So how is Elle's Studio pronounced? I had always assumed it was like the letter L but I've heard people say Ellie, so now I'm not sure. (sorry if it is already addressed in thread and I missed it). Not like the letter. It is like Elly/Ellie/Ellee (this is where I regret not being as strong in English as Math...being able to write pronunciations as depicted in the dictionary would be so helpful on the internet). Thanks. Your explanation was perfect. I thought Elle was like letter or the "Elle" in Michelle. I am glad to know the correct way!

I joined for a month...didn't feel it was worth the money so cancelled before the next month.
Wish I could help but good luck. Hope it is a better fit for you than it was for me. 😄

There is a FB meme going around about pronounciation. It says if someone mispronounces a word they learned it by reading, hard to fault them for that! Shimelle is an example of that for me. I don't really watch videos and have mostly only read about her. I had no idea it wasn't Shim-eel! I love this thread! I've only lived on other continents in college, a semester worth at a time. But I've lived decades and more in various regions of the US. Pronounciation is when we should step away from our own lens and remember other people have different experiences. The ferry or fairy comment reminds me of one. Where I live now -bury and berry are the same. But I was once ripped apart for saying Middleberry instead of Middleburrry when I lived in the east. It wouldn't be noticed here! We have a street name with multiple choices, people debate it, being a town with lots of residents from across the country. I recently met an older man who knew the family the road was named after- none of the common choices were even close! Thanks for fun early morning thread! Shimelle is Michelle with the mmm and sh sounds swapped. But you're right, if you haven't heard it right, there is room for error. I heard Elle of Elle's Studio both ways and finally asked, so I let people know if they are uncertain in their videos. It kind of makes me giggle a bit that the way Shimmerz adds a z to everything trips up Nicole Jones because she speaks french, too. Huez is the same as hues but she says it like 'wet' instead of 'view' as it is intended. So how is Elle's Studio pronounced? I had always assumed it was like the letter L but I've heard people say Ellie, so now I'm not sure. (sorry if it is already addressed in thread and I missed it).

I'll try to think of some more, but one that comes to mind is CrazyRussianHacker. This guy is hilarious. He tests gadgets, plays with dry ice, does science experiments. He's amazing.
ETA: His most recent video is getting in a pool with a floaty and a leaf blower.

So Ali is on the latest ScrapGals episode and she's pimping their show on Facebook. 😒 Part of me wants to listen to it to see what a train wreck it is...and the other part of me would rather stab my hand with a pencil.

Not to detail your conversation, but it's somewhat related (to pronunciation, not Shimelle). Is adhesive pronounced other that Ad-he-sive? There is a YouTuber that pronounces it as a-de-sive...and it drives me crazy but I'm wondering if I'm wrong. I think some people need better reading skills. There are a few people at work that pronounce the word "access" as "assess". Or...they hear one person pronounce it wrong, and they don't know any better that, that is not the correct pronunciation, at least in their region. I work with a guy that pronounces "credit" as "credick" and "transcript" as "transtrip". I think I've heard him say assess instead of access as well.

I'm done with people for today. I made the mistake of scrolling through comments on a post about Heather Heyer, the victim in Charlottesville.
Some self righteous "Christian" victim-blamed her: "It's tragic, but an extreme possibility any time you tell someone that you're right and they're wrong. Had she opted to live her life accepting others without judgement, she'd still have that life to live."
So being murdered is an appropriate punishment for judging a White Supremacist? We should accept them for who they are? Fucking hell.

I was just in TM. They had the foil but were sold out of the machines. I bought one thing of foil, because I want to experiment with my laminator and heat tool. 😄

My male Great Dane had to have emergency surgery to clear a blockage related to urinary stones. He was just shy of 9 years old. This surgery was not optional and he would have died without it.
His surgery was on a Thursday. We brought him home Friday, still appearing groggy. We rushed him back to vet first thing Sunday morning due to him steady getting worse...and he died Monday.
The stress of the surgery caused pancreatitis and even though my vet did everything he could, my boy was just too weak to pull through.
He had blood work done before the surgery that showed no cause for any worry but it took me months to stop blaming myself.
With surgery and anesthesia, there are always risks no matter the age...but trust your vet to do the best for your dog. If you don't trust your vet, find a new one.
I have 100% trust in my vet and I know the surgery had to be done, and he and his staff did everything they could to try to save him.
I'm sorry you are going through this with your dog. Please discuss everything in detail with your vet, especially since she is new to you. Ask all the questions. Get her to repeat the risks, benefits, options, everything. If she is a good vet, she will be patient with you and answer every question and address every concern you have.
I'll be thinking of you and your pupper. ❤️

