Good lord. As everyone has said that will just mean no one gets tested and will spread it around like crazy cakes. I imagine their vax rate is dismal there, too bad they don’t start institute vax requirements to enter any public space instead. Have you seen our miserable excuse for a governor? He won't mandate anything now; he's too afraid of offending anyone who may still support him. NOBODY supports him anymore. He pissed off the republicans last year when he went back on his word and allowed the legislature to change our state flag (HALLELUJAH!) and then all the push back from shutting down the state last summer. All he does is see how far he can stick his nose up Trump's ass.
And yes, our vaccine rates are probably the lowest in the country; Alabama might be lower but not by much. Our hospitals are overflowing. Our largest hospital in the state has had to set up two field units in the parking garage.
People won't get the vaccine, yet they're taking a livestock dewormer. Yes, a dewormer. for livestock.

Most of our schools are getting HVAC upgrades that include some kind of air purification product. The majority are using bipolar ionization. These upgrades are being paid for with COVID funds.

I got my booster yesterday (transplant recipient). How are you feeling? My mom got her booster Monday and she was sick as a dog yesterday. Fever, head and body aches... she couldn't get out of bed. And if my mama doesn't get out of bed you know she's sick!

I finished The People We Keep by Allison Larkin - a neglected teenager leaves home and the book follows her and the people she meets throughout her life. Though it doesn't have an exciting plot, I really enjoyed this story. I gave it a solid 4 stars. My current book is The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner. I'm just getting started but so far I'm loving it.
I'm very thankful for this thread - I get so many ideas from it each week. I usually have it open in one tab and Goodreads open in another so I can add titles to my Want to Read list.

The default is 15% so for $50 they added $7.50. However I just learned you can adjust the slider down to 1% — I was in a hurry and didn’t pay attention to that. You can adjust it to 0 if you want to.

I've had chronic bronchitis and exercise induced asthma. Mine started with a lung infection in Dec. 2019 (not Covid). My airways are now swollen and restricted. I've been on more rounds of prednisone than I can remember. Every inhaler my dr. gives me makes me lose my voice, even if I use a spacer with it. So now I don't use one. I take Singulair every day and for the most part I'm breathing well, except when I ride my bike in very hot, humid weather, which unfortunately is most of the time right now in Mississippi.

Update and I for added. Formula is $1973 a month. You have probably already done this, but just in case... Have you reached out to the manufacturer? I know many drug manufacturers have savings programs that deeply discount their products, some of mine I get with little to no copay. Maybe the formula manufacturer has something similar?
Good luck.

I have a lot of catching up to do here!
Where the Grass Is Green and the Girls Are Pretty by Lauren Weisberger - a college admissions scandal by the author of The Devil Wears Prada. I was underwhelmed. 3 stars
The Night Before by Wendy Walker - after reading the author's Don't Look for Me a few weeks ago I decided to give another of her works a go. The premise was good: Girl meets guy on an online dating site and never comes home after their first date. I didn't love it. 3 stars
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid - I had tried to read this once before and couldn't get into it. After reading a couple of Reid's books earlier this summer I picked it up again. I liked it. I really liked it. 4 stars
The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller - two lifelong 50 yo friends, each married, have sex one night and the aftermath (and past) unfolds. I enjoyed this book, especially the bits that took place in the past. I could've done without the too-descriptive sex scenes though. 4 stars
Survive the Night by Riley Sager - college girl in the '90s gets a ride home with a stranger from a ride-share board at school, but is he the campus serial killer? Riley Sager can be hit or miss for me, but he has never missed like this before. So unbelievable. It's like the old horror movies where you're yelling at the girl to not go in the basement when there's a perfectly good car on the other side of the door and she has the keys in her hand. 1 star
Falling by T.J. Newman - I enjoyed this one even if it was a bit farfetched at times. 4 stars
No Exit by Taylor Adams - this was a frustrating read! So many twists and turns and choices I wouldn't have made. 3.75 stars lol

I recently finished Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. Loved the first 2/3rds of the book but felt like the author was in a rush to wrap up the final 1/3. I started Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand last night. Pretty sure I am the last person on earth to ready this book. So far, I am really liking it! I had the same ratio of love for Pachinko. By the time I got to the last generation, I didn't care anymore.
And Unbroken is one of my favorites! I don't know if you've seen the movie, but it doesn't begin to touch the level of brutality the POWs experienced in the book. Such brave men..

I paid $38 for synthetic for my Crosstour. I just bought a new Passport so I don't know what it'll cost for it but I do know I'll only have to get it changed every 10,000 miles.

