I am another that likes to travel but absolutely loves our family camp also. Since the reality is that my parents are the owners and bill payers for it at this time, I am very lucky and can do/have both. It is seasonal (May - October) and about 1.5 hours from me, 2 hours from my parents and an hour from my brother. The main focus for us is that we can all come for a weekend or just a few hours. We can use it separately or all together. It gives us a chance be together as a family a lot more and for longer stretches if we want. My brother has dogs so it is easy for them to bring the dogs and not try and board them or find someone to care for them. We have our paddle boards and kayaks here, it would not be so easy for me to keep mine at my small Condo. It is close enough that it is easy to get to (and it is Vermont, so even rush hour traffic is not a problem š). I spend a lot of time here during the summer and fall. I would not be able to go away all the weekends that I am able to spend here. I love to kayak and there are a lot of places around when we want a change of pace from our own pond. There plenty of new places to explore and things to see around so it was/is great fun really getting to know a place other than where you live. I love that I basically have to throw some clothes in the car and can get out of town. I love that I can come alone or invite friends and other people. I love that I get to hang out here with my family and niece and nephewā¦ping pong, croquet, bocci ball, games, movies, swimming, wild life watching, taking the the floating dock out for a spin with drinks and appetizers. I love it all. It is work without a doubt, though. I can absolutely see how it is not for everyone, but for me it is truly a place I love and enjoy coming to even weekend after weekendā¦at least at this time.

I am another that thinks Biden should not run again. Normal life is stressful, a Presidentās life is much more. There is no shame to step away and enjoy your life.

His speech writers dropped the ball. You think his speech writer wrote "Jackie are you here? Where are you Jackie?" And if you do, and IF he was reading from a speech, wouldn't Biden have known not to say it, because he knows she was killed last month and he's going to see her family to grieve with them for their loss in 2 days? It was definitely a screw-up, take your best shot. Now if I was a Trump supporter and it was one of the many off the wall things that Trump has said in the last 6 years or so, I would probably be defending it by saying well he felt her there in the room in spirit and was just calling out to the heavens for her or some other weird ass excuse. š Another one we heard/hear a lot is well was he was just joking, when you know just by listening to Trump that isnāt true. Or we would hear it was just the libtards, demoncrats, demoRATS (or whatever the newest connotation of democrat/liberal that they are calling them/us/me) twisting his words. Nope they were just screw-ups just like Bidenās were/are. Not sure what the point isā¦. I am not sure if you are trying to insinuate that Biden has dementia like many of the Trump supporters I see on line? If it is I would say then you should be thinking the same thing about Trump (and maybe you do, but most Trump supporters do not) because he had just as many gaffes/screw-ups/weird ass comments as the ones people are calling out Biden for.

It was definitely a mess-up and worthy of being called a gaffe. He will get crap for it for awhile. What do you do, I have done as bad but at least it wasnāt public and televised. š¤·š»āāļøš
I have to say my favorite trump one: the Continental Army ātook over the airportsā from the British during the American Revolutionary War in the 1770s. šš
I think people were used to Obama who had very few. The only one that you see people/Republicans try and zing him with is the 57 states. He must not have been singing fifty nifty United States in his head. š. That is pretty good for an 8 year run.

seriously - until July, my daughter's truck was parked in our yard (she has it now) - 2001 Ford Ranger - and I lost count of how many people asked how much we wanted for it. And if we changed our minds, let them know... Why do they do this? Ā Surely there are plenty of used cars out there for sale. Ā Why not go to a used car lot instead of approaching a homeowner whose car doesnāt even have a for sale sign on it. I am not sure for normal cars and in normal circumstances, but I do know that (at least in my area) older trucks are a often sought out unicornā¦so it wouldnāt/doesnāt surprise me that people stop and ask about it. Forgot to add I do not have a 2nd house, barely have oneā¦it is just a small condo. š. But we do have a family camp (owned by my parents, so they have 2). It is not year around though, it is only open may through oct

Thanks for the link.
I was just in Saratoga a few weeks ago. I will have to check it out next time. I am there pretty frequently and have friends in Saratoga and around that area. On my list for the next time I have some time when I am down there.

