Not really into star signs, and most of those are not accurate for me (Aquarius). I am creative, but often get in my own way creatively by overthinking.
I'm definitely not "a bit of everything." I'm book smart only. Not people, and not street. I generally know what is going on and am actually pretty obsessive about knowing. Silent treatment - nah, if I'm mad, you'll hear about it. My guilty pleasure is online shopping, not watching documentaries!

Let's be real, though - the people pushing hardest for more births really just want more white births. They're terrified of the day that we white people are a minority in the US.

What they forget is the diversity of income and who seeks/receives birth control and is able to pay for it... Us ordinary people will do without BC and assorted female medical services, but their entitled wealth will provide for them, all services. they will continue to be out numbered. Absolutely true. We've told our girls that for now, we stay in Texas and fight for those who can't afford to get the care they need elsewhere. That's how we use our privilege - if one of them needed it, we could get them to Colorado or Mexico to get the care they need. Others can't do that, so for the moment, we stay and fight. Depending on how things go, we may decide at some point that we can't do that any more.

Yes, exactly. The states of Missouri, Kansas and Idaho are all suing. The states will claim they have standing because they have been harmed because the government regulations conflict with their restrictive abortion bans & laws. Most likely, the conservative justices will rule the states have standing and use the opportunity to limit abortion and limit the powers of the federal government. Win-win for the conservatives. Regrettably, this was a very narrow decision and will not protect access to the drugs. The Supreme Court left in place the restrictive bans on medication in more than 12 Republican states with near total bans. This feels like throwing the dog a bone similar to the decision last year on voting rights in Alabama. The conservatives gave the liberals something in the middle of all of their far right rulings so they could claim, look we're not partisan. I have a bad feeling about all of the rulings we're waiting for, especially Trump's immunity case. Although I don't like him, I do like this part of the decision written by Kavanaugh www.nytimes.com/2024/06/13/us/politics/supreme-court-abortion-pill-mifepristone-ruling.htmlHe added, “A plaintiff ’s desire to make a drug less available for others does not establish standing to sue.”
www.nytimes.com/2024/06/13/opinion/abortion-pill-mifepristone-scotus.htmlFor the time being, access to the abortion pill is preserved. But make no mistake: This was a narrow, procedural win for reproductive rights. In the bigger picture, the anti-abortion forces feel the wind is at their backs. It is up to the majority of Americans who support abortion rights to turn out at the polls this fall, and every year, to demonstrate what protecting equality and bodily autonomy really means.Yes. Kavanaugh's ruling seems to be written in such a way as to give future plaintiffs a roadmap to getting what they want.

Yes. They are expensive. There are cheaper places here - think chains of vets in strip malls - that are good for routine vaccinations and probably nail trimming.
Both of our dogs have weird medical needs so we go with the more expensive vet we know and trust, but if my dog was a regular healthy dog, I'd definitely do vaccinations elsewhere.
(And yes, vet school is expensive and so is running a veterinary practice.)

What is she wearing? I know some groomers wear scrubs because they seem to keep less hair on them.
Perhaps she could do her work laundry at a laundromat instead of at your home?

I'm pleased that they recognized that the administration and FDA are the correct ways to petition for changes in drug rules, and not through the courts. Courts should not be making any medical decisions for anyone (ahem, Texas).

I've retired from school teaching to at-home private teaching and political/educational advocacy. At 51, I still need a focus for my energies. It's only been a week. So far I've gotten the summer session for my studio established, given a TV interview about the problems in our local district, and spoken at a board meeting about budget concerns. I'm loving being able to control my own schedule and follow my passions. I also love not being so mentally worn out at the end of the day that I have no energy for those passions. My kids are already mostly out of the house so, while it turns out young adults still require some amount of parenting, they don't take as much of my time as a kid still in high school. Reflect on what is important to you outside of being a mom, and make plans to indulge those things.

Not aesthetically something I like. But as with any other physical characteristic, I try not to judge based on that alone. Better to let someone show you who they are rather than than making assumptions based on appearance.

