Trump, on Truth Social on Sunday, posted a piece from former Trump administration aide Kash Patel published in The Federalist last week, in which Patel claimed Cheney and the House Jan. 6 committee āsuppressed evidenceā about the former presidentās authorization of National Guard troops during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.
SHE SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR WHAT SHE HAS DONE TO OUR COUNTRY! SHE ILLEGALLY DESTROYED THE EVIDENCE. UNREAL!!!ā Trump wrote on Truth Social while linking to Patelās piece. Cheney clapped back Sunday at Trumpās calls for her to be jailed on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, writing, āHi Donald: you know these are lies. You have had all the grand jury & J6 transcripts for many months. Youāre trying to halt your 1/6 trial because your VP, WH counsel, WH aides, campaign & DOJ officials etc. will testify against you. Youāre afraid of the truth and you should be.ā
morecowbell , while this is not hoax related or in his speech but is part of the Trump news from this weekend so thought it was valid to bring up. (Like that ever stopped me. š). Just curious on your take of the interaction between Cheney and Trump? You have indicated in the past that you are not necessarily a Trump supporter but more for truth in reporting about what Trump says and does so I would be interested in your take on this. What do you think about what Trump has said vs. Cheneyās comments and findings?

Truthfully, I donāt know? I have only been to one 3 or 4 times. We have one close to me now but it is not in an area I got to a lot so it would probably be a special trip. The parking lot was alway so congested and didnāt seem big enough so that was enough to deter me. I think ours is considered a small one but wouldnāt swear to it.
I keep saying I have to check it out again. They now have a back way in so maybe Iāll try again.

I love checking out vehicle stickers and vanity plates. Unfortunately none are coming to mind right now. In my area there are probably more liberal/progressive stickers. But in much of the other parts there are a lot of the ones the Zee mentioned. FJB, Go Brandon, hunting, Calvinās, etc. I did see a vehicle the other day that had a big 2nd amendment/Donāt Tread on me on the back window. There was also a rainbow colored sticker of our state. Neither sticker is really out of the ordinary here but you donāt typically see them together on the same car.

Just adding this comment for those who may be traveling to or live in more rural area or smaller states.
With the huge possible influx of visitors, our news is already talking about how they are unsure of the repercussions it will have on the cellphone network and cell towers. We already have spotty service in a lot of places. They are bringing in boosters and mobile tower type devices to try and make sure that 911 calls can be pushed through and to try and get maximum coverage with all the added people trying to use cell service.
So there is a chance that some people will not be able to stream live and they are asking people to try and pay attention to how much data they are using.

I also bought a bunch of the little things you plug into outlets and they emit a high pitched noise that is supposed to keep mice away. I don't know if they really work or if we've been lucky, but no mice in the house in 15 years and those little 'squealers' are plugged into outlets around the house perimeter on the main floor and in the basement and the attached garage ... I am always suspicious if those high frequency devices really work - but I have a friend that absolutely swears by them for his shop. I keep thinking I am going to get some for our shop, but I get too overwhelmed when is start reading the reviews (SO many good/bad) that I just stick with traps and poisons. We rented a camp for years and years that had a really bad mice problemā¦as it was a camp. They had the high frequency devices and I donāt believe they really worked. Someone forgot to put the cover on a dished with a sick of butter that was sitting right next to a plugged in high frequency device and within hours we saw little teeth marks. šš Personally, I think you can control them but (depending on your setting/location) you arenāt going to eliminate them in most situations. At our camp we are very conscious of making sure we donāt leave out things that will attract them, especially crumbs and such. Food items not in sealed containers are not left on counters, etc. We even found that during the winter when it was closed we would get one every now and then and there was nothing left that they would want (we put all paper products in containers, etc) and the only thing we saw teeth marks on was the silicone kitchen items like spatulas and stuff. So now we put those in sealed containers for the winter when our camp is closed. ETA - But of all the mice option it seems like there would be no harm in trying the high-frequency devices. If they work great, if not no harm no foul other than you spent a little bit of money.

Mice. They will probably be a part of their log cabin life forever. Manageable, but always there. One way to find small entrances for mice is to turn off all lights, and pull curtains if possible - to make the inside of the house as dark as possible, on a bright sunny day. Look for any light leaks coming in the house. A mouse can fit through the tinyiest hole or crack. Pack tight with steel wool and there is also rodent proof foam that works great. If they have a basement, look there, from the inside, for light leaks. Around the sill of the house, under door thresholds, etc. Mice can come in with boxes that were left outside or in the door if it is left open for even a short time - like when moving in. My dad was a grain elevator agent for years after growing up on a farm, so he has entirely too much knowledge about mice, rats, skunks, gophers, and assorted and sundry other animals and birds that might figure a giant bin of grain would be a perfect all you can eat buffet! When we had mice in our back yard, he decided to tell me that mice don't really have a ribcage and can fit through a hole the size of a dime Even though I doubt the complete accuracy of his claim, I do know that they can fit through teeny tiny spaces that you'd never think they could fit through--and besides sealing up everything that even looked like a hole on our house exterior, I also bought a bunch of the little things you plug into outlets and they emit a high pitched noise that is supposed to keep mice away. I don't know if they really work or if we've been lucky, but no mice in the house in 15 years and those little 'squealers' are plugged into outlets around the house perimeter on the main floor and in the basement and the attached garage ... Growing up in the country and surrounded by woods, mice and other animals were just a part of life. A bat infestation is something I wouldnāt play with and would contact a professional for. Mice can get through the smallest places. I literally watched one at work run under a Closed door from our room into the hall. The door was a heavy wooden door, we were in a locked room, and I would say there was less than 1/4 inch gap from the bottom of the door to the floor. I would have never ever believed it unless I watched it. š¬

