Our baby girl (23, so not actually a baby) will be home for Christmas! It's just the 4 of us but we always have fun and I see some awesome game nights in our future. I'm sad her SO won't be here with us but he takes extra shifts on the holidays for the money and so his co-workers can be with their kids. My little nest will be full!!! That is so kind of him to do that for his co-workers. Enjoy your time with the family, game nights are just the best!

I had assumed you were one of those that doesn't see anything wrong with Trump. You know what they say about assuming. You can say something when misinformation or outright lies are being pushed AND see things wrong with him. When "you as a group" spend so much time trying to silence by smear tactic, anyone who doesn't conform and let misinformation/lies stand, that you never get to hear anything else from them, no wonder you're surprised when you finally might get to hear that your assumptions "you" spent so much time creating -aren't actually true. I still can't understand why you still seem to support the man or the party that bends over to kiss his ass but okay. I COULD say the same about you and the current man, the party and the media that bends over to kiss his ass and cover for his lies and colossal failure. But I won't because I understand you have your reasons as I have mine and I understand that's okay. I could also ask why are you so okay with letting debunked and verifiable lies stand. I think the disagreement here was the fact that its one thing to participate in an organized rally/protest/march and another to espouse "LGB" in places that aren't political rallies. I've seen footage of a well known church leader leading his congregation in this LGB chant. And the case of the pilot being completely unprofessional by announcing that over the intercom. I'd have been pretty offended and pissed if I were a passenger. Do I really have to point out AGAIN, that it doesn't happen only on one side? In on example, there was a judge, that wore the fuck Trump/pussy hat in her courtroom. You don't think people were offended and pissed? Even some that agreed with her stance, but saw the place and time as completely inappropriate. You guys have got to stop pretending that conservatives are doing something that makes them so evil and acting as if you would never do the outrage of the moment. This happens so often, that "you" really honestly start believing how righteous and moral "you" are, and how evil the right is, despite "you're" doing the same damn thing. It's an actual pattern that could benefit from a little "self" reflection. How many lives have been saved now that we are out? No one disagrees with getting out. That's a strawman argument. It didn't go perfectly but I never would expect it to. What most people would and did expect is for Biden to get Americans and allies out BEFORE he removed the protection of the troops. Had he done that, it would not have been this catastrophic. That's only one of the reasons why people are so FUCKING pissed at this man and the people that are allowing him to do this. Even in his own party. His generals warned him not to do that, but Biden knows more than the experts advising him. Holy hell, even a 5 year would be able to tell you that during a fire, you don't remove the teachers from the building and THEN work on getting the kids out.

First off, the comment wasn't made 7 years ago. Even if it was it isn't like she is apologizing or retracting the statement, so there is that. When I quoted cindosha, the board put the incorrect date in, as it often does and PeachStatePea thought it was correct. It WAS just a couple of months shy of 5 years ago and Cindosha DID clarify the statement. KR is a racist (which he is, not sure that is really debatable) As a matter of fact it IS completely debatable. KR... belongs in prison for his crimes Kyle Rittenhouse committed no crimes. That was proven with lots of video and the testimony of the guy he shot who SAID it was self defense. To insinuate that the driver of these murders was racially motivated is wrong. PeachStatePea did NOT do that. The fact that you think that in this case the driver being Black while indiscriminately murdering white people while fleeing the police is the takeaway here says a lot about you. Reread her post. That was NOT her take on the case, it was her take on the narrative that happens here. Her ACTUAL take on the case was just above that.

Before we go any further, I need to know what I said that leads you to believe I have a problem with people in pink hats gathering to protest Trump? Maybe this, complete with a picture of said hats? And this? The inference seems clear. But are you saying that was not your intention? Since the only answer from oh yvonne is liking your post, I'll respond to yours. In context with sockmonkey posting as if the Right were the only ones who wore coded "fuck you" articles of clothing, it's nothing more than showing that the Left also wears coded "fuck you" articles of clothing. Showing that doesn't mean that I have any problem with you voicing your opinion or protesting for it, it's simply saying that the coded message isn't only coming from one party as is being insinuated.

