Just when I think I should get rid of some of my stuff I end up finding the perfect use for something that's been in my stash for a long time. I still have stuff from the 90's early 2000's like those page toppers and page pieces from companies like Cockadoodle Design. Well I ended up having the perfect pictures that matched one of the page toppers (and the matching diecuts) and the funny thing is that is one of my pages I get the most compliments on. What I do regret is when I was into the scrapbook magazines and got published a few times I bought stuff that wasn't my style because it was popular. But to be honest this year I am really trying to buy only necessities like page protectors and adhesive. I have lost weight over the last year and it's been so long since I bought clothing and also my daughter is in high school and there are things I want to do for her that I need to save my money for. Congrats on your weight loss!

Tomorrow is the feed your craft birthday sale. There are 7 stamps releasing and there are grab bags and sale items. I totally missed the grab bags. Still thinking over the new stamps - I love them, but trying to be more mindful about my ever-growing but not getting used stamp collection from IACB. 😉

So its been pointed out that the firework on the July SKOTM set is the exact same firework she used in January of this year. Just rotated. That really sucks - it takes up a bunch of space on the stamp set and something else could have been used for that space. Typical laziness. That firework is the main reason I picked up the January stamp during the sale. Neither Laugh not the SBTM kit interest me.

If I didn’t already have SO MUCH Christmas, I would probably pick up North Pole. Love that Santa. Maybe I’ll get it marked down at the Expo next year.

In today’s Craft The Story (YouTube) video, Ali mentions they’re going to have storage boxes available for December Daily this year 🤷🏻♀️ I perked up at that announcement, then I remembered they’ll cost around two zillion dollars and sell out in a hot minute and was over it. I’ll stick with the ikea bamboo boxes. The ones she’s chucking away now. 🤷🏻♀️ Cost a zillion and then probably fall apart.

I’ve never been to one of these, but I’m thinking about this one. I really only want to shop, though. I’m wondering if it’s worth the hour drive, though. Is anyone able to tell me if there is a decent amount of vendors? Would I find things that I can’t find at hobby lobby? (I realize everyone’s opinion is different). Thanks! If your drive is only an hour, I would say to definitely go!

I stopped printing at Walgreens years ago because of poor service. Sorry you’re having a bad experience with them. I either print at home or use Persnickety. I had over 300 photos, I am way to lazy to print that many at home. I haven't used persnickety in years because their website was so bad, I used mpix for awhile but their photos started coming out so dark I quit them. I should check out persnickety to see if the site is better. I miss scrapbookpictures.com. They were the best, best quality, best prices, best customer service, I loved them. Yes, I would not print a batch of 300 at home either! Persnickety’s site used to be so horrible for uploading. When I was heavy into digital, it would take FOREVER to upload one LO! The app is much better.

I think 6x8 would be a fun size! But, the practical side of me says to go with either 8.5x11 or 9x12 for the album size - you can always add some 6x8 layouts in the album to switch things up!

There are also tons of priority flat rate boxes AND ENVELOPES available for USPS, so you 1. save the cost of actually buying envelopes and boxes, and 2. know the price regardless of where the person is. There are far more options than what you see at your post office and they will ship them to you for free. Hopefully this link will work without having to log in: usps flat rate suppliesI realize that priority is not cheap, but over a certain weight it's sometimes the only choice, and the flat rate part makes it so much easier for buyer and seller to know what the cost will be up-front. Also paper stuff gets heavy fast! BTW This is the postage price calculator. If you sell online you will become very familiar with it! postcalc.usps.com/Thanks for sharing the links!

Welcome back! I like to do a “starter” LO where I don’t have to think about it much, but it gets my muscle memory going. So usually I opt for either a pre-designed kit LO (like from Scrapbook Generation) where the instructions are there and you just cut and assemble (I don’t even need to intend to put photos in it right then) OR I find a LO I love on Pinterest or elsewhere and I scraplift or downright copy it. It’s the act of starting and making the first one an easy win that gets the momentum going. Have fun!

Would it be evil if I suggest to DH we visit his aunt about 2 hours away, then "suggest" we stop at the craft store in St. Cloud on the way home? Asking for a friend... Not evil...just good planning!

I got my sale stuff yesterday and I can see why the story planned didn’t take off. I bought the album only and it’s my bad for not reading the description but holy heck it’s small. The acetate divider sheets are almost 5x7! I’ll put it to use but had to report. Thanks for sharing - I almost bought it for the binder, assuming it was the same size as all her binders. Glad I resisted (although I did buy other things).

