My mantra remains true: A house is not a home unless you can write the word love in the dust. I'm borrowing this or stealing this........

I'm so sorry for your loss. Give yourself time. Time to cry, time to laugh, time to think......time. Once you start to feel a bit better get out of the house. Go for a walk down your driveway. Once that is good then go a bit farther.
You can do this! Time is your friend.

Don't touch anything then it won't look dusty.
I hear you! We have 2 dogs and live backed up to the woods. I have already pretty much caved into the dust look as part of my decorating skills.

Thanks ladies!
Paper towels! Yes! I thought of that when we were doing stuff today. I have to get a roll out. I also think I’ll take microfiber towels down to it.
We have a stereo on it. We played with that today. I was able to hook up my iPad mini to play my music. That’s a good idea for the granola bars. Life jackets—-the local group supply’s any extras of those that we need. We do have 4 adult ones.
The boat will pull skis. We aren’t planning on doing that. I’m not sure about pulling anything else. We don’t have anything…..yet! We do have noodles, rafts, and floaty chair things. I got those earlier to use at the local beach. I did get a couple of charging cables today so we will have those too.
We have sunscreen and a loaded first aid kit. Towels…..we left 4/5 there today. I have a pad paper/pen in my tote. So that has been handy.
Any other ideas are just fantastic!

We got a boat! I’m so excited. Where we live we don’t need a trailer. We also don’t pull it out of the water during the winter months. Those 2 factors were why we even considered getting one.
Yes, I’ve heard the happiest day is when you get a boat and sell a boat. I’m on the first of the happiest days!
What types of things do you recommend leaving on the boat? We had a coast guard safety check today. We were fortunate enough to just have to get a couple of things to complete this check.
So…..we are good on safety stuff. What else do you recommend?

From the tech side......in order for an update to take on your phone or computer the device has to restart. Otherwise they sent the update but it's not installed.

Google your model number and see which pen they say to use. Or your could call Apple. You cannot beat the quality and response that you get from an Apple pen.

Everything you said was fantastically correct. You've given him permission with your support. He needed that.
It's very hard.......very hard. One suggestion I wish I would have done, but never, ever thought of it.....get someone to take a photo of your hand with your dad's. It's a very powerful photo. You will treasure it forever. Do this with your mom too. It's such a special photo.

Honestly, I think it’s completely stupid when school isn’t over by Memorial Day and if schools want people to be there, they shouldn’t schedule school after summer begins (I count Memorial Day as the beginning of summer and think that’s the cultural norm). If students are exempt from finals or can arrange to take them early, good for them. They could do this but the parents complain then too. Why? That means school would start at the beginning of August. That's summer too......... Our elementary schools have tried to work with the high schools so the kids have the same breaks. What that means is that high school starts earlier so they can get the semester completed prior to Christmas break. That means start earlier in August.

Tile...vinegar and water is your friend. You really don't need anything else. We've been told, by quite a few professionals, to NOT use vinegar because it will deteriorate the grout over time. Interesting! I haven't heard that.

Yes...seal your grout after you clean it. That means down on your hands/knees with a foam brush. It will save you.

Through the night I slept in our recliner on the main floor for about a month and a half. Every time I heard the puppy move around I went and got her. Carried her outside while saying let's go outside. Our older dog wasn't thrilled, but helped a lot.
During the day, as I was home I hung out in the kitchen/family room. I gated off every where else. So both dogs were with me within that space. When the puppy quit playing or got up from a nap I said..."let's go outside". We were close enough to the door I didn't need to carry her. Once I saw she was ok within that space I enlarged it little by little. She had to earn the opportunity to be in larger areas of our home. It worked. It's a lot of work, but no accidents.
Now, how long? I haven't read the other responses to see what you've done. You have to be consistent. Know that when a puppy stops playing they have to go outside.

He has moved on. She needs to do the same.
Maybe after he finishes school things will be different but don't wait for him. People look more attractive when they aren't available.

I was finger naked for awhile. We had my wedding bands soldered to my engagement ring.
I’d go down naked. He could put both rings on her finger or just the wedding band, then the engagement ring once the ceremony is completed.

I just watched A man named Otto and it was really good. My husband and I just finished this. Oh it was so very good. I found out from a girlfriend this came from a book titled...A Man Called Ove by Fredrick Backman(sp). His books are translated from Swedish. The kind of books that will have you laughing out loud and also crying. His characters just enter your heart and his plots have surprises.

I don't know about anyone else but the search feature here is just icky!
I had on my laptop a running list of movies you have recommended. Of course I deleted it. So, I figured I'd come back and start my list all over again. HOWEVER....I can't find the post.
Please someone help find that post.....I looked on the first 3 pages and didn't see it.
Thanks much!

Check the tube of the marker and the cap for cracks. Otherwise this isn't normal. Yes they should click when closing.
Dick Blick carries them too. It's been ages since I've purchased any as I've been using them since 08 or so.

I've seen a little bit about Lori Vallow, but nothing about Letitia Stauch.

What size do you need the block to be once it's within the quilt?
If other blocks are in the quilt then make them this size.
The current block you've shown is 8" which means once this block is within a quilt it will be 7 1/2" due to the 1/4" seam on each side. If you add a sashing it will be tricky as it will have to be 1/2" + the added width you want to show. You need 1/2" extra to accommodate the seam, 1/4" that attaches to this block AND 1/4" that attaches to another block, + how much do you want to show?
I hope this makes sense.

Safety and security would be my thought.
Paper/pencil....there is a GREAT chance they wouldn't have enough supplies for all of the kids to use. That would be a mess. The staff would spend the day piece mealing each and every class they had.
Now, I would bet they will put something together so this doesn't happen again. That may be creating kits for each student in each class. That's a lot of work, but it could be done.

I retired back in 2017. I had been teaching for 38 years. At first I missed it. Then I came to realize that no one gave a hoot if I was teaching or not. I felt used.......weekends, holidays and free time were all given up to teach both students and staff.
One of the absolute best pieces of advice I got from friends was to develop friendships and activities prior to retirement. I did that. It got so most of my friends were retired before me. They welcomed me into their group with open arms.
Retirement.....I love it. We've moved to an absolutely beautiful area. I have joined a couple of clubs. Travel.....I don't see that in my future. I'm a little disappointed, but not enough to damper my retired life.

Has anyone done Morpheus treatment? Ana Navarro recently said she had it done and she looks great. I don’t know if she has also lost weight or not, but she looks a lot younger. I don't know what the treatment is that you mentioned. Yes Ana has lost weight. I don't recall how much.

Don't put the liquid in your iron. Spray it on separately. Make a pillowcase for the mat. You'll love that you can wash the case when it looks icky. Love that idea. Thanks. Do you use cotton or just any fabric? I used quilting fabric for the pillowcases. That's the only fabric I have. It washes up well.

I have one, use it much more than my ironing board, and I love it! I don't use steam only because the instructions said not to get it wet. Hmmm? Rethinking this now that it seems others use steam. Don't put the liquid in your iron. Spray it on separately. Make a pillowcase for the mat. You'll love that you can wash the case when it looks icky.