We have spent a lot of time visiting family in Waukesha. Some of their friends have kids that were in the parade and were luckily unhurt, but witnessed the carnage and bodies flying through the air. Such a horrible tragedy! Oh my God! Those poor kids witnessing that. That will haunt them, that's so awful.

That's quite different than what this horrible person ACTUALLY did. I agree, hers was just hyperbole, as you said. They both see hitting other people "in their way" as acceptable. This killer did it. I doubt the pea would actually do it. But saying she would is deplorable. I agree it wasn't a good thing to say. But She didn't actually do it AND what she was talking about... SLOWLY moving people who refused to move (though still not a good idea) it IS night and day difference from what this monster did yesterday.

Yes, tougher sentences, but you have to catch these guys first. And quit letting them out on unbelievably low PR bonds while they await trial, only to go out and commit more crimes. Huge issue here with that - and a lot of finger pointing as to whose fault it is. Meanwhile crime rates continue to increase. Yes!

I'll just say this so other people who are NOT hell bent on "misunderstanding" me, will see that I was clearly not talking about Canada and WHY I was clearly not talking about Canada.
I said:
The question was about going to the part of the border where the crisis was vs. going to the part of the border that wasn't in crisis. She went to El Paso when she really needed to see the crisis. Yes, I know technically that's the same border, but in answering a barrage of questions, that's how it came out.
No one was referring to the Canadian border. And in context with KNOWING where Kamala actually DID GO and what we were talking about, I'm sure most people could have and probably did deduce that. But just in case people buy into the attempted smear job...

Biden said that he would not do mandates. He said it wasn't necessary and he set a goal of 70% vaccinated in order to reach herd immunity to be safe. 60–70% is what's needed to reach herd immunity. We surpassed that a while ago. So they changed the FACT that we DID hit percentage needed, by adding in children to the vaccine rates. That didn't change the percentage needed to reach herd immunity. It DID change the "percentage reached" in order to "justify" mandate under threat of your job. Or threat of participating in society. That's not science, that's tyranny. The vaccine mandate was set to go into effect in January. Leaving the unvaccinated to be unvaccinated for 2 more months so businesses wouldn't be affected during the holidays. It's so important to be vaccinated in order to protect everyone, but not important enough to stop the unvaccinated from shopping and "putting the vaccinated at risk". That's not safety. That's not science. The vaccine mandate doesn't require businesses under 99 employees to require the oh so required vaccine. If you have a business with under 99 employees, they won't get or spread covid? Thats not safety. That's not science. Of all the leaders telling us how important it is to continue to wear a mask and mandating everyone else do so, why are so many of them being caught in situations where they don't follow the rules? Still. Over a year later. That's not safety. I'll just repeat what I said and I removed the last sentence since it's so confusing for some.

Um no, here are some of cindosha's gems from that thread: In addition, she's also posted her pro-trump racists bullshit for years. So again, why is it OK for her to "hit 'em" but she calls this guy a "piece of shit"? What's the difference between her and the monster who mowed down these people? What's the difference between the parade marchers and protesters? It's pretty obvious. Ah, okay got it. I didn't see that context. I stand corrected as far as that goes. As for the difference? Well....she hadn't actually done it. I'm pretty sure that was all hyperbole. I think that is actually obvious. I stand in the lane that there are human beings and the gross disgusting POS. Like Trump for example. Huge POS. She also said this at the time: I didn't say anything about killing anyone. I'd move them out of my way by slowly moving my car forward. I NEVER said KILL!! Geez. That's quite different than what this horrible person ACTUALLY did. I agree, hers was just hyperbole, as you said.