Exactly my point, I am so weary of hearing about this talking point with the constant buzz words/phrases that the left have no regard to childrensā lives and yet living, breathing, and hurting children here in this world now are being dismissed because even though they have been birthedā¦ it just wasnāt to the right (and take that wordās meaning as you like š) people or in the right country.

And maybe that is because there is a much greater humanitarian crisis in the world today. Ā Just think about 6.3 million Ukrainians that had to flee their country this year alone because of war. Ā I think I read somewhere that the global refugee crisis population has doubled in the last decade and that about 85 - 90 million refugees were forced to flee their homes. Ā So with these numbers do you not think that it is logical that we are having more people coming to our borders to try and save their lives and family?
More people trying to cross our borders to save their children (saving childrenā¦which we know is the MAIN concern of Republicans) does not mean we have open borders nor does it mean that we want open borders. Something needs to be done and it is not a wall, it is real refugee reform. Ā
If you live in a agriculture area or state you know for a fact that people can not hire Americans and desperately need the help. Ā Who are the people willing to work the fields and pick the cropsā¦not āAmericansā. Ā Just think of the food crisis we would be/will be in without all those hard working people willing to do to back breaking work so you can eat your salad, fruit, veggies and meat Ā and drink your milk.
Something needs to be done, no doubt, but the open border propaganda crap needs to stop and people need to figure out how to share our planet and make things work. Ā
Arenāt you glad that by the Grace of your god, as you (general you) always say, didnāt make you be born in Venezuela. Ā It would be interesting to see what all these people flaming this crisis would do to save their kids if their god had them born into a poverty stricken or war stricken nation. Ā I am sure they all would be thinking well we might as well just sit here and let them die? Ā But here in our own country they are willing to start a civil war over the preconceived notion that the left/liberal/democrats are trying to harm their children. Ā
I do not get it and probably never will.Ā

I do not totally agree with this. There certainly may be situations where this is true but I have always ended up friends with my bosses/supervisor. I also ended up having to manage my best friend because upper management moved her department to my group. It can be done.
It is hard not to become friends with people you have worked with for a lot of years and who you like. š¤·š»āāļø
In fact I am on vacation with a great friend who was my manager at the company I worked for 20 years ago(I worked there for 15 years).
ETA - for your question I would say both. But I would certainly suggest they have an honest and frank conversation with their boss to determine their next step.

Capital Region of NY here. Not much change yet---little hints of color here and there. We drove up to Lake George area over the weekend and didn't see any major change yet. We finally got some rain here after a very dry summer. Our lawn is finally green again. It was crispy in July and August. I was in Lake George the week before and there wasnāt really any then except for few distressed trees, here and there. They typically are around the same time as my area. I live in the Champlain Valley (Burlington VT area) and typical years when I get back from camp at the end of September it is close to or peak up here and we are just starting to at change home. But you could tell they were really changing even that close to Champlain. I think that is one of things that I love about about the changing of the leaves, all of sudden boomā¦you are in a sea of color but you never know what each year will bring so it is always new, different and changing. Happy leaf peeping. ETA - it is no where near peak but I am surprised at the amount in the lower elevations/ lower part of the state.