I have worked at this company for 22 years. I worked for my previous company for 15 years.
Congratulations.
I left the 15 year job because it was management, I would go months without days off. We were doing one conversion after another as we were purchasing smaller banks and it was just sucking the life out of me. Constant stress and worry. The 10 to 16 hour days and Phone calls while I was on vacation (back before the days of cellphones) were enough to make me say enough is enough and this is really not what I want.
This job was a step backward but it is a job that, most of the time, I can go in and work my hours and then pass it off to the next shift and go home without much worry. I have to work at least half of the holidays though and there times that I have different days off or have to work 6 days. I just came off stint of 8 straight days. Thatās a piece of cake compared to months of straight days. Hahaha.

Optimally 20 to 30 minutes in normal conditions. I would do an hour without blinking if needed. But truthfully I would do whatever was needed to have a job and then just keep looking for something else.
For me, I own my condo and live where I live, the option to move is not realistic. I am a single person and I need to support myself, save for retirement and most importantly the health insurance . I do not really have the option to be picky about jobs in the short term. If I was really unhappy I would always be on the lookout for a job that checks more boxes. I am so sorry and good luck.

Perfect timing. I just had a friend here and had her help me fold a set of sheets from our camp. It is hard to fold them by yourself. Anyway she said how do you fold them, and I said (my momās name) very specific way. I was taught this way as kid and we didnāt deviate. At least I donāt if I have someone to help me, otherwise they just get stuffed in any which way. š Her reaction and response after was wow that works well and doesnāt take a lot of room. I do have linen closet so that is where sheets, towels, and some other stuff is stored.
fold each sheet in half length wise. Then half again. Then in half from bottom to top and then in half again. The flat sheets gets put on the fittted sheet with the pillow cases on top and the fitted folded over so they are all in one packet.

Is there a campground close by the party? Maybe then you could take the dog and camp. If the party got to much for Jermey he could stay for a while and then go check on the dog and hang and then go pick you up when you are ready.

Depending on the concert, I would probably pick the graduation party and find something else to celebrate the anniversary with at another date. I am also very much a music person. Therefore if it was an artist I absolutely love/hate to miss or some other special concert, that would probably change my decision. However if it was just a concert would like to see because I like watching live music and it is someone/some type that I enjoy, but nothing really special, I would do the family event on that weekend. This is not a bucket list concert. With that said, the artist is older so the chances of seeing them again are slimmer than a younger act would be. That would also play into my decision. Now that I am turning 60 this year, older artists definitely get moved up my list because they are really getting up there also. š

ETA - I now see the comment about Jeremy not liking the party and that would also factor into the decision.

I did. First time in person since the pandemic since I neglected to do mail in/eary voting. It is also our town meeting day so we are voting on school budgets and local issues. Very few people when I went but I purposely picked what I thought would be a low voting time. I work 2nd shift so I am lucky enough to be able go off hours during the day.

I think the owner contacting and messaging the customer was an extremely bad choice and has cost her plenty. I think the cardholder did nothing wrong if they followed rules and laws. How many times have people told you to use a credit card so if you need to dispute a charge/insurancesā¦no different for this situation. That is the way the system works.
IMO - If the restaurant is so popular that they can charge a 250.00 cancellation fee, with 6 hours notice they certainly should be able to fill that spot. A no show is different. No exceptions seems excessive. Her actions cost her much more and as a small business owner she should have realized that would happened.

I get you, feel free to ramble on. š. I ramble often. I do think it is overwhelmingly/more left leaning here and I am guessing more right leaning people prefer to discuss their politics elsewhere. Sure, why not? I am an equal opportunity responder and enter many threads and respond to what ever takes my fancy when ever I see it, it really doesnāt matter who is the poster. Or sometimes the other comments trigger thoughts or questions that I will ask or make. Similar to IRL for me I guess, if I am present at the conversation and have a comment I will make it. I think it is often just for myself and probably often only read or agreed with by myself but that is okayā¦keeps me occupied and happy. š Yes, I totally agree with equal opportunity responses however Iām not getting the responses from them what I need. Maybe Iām missing the point. Why isnāt there a republican thread? Itās obvious Iām a Dem but I get confused that I donāt read truth from GOP. Surely they must want wellārounded resources in order to make intelligent decisions. Itās your and everyoneās future! A voter canāt just watch/read limited news etc to make an informed choice. I think Iām still reeling from a member who said some time ago that they voted for a party based on the cost of gas. Itās such a narrow view. With all the whining about everything, do people really think they are the only ones dealing with crap? Does anyone read global news on a regular basis? Everyone has high cost of food, gas, etc. Ack! Iām-just babling. Ignore me. What do I know. I get you, feel free to ramble on. š. I ramble often. Truthfully IMO, what is a little annoying is that almost everyone agrees that there will always be criminals and bad people trying to get into the US. And as many on the right say about gun laws, I say about this, new laws are not going to affect or deter the criminal and those people will always find away to cross. But new laws and processes do need to be dealt with, just donāt try and scare people and lie that doing so will change anything about keeping criminals out.
That also leads us to the actual % of these criminals as compared to overall number of good people, an extremely small percent. So again as many on the right used as their talking point with Covid deathsā¦%s do matter. With it being such a small % of people who are bad and may commit crimes and that we will NEVER be able to stop 100% of the people illegally entering, why is it being used as the main point on a very complicated issue (especially when it probably wonāt even fix that part of the problem).