Yes! And they were a big fuck you to Donald Trump. Let’s not forget that. They were cat eared hats. Donald Trump said "f you" to women when he said liked to grab them there. As a woman, possibly a mother or sister, are you good with that? I'd asked you this question before and you never answered me. I agree with you though. Definitely let's not forget that. I ask you again, Pixie. Are you okay with DT saying that? Did you think it was funny or harmless? Do you think any less of him for saying that vulgar and crass and horrible thing that he admits he does? I'm asking you respectully and not calling you names. I'd appreciate your thoughts on that. Thank you. No, I'm not okay with him saying that and no, I don't think it was funny or harmless. Yes, I think it and he is vulgar and crass. Thank you for asking kindly and respectfully that is TOO OFTEN not the case. Sorry your question got buried. That said, I'm also going to ask you a question, because it's one that I'm sure has plagued a lot of conservatives who've graced these boards, since it's a long standing line of thinking from the Left on here. And I really do mean it in the sincerest, most respectful way, because I honestly don't understand... Why do you think that pointing out that the assertion of only conservatives buy and wear "fuck you" articles of clothing isn't actually true... why does that make you think that I think what Trump said was okay? IF I were to follow the same line of logic you are using, I would then wonder if objecting to "fuck you" clothing on conservatives means that you're just fine with Biden leaving Americans and allies in Afghanistan at risk to be slaughtered by terrorists because of his incompetence. I ask you, respectfully, does that line of thinking on my hypothetical part make any sense to you? ETA: And please, don't anyone jump in to answer for her. This is a nice, civil conversation happening here, at least wait for her to respond before jumping in.

Sure. Don't try to converse with me after that bullshit you pulled. Until you apologize to me for calling me a racist and a sexist in lieu of articulating an opposing view point, don't expect any conversation with me. I didn't call you a racist or sexist. I stand by my post that your comment about VP Harris was offensive, I explained why without calling you sexist. And I explained the Republican perspective without calling anyone racist. The Republican premise and point of view that immigration is bad, we should close our borders, put up walls etc is not everyone's perspective. You have to say that part out loud, that you don't want people of color fleeing violence and poverty to come here.If that's how you interpreted your own words, fine. And here are just a few of the challenges to legal immigration. The typical Republican response to people fleeing violence and poverty is just come here legally without recognizing the reality and unsurmountable challenges to that. www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org/research/why-don’t-they-just-get-lineUndocumented immigrants who want to become citizens of the United States cannot just “get in line.” Although there are some lines, many aspiring lawful permanent residents are not eligible to be in any of them. Even if an undocumented immigrant does meet the formal requirements to immigrate, the wait can be very long if the individual is applying from a country with a lengthy backlog of applications.I didn't call you a racist or sexist. your comment about VP Harris was offensive, I explained why without calling you sexist. What's that trendy meme about everything? "Tell me you're fill in the blank without telling me you're fill in the blank." In this case fill in the blank with "sexist". You insinuated. You have to say that part out loud, that you don't want people of color fleeing violence and poverty to come here. That's a racist that you're describing. You're very intentionally insinuating that I'm a racist. And saying you're offended that I would talk about what is generally accepted job descriptions for the first lady is insinuating that I'm sexist. Fine. Don't want to own up to your own words, then don't engage me ever again. If you refuse to be civil, if you hit at me I will hit back, but don't EVER expect civil discussion from me again. Ever. And you were the one to bring up the Canadian border. No I did not. You're pulling that out of your ass. I've never brought up the Canadian border. Never. Think I did? That should be very easy for you to prove.

Speaking of showing who you are on a daily basis... You ignored that "offense" for at least 2 hours until you saw a bandwagon to jump on. I didn't jump on the bandwagon. I missed it when I read your post the first time because you were spouting more nonsense about the border and VP Harris's job & responsibilities. You still have not answered the questions, why is it important to visit the border? And if the policies are encouraging people to come, why is that bad? And you keep ignoring the facts about the Afghanistan withdrawal. Like the fact that the former president negotiated a deal and the Biden administration was stuck with a deadline. So, 17,000 interviews before August is not a reasonable expectation given the limitations set by the former administration. Sure. Don't try to converse with me after that bullshit you pulled. Until you apologize to me for calling me a racist and a sexist in lieu of articulating an opposing view point, don't expect any conversation with me.