I am shock, shocked I tell you š² š, how early the leaves seem to be changing here in the Northeast. Is everyone seeing it in their state also?
I have just started a two week vacation (an annual 30 or so year tradition) in the Northeastern part of my state and noticed on the drive up how many trees have already started to change color. I Always take the last two weeks of September and weather and foliage does change depending on the year. We have had years with snow to years that we can still swim every now and then, so it can be unpredictable any yearā¦but I think it is going to be very early this year or they are just going to die and drop.
I feel sorry for all those booked on foliage bus tours for the October because I really think the leaves will be down. Hope it does not mean that the snow will roll in early as I am not quite ready for that yet. š¤

You also seem to have no idea who fully embraces what. And most of your statements are pretty generalizing of a group of people that seem to be even larger and more diverse than the Republicans.
Says someone on the left who did not want Hillary and can get over that Hillary lost. Says someone who has voted for my Republican Governor. Says someone who does not think borders should be open and know that they are not. Says someone who thinks there should be common sense gun laws but am not looking to take away everyoneās guns. Says someone who does not think this country is as much of a shitshow now (although there are many issues without a doubt) as it was from 2016 - 2020. Says someone who feels confident with the legitimacy of the outcome of our elections.
The problem is this post and attitude is the same exact thing you are accusing the other side of and yet you also do not see it or you do not care? And the circle continues. I do not consider myself religious but I consider myself someone that believes in good and acceptance and I would match my morals against any Christian, Religious person, Agnostic, or Atheist. If you canāt see what was wrong with the how and why that DeSantis did this I really start to question if you truly believe as you say. š¤·š»āāļø
Have you ever been to Cape Cod/Marthaās Vineyard? Do you know the logistics of the area and what is available? Do you think that the summer residents are considered the population of Cape Cod/Marthaās Vineyard? Do you truly think that you have a winning point thumbing your nose at that they were taken care of by bringing them to a place that is best suited to help them? All rhetorical questions because I never get the answers I ask for. šš šš. The story of my life. š

There have always been laws, there have always been people trying, failing, and succeeding. Nothing has changed except the numbers and that is really to be expected.
I am not sure why you never respond to me as I have never called you a name and only asked for clarification on your stance, because I am trying to understand your opinions. All you seem to have to fix the problem is to build a wall and I donāt understand how you think this will fix anything. So I will try again.
How are our borders any more open than they were 3 years ago or 10 years ago if there has been no real change in structures, walls? And things really have not changed that much. What has changed is the number of people who are trying to find a way to survive and keep their kids alive. There are problems and issues that need to be dealt with but to be pushing that the border is open seems to be not very truthful. We have made it all of these years without border walls and have only recently (since Trump?) been hearing the catch phrase that the Democrats have opened the borders.
There is a fentanyl problem in the US that needs to be dealt with. However it is not the individuals that are bringing in the majority of that drug. So really will walls help? Republicans seem to often express things in percents (such as no need to mask because the death rate is only 2% of those that get Covid or whatever) And if some of these individuals are bringing in fentanyl it is a small % and no need to focus on thatā¦worry about getting the real shipments. And again this is not a new problem and seems very doubtful that walls will help.
I live in a state that borders Canada and spend a lot of time around border communities . There are no real walls to speak of but I have not heard that we have open borders. There are people that try to cross illegally, just as there were 3, 10, or 15 years ago. We donāt want any walls built and I know no one that wants open borders. I do know a lot of people that have empathy for those that are risking their lives to try and survive and that it is not right to just discard people (actual birthed and living people) trying to survive. And that there is a difference between an individual trying to smuggle over guns or drugs and families trying to survive.

So since this would be all new wall, were our borders open during the Regan and Bush administration? Because I donāt really see that there is much difference in the āopennessā of our borders.
Whether there are more people who are trying to save their children and families by any means possible, I couldnāt tell you, but I would bet that is more of the issue. Much like any country close to other countries with fleeing citizens because of war and/or poverty, I am sure the influx of people trying to save their children from imminent death has grown by leaps and bounds the last few years.
ETA - it stuns me that so many people threatening/willing to start a civil war with people in their own country to supposedly save their children from the left can not see why someone would leave everything, travels hundreds of miles and days/weeks/months, risk death and failure to save their familyās life.