Mine was found on my yearly mammogram. It was very, very small and couldn't be felt. In fact, I thought it was an entirely different area until I saw where the ultrasound was focused. I had my mammogram and later that day my doctor called, said there was an area that looked suspicious and I needed to have an ultrasound. I went the next week for the US and while I was there, the tech had the radiologist look at my scans and then told me I needed a needle biopsy. They said since the radiologist was there I could have it done then, or come back later. I had them go ahead and do it then. I found out a couple of days later that it was cancer.
I've had to have a couple of ultrasounds before and they turned out to be nothing; I thought this one would be the same so I went by myself and in fact, I was so busy at work that I almost didn't go at all. I really wish I had taken someone with me. I was a mess after they told me I needed a biopsy and being there alone was not fun.
Sending you good juju and prayers!

My goodness, I've missed a lot on the goings-on of your life! Yay for you!!
I imagine AL is the same as MS - not many people are wearing masks. AL has recently claimed the last place spot from MS as the state with the least number of vaccinated citizens. I'm not sure where LA stands. Where in AL will you be? Hopefully close to the coast? They have beautiful beaches.

Also, the constant replaying of her vault. Not only are they ignoring the other girls' performances, but they are hyper-focusing on Simone's "failure," as she may see it.

I'm still having trouble understanding his motives. Like Alec Baldwin's character said - he's either the most incompetent surgeon or he's a sociopath. I'm still not sure which but the cocaine use definitely didn't help. Me too! Maybe I should listen to the podcast and it would clear things up for me. To me, it seemed as if he didn't know what he was doing at times and then at others it was like he was intentionally doing the wrong thing. Did he have any successful cases?

I can't believe how easy things are being spoiled this Olympics. I mean I can, but you know what I mean. My phone buzzed just before my alarm went off this morning and I looked at it and there was an alert about the gymnastic news. I remember the past few Olympics it seemed the news sources made some attempt to hide spoilers, now they're just wide open with everything.

Hoda was in the arena before and after and was watching Simone sitting and cheering after she pulled out. They are wait and see mode for the individual events on Thursday. Yeah, I was just confused about how the whole event is already over based on the reporting. But, maybe the broadcast is also delayed for me due to my time zone? Not sure. I think that's probably the case.

I switched to Arimidex about 3 months ago after being on Tamoxifen for a year. I was having problems with muscle weakness which was having a big impact on my cycling. I've seen an improvement with Arimidex and another plus is that I've lost 9 pounds! I couldn't lose any weight on Tamoxifen no matter how hard I tried. My hot flashes have also stopped; I don't know if that will be a permanent change but for now it's a welcome relief. I will have to take it for a total of 10 years so I have a little under 9 years to go. Thank you, this gives me hope that if I have to switch before my ten years is up, maybe it won't be that bad since I can tolerate the tamoxifen. Weight loss is really hard, I agree! I was an odd bird because I didn't know I had gone through menopause. I had my first round of chemo in Nov. 2019 and I never had a period after that. Up until then I had always been very regular, even at 51. My oncologist had to do some blood tests before she switched me to Arimidex and they showed I was post-menopausal. Surprise!

I did a google image search for this athlete just to make sure I wasn't missing something. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what she's wearing. And by comparison, I'd say some of the clothing worn by other track and field athletes is a bit more revealing. I don't have a problem with their clothing either. They're athletes; they need to wear what makes them comfortable and perform at their best.

Nothing. I'm in the rural suburbs and the closest stores are about 3 miles away, but the roads are not pedestrian friendly. I technically can ride my bike into our small community where there are gas stations, a couple of restaurants, the bike shop, etc. but to do it safely I have to go in the opposite direction first, down some back roads, and through some bushes to cut through a gated neighborhood, and even then there's a 1/4 mile stretch that's not really safe because of traffic.

Oh and another question Rhondito , I either use my phone(android) or my Kindle Fire. Do you use an app specifically for Scribd. I used Overdrive on both of my devices. And thank you for such a glowing review. ETA: ohhhh doh! I just scrolled and saw the app. I need to see if it is in the Amazon app store. I have an iPhone and they have a Scribd app that downloads both audio and e-books, but I only use the audio versions.

YES!! I've been using Scribd for a few years now and I LOVE it! There are very few books that I can't find there and I mostly look for newer fiction. Many times they have new releases, on release day. I highly recommend it!

Have you looked into getting grants? That would help some and wouldn't have to be paid back.