I disagree. She was tasked with curbing the current flow of migrants. I guess she was better suited to go visit a daycare center at the time then? A visit to a daycare center was more in line with curbing the flow of migrants in the border than a high level meeting about the border with important border information. I don't think the word security dismisses the valuable first hand knowledge she missed out on like you think it does. But okay. Visit a daycare center. Like she's just the first lady, not the Vice President. I'm not sure what part of this comment is the most offensive. I'm offended for both VP Harris and Jill Biden. Suggesting that visiting a day care center is beneath them or unimportant is insulting to American families who depend on day care. Insulting to the caregivers that work there. Funding for childcare is a really important piece of the Build Back Better plan. Jill Biden is a college professor who cares deeply about education. She is a bright, educated, intelligent, articulate, eloquent, caring, compassionate, kind, empathetic, capable First Lady, especially compared to the last one. Speaking of showing who you are on a daily basis... You ignored that "offense" for at least 2 hours until you saw a bandwagon to jump on.

What a sexist remark to make. Not only to VP Harris but past First Ladies as well. We’re done. Oh! There it is. You found the one think you THINK you can dismiss me with. You can't dispute what I said, you're not adult enough to let opposing opinion stand, so you use smear tactics dismiss opinion you don't like. It's not about sexism, it's about what has generally been the job description. It's amazing the levels some of you will stoop to to eradicate diversity of thought, opposing opinion.

Expecting the state department to complete 17,000 interviews before August with Covid and a decimated State Department as a result of the Trump administration is not a rational reason. I said that he should have gotten the the Americans and allies out BEFORE he removed the troops. Nothing about "do it before August". So yes, that's a rational expectation. Nor is missing one meeting a rational reason. Expecting her to be responsible for security when it's not in her job description nor something she has taken on is not a reasonable reason, either. I think a border meeting is a more appropriate place to be than visiting a daycare, for the person tasked with addressing the border crisis. Visiting a daycare seems more in line with the duties of the first gentleman or second lady. Your simple disagreement does not make my reasoning irrational. I think we're all aware of her poll numbers. Many of the people who disapprove of VP Harris have been brainwashed by Fox, other conservative media and Republicans who have targeted her. You can make all the excuses you want for her not doing her job well and tanking in the polls in historic fashion, because she isn't doing her job well, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening. It's being seen across both parties. What policies encourage people? Even though I've already pointed out some policies, you already asked this question and I told you then that I've already pointed out some policies. Now you're asking again? You're avoiding the obvious answer that encouraging people to come here is bad. Coming here is good. Come. Seek asylum, seek a better life for yourself and your family. Participate in American life. Republicans in general want that. Coming through a dangerous trek riddled with sexual predators, human trafficking and general climate and terrain danger is not in anyone's best interest. We have laws and procedures on how to immigrate or seek asylum and breaking those laws is not the way to do it. We have legal methods to do so and we're supposed to discourage illegal attempts. If you do it illegally you're supposed to be turned back. And we were not talking about the Canadian border. We’re talking about the Mexico border. I have no idea why you keep bringing up the Canadian border. WTH are you talking about? You have to say that part out loud, that you don't want people of color fleeing violence and poverty to come here. The minute you attempt to assert that ANYONE is racist because they want people to follow the laws to come here, the conversation ends. You show you're not having an honest conversation when you devolve into smear tactics in some narcissistic attempt to "own me" with race. Be an adult and deal with facts, not dimwitted race smears because you can't back up your assertions. If you really believed that you’re right, you could articulate it without using racism as a weapon.

1. VP Harris roll for immigration does not include security. We have a Secretary of Homeland Security who’s job is to handle security matters for the United States including those at the Southern Border. That is why he was leading the 10/8 meeting. As such there was no reason for VP Harris to be there. And prove the State Department isn’t trying get get the last of the Americans with their Afghan families out of Afghanistan. I pretty much did with: Showing them saying in a linked email that even if you get permission to GET THESE AMERICANS OUT OF IMMEDIATE HARMS WAY, PERMISSION TO GET THEM TO A SAFE PLACE WHERE WE CAN VET THEM, WE WILL NOT COOPERATE IN FACILITATING THAT. All while saying something entirely different in public. He should have done this and he should have done that. Phooey. If you think you can do better by all means run for President. There is a lot we don’t about the decisions made Funny, you had no problem knowing everything when you disagreed with Trumps policies. Open Borders. What do you mean by open borders? Ask Jeh Johson, Obama and the other democrats saying it what they mean by the Biden/Harris administrations "essentially open borders". As I said, she's not doing her current job well. Therefore I don't think she would do well if she were promoted to president. The polls also seem to back that up. Despite your need to dismiss them in her defense. 28% approval and that's across party lines. She hit an historical record. I stated my opinion. I backed it up with reasons. I defended those reasons. I backed those up too. So you can disagree all you want, but you did not succeed in showing that my reasons were not backed by fact and/or rational reasoning. We may not agree, but you did not prove me wrong despite repeated attempts. So we can respectfully agree to disagree.