I canāt comment on the divorce aspect as I am not married (and no kids) so I do understand it is different. But I can relate to housing and living on one income.
I continued rent and lived with with roommates for about a year after I got my first job after college. We were forced to move out of our apartment because the owner wanted to use it while they renovated their house, so it forced me to makes decisions. I decided to go with a much much smaller apartment and live by myself. Rents in my area were high and it was very hard to find housing because of college students and other issues. Sadly this has not changed in the last in the 30 years or so since then. I was able to eventually find something (but it was more than I had been paying) and stayed in that apartment for over 6 years.
When I decided to buy I purchased a āstarterā condo by myself and I still live here 25 years later. I have paid it off and feel grateful. However, I am not sure that I would be able to follow that same course if I was starting today, especially when you have to factor in that I also needed to make sure that I could save for my retirement, all just on my income.
I really do feel lucky in that I consider myself in an āokayā situation. I have retirement funds, I own my condo, and I have no other debt. I do not have to watch my pennies or worry if something large unexpectedly breaks. However I have also lived in my little starter condo and well below my means so that I could be in this situation at this point in my life. I am not sure how people can do it these days and still have disposable income?
Good luck to everyone dealing with difficult life changes and/or trying to navigate life on one income.

I no longer keep metallic inks, since I use metallics infrequently & IMHO they never shine/sparkle well on dark cardstock. Rather, I prefer the results from stamping with either VersaMark (clear) or VersaFine Clair (in the same/similar color as the paper) & heat embossing with Ranger Super Fine Detail EP (& re-emboss for a more saturated color &/or smoother finish, if desired). All three products capture fine details, which IMHO is ideal especially for alphanumeric characters. Both VersaMark & VersaFine Clair, which is embossable for several minutes, allow you to create a quick embossed background - stamp the entire 12x12 background then emboss it all at once. VersaMark (pad, not cube), VersaFine Clair in Nocture/black, & gold Ranger Super Fine Detail EP are available in store (& included in regular weekly sales) at Hobby Lobby, if you have one locally to avoid waiting for shipping/delivery, as well as online at Hobby Lobby, Joann, etc. HTH. Thank you for the information. I would typically heat emboss gold for dark paper but I just want to randomly stamp ā100ās on quite a few sheets of black to cover a fairly large area, which will then have pictures on them. I was hoping for something visible but really did not want to go to the effort of embossing.

Hi, I have searched and have not really found a previous thread that answered this (with my limited search ability) so thought I would ask. I am looking for a good/bright gold ink to stamp ā100ās on black card stock. This is to use as a background for pictures for my grandmotherās 100th birthday.
I donāt want to have to emboss but would like something bright if possible. I have an old Brillance (?) ink pad that tried that isnāt really that bright or brilliant. š. I, unfortunately, also need it pretty quickly so places to purchase with quick shipping (getting it out the door) is appreciated also.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I am in the northeast this is the time that they tend to start, although more so in couple of weeks. It also depends if it is the Canadas or the Snows.
We have also noticed a change in migration paths within the last few years.
I have taken a 2 week vacation in the Northeast part of Vermont by the Canadian border every year for the last 30 or so years and there have been changes in numbers and routes for sure.
I also live close to a wildlife refuge that is known for an area to see Snow geese (more than the Canadas but there are both) during migration and it has also seen changes in the numbers over the years. It also seems that the flocks are not as big as in the past.
One of my favorite things in the fall is to see the couple of scouts come in and check out the lake, take off and then in come a large flock landing for the night. To hear their honks and calls, to hear the loons get pissed at them, and then to hear the awesome sound when they take off is pretty amazing and something I never get sick of.

I do. Different colors sometimes and just duplicates sometimes. Same with shoes. I have very little interest in variety, I like what I like and is comfortable. Luckily for me with my job the last 20 years I could/can wear jeans (just not blue) and short sleeve or long sleeved tee-shirts, and a vest (fleece or down). I work in an area that needs to stay cool and I was always cold. I can work from home most of the time now and I wear leggings and a tee-shirt and a vest. š