Some of the worst far right politicians are from Texas (Abbott, Paxton, Cruz etc) But the Republican Party has really gone off the deep end in an attempt to stay in power. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/06/03/texas-republican-party-new-platform/Opinion The Texas Republican Party has gone off the deep end Even before the release of an outrageous new platform, the party had become an embarrassment to itself. Just a few of the platform’s planks: that the Bible should be taught in public schools, with chaplains on hand “to counsel and give guidance from a traditional biblical perspective based on Judeo-Christian principles.” That noncitizens who are legal residents of this country should be deported if they are arrested for participating in a protest that turns violent. That name changes to military bases should be reversed to “publicly honor the southern heroes.” That doctors who perform abortions should be charged with homicide.
Then there is this audaciously undemocratic provision: To be elected to state office, a candidate must win not only a majority of votes, but also more than half of Texas’s 254 counties. Let me translate what that means. Democrats in Texas are concentrated in a few urban areas, while Republicans are spread across the map. This system would effectively mean Democrats — who, as it is, haven’t won a statewide office since 1994 — would be shut out forever. convention.texasgop.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/2024-TEMPORARY-Platform-FINAL.pdfAh yes, the proposed Texas electoral college. An amendment like that could be prevented if we weren’t so horribly gerrymandered. But the national democrats just couldn’t get around to passing voting rights legislation when they had the chance. 🙄

The other thing I've heard is that Biden will pardon his son. (Conservative opinions) I don't think so and I absolutely would not support it if he did. Don’t be so naive. If Biden loses the election he will most certainly pardon Hunter, it will cost him nothing politically at that point other than a footnote in the history book. Also, if you’ve been paying attention he’s said he won’t pardon but he never said he wouldn’t commute his sentence. Just because your guy acts that way doesn’t mean that others will.

He initially offered a plea deal and DOJ decided not to accept it. I don’t remember all the details. Im pretty sure the plea deal they initially agreed to would cover all his potential crimes, making him immune from any charges related to tax evasion. And thats why the judge would not agree to it. You mean they didn’t think the president and his family should have total immunity from prosecution? 😂😂😂

I don't have any problem with the conviction. I am curious why Hunter and his lawyers let the case go to trial? Although, if he did plead guilty, I'm sure there would have been accusations of a sweetheart deal. I'm 100% convinced that if Don Jr or Eric did the same thing when Trump was in office, they never would have been charged. If for some reason, they had been charged with lying on a gun application or any other crime, Trump would pardon them. And MAGAs would be OK with Trump or any of his family members getting a true sweetheart deal. I thought this was an interesting perspective from Reagan's daughter, Patti Davis, on addiction and consequences gift article - no paywall www.nytimes.com/2024/06/10/opinion/the-one-thing-everyone-is-missing-about-hunter-bidens-case.html?unlocked_article_code=1.y00.okch.bX2n2FK6Y5yX&smid=url-shareHe initially offered a plea deal and DOJ decided not to accept it. I can't understand how he, Charlie Kirk and followers have become so very angry and vindictive at a young age. A constant stream of rage porn dating back to the Rush Limbaugh days. It's warped their minds.

1. Totally fine with any of our electeds and their families being subject to the rule of law. 2. Hilarious that the right is so gung-ho about the enforcement of a law most of them don't support, because it "infringes" on their right to own as many guns as possible. 3. Don Jr. is obviously an addict and just as obviously owns guns. What to do, what to do ...

Somehow the GOP has gone from the self-named "party of law and order" to the party of "a president should be able to do whatever he wants as long as he hurts those I hate."

I love the look of a sleeve or chest piece on a man's muscled arm/chest.
Neck, face, no thank you.
I have one fairly large tattoo on the back of my left shoulder. It's meaningful to me. I don't care what anyone else thinks. I assume most people with tattoos feel the same.

BCBS from the exchange though the price for me is the same either way. I once checked to see if I could buy something without going through the marketplace and there was no difference in the offerings and price at that time. The income limits have been raised so it is worth going through the marketplace to see if you can get some tax credit. It is more than income, you can't have access to insurance any other way. I had BCBS before the ACA as well. It's expensive for sure with a high deductible. When I was young, I never thought I'd look forward to turning 65. One hopes that Medicare will still be a thing when we all turn 65.