I think I might be one of the few people who don't do Pinterest. I was actually one of the early adopters, but I quickly decided it wasn't for me. And now, I throw a stomping feet fit when I click on a link on my phone and it takes me to Pinterest and tries to get me to install the app.
I love me some YouTube though. Sometimes one of my dogs will wake me up between 2-3 (because she's silly and forgets to potty the last time she goes out). When we come back in, usually, we head to the couch to watch YouTube until I fall back to sleep. 😄

Call me late to the game, but i just took a peek at Ali's Story Kit page for old time's sake and I'm so thankful I cancelled. First, the kits are thinner and flatter than ever. ten cards, chipboard, acetate words, and those damn word circles. Where's the rest? The acrylic word was bulkier than some would like, but it had clear value. Secondly, where's the list of upcoming/past themes? That use to keep me hanging in to get an upcoming kit at my locked in price. However, if they're just flying by the seat of their pants, having no list means they are free to throw together whatever whenever. Finally, changing "Kit Customization" to "Add-Ons" is not in the customer's best interest. Choose what you want and pay for it vs choose what you want for the same kit price. That being said, when do DD sneaks/info start? LOL They say that they are working on getting the upcoming kits on the website, but right now, the only place I know where they are listed is in her Craft The Story FB group.

I'll continue to shop at Chewy until I have a problem with them. Their customer service is top notch and as long as it continues to be and they carry our dog food (Taste of the Wild), I'll continue to be their customer.

I loved mine until I got my Misti (I hate that I have a Misti but it was the only one I knew about at the time...if I was getting one today, I'd probably get the TH).
I think I ended up throwing mine away. The sponges were in pretty bad shape.

I'm going today to a local eye clinic. I saw that they have a sign for glasses where the proceeds benefit the local animal shelter.

I've never considered surgery for mine. I actually thought it was normal until my dentist's assistant pointed them out to my dentist and she acted like she hadn't seen it much.
Mine don't hurt at all and don't really bother me. I don't think that mine have grown much in awhile.

I've seen people post pictures/videos of funerals and I always thought it was tacky as shit.
The only exception was when my husband's friend died...The guy was an artist and his mom let her son's friends be in charge of the funeral. They spray painted the casket matte white and everyone signed, wrote memories and drew pictures on it. A lot of his friends and his mother posted pictures of the casket, talking about how much it meant to them. It was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person...

The RÅSKOG is still priced higher in Europe but we seem to be in advance with the new available colours (and, honestly, most of the new IKEA stuff). Happy to report that they've just brought in a snow white model! Should arrive in the US in the next few months (the rusty brown one has been sold here for a year to give a timeframe reference). So, if you were holding out for a clean white cart, it's coming. ❤️ the white!

Shipping Charges aren't too bad...$10 for me for a raskog. I got one a few years back because the closest IKEA was 6 or so hours. So $10 was well worth it for me.

Shit, I'm still on a high from it everytime I think about it. Dany said earlier in the episode that she was losing...NOT ANYMORE!!! She just took out a good portion (if not all) of the Lannister army not to mention she burnt the food they took from Highgarden. Cersei is fucked. I think the food probably wasn't destroyed. They made mention that the food caravans were struggling behind them, so they likely would have been spared. I think she was going after the troops and the gold. They made it very clear that the gold was important to Cersei due to the debts she owed to the Iron Bank....now she can't pay them. I thought that they said the gold had made it safely, and they were escorting the food. I'll have to go back and rewatch that but I had the understanding that the gold was safe and this was the food that was destroyed. ETA: just researched it and the gold is safe in the castle. The food is destroyed. heavy.com/entertainment/2017/08/what-happened-to-gold-highgarden-did-daenerys-dany-lose-get-cersei-game-of-thrones-s07e04/

Being in IT, I can't stand when people get "set up" and "setup" mixed up. Or login and log in.
Also Back up vs backup.
I see my coworkers use these incorrectly and I just shake my head.

Does anyone know approximately how many page protectors they hold? I don't have one but Ali got this question a lot when they were first released and she posted this in the Craft the Story FB group. Not sure if I believe that 60 pages will fit once cards and pictures are inserted...

I store mine vertically as well. I made some magazine files out of 12x12 boxes from when I used to sub to SC. I covered them in duct tape to make them more durable and think they turned out really good. They fit in my IKEA Kallax unit perfectly.

One thing about FJ TN inserts, they are extremely high quality. We got one in a kit, which I wasn't happy about until I received it. The paper is plain white and THICK.
Still haven't done anything with it though. Lol.
