It's a month long online crop basically--over at 'Get It Scrapped'. They have challenges and competitions based on how much you create, etc. It's just for fun and to stay motivated. I'm not the best person to ask though since I haven't done it! Here's a link: www.debbiehodge.com/gisforum/index.php?showforum=478

Has anyone participated in this before? Debbie Hodge was talking about it on the PRT this week and it sounds kind of fun!
I'd love to hear from people who have done it before. Is it weird to jump in if I'm not a member there?
Talk me into it! Haha!

I sort my paper into categories:
Valentines/Love/Wedding Summer & Travel Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving & Outdoor Camping/Hiking (I know this seems like a weird combo, but I find the color pallets are often similar) Christmas/Winter Non-seasonal bright & bold colors Non-seasonal pastel & muted colors
I'm not necessarily a themed scrapper, but filing it by the theme helps me to quickly find a specific paper line or color scheme. I do try to keep papers of the same collection together..at least initially.

I order prints from Persnickety Prints every 6 weeks or so. I do weekly PL spreads, but since I outsource my photo printing, I don't work on it at the end of every week. In the mean time, I make notes in a planner--almost more like a journal-- with what is going on each day, funny things my kids say and do, etc. That way even when I'm working on a spread from 6 weeks ago, between the photos and my journaling, I have a pretty clear memory of what was going on that week. A lot of times I copy the journaling from my planner straight into my PL.
Good luck! It probably took me 6-8 months to find my groove with PL when I first started, so once you realize what your hangups are, don't be afraid to tweak it to make it work for you.

I actually went through and got rid of some the other day. I was getting frustrated that I would have to look through 15 different packages each time because none of them had all the letters that I needed. My scrap time is limited and that wasn't how I wanted to spend it! I got rid of the ones that were out of both A's and E's. Some I kept the numbers if I thought I would use them for dates on my PL spreads. If I REALLY loved them, I made some words that I thought I would use on the packaging and then cut them out and put them in with my die cuts.
But, I agree...it's kind of hard to throw them away knowing that I cold probably have gotten more words out of them! I like the suggestion to use them as pop dots. I might have to do that in the future.

I use mine up in pocket pages/project life. I like the scaled down patterns for PL and it only takes one quick cut to have a 4x6 pocket card.
I second the suggestion of Jen Schow's 6X6 paper pad class. She shows some really good ways to use them up.

I did end up ordering one of the 6x6 Christmas paper pads, because I like those for Project Life. I guess I was just mostly curious if they were done manufacturing full collections or phasing out their non-designer collections. They always have such cute ones!

The first year that I did PL, I started at about this time. I just used whatever pictures that I had and pieced together a couple of spreads for the missed weeks. When I look back at the album now, unless you are specifically looking at dates, you really don't notice that January has less content than the rest. The album as a whole tells the story and whether you started in January or February won't really matter to you down the road. I started doing Project Life in 2012 and am still going...I really love these albums so much! They have so many details that I never would have remembered otherwise. You can do it!

I noticed that American Crafts had a few Christmas lines that were only sold as paper pads (that I saw, anyways) It didn't look like they were sold as individual sheets and didn't have any coordinating embellishments. Same with their Valentines line. Are they only manufacturing full lines from their designer series now (Amy Tan, Dear Lizzy, etc.)? They had some cute papers, but I usually like to buy individual sheets as opposed to the whole collection so that I don't end up with too much. Also, I don't care for the thin paper weight of the paper in pads. Has anyone else noticed this? Any insight?

The Recollections stuff is out of hand. I do not want Recollections stuff. I want brand name stuff and I do not understand why no chain store understands that! I LOVE their adhesive runners though! I"m super picky and I have had the best luck with theirs.

I think BH is just trying to cater to a different audience. If you look at her DT, they mostly do pretty minimally embellished spreads. I think she tries to focus on the simplicity and feasibility of PL to attract people who aren't scrapbookers or people who feel overwhelmed by 'regular' scrapbooking. I feel like the people she is wanting to appeal to are the people who genuinely just want to get their photos in albums, but don't necessarily want to do scrapbooking for the creative outlet.

What a fun thread! I remember many of these. I still have a clear acrylic mini-album that I never got around to making...someday...lol.
Two things to add: Quilling And one I was just thinking about the other day with the Minc being so popular, does anyone remember when Making Memories had those foil & flocking kits? You would rub a tacky shape onto your paper and then put a sheet of flock or foil on top and then rub it down with a popsicle stick. I still have a partial Halloween one in my stash.

That smack blog has been around since the 2peas days. I have always refused to click over, even out of curiosity. Not my style and not what this hobby is about for me. I agree with the suggestions to not read it. Just by clicking over, you are giving them the power to get into your head. Not worth it. Sometimes ignorance is bliss!

Does this make anyone else really sad? Most of it wasn't even used.

I was just thinking about this today as well. I loved the sea foam edition and used the heck out of it, but I feel so done with it at this point and have so much left.
I would be up for trading if someone is interested. 3x4 cards only as I have already used up the 4x6's.