How do they expect anyone to give a shit about protecting others if THEY don't even give a shit about protecting others? If they don't give a shit, why ask everyone else to give a shit? Because it called personal responsibility and common sense. Do you drink and drive because others do so? Do you drive above the speed limit because others do so? Do you drive through the red light because others do so? All the above are legally binding but it makes no difference to the ones that do as they don't give a s*** about others either. But for the ones that don't. it's not so much that it is against the law to do so but that there is the risk that they are going to affect other people's lives with dire consequences. That was the reason that they were made illegal - because some couldn't give a s***. They lacked personal responsibility and/or common sense! Not against the law:- Would you go to work when infected with Rubella knowing your colleague sitting next to you was in the early stages of pregnancy? Would you expose a person you work with going through chemo by coughing and sneezing in their presence because you decided to go to work infected with the flu or pneumonia? I'm assuming you would know the risk involved to others for both the above. Both the above are selfish attitudes and has nothing to do with taking the stance of THEY don't do it so why should I. Using that excuse is lame and missing that personal responsibility for ones actions towards others. It's no different with this virus. It's not mandated to wear a mask in the UK but many of us do, not only to protect ourselves but to protect others if by chance, unknowingly, we could be infecting others. I want to make a personal contribution to breaking that chain of infection so I wear a mask, keep my distance and good hygiene. I'm fully vaccinated and have an appointment, which I was able to make as of today, to receive my booster. Would you not wish to do the same regardless of what anyone else is doing? Obviously not, if you are unable to comprehend the risk involved unless it's mandated to do so or if Mr X or Mrs Y is not doing the same. It's very easy to shift the blame to others when you choose to be " I'm alright Jack to hell with anyone else" but one is too weak/guilty to admit it. THEY don't do it so I won't and FREEDOM excuses is just plain selfish, whichever way one looks at it. You're arguing a point I never made. My statement was addressing the leaders do as I say, not as I do entitlement attitude. It wasn't addressing anyone else. But you knew that.

Black! I love my black tree. I mostly use smoky silver baubles and what I fondly refer to as my tacky ornaments, which are all the brightly coloured ornaments I've picked up on my travels. I love how they all pop against the black tree, and honestly can't imagine going back to green. I also have several smaller tabletop trees that are also black. Oh! That sounds amazing and beautiful! Please, please, please post a picture! I put green in the poll, but I've fantasized about a bright pink tree with bright Dr Seuss style ornaments for years. Now I want a black tree.

We've purchased Costco pies on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and they've been fine. As mentioned above, refrigerate them to make them last. We are having a small Thanksgiving this year, so I picked up two small pies yesterday. I put them in the freezer. We'll see how that goes! You can freeze the Costco ones. I assume they are the same as the ones in Canada and my mom usually buys it far enough ahead of time when she goes into the city for a Costco run. It tastes just fine. This is good to know, since these are my oldest daughter's favorite and she requests them every year. If you only get one from the grocery store, she'll run to Costco herself.

