if you will be satisfied with what google photos has to offer. For me (mainly because I still adore using my DSLR to photograph my life) I feel I need Lightroom to really address my photo needs. But I do think for many people out there google photos will be more than adequate. Thanks for this! I will definitely check it out. I do like to tweek my photos and as someone else mentioned, I have a teenager.... I just didn't have the patience to work with PSE enough to get to a point that I got over the learning curve and my stubborn-ness! Is Lightroom very different from PSE? A few years ago I did a bit of research and decided on an editing program, but DH surprised me and bought PSE for me.....that wasn't the one I had decided on.... I gave it a decent chance but, yeah.....and now I don't remember what I DID decide on! UGH....old age and all....

I know very little about Lightroom....is it easier than Photoshop Elements? That freaking thing had me so frustrated....it was not intuitive for me AT ALL and just gave up and went back to Picasa...then Picasa left me, but I was in denial til now. So, it's not ONLY editing, it is used for organization and storage as well? Hmmmm......please please tell me it's simpler than Elements!

Earlier I posted a question about photo organization software. What got me started is looking for some older pictures on my phone, and realizing not all of them have been moved from phone to computer. That made me curious, how often do you clean off your phone pictures, or do you just keep them all on there? Next question: right now, how many pictures are on your phone? I am embarrassed to admit my number..... but here it is.....including screen shots, I have exactly 3,670! I think the oldest picture I have on this phone is from January 4, 2016. I take pictures of junk at home I want to remember to buy at the store, things I see out and about that I want to try to make on my own, screen shots of scrapbooking youtube videos that have a technique/style/layout I want to try, small trips that I don't bring my DSLR, and more pictures of my dogs than of my two sons! I think my problem is that I don't trust my storage/filing system on the computer to have them all, so until I get that all sorted out, I don't want to delete anything off my phone unless it's no longer useful to me. So, please tell me I'm not the only one who has this ridiculous amount of pictures on my cell phone......

Ok, I have to confess, I still use Picasa. But lately it's been pissing me right off, I'll create an album, but then the pictures won't show up there. And I can't find the original folder they came from, because DH and I have two different labeling systems....actually, he has more than a few....)(*&$#&(^......anyway, it's to the point that I'm ready to accept that it's time to find something new. So what do yall use? What do you love about it, what do you hate about it? Any I should avoid? What should I look for? I'd love to have something similar to Picasa that has basic editing tools, nothing fancy. Very few of my photos do I want to get all crazy with. Can't wait to hear what everyone here uses and loves! Thanks so much, Cindy