This reminded me that I had a whole situation with her and Tiffany several months ago that I never shared with anyone. Neither of them would reply to a question that I asked in the SG FB group and then they kicked me out of the group for asking them again via FB messenger. They were both HORRIBLY RUDE. Not that I was surprised. Inquiring minds want to know - what did you ask them?

Now that it's mid year how is everyone doing on their spending goals? Ugh. I need to go back in the freezer. I had picked up a few subs in April/May, and canceled those for June. But, Ali Edwards sales last week caught me. And Pinkfresh Studio’s sales. So now I’m officially jumping back in the freezer, ideally for the rest of the summer, but at least through after the independence holiday. I’m shooting for another 50 pages before another big purchase. I’m weak.

It usually takes me about an hour to do a layout. Sketch four took me only 27 minutes! I have a video going up on Saturday. Wow! That’s quicker than I think I could do a page. Love the Disney!

OK, I'm caught up to week 4. That sketch threw me - I love it, but I like larger photos. Ended up here, creating my own watercolour squares and not loving them LAYOUT SWEET THINGS by kirstendrew, on Flickr I think the watercolor squares turned out great!

I’m behind. The size of the fb group is a little overwhelming, so I hesitate to venture in there. Also, I’m trying to finish up my Christmas journal first, wish is the main reason I haven’t jumped in yet. I took the first class in the initial round and was able to keep up, finishing all the sketches and even doing a few twice. i loved it! The thing that helped me was that I decided to pick a theme and stick to that for almost all of my pages. I want to do that again, but deciding on the theme has led me to a little analysis paralysis. I think once I finish my Christmas, and can clean all those supplies off my desk, I’ll be ready to jump in! (I also signed up for Shimelle’s half and half, and haven’t done anything with that yet either.) For what it’s worth, don’t let the size of the group keep you from enjoying the class. Like every other Facebook group I’m a part of, the percentage of people who actually participate is nowhere near the full enrollment. I’ve been getting better at being able to quickly skim through the weekly project albums to see everyone’s projects. 😀 Thanks Debbie! One of the things I loved about last time was scrolling through the albums to see everyone’s take. So inspiring!

Dye inks are usually too splotchy and don’t give very good impressions. I prefer pigment inks for good images, bit they do take longer to dry. I like AE’s hybrid inks, and really liked the Black until the pad sort of chemically melted. I picked up Catherine Pooler ink pad, but haven’t really played with it much. Are hybrids always labeled as such? I thought CP only had dye inks. Good question - I’m not sure. The CP inks say Dye, but I haven’t tried them out yet. My comment on dye inks is based on SC and KP-HA inks, which all have the felt pad instead of foam. Maybe foam makes the difference? I know the main difference is dye inks soak in and dry quickly, and can activate with water (great for using for watercolor or smooshing techniques), and pigments sit on top and dry slowly - giving vibrant colors and great for powder embossing. I like hybrids because they give the better coverage but dry faster.

For my tools, I use two things: 1. A cheap plastic pencil box - in it I keep a bone folder, stamping blocks, ink pads (my most used), small scissors, liquid glue, ink dauber, eraser, pick up square, pens, glue dots (on a sheet), scraps of white cardstock for stamping small images like labels, tweezers, long needle for piercing, post-it pad (to note the things I want to add to a LO but didn’t bring). It’s a lot, but it all fits. When I’m at the crop, I have it open on my table, with the paper, glue dots, and scissors flipped in the lid. 2. Totally Tiffany Ditto tote - I keep punches, Nuvo, ink pads, mists, paint, brushes, tiny attacher, pens/pencils, ruler, stencils, and 4x6 iris cases with dies, embellishments, stamps, or whatever else I can keep in those. It really holds a lot (and can get heavy, if you put a lot of punches like I do). The other advantage of this tote is that it opens up, so you can place it on your table to stake out your border and prevent encroachers! I always seem to be near someone who likes to expand their stuff into my space, so I try to have items to help prevent that, like this tote. I also take a metal fold-up rack to put things on and under - plus this also helps me mark my space. 😉 For other embellishments, I use a Sterlite stack and carry container like this one. I mainly use it for project-specific stuff. These are great because if you have multiples, you can keep snapping on more. I sit this on my rolling cart and use a luggage strap to hold it on while transporting. Have fun at your crop!

I canceled one of my monthly kits. I need to use up some of what I have. Good job. I need to do the same. I canceled all but my Elle’s Studio kit, but I need to stop shopping and make a dent in my stash! All the recent sales sucked me in, so I need to get strict with myself and stop bringing in new product.

My cutterbees are sticky. What’s the trick to cleaning them up? I use a Pick Up Square (adhesive remover) and clean the blades with that. Sometimes I will use a cloth with Un-Du to clean them.