Her job is not to deal with the conditions at the border nor the security at the border. Other people in the Administration are responsible for that. SHE was tasked with that. "Harris' role would focus on "two tracks": both curbing the current flow of migrants and"Going to a border security meeting and seeing the crisis in person is just as valid in "curbing the flow of migrants" as traveling to Guatemala is to "find the root causes". With trump, all the unnamed sources did was confirm what one suspected trump was capable of doing. Because every time he opened his mouth he made it clear he was a ignorant lazy bully who was a corrupt pathological liar. You seem to be confirming then, that you don't have a problem with unnamed sources. Unnamed sources are NOT the problem, did I get that right? You do remember that when VP Harris was South of the border she told them not to come. Right. So that kind of goes against what you are saying. You do remember the policies they set completely contradict the "don't come" message she was forced to give after it was pointed out that the policies are encouraging them to come? Often pointed out by the migrants themselves. So no, it doesn't go against what I said. And President Biden is deporting a lot of the migrants. That doesn't save the women and children from the danger they're in from making the trek that the policies encourage. What the Biden Administration is doing is treating the people allowed into the country as human beings unlike dumpster don’s administration who treated them like trash. Explain what you mean by this vague accusation. As to that remain in Mexico thing, at one point they were going to dump those waiting for their asylum trials in the middle of some jungle. But I guess you would be ok with that. But I’m not sure how it be for the women & children. Did they do it? And whether or not they did, how does that help the women and children Biden and Kamala are responsible for now? You do know that President Obama deported thousands and thousands of migrants trying to enter this country don’t you? That kind of goes against the idea of “open borders” don’t you think? No, it doesn't. What does that have to do with Harris/Biden administration having open borders? Once again Democrats don’t support open borders. There are some who want to increase the numbers allowed into this country but even that is not “open borders”. As I said before even Jeh Johson, Obama and other Democratic officials I don't remember at the moment, feel like these are basically open borders with the Biden/Harris administration. From your article.. ” Citing possible security threats to both those on board the airplanes and those on the ground at Department of Defense airbases, the State Department also said that “charter flights, even those containing American citizens, would not be allowed to land at Defense Department (DOD) airbases,” effectively grounding the evacuation mission.” Also from the article... “No independent charters are allowed to land at [Al Udeid Air Base], the military airbase you mentioned in your communication with Samantha Power. In fact, no charters are allowed to land at an [sic] DoD base and most if not all countries in the Middle Eastern region, with the exception of perhaps Saudi Arabia will allow charters to land,” the official told Montalvo in the email, adding that the organization would “need to find another destination country, and it can’t be the U.S. either.”The State Department official went on to say that even if the organization conducting the evacuations were to reach an agreement to land their evacuees in another country, the State Department would not give the go-ahead or “approve” of the charter flight, leaving organizers few options.I repeat: “need to find another destination country," "even if" "the State Department would not give the go-ahead or “approve” of the charter flight" Showing that even if you get permission to GET THESE AMERICANS OUT OF IMMEDIATE HARMS WAY, PERMISSION TO GET THEM TO A SAFE PLACE WHERE WE CAN VET THEM, WE WILL NOT COOPERATE IN FACILITATING THAT. All that, while Secretary of State Antony Blinken is PUBLICLY saying “We’re working around the clock with NGOs, with members of Congress and advocacy groups, providing any and all information AND DOING ALL WE CAN TO CLEAR ANY ROADBLOCKS THAT THEY'VE IDENTIFIED to make sure that charter flights carrying Americans or others to whom we have a special responsibility can depart Afghanistan safely.” And yet, the State Department is THE ONLY THING PREVENTING THE FLIGHTS FROM LEAVING AFGHANISTAN. The Biden administration saying one thing publicly and saying something else entirely in a leaked email. Then Biden should have done that BEFORE he pulled American protection out. ********************************************************* You sound like a petulant child stomping her little feet. But here’s suggest. Run for President & win and then you call tell how easy it is to do these things. Interesting take after the last 5-6 years of petulant children stomping their feet in the other direction. And mostly... not at ALL a good answer to the fact that BIDEN SHOULD NOT HAVE REMOVED THE MILITARY BEFORE HE GOT ALL OF THE AMERICANS AND ALLIES OUT. Actually, your answer was a really petulant, foot stomping answer to that fact.

You really should look up the definition of security. Okay, I looked it up. How does the definition of "security" show that, as someone "tasked with curbing the current flow of migrants at the border" she doesn't need to be at a border security meeting? I'm not making the connection to the definition that you are, can you explain? And I disagree with your thought process on this. I can respect that. Now I'm just trying to understand yours. Nothing about the White House Fact Sheet Yes, that was what my question was about, I hadn't heard anything about it. I still think that policies that contradict messaging and not securing the border make "the search for root causes" look like a deflection from not doing the former.
